Based on the website's description of the color choices, I went with S125. I'm around NC25/NC30 in coloring and this color was described as a medium warm shade with yellow undertone. Sounds perfect!

WRONG! It was so orange. I applied it once, while I was at home and never left the house, just to see if I could make the color work by blending into my skin but uhhhh, no. I also hate the formulation. it applied patchy and dry.

Returning this.

I absolutely hate this foundation. I've spent $17.30 on 5 generous samples (Sephora sized) and this is the worst money spent because I cannot even use these samples. It is extremely oily and tacky, it just never dries out on your face, it just sits on top of your skin and if you even slightly touch your face it wipes off. Because it is super oily (imagine applying olive oil all over your face oily) it causes breakouts. Don't even get me started on the scent - plain disgusting, it smells like went bad broccoli oil or patchouli. I usually don't mind smell in skincare or cosmetics as long as it's a pleasant one.
If after all this you still want to try this out let me give you some tips on colors as they are much darker than what you would expect from the web description.
S090 = NW15, s100 = NW17, s110 = NW20 all with strong pink undertones
s115 = NW/NC25 with neutral undertone
This foundation can only work for someone with super and I mean super dry skin.
BTW my skin is combination and I am NW15, the 1st color was not a bad color choice.
I hope this helps.

I tried this product in a salon and fell in love with it, based on the sample they gave me. My skin never looked so good. I thought I had finally found the perfect product for my dull, sensitive skin. But the I ordered it. They changed the scent and apparently the salon I went to had a sample of the old scent, which was quite nice. The new scent is horrible. My husband said I smelled awful. It gave me a terrible headache and I had to wash it off. What a shame! I thought I had found a great product after years of searching. Vapour....PLEASE change the scent! I want to order this again!

I have been using this product since 2010 and really loved it. I just purchased it again straight from Vapour's web site and was shocked to find that they changed the scent of the product. It used to have a really nice fruity smell. Now it reeks of musty mold. Really horrible. After contacting their customer service (thinking there was a problem with what I ordered), they replied that "We have modified our scent by removing the citrus component for International compliance". So if you liked the previous fruity smell, watch out! I see another review that likens the smell to patchouli and that's pretty accurate (thought they didn't seem to mind it as much as I did). If it wasn't for the smell, I would be giving this product a 4 or 5. But with the moldy smell, I've found it 100% unusable. What a shame!

Let me start by saying that this review is based solely on samples. Also, to be completely fair, I did not wear them over my entire face (just chin, & some spot areas on my cheeks & forehead).

I wanted to write something anyway to give folks an idea before they spend $15 for 3 small foundation colors, & a tiny pat of concealer & lipstick.

My first impression of the foundation was that the colors were darker than online, & they separated. I chalked this up to settling in transit, & that the foundation is primarily oil based, but upon vigorous shaking, stirring with a q-tip, & even my finger....I could still see separation.

Upon application it seemed to be better, but I wasn't a huge fan of the texture either. I don't like matte foundation, or overtly dewy. This falls in-between, but seemed kinda heavy & like it wouldn't blend well.

The concealer was ok. I applied it in larger areas than the foundation actually, but it broke me out. I imagine it was the castor oil...

To Vapour's credit, the sample pack came with a color guide, and even an "how-to" sheet for a full makeup look.

I know people love this line, & because I didn't give it a full trial, I still gave it a couple lippies. However, for such an expensive foundation, I can't see myself purchasing the full sizes based on the samples.

I love this foundation. Took a chance and ordered online and am pleased the color I picked is a very good match. If you go to the Vapour Organic Beauty website they give good descriptions and show model's also to give you an idea. My skin looks hydrated and smooth as silk even though I have pores on the larger size. It is pricey but worth it. Comes in a hygenic pump bottle. I have normal to dry "mature" skin. My coloring is nc/nw20 for reference. The color I picked is 115 (maybe a tad dark, but blends beautifully).

If I could use only one word to describe this product, it would be "Wow". This is the only foundation that I have ever tried in my life that actually makes my skin look good even without wearing it. What I mean is that with other foundations, liquid or mineral, my skin looked like a wreck when I wasn't wearing it. Vapour Organic's Soft Focus foundation is incredibly lightweight, it doesn't feel like I am "caked on" with makeup when I wear it. The finish is slightly dewy, but the website describes the finish as "satin". The smell is a bit like patchouli, which I don't mind. I am medium olive/tan. I actually bought two shades, the s125 and the s135. I use the s125 all over my face, then use the s135 as a subtle bronzer since it's slightly more golden than. The result is a clear complexion with a healthy glow. It is on expensive the expensive side ($48) but I don't use much product when I apply it, so it will probably last for a while. Another thing is I have extremely sensitive skin (eczema/ acne prone), and I have not had any problems with irritation or breaking out. I definitely plan on repurchasing!

I would be a customer for life, if only they had a better range of colors for fair skin. Usually people complaint about oily appearance and making their pores look bigger, mine is only about color. I tried 115 and 125 both are supposed to be on the yellow side, but really aren't. They're just too damn orange/pink. I know fair skin appears more pink (cool), but in some cases that is due to it's undertone or rosacea. Everything is more noticeable on fair/light skin like acne or broken capillaries, that doesn't mean you need pink or orange toned foundation. If I put 115 on my face it looks pinkysh orange and the rest of my body is light golden yellow. So please Vapour, make one very light yellow version of this otherwise heaven in a bottle and I promise, I won't buy anything else ...ever again.

I am in love with this foundation! It’s funny I never used to wear liquid foundation until I tried this.. I have oily and acne prone skin so I was too afraid to use anything creamy or liquid base makeup, but after hearing about the vapour organic beauty products and how they only use 70% organic ingredients and 30% natural minerals & vitamins I had to try it. I'm glad I did! My skins is reacting better than any mineral powder I used before and trust me I used so many different kinds.. It covers my redness and it looks flawless.. I realized that the main reason I was breaking out was because I was using the wrong products that had harmful ingredients. So if you have acne prone skin I recommend to research the products you are using and find out what ingredients they have that are making you break out..

I got a sample of the Soft Focus for fun when I was trying out the Luminous formulation. I didn't want to like it because of how expensive it is but...I like it more than Luminous. Not by a lot, but enough.

I sampled it in shade 115, and it's a pretty good match. I think I need to try 110 before I commit to one shade or another because, like Luminous 115, I think it makes my face look pink, which is bizarre. I'm probably the only person who notices, though.

This provides light coverage with fingertip application, which I appreciate. It diffuses my red cheeks wonderfully, and I can use it in my t-zone without turning into an oily mess (not the case for Luminous). I feel less comfortable wearing this without powder than with Luminous, and I feel like I have to use a bit more, but they both accomplish similar things. This feels like less make-up than Luminous to me, and it's definitely better for summer.

Smells pretty good, doesn't settle into lines or pores, stays put through the work day...this is a good foundation. Be warned that samples of this are a mess, though; they come in a little paint pot and the oil in this product just sweats through the packaging. You can mix it back in, but it is a little gross.

I haven't committed to it, but it's still an option.

I've ordered a sample kit from Vapour to determine the color and their sales rep answered my email quite efficiently and helped me to pick up the right shade. When I first received this sample shade 110 which is the second lightest in a little jar I thought no this looks too dark and yellowish, but when I put it on my face, it just melted in and matched my skin perfectly. It feels smooth and very light but did offer quite good coverage considering that the product it's very liquidy. The smell is definitely a big plus, it's fruity and fresh unlike other organic foundations. As for staying power, its not super long lasting and did smear a little bit especially on the areas that I applied concealer, so I can't tell if is the concealer or the foundation itself that's been wore off. Compare to so many other natural foundation I have tried, this is so far the best and I'm soon going to order a full size one. Oh, the other downside maybe the price being a bit high $50 and the shipping cost to Australia is very expensive as well. Hope they can sort out a cheaper way to ship overseas in the future.

I have tried a ton of foundations looking for a holy grail product. I've tried just about every brand from the department stores, and had finally found one I love (Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua). However, I recently became interested in using a product that is more natural and organic for everyday wear. I used this foundation in both S100 and S110. They actually both seemed to work for me, which is odd. The S100 is lighter and pinker, while 110 is more yellow and slightly darker. I have tan freckles, but pale rosy skin, so I would say my complexion is pretty neutral. (In the Chanel foundation, I wear BR10, if that's helpful to you). My skin has rosy patches that need balancing out, and the Vapour works quite well for that.

The consistency is very hydrating when you put it on. Great for winter, though not greasy. I don't have any trouble spreading it to make it look even like I do with many others I've tried. It has light coverage, but I find it works surprisingly well to cover up my undereye circles. For a pimple though, it requires a little more concealer.

I like that the packaging has a pump for hygienic reasons, and it's also convenient that you can apply it with your fingers. It works really well overall.

When I start using this foundations, I tought it was great and finally found my organic foundation, as it has high coverage and didn't break me out. The smell of it is wonderful. Scents like oranges. But my skin is combination/oily and I like matte finish for my foundations and Vapour let a really shiny and oily finish. Yes, I know the foundation has tons of oils in its formulation, but I have a organic tinted mostuirizer with oils in its formula with matte finish. After applying powder to set the makeup, the shiny reduces a little, but come back in an hour...And this is not a really nice foundation if you're going to take night photos with flash: your face will look greasy and shiny at flash light.
I think it's best for people with really dry skin and who likes luminous finish, because for me, I don't think it's the best foundation, as I like matte finish.

I've been meaning to try organic foundations because I've had no luck in trying Mineral Makeup- they usually left parts of my face red and itchy (even the ones without bismuth). I've tried another liquid mineral foundation from Australia called Mirenesse- but the colour doesn't match.

I tried this mainly in winter/ spring and got the sample size in 125 - perfect match for my then medium to light tan, golden/ olive skin (NC30-35). It's got medium coverage, looks natural and healthy on instead of overly matte, shimmery or chalky. Doesn't make my face red, itchy or leaves me with more breakouts. Also smells sweet and fruit like.

I have combo- oily skin and this doesn't make my skin shiny in the colder months, even though I've packed on the moisturiser (make sure to wait a couple of mins for moisturiser to be absorbed first).

I don't really wear foundation in summer, but have used this several times on nights out & weekends (shade 135 &140). I found it best to prep your skin first with an non alcoholic organic toner and the tiniest amount of moisturiser- since this is already a bit moisturising. My face did get a little oily and I still have to blot every once in a while- but I have to do that even w/o makeup.

Ideally i have to get 2, or even 3 shades because i get a lot darker in summer. I've tried 140 but it's a too red, so if they come out with a 145 for golden/olive skin it would be great! Another thing is it's expensive if you need more than 1 shade with only 1 year shelf life. But it's got great clean ingredients and still is cheaper than most of the designer brands.

I was very disappointed in the product and had been very hopeful that i would like it due to it's non toxic ingredients. I ordered samples from the vapour website for $15. The texure was extremely oily and just laid on my skin - didn't blend and looked very bright, shiny and odd. I can't beleive this makeup would work on anyone and I made a profile on makeupalley to save others the waste of time and money to try this product. I'm very sad.

This is a lovely velvet-silky feel foundation that does deliver a 'soft focus' look. Unfortunatley the palest colour is actually not that light and is a full shade or more too dark for me.
I would consider buying again if they introduce a paler colour.

I really like this product. I have very sensitive skin, and this doesn't break me out. The color match is also fairly good. I have very fair skin, so I have the lightest shade. It is maybe slightly too dark, but not by much, maybe half a shade. I apply Jane Iredale finishing power over this, and it stays shine free for most of the day. I also use their cream blush, and their concealer.

This foundation is pretty special.

Usability: The packaging is very nice, using a sanitary pump that doesn't dispense too much product. The product itself is a little thick, but blends easily into the skin. The color selection is wonderful offering warm and cool colors. I use the S115 for my fair, warm skin in the winter and I'll probably try the S120 for summer.

Coverage: I would say about medium; sometimes I use a little RMS uncover-up to cover any major flaws that are still peaking through.

Price: Expensive, but a little goes a long way. I usually need one small pump to cover my face.

Wear/Appearance: This product is beautiful-it blends nicely into the skin, and handles flakes pretty well. Sometimes when my skin is extremely dry, you can see some flakes, but that is easily remedied with some moisturizer. It should be noted that I live in an extremely dry and cold climate, so dry skin is a constant battle. However when I was in wet Seattle, I had no problems with breaking out.

Overall, a very successful organic beauty product, I highly recommend it!

After nearly 3 months of use, my skin has never looked better both with and without this foundation. I have oily, light/med. tan skin with olive undertones and use S125.

+
very blendable, creamy texture with medium coverage
effect is just as stated: soft-focus, radiant
has a lovely, faint scent of apples and flowers (no synthetic fragrances are added to this product)
all-natural ingredients are 70% certified organic and very nourishing - feels like a luxurious treatment instead of makeup!

-
have to follow up light scarring and the occasional blemish with concealer (I use RMS un-cover up sparingly on top)
expensive, but keep in mind the $48 1 oz. container lasts 3-4 months with daily use

Just FYI: I've found that my skin is in its best shape with a dairy-free diet high in vegetables and low in wheat and sugar, along with a daily multi and cod liver oil supplement.

I have finally found the perfect foundation! I am a fair olive and the s120 shade is perfect on me. the 115 shade works very well too, but makes me a tiny bit more pale than the 120. The minerals blend and melt into the skin and almost match my skin so that no one can tell I am wearing any makeup when I wear either the 115 or 120. I love the way this product leaves the skin looking radiant and somehow controls shine all day, yet isn't drying at all. I have FINALLY found the foundation that I have been waiting for! LOVE LOVE this product and look forward to trying more from this line. If you call Vapour they can send samples...they don't advertise this, but I called and they sent me samples and charged $10 for shipping.
