This is a great, basic, no-frills mascara. It is a waxier formula, is buildable, very black and you can get any look from very natural or very black, thick fringe. I have naturally sweeping lashes and it accentuates the curl.
There are many more pros than cons, the biggest pro being the price. At $1 a pop, you can toss it after a month and still only spend $12 annually for a bang -up mascara. This brings me to the cons -- the first week or two the mascara is GREAT! But after a couple of weeks, the texture begins to change and it gets clumpier and drier in the tube and on the lashes. It also begins to flake. But when that happens, I just toss and open a new one.
I buy these at least two at a time and will continue to do so.

Great every day mascara for me. Didn`t notice any lengthening, but I have long lashes anyway. Didn`t clump, smudge or flake, gave a nice natural look. Very easy on the pocketbook!

The worst mascara I have ever tried. It's only a dollar so you can't expect Diorshow results but I picked it up because I was in need of a mascara and I figured it can't be that bad. The consistency of the pigment is very gooey and hard to work around. Also a lot of the product sticks to the wand so I have the dab it onto the tube. When I apply it my lashes clump together to the point that I looked like I only had a few lashes. I threw it away after the first time I applied and I had to redo my whole makeup. Would never repurchase.

this is only a dollar. probably the worst mascara i've ever tried. it did lengthen and define but it clumped together so badly. i felt like someone glued my eyelashes together or something. it was a very heavy formula. plus the packaging, i hate it soo much. it's so thin and when you get the wand out you waste a lot of product. not to mention the wand sucks. i hate this and i wouldn't recommend. don't even waste a dollar on this.

I see this product is getting a lot of negative reviews, but for a dollar you are going to probably have that. I really liked it and I describe it as doing what my Maybelline Falsies should have done. I really really like this mascara.

very dry formula
clumps lashes together like glue
i'll pass on the crusty flake-fall.

The first time I tried this mascara, I was horrified. It was a clumpy mess. I quickly learned that you have to scrape the brush against the opening of the tube to clean it off a bit. This in turn leads to product seeping and drying over the edge of the tube, but that's what you get for the price. This gives sort of a pretty clumpy look. It doesn't give a long, fanned out, millions of lashes look. It basically plays up a few lashes and clumps them together without looking messy. If you apply it correctly, you can get a nice, lengthened look. This is not a mascara for first time users, as it's extremely difficult to work with in the beginning. But with patience, experience, and technique, this mascara is doeable. And hello, what an awesome price! One dollar!

This would have to be the worst mascara I have ever tried.
Left my lashes clumped together with too much product.
The brush is useless, too thick with product and does not apply well to the lashes with no lift or separation.
Used on two occasions and left me with a lumpy mess which I had to clean off and start again, with a better mascara.
I prefer the ELF studio mascara.

I have never actually purchased this on its own. I have always got this within kits purchased off of E.L.F.'s website. This mascara is not of good quality at all. I highly recommend avoiding using it all together!
Age: 36-43 Skin: Very Oily, Medium Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
This mascara did absolutely nothing to my lashes; it didn't lengthen them and it certainly didn't define them. The formula is a little on the dry side. I will not buy this mascara again.

Honestly not too shabby for a $1 mascara! I bought this on a whim b/c I have this obsession with mascaras and I have to put one in my basket every time I'm at a Target (sigh).
Formula is not too wet/not too dry
Brush is perfect size for my small eyes
Better at volumizing than lengthening
Easy to remove
Does NOT hold a curl
Not really defining or lengthening
Too much product on the brush

I will not rebuy this product:(
Reasons why I will not rebuy this product:
1) It clumps REAL BAD :0
2) The aplicator is terrible
3) Drys in bottle:(
I got this in the holiday season at gordmans
I love E.L.F it is very nice but this product sucks:''''''(

Crappiest mascara I`ve ever tried :( It did not dry! When I touched my eyelashes several hours after applying, they were sticky and clung together. Wow.

I bought this mascara in a holiday set for $3, which came with black, dark brown, and clear mascara. So it's incredibly cheap! And though it is not waterproof, it does not smudge and is easy to take off. It does thicken and lengthen my lashes, though not as much as I usually prefer. I like to use these on days when I want a more natural look, and for that, they do their job well!
The only major problem I have with these is the packaging. It's almost like there is just way too much product crammed in the tubes, so it tends to glob out. If you don't wipe the tip of the wand with the tissue, it can be quite messy. I don't like how it basically forces you to waste product. However, once you use the tube up halfway, the problem is basically gone.
I most likely will repurchase, especially if they are sold individually. I love the clear mascara the most for keeping brows in place.

Worst crap I have ever bought, the low price doesn't smooth over how horrible this mascara is. I bought both black and brown when I last ordered from elf and both of them have been such a let down!
The formula is too dry and no matter how much I use it almost doesn't show up on my lashes at all..! Sure I have wuite black lashes to begin with but I have never ever tried a mascara that does so little for my lashes.
Cant recommend to anyone, I have thrown both away. Will NEVER buy again.
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Dry, Fair, Warm Hair: Blond, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Blue
It really didn't do anything for my lashes, they were just black. Even when I curled them before applying, it barely did anything. It was much better for my bottom lashes, but still not that good.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Oily, Fair, Cool Hair: Brunette, Wavy, Medium Eyes: Green
This is the worst mascara ive EVER tried. Its seems like it dried out immediately. The wand is ridiculous. So cheap and ugly. The formula is clumpy and thick. I couldnt coat my lashes, the mascara was so thick that it didnt come off the wand.
It was cheap, but still, waste of money.

Money is getting a little tight, so came to Makeup Alley for some help and I totally found it! This mascara is great!!! A little bit of Flakey-ness at the end of night, but at the END. Be aware though that is not the same as the lengthening and volumizing, make sure that you're getting the triple pack. Thank you makeup alley!!!!! And last but ,especially not least $3.00!!!!!!!!! I will be buying again and again!
Age: 19-24 Skin: Normal, Fair, Warm Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
Quite happy with this product - its affordable (hello $10 for a mascara and two eyeliners!) and it WORKS! I love how its pigmented, it lengthens and it holds my lashes!

Got this for $3 at Target... I was buying expensive mascara for years...WAY WAY too long. I read the reviews and LOVE this. I will never again spend more then a few dollars on mascara again. The consistency is perfect...not clumpy...very buildable. Will absolutely buy again!!
