Overall I am not sure if I would buy this product again. I did love how at first I seemed to have noticed a difference with how soft my skin felt, but now honestly after using it faithfully twice a day for five months straight, I really haven't noticed any minor aging skin spots fade or wrinkles diminish how others have claimed. So I'm not sure if I would spend the money on another tube of serum.

LOVE LOVE LOVE....Not sure why this is getting such negative reviews, But I love this and all of the Boots No 7 products...This is great, I use it day and night, At night I use prior to my Boots No 7 Lift and Luminate Night Cream and in the day I use over my Boots No 7 Day cream b/c It works GREAT as a makeup primer. Has brightened my skin, shrinked my pores and they were the size of Mount Rushmore....And just all over made my skin smooth and soft...I am in my early thirties and trying to do my best to prevent wrinkles, I don't have any at this point so I can't attest for the anti-aging aspect of this serum now, But I bet in years to come I will be glad I used this and all Boots No 7 products!! The price compared to drugstore is a little much but compared to department store it's great and works better than any of them ever have for me any way....It's usually around $24 at Target and it last me about two months with day and night use. Try it!

I'm so surprised by the negative/neutral reviews! I've been using the No7 Protect and Perfect Intense range for a couple of years, having progressed from the standard P&P range when I hit my mid thirties. I LOVE these products and would recommend over most of the higher end ranges I've tried over the years. I use the eye cream, followed by the serum and day cream in the morning and find this to be a perfect base for applying make-up (although I find make-up goes on better if you leave to sink in for at least 10 mins) - i've received several comments about how nice my skin looks! Both the eye cream and serum definitely seem to blur fine lines and provide a smooth and silky base. The night cream feels quite rich (albeit a little sticky) but leaves my skin silky soft by morning and seems to really suit my sensitive combination skin. Great products at a great price - although would recommend waiting till Boots are offering No7 on promotion at 3for2 and stocking up! For info, the serum is available in a glass bottle or plastic tube - I personally prefer the tube as it's more travel friendly and you don't get as much waste!

OH MY GOD....after reading many other bad reviews on this product I came across some people who say it does not do any anti-aging, that the intense version they just added a moisturizer, and it tied with OLAY in the Good Housekeeping test and all I have to say is you guys seriously need to know what the hell you are talking about first before you bash any product. Im sure you think you know because you googled it or whatever. to correct you, it does not contain a hydrator. It contains glycerin which is in there for texture. Glycerin and some of the other ingredients can be alternatively used as moisturizers but in this case, at these levels they arent. It has the peptide complex, alfalfa and larch extracts which boost collagen and elastin production in the skin and it also contains an anti-oxidant complex to protect from free radical damage. not to mention the retinyl palmitate thats in it. Where the hell did you get that it has no anti-aging properties? When Good housekeeping tested in over a year and a half's length of time, it came out #1, it did not tie with OLAY, read the damn magazine its right there! And for God sakes use it longer than 4 weeks and more than one bottle. If serums corrected skin ailments in 4 weeks we wouldnt have plastic surgery and perscription strength retinol in the first place.
My expertise: Trained skin care consultant, two family members are dermotologists and my mother is a pharmacist.

The "intense" version is the serum combined with a moisturizer and I did not like it. Good Housekeeping tested the REGULAR serum, and I used it with good results for several years. Note that in the Good Housekeeping test, this tied with Olay Regenerist serum, which I also used and liked.
I now use Neutrogena's retinol serum for combination skin. It is a better value for my money.

Wow, this broke me out. And I don't normally break out. The most I usually get are occasional tiny whiteheads around my nose, but this broke me out in large, red zits. I've never had a breakout like this in my life. My skin is early 40s. dry-to-medium. I'm using it on my neck and chest now and haven't had any problems there. But I certainly won't buy it again. Packaging is nice.

I was very excited to try this product. I read some great reviews on other sites and it also has the good housekeeping seal of approval. I ended up with nothing but disappointment...oh, and zits too!
After the first application, I was optimistic. The product is smooth and made my skin feel velvety. After several days, I still saw no noticeable difference, even though the reviews from other sites boast almost immediate results. Also, my skin began to break out with zits, and my skin really isn't all that sensitive. At first I thought it was a hair product I was using, but after stopping that product the zits continued....and didn't go away until I stopped using this serum.

Nothing more than hyped up silicone in a bottle, this product is so full of silicones it would prevent any of it's "anti aging" ingredients from penetrating at all, their "study" to prove this stuff "really works" was funded by, none other then guess who? Boots! one of the many silicones listed on this is known to build up for months and can be dangerous, this is example of how advertising can really fool people.

You know, it is weird when a company has a product that you absolutely love--like Boots #7 Illimunator and has one that just doesn't cut it--such as the No. 7 Protect and Perfect Intense.
Serums are wonderous---as in Lancome's serums--but Lancome is very pricey. I purchased this because I wanted to save some money and figured it would probably work as well as my Lancome products (which I seriously need to review). Although it glides on nicely, the only difference I noticed in my skin was these huge zits. Come on--I'm too old to be getting ginormous zits at my age!! I'm sorry, but for some this may be great stuff--but for me, and I really feel for those with sensitive skin, this is a dud.

I remember the original one being mainly silicone and this is the same. It gives a primer like base for makeup. Unfortunately it also brought me out in horrible spots. I ended up giving the tube away.

This broke me out very badly. It's a shame because I totally bought into the "hype" about this product.

I switched to using this product recently when I ran out of Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair. It looks like it contains many of the same ingredients and it is half the price. Will post progress in 4 weeks.

I've been using this for about a week and am really glad. I'm 46, with fair, delicate, Irishy-type skin (so prone to fine lines and dryness). I wasn't using a serum prior to this, just gentle cleansing, non-alcohol toning and day (SPF) and night moisturizers. This product has actually made a difference in just a few days: my skin is smoother and little lines around my eyes, on my forehead and near the outer corners of my mouth are definitely less noticeable. I've had no breakouts or other side effects (my skin tends to be a tad sensitive). I plan to continue and will purchase the companion eye cream as well. At $22 (at my local Target), this is actually a steal for a high quality serum product (compared to other things I've purchased such as Skinceuticals, etc. @ $60+ for smaller containers). The packaging seems good, in that it encourages you to use a little at a time and that seems to go a long way. I'm a happy woman.

I've been using this for approximately 2 mos and I do see a noticeable improvement. The parenthesis around my mouth have been reduced. I only use this once a day, since it's not exactly dirt cheap and I'm not a huge fan of the consistency because I normally use all natural... but I can't argue with results. I'm 36 and I do see some lifting and radiance.
Bought this for about $20 @ Target.
Edit:::: this seems to have plateaued or maybe i just don't notice the dramatic effect, anymore because i'm used to it? what once seemed like lifting and radiance seems to be not so much, now. but then it could be that i'm not using it twice a day or just used to what i'm seeing....

This product is quite ordinary. I purshased it after Good Housekeeping rated it the no 1 anti-aging serum in their first Anti Aging Skin Product list. Apparently they where able to see differences in the skin of their testers with pictures. Since it's so inexpensive I figured why not try it. Even if I'm in my 40's, the only skin problem I have is a little lack of firmness. This serum does nothing for me. The application is pleasant due to the silicone in the formula. Skin feels super smooth for a couple of minutes and does make make-up application easier. As a make-up base it's ok but as a skin treatment I'll pass.

Um, reviewer staciarose's 2nd paragraph is not a review but is Boots' own description of the product. Just google "No7 Protect & Perfect Intense" and you will come to the product page on Amazon that includes these exact words. It's ok to add in corporate material to your review but you should ***attribute it*** so everyone knows it's not your own words/review but rather just the advertising copy dreamed up by a marketing team.
This product is ok. I used it for a month or so. It provides that instant superficial smoothing effect in texture (due to silicones, I think) but I didn't see a long-term difference in clarity or texture. I selected "no" for buy again but it's more like maybe. I might buy it for the daily skin smoothing that makes makeup go on better but I wouldn't buy it in the hope of real skin improvement over time.

price but worth it! after tugging on my eye area to apply make up for the past few years it was giving me slight wrinkles. this serum has eased them and tbh virtually got rid of them. im only 21 but prevention is better than the cure they say

I don't know why someone hasn't added this yet to seperate it from the original formula. There is a big difference between the two. Huge difference, for that matter. This contains peptides and retinyl while I think the original does not. I would say it's pretty comparable, if not better than, Olay's regenerist line serum. I just recently caught on to this, but it's been popular in the UK since 2007.
No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Beauty Serum has been tested like no other cosmetic anti aging product in an independent 12 month trial. The findings clearly show that it has genuine, long term anti aging benefits. 70% of the volunteers using the product showed a marked improvement in the appearance of photo-aged skin after 12 months of use. This study is the latest step on Boots journey to provide further compelling proof of the performance of its products.
I feel this is good for those with dry skin, and to prevent further signs of aging. I don't have advanced wrinkles or even fine lines but I do have dry skin and I do see a difference in the tone and texture of my skin after using it for a week. My skin feels better, and feels nourished despite the harsh Winter weather. You use serums under your regular moisturizer, so don't skip that unless you have very oily skin.
Right now there is a $2 off coupon that can be used at Target on the Boots US website.
