I love this in the extra body formula,,,It gives my hair great body too! I really only use it about 3 times a week. I like to switch between 2 or 3 different shampoos to help with build up. Its pretty basic but I really do love the shine and super clean smell I get with this. Im kinda burnt out from all the fruity smells out there so this really is a refreshing change :)

I absolutely hate these shampoos, I wanted to try something cheap and inexpensive and these left my hair super greasy the conditioners did nothing either, my hair was frizzy AND greasy at the roots. If I am too broke to buy my preferred brand Ill think Ill stick to the Suave shampoos which are a million times better.

These are the best cheap shampoos and conditioners. I have used all of the following shampoo and conditioners:
Strawberries and Cream - lightly moisturizing, not heavy, but I do not care for the overpowering scent.
Passion Fruit Smoothie - lightly moisturizing, not heavy, nice light scent.
Kiwi Lime Clarifying - slightly drying shampoo, the conditioner is my favorite because it feels like it weighs my hair down the least out of all of them although not the most moisturizing, smells amazing.
Extra Body - not drying like many other volumizing shampoos, the conditioner is nice but feels like it leaves a residue after a few days, smells kind of grandma-ey to me.
Like other reviewers have mentioned, they all seem to work the same. None of the formulas I have tried contain silicones. They do not dry out my hair, with the exception of the Kiwi Lime, which is a clarifying shampoo, so that is expected. I will say that it is not the most clarifying shampoo I have used. I feel like the Suave clarifying works better, but it also leaves my hair drier. I have fine hair, oily at the roots, and damaged at the ends. I use these shampoos and conditioners everyday. My favorite combination is the Extra Body shampoo and the Kiwi Lime conditioner. Those together leave my hair soft, shiny, and not weighed down. I do have to use a lot of the conditioner (no matter which formula I use) since my hair is damaged, but for the price, I can afford to do so. Just to give you an idea, I go through almost two bottles of conditioner for every one bottle of shampoo I use. I used to work at a salon and I have tried just about every salon brand out there. After needing a shampoo and conditioner at the last minute, I picked these up since they do not contain silicones and cost less than a dollar. Now this is all I use. I recommend trying them since they are less than a dollar a bottle, so if they don't work for you, its not a big loss.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, the Moisture Milks in Stawberries and Cream.
The smell is devine and it last a long time. the shampoo leave my hair clean yet soft and the conditioner just finishes the perfect wash.
When I do co washes I also use it. my hair is soft has good slip and smell hmmmmmmmmmm lovely. It cost $10.95 ttd each wich is about the cheapest you can get here. I am done using expensive Shampoos and conditioners because in the last few months of using VO5 my hair is actually healthier. At time I add oils for an extra boost.

This stuff is okay if you're on a budget, but if you can afford to pay more for your hair care products, I suggest you do it. Alberto V05 just cleans your hair-and not all that well.

Not the best shampoo/conditioner that I've used. They strip my hair and make it look frizzy, dry, dull and lifeless.

This is the best shampoo and conditioner for my hair type. Salon quality as well as drugstore shampoos and conditioners containing dimethicone, simethicone, ____cone, you get the gist, not only leave my naturally fine, slippery but abundant hair weighed down and limp, they cause a "bump" breakout at the hairline from blocked pores. Vo5 contains none of these and as a result always makes my hair shiny, bouncy and and full of body.

Since I was a little girl, my mother bought this stuff for me. At the tender ages of 8, 9 and 10, I had not a clue what was good for hair, and bad for hair. My mom bought this stuff because it was cheap. I'd use the one that smelled the best, and had a pretty color. Back then, the bottles were clear, and I loved how they looked back then.
Now, the packaging is more blah, with more opaque plastic. But I loved the super clear plastic bottles.
At the ages of teenage hood, around 13 and up, I deemed Vo5 too childish for me, and went ahead with L'oreal, Garnier, and Herbal Essences. I still remember how Herbal Essences looked a few years ago. My mother used the one for color treated hair, and I thought the bottles looked soooo cool. Herbal Essences was my first venture out into beauty products.
Since straying from vo5, I have had no loyalty. Tresseme, Dove, and Pantene meant nothing to me. I walked the hair aisle, and mercilessly picked out shampoos and conditioners based on price (to me, I thought the more expensive, the better) but I always ignored the little Vo5 bottles winking up at me. Even Suave got more love from me.
I had my hair dyed ice blond, and I was after moisture for my dry dry hair at those days. Packaging changed on everything, and I continued bouncing around, but never settled for Vo5, I deemed it beneath me.
Finally, after an awful dye job, where my hair started breaking off badly, I cut it, and started to grow out my virginal brown hair. All the products I used to love suddenly left my hair weighed down, and greasy. Along with the ultra short haircut, I felt ugly.
So, I scanned the aisles and realized I had tried everything, and now, it didn't work. Turning, I saw vo5 peaking at me, and I walked over. I picked up a bottle each of Strawberries and Cream shampoo and conditioner. What did I have to lose, right? It was on sale for 89 cents.
I shoved the bottles to the bottom of my hair selections and continued trying the more expensive things. Finally, running out of options, I reached for the bottle, and expected absolutely nothing.
Lo and behold, soft, sleek, beautiful hair that smelled wonderful! My ringlets were bouncy and defined and I found out there was No Silicone at all!
Since then, I've had a change of heart. I still know little loyalty, but Vo5 certainly has more love from me than Pantene (which I despise) and Herbal Essences (which doesn't work at all.)
I adore this line, and I'd buy it for the rest of my life. I haven't tried it on dyed hair, but I will. When my hair finishes growing out, I plan on dying it back to blond, and avoiding my dying mistakes.
Then we shall see. For now, this is HG status.
EDIT: Oh my goodness...WHAT CAN'T THIS STUFF DO!? Even on my now dyed hair (I'm back to bright blonde, baby!) it leaves it so soft and defined. It still smells incredibly and looks even better! BUY THIS STUFF! What in the world are you WAITING for!?

I really like this product. Always have. I first started using this because I was looking for a product that was Animal Cruelty free and this was. It was insanely cheap and my mom always makes fun of me because I use vo5. But in all honestly I absolutely love it. Everything I want is always soo expensive so it's nice to have something like shampoo being so inexpensive. The product is great as well as the smell. I love the Peach one. Great product. I will most likely use this forever unless I come across something more animal free.

PROS:- EXCELLENT FOR UNDERNOURISHED n DAMAGED HAIR
CONS:- NONE REALLY
VO5 hair conditioners, are some of the best ones we have in market...i have extremely dry chemical treated n permed hair...i have recently substituted V05 in place of L'oreal which is expensive stuff... and i must admit V05 gave me same results while being affordable....i tried V05 DEEP NOURISHING ELIXIR HAIR CONDITIONER ,, i could see dat little goes a long way unlike L'oreal conditioners... while giving me soft silky hair.. its supposed to be loaded with essential oils and vitamins..and i could see it in the results...i highly recommend V05 hair conditioners.

my hair:
2b, thin, fine-medium, previously color-treated with chemical dyes, but now use henna. i have dandruff and hair used to tend to get oily rather quickly. the top layer if my hair i have no problem with, but the underneath part is frizzy and dry.
that is, untill i adopted my current haircare routine.
i used to shampoo every day with a dandruff shampoo (tried all different kinds). what i got was a really oily scalp by thenext day, and no real improvement for dandruff, as well as really dry hair, despite religious use of a conditioner.NOW, i use selsum blue, diluted by about 50% once every 6 days or so, followed by a deep conditioner (garnier 3 minute for shine and fortification-- protein free). the rest of the time i condition-only wash. i use a TiGi thick conditioner thats protein free from the ears down, and then Vo5 on my scalp, and really massage it in. i do the rest of the shower stuff, and then rinse, making sure to part the hair in several places so the water can get to my scalp to wash away the dirt and conditioner. since Vo% has gentle sulfates (as do most conditioners) it acts as a gentler shampoo, and isnt overly drying. an regular shampoo has harsher sulfates and dries the scalp too much, which is what makes it produce more oil. also, since Vo5 has no silicones, it doesnt weigh down the roots of my hair. the conditioner i use from the ears down, however, does have silicones. The once-a-week mild dandruff shampoo run-off is enough to remove buildup.
and for this purpose the Vo5 works perfectly! i still need the deeper/richer conditioner for the ears down, but for CO washing this works great! (thanks, long hair community forum!)
the only thing i want to mention is that i know my hair doesnt need more protein (when i use protein my hair gets really dry on the ends), and the strawberry smoothie Vo5 SAYS on the front that it has protein. however, in the ingredients protein is never mentioned. of course, i'm not an expert on ingredients by any means. for that reason, i have switched to a different Vo5-- the orange one (Papaya and something?)
at 80-ish cents a bottle, you cant beat this, and can use as much as i want at a time without feeling bad for "wasting" it.

I tried both the shampoo and conditioner awhile ago, but wasn't too impressed with how it left my hair. After washing, my hair was super frizzy and looked a bit like I had walked through a static electricity field or something (like when you rub a balloon on your head). My hair also felt quite dry and 'waxy' which is the first I have ever come across in terms of shampoo/conditioner. The shampoo felt like it was stripping my hair and the conditioner wasn't too good either in restoring moisture back. The conditioner was hard to wash off and took multiple rinses. Wasn't too pleased with it. It didn't work for me.

Really great shampoo and conditioners. The conditioner for them is really thick and really conditions well escpecially the one for heat damaged hair. The smell is kinda weird, have a slight tobaccoy scent. (im talking about the v05's in the blue bottles)

These are great basic shampoos and conditioners for very cheap. They are comparable to Suave in terms of quality for money, but are better because Vo5 doesn't animal test. Definitely preferred to Suave at the price point. Comes in some nice smells, too!

I am stunned!! I paid a little more than a dollar for my beautiful bottle of the Strawberry conditioner. I use it with L'oreal Nutrigloss shampoo and I swear, of all the super expensive products, endless combos etc that I've ever used, using just these two products I have acheived *perfect* hair. Shiny, silky, smooth. No frizzies or flyaways ever. Do yourself a favor and stop wasting your money on overpriced junk. You'll be glad you tried this ;)

I cannot rave enough about the V05 products. I grew up in a large family where all my mom could afford were V05 shampoos. After I got out on my own, I shelled out huge bucks for salon products. My hair was always oily and nasty until I switched back to V05 last year. Now I get fresh, clean hair for about a dollar a bottle and I am never going back. The normal golden shampoo, the Smoothing Tea, the Lavender Luster, and the Raspberry are my favorites but you really can't go wrong here.

I recommend these to anybody who is looking for value and/or to avoid silicones in their shampoo and conditioner. The number one complaint people have about these shampoos and conditioners is that they leave their hair too dry, but that is likely because of the absence of silicones in many of the formulas. It can be something of a trade-off for some. The Kiwi Lime is the best clarifying shampoo I've ever used, and the Passion Fruit Smoothie and the Honeydew Smoothie are great regular shampoos, because they're less drying than some of the others in the line. I can also recommend the Kiwi Lime Clarifying Conditioner. Virtually everything in this line smells fantastic as well. Forget about White Rain and Suave. VO5's line of cheapie shampoos and conditioners is the best.
