I swapped for this a while ago and while the colour is gorgeous in the jar, it does not translate well to my fair skin. If you were medium to darker skin, I'm sure this would look gorgeous on your eyes since the rose base would actually show and really pop. But since I have fair skin, it just came out as glitter gel with none of the base colour showing up at all :(

Chilled on Ice is such a pretty unique shade. I wish that MAC made more paint pots or paints that look like this. Between the 4 Cham-pale paint pots, I think this one is the most unique.. Vintage Selection is definitely my favorite, but that is only because it is more subtle for daytime wear. The only reason I wouldn't repurchase is because paint pots last forever, and I have 2 in this shade :)

Just try to use it as your eyshadow base, you'll love it! Eyeshadows you put on Chilled on Ice will last all day and have a subtle sparkle. You can never notice any fallouts, fadings away etc. I think to be the e/s base is the real secret mission of this paint pot!

I love this color in the pot, but on skin -- not so much. It's much more sheer than other paint pots, and maybe that's because it's part of Cham-Pale, but I was hoping to get a swatch more true to the pot color. All I see when I apply it is shimmer -- no color, just lots of shimmer. It might be good for a quick wash or highlight when you're running late, but I don't like any shadows over it, or really by itself for any other purpose. That sucks, because I really wanted to love this!

I was looking for something to replace my Bobbi Brown shimmer brick which fell apart!
This is easy to toss into your bag and apply with a finger to the lid which I like but it is not opaque enough to really wow me.
Also it is far more glitter than shimmer which was dissapointing.
I do like it but wouldn't rush to buy it again, which wouldn't happen anyway since it is LE.

Alright, so this is how I use it.
This product is basically like Bare Study paint pot but with a crap load of gold glitter. Yes, you can put on Bare Study first and then add some gold glitter to create similar effect. But as a makeup artist or (a tired student lolz), this is quick and handy for neutral makeup to waken up the eye area. I use this on myself when I'm tired and just use a gel liner to line the eyes and I'm out the door. Or clients/photoshoots for bold lips (like pair this with a red lip with high gloss on top of the lip and it's a beautiful bold red lip look.)
I just love this for the convience sake. It does have a certain glow on some angles but honestly, it's all pure convience sake.
Don't get it if you're hoping for some crazy unique shade lolz.

First let me say that this isn't your typical paint pot. Like what others say, this is nothing more than a glitterbomb, however, if used correctly, can come out really pretty. I highly suggest this be used with MAC brush 239 or similar, this is perfect as a lid color, if not, can be layered on top of your main lid color. The only thing i wish that this product isn't LE and i wish it didn't crease but other than that, it's perfect.

This is so pretty, but I find my eyes and cheeks surrounded by glitter at the end of the day. I have yet to try setting it with some sort of powder shadow, but every other paint pot I have wears fine on its own. Gonna have to work with this but I think the gorgeous color is worth it.

This product sucks! The problem is NOT the glitter either. I specifically bought it because reviews were like "it's a glitter bomb, had to send it back!" That's exactly what I want, lol! But the problem is this is basically gold glitter gel for the price of $16.50! I don't have that kind of money to spend on gold sparkles. I bought it based on reviews that made it sound like something extraordinary. They were all like "you have to see it in person!!!" Yeah well I think these people are lying to themselves; it's boring, gold glitter. There is no kind of interesting color change or anything. It looks like my Too Faced Candlelight highlighting powder in cream form. Also, paint pots are supposed to be a base for eyeshadow, but like someone else wrote on here, it makes the eyeshadow look flakey, exactly like reptile scales--I could not agree more.

I would definitely buy this product again! Its such an amazing color! Once you apply it on, it looks gold from one angle but when you look from left or right, it looks like a shimmery baby pink.white. Its AMAZING. :) I wouldnt recommend this for starters since its really glittery but i would suggest this to anyone who asks what paint pot they should get :)

I like this paint pot. I only own two, this and rubenesque, and the difference in texture is that rubenesque is slightly, more liquid? but this means that chilled on ice is easier to apply. for just a subtle sparkle, you need surprisingly little product. this is the reason i gave this product a 3 on price, because i can tell it will last forever.
i put packaging as a 2 because my lid keeps coming loose? i don't want it to dry out!
but lovely. and i am probably going to buy a back up for summer.
nice to layer skin toned mattes over for a subtle sparkle! also lovely with gleam.

I liked how the Cham Pale paint pots looked in the pot but once you apply Chilled On Ice you realize it's more glitter than anything else. I got fallout from using this paint pot..yes from a paint pot. Wanted to like it, but I think I am taking it back and exchanging for Bare Study which is similar but more opaque and smooth, and no glitter.

I'm asian and I have monolids.
I'm really into the neutral everyday look and bright colors have never looked all that great on me (maybe I'm putting it on wrong, but bright colors make me look like an old korean aunt who's trying too hard..). So this paint pot for me was really lovely. I like to layer different colors on like vintage pinks, purples and other neutral tones. It just makes everything a more of a champagne tinted color that's oh so fabulous!
I love shiny and sparkly and this just makes my matte shadows sparkle like they've never sparkled before (because really...matte shadows don't sparkle...LOL)
Before buying, my friend and I tried layering some of MAC's Peacocky metallic eyeshadows. It didn't work so well for the darker colors but with the lighter colors, it really gave it that champagne tinge.
We tried other dark shadows not from the Peacocky collection and it really gave it that sparkly diamante like look. If you add just a little bit of bright blue or turquoise, you see this much softer tone that looks creamy and rich, not faded (like you put on drugstore brand eyeshadow without primer).
Because it's so versatile and won't change the original color (only the hue), you could basically layer any color on it; it's a definite buy!
Finally, it doesn't crease if you use eye primer. I like Too Faced shadow insurance. Also, I'm a monolid, monolids don't really...well...crease! LOL!
Bottomline: Really versatile for layering, beautiful sparkles that add that extra oomph to your shadows, reasonable price for the amount of product, won't change the original color of shadows (will only lighten and brighten), would use daily, a must buy over and over and over again!
BTW: the picture above really doesn't do the actual colors any justice, you HAVE to go in and swatch your own colors to see the true effect. <3

I would possibly buy this again if it were not limited edition. That being said, I do love this paint pot. It looks so beautiful on it's own with winged eye liner and either bold or red lips. Beware- as previously noted by many other reviewers it IS VERY GLITTERY, Glittery but absolutely beautiful. It is one of those products that from a far it does not appear you have much on until someone is pretty close up. It truly is beautiful and gives a polished look. Unfortunatley, it does tend to crease pretty easily. I have found this to be the case with most of the shimmery paint pots though. This one just happended to be a little worse than any of the others I own at this time. I do believe I will be going back for two more of the paint pots from this collection.

Gave mine away to my young soon to be daughter in law. NOT FOR MATURE LADIES. I love love love MAC paint pots. I love the darker color in this set. BUT this one did nothing but accentuate EVERY wrinkle I had in the lids and above the lids of my eyes. In fact three out of four of these paint pots did just that. Even with the dark one I have to be very careful to keep the application just to my lid. I should have know better of course. It is just that I so love the paint pots. But - from now on I will stick to the more matte like ones. Certainly NOT going for these glittery ones. I know they must look fantastic on younger (15-40?) gals but on older woman; especially over 50 NO WAY! I should be shot! lol - oh well - I love make up. Go ahead. Shoot me!

Does this look good on everybody? I love the icy gold sheerness of this paint pot. Personally I use it as a base as it layers so nicely with neutrals. It's a great highlight as well, very versatile.

I love this color. It's an icy gold and fits perfectly with the collection's theme of champagne. It's probably a color that I won't be using a whole lot right now because of the season, but this will be the PERFECT color to swipe on real quick in the summer. Love it!
