Have tried many AHAs and BHAs and this works the best for me, because it is so gentle. I thought I might tolerate it better, but didn't expect it to do much, but it is quite powerful. I have a lot of dead skin in my pores and I flake out and break out. I have dry red patches on the nose and near it. Exfoliating is the only thing that helps, but overdoing it can send me into a tailspin and make it worse. This has reduced the redness and fast, with no tailspin. The weekly is needed deal with buildup and breakout attacks that I still get. It's a drag it takes 2 products and expensive, but you can fine tune how much you use of each. I use this with the Barrier Repair Moisturizer for the retinol, to even out skin tone and attack dark spots. I have many more good days with these products. Overall PC products are hit or miss for me and some too drying and some break me out, but this is great. CS is helpful about refunds and store credit and sending samples. Glad I finally tried this.

Just amazing. I struggle with hyperpigmentation (all i have to do is look at a pimple for it to be like WHAT DID YOU SAY, I'LL SHOW YOU and then its this gross reddish purple spot for months) and very uneven skin tone (bright red areas next to my nose, woohoo). Within a week this has signifigantly reduced them and just made my skin beautiful. I'm so incredibly happy. Everything is awesome.

I got this product a while ago, when my skin wasn't in it's best mood. I use it with a PC toner, moisturizer, sunscreen and twice a week I use the 10% AHA treatment, and I LOVE it! It makes my skin soft, radiant (never had radiant skin without make up!), and blemishes vanish in no time! I think most of the credit goes to the daily smoothing treatment. My very sensitive skin can handle the daily 5% of AHA perfectly. I'm a huge fan of this product, of PC's products in general. Never thought I would ever find it, but this is my HG line!

I bought this product since it's a convenient daily exfoliant to use on sensitive skin like mine. I was happy to read that it contains both aha and bha and that it includes some antioxidants and anti-irritants to help in the daily restoration of skin. The consistency is a very pleasant gel-creme and the smell is a little off-putting but absolutely tolerable. After a few weeks of use I noticed that I have more clogged pores and whiteheads than usual (I usually don't get congested skin unless it's product induced; I suffer mostly from cysts). I attribute it to the cetyl alcohol which is a pretty clogging ingredient and is at the beginning of the list for this product. In addition, my skin didn't feel exfoliated using this compared to other ahas I've used in the past.

I liked this a lot. Since I finished my bottle of this, I've switched to a regimen of higher-potency AHAs (including the Weekly Resurfacing Treatment) alternated with BHAs. If I decide to go back to a nightly AHA treatment, this is the one I'll repurchase. To me, it smells the same as MD Formulations Vit-a-Plus Illuminating Serum and the PC 2% BHA body lotion, and I like the scent. This never irritated my skin in the least and I sometimes skipped toner and moisturizer in favor of just this. I like the airless pump, too.

I bought most of the Resist line to calm my very mild yet persistent acne. I have sensitive dry skin and this product did not irritate it. I was glad to find out i can use products with lower concentrations of AHA but it will still make a difference. It's actually better since i can use it every day without irritation and i don't have to worry about laying off of it for a few days. Its good god keeping my complexion bright. The shipping was very fast and i got it in a 20% off sale. Id repurchase

Oh boy. This made me break out big time. I'm hormonal cystic acne prone, but within a week of using this every other night my face was covered with white heads, a type of blemish I rarely suffer. After the first few times of using it, I made my skin very greasy and started clogging my pores. In the drawer it goes. I'm recovering with a very simple skincare routine.

I've been using this a few months and it's great, i might get one pimple a month now compared to quite a bit worse. I use it every night before bed and once a week i use the weekly resurfacing treatment.

I bought this as part of a complete set of the RESIST line (cleanser, toner, serum, daily exfoliator, weekly exfoliator, moisturizer w sunscreen and moisturizer w/o sunscreen). I have used the products from this set approximately half a year and noticed great improvements in my skin tone, texture and radiance.This exfoliator is so gentle and has such a nice scent. The pump delivers just the right amount of product.

I'm on my third bottle of this stuff, and I think it's great. I have noticed a difference in my skin, and it doesn't break me out (unlike other AHA's).

This product is exquisite. It works like an AHA, only better. I am not sure what the magical extra ingredients are, but I am hooked, even though it costs more than I usually would customarily spend on such a product. Paula's "Resist" line is fantastic, if a little on the expensive side.
I am 43, have no wrinkles but the "eleven" between my brows that I have had from my mid-twenties, sun damage, oily-combination skin. I am extremely cheap with products; I do not believe in spending more than $20 usually on any product, and that is stretching it. I will spring for Paula's, however, because of the difference I can feel and see in the mirror.

I only purchased this product as it came with Paula Begoun's Resist Combo Pack. Sadly this did nothing really for my skin in the long run, but I suspect it is because I have been using AHA 10% for years and my skin has adapted to a stronger strength. I won't repurchase, but I have recommended it to friends who are interested in trying AHA for the first time as it's a lower strength as it packed full of great ingredients.

I've been using this product for about a year and a half as part of a pre-emptive, keep my skin clear and smooth routine. So far, I'm happy with the results. This product feels reasonably gentle on my skin, but my skin is not especially sensitive, so YMMV. The only thing I don't like is that there is a bit of a smell, but I can live with it.

Paula’s Choice products have been a total hit-or-miss for me (unfortunately, mostly miss). However, there are a few gems that I wouldn’t give up no matter what, and now the Resist Daily Smoothing Treatment made that short list.


The product does what the name suggests: it makes my skin smoother. Don’t expect TOO big miracles though, but I think the difference is noticeable. It contains 5% glycolic acid that acts as an exfoliating agent - an amount that my super-sensitive can handle with almost daily use (I take a break if I notice my skin sensitising for different reasons). It also contains a bunch of anti-oxidants and other goodies to benefit your skin. The smell is divine too, like watermelons. No added fragrance though! The scent apparently comes from the natural Cucumis Melon (Melon) Fruit Extract. It’s on the pricey side, but definitely worth it.

At first I was unsure about this, but now that I have been using it (along with the weekly treatment) for a few months, I can definitely see a difference. It takes a while, but I can absolutely see an improvement in my skin. I will definitely be repurchasing. No reason not to - this isn't a fancy product, nor expensive, but it WORKS.

I have very fair, combination skin that is sensitive in areas.
I really wanted to love this product, especially after all the great reviews. I spent a lot of time searching for what I thought would be the best one. Unfortunately, this wasn't it.

The price is moderate, the packaging is quite convenient, and of decent quality. The smell isn't super great, but it wasn't terrible either. It certainly wasn't bad enough to make me even begin to consider not using it.

I first started using this every second day, and then every day. After about a week I noticed cystic acne coming out on chin area; I've never had cystic acne before. So I ceased using it and let it clear up. Once it was cleared up I tried it again (thinking maybe the acne was due to something else that happened to occur around the same time). Unfortunately, nodules once again began appearing under my skin. So once again, I stopped using it and let it clear up. I tried once more about a month and a half later because - like I mentioned - I really wanted to love this. Same thing though. This time I tried a different approach. I kept using it hoping maybe my skin would get used to it. It didn't. I kept using it for two and a half weeks and had to stop.

:( so I'm back to searching. There are, however, a ton of people who have a lot of success with this. Just not me.

I have been using this regularly every evening and it makes my skin feel ultra smooth and soft immediately after and the next day. I have acne prone skin and ahas usually work really well with my skin and this product has been the best aha I've used and hands down the best exfoliator.
