I love this highlighter. I prefer cream highlighters like this one better than liquid high lighters (like Benefit's High Beam) as it blends a lot better. High Beam seems to dry in patches sometimes, or just doesn't blend in with my foundation.

I have previously used Max Factor's Shimmer Stick as well, but that was really thick and had big shimmer particles that looked obvious. This highlighter looks really natural, and it's hard to tell if I've got a high lighter on, or if I'm just glowing naturally. I use it on my cheek bones mainly, and a bit on my nose and chin.

This is my all-time fave. Been using it for probably about twenty years, and it lasts FOREVER, and somehow seems to blend in and remain true to colour. The scent is lovely and it is brilliant now to cover the broken blood vessels/redness on my cheekbones that seem to be hitting with age. I have warm skin and this is a cool-coloured highlighter. Subtle, but very clever as a multipurpose tool. I have taken mine travelling, have kids that have used it as facepaint, etc. Brilliant.

If you have had problems in the past with highlighters, it was either because of
(a) The glitter bomb effect
(b) ashen matte appearance or
(c) too pink/yellow or
(d) too dark/light.

Because of that, to be safe I always try to stick to light ivory-colored highlighters like this one because ivory works well on both yellow & pink under tones (no color clash). This gives a very natural finish, it's luminous/shimmery/frosty without being obviously sparkly or glittery.

This is great if you want a subtle luminous glow, but I emphasize the word 'subtle' because as soon as you powder the face, the luminous effect decreases a fair bit...so...either powder extremely lightly or smother on a heap of illuminiser! Sadly, that's often the problem with all cream-based highlighters. If you are put off, perhaps opt for a powder highlighter instead, but remember that the highlighters that give the most natural I'm-born-with-this-skin glow are the fluid-containing ones: the liquid ones and the creme ones
