Picked this up on sale and maybe it was on sale because it was old. The first couple of times I used it, I got nice separated black lashes. After that, the wand came out clumpy and the mascara was too thick. Good black color, however. Better ones out there that last longer- won't repurchase.

Personally, I love this mascara. I have bought a few mascaras after this and always find myself going back to this one. I have short stubby asian lashes and after curling and applying, I get a nice decent length. I don't have a smearing problem and I don't get clumps. Definitely will continue to use this throughout the future.

I just threw my L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara in the trash after testing it out for 2 weeks. This mascara did give me alot of volume and length and I liked the fact that it was very black. The problem was that it smeared something awful on me. Everytime I would look in the mirror I would have two black eyes. It also was very difficult to wash off at night, even using cold cream. I went back to using Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume Mascara which isn't quite HG and I just ordered Jordana Extreme Lash to try out. Hopefully the Jordana mascara will work out beter for me then L'Oreal Voluminous.

This is my every-day mascara! I have naturally dark and quite long lashes, but these make them even better! I pair it with Sephora's Full Action 'Extreme Effect' mascara, and it is great! Blackest black is a great color for me, and removal is easy, while the product does not smudge throughout the day. Highly recommended.

First of all, I gotta say this mascara really gets the job done and I would recommend it to anyone. Some people think the formula leaves the lashes too wet, but I found that it gives volume and length and although it could be darker in color, it still is very black. This mascara is great for day to night hangouts.

This seemed to be everyones HG mascara so i figured i would have to jump on the band wagon and try it out. The first few times using it, i was not a fan. It was very wet and made my lashes stick together and look kind of spidery :/ But once i let it dry out a little I used it again and liked it a lot! It made my lashes long, thick and dark! This is a good mascara for a night out or a smokey look but still isnt my HG mascara... I prefer "My Biggest Lashes" to this and i would suggest anyone who likes Voluminous try my biggest lashes and tell me what you think!

This is it! This is my holy grail mascara! It must be. I will wear this for awhile and then get bored. I'll try something new, get bored with that, and come back to this. I then wonder why i left this mascara. I'm sold... until i get bored again. Then i will return to this.
I love this because it doesn't flake, adds length, dramatic volume, with lush lashes. Love it!

I have tried soooo many different mascaras over the years: Cover Girl Lash Blast and Lash Blast Fusion, Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping (epic fail) Dior show(eh) and Benefit Bad Gal ( good but expensive) I feel so bad for cheating on my Voluminous because honestly there is nothing better out there.
For the record, I have the lamest eyelashes on the planet. They are thick but super short and stick straight. I have to curl them and layer my mascara to make them look like they even exist. This mascara is the ONLY one that preserves my painstakingly created curls. I can easily layer as many coats of this as i want and it never clumps or makes my lashes spiky or crispy feeling. Lately ive had problems with various mascaras irritating my eyes ( Lash Blast) but this never does.
I've never described a product as Holy Grail but as I type this I know this is my Holy Grail. If I ever have the audacity to cheat on this again, I deserve what ever I get, but I know that Voluminous will always patiently wait for me and welcome me back.

Love it! I have been a faithful Lancome mascara user, until I have tried this! I can actually say that I would not mind wearing one or the other, and that is huge :)

I've been using this mascara for a few years now because it's definitely my favorite. I love getting thick, dark, long eyelashes and this provides that bold look that I love. I've used the Carbon Black one as well, but for me, the Blackest Black formula is a lot better & darker. It's smooth and really easy to use, you can create a soft look with just a few swipes of this mascara, or add on a few more for those fake lashes look.
It doesn't get clumpy until a couple of months, and that's when it's best to get a new one. It hasn't ever dried out for me either! My favorite mascara so far!

I've been using Voluminous for more than 10 years - I've tried all different types of mascaras - drugstore, department, etc - but I keep coming back to Voluminous. I love the thickening quality and I don't tend to have clumping issues, though I can see how that would be an issue, as the formula is quite thick. I usually scrape off a bit as I'm taking the wand out of the tube. I like both the waterproof and the regular formulas. It doesn't seem to lengthen or curl very much, so just keep that in mind. It's definitely not for everyone, but it's a pretty decent bargain (usually between $7 and $9, I've found), and it's my HG of mascara!
*I tend to use this mascara on top of the primer side of the L'Oreal Double Extend mascara/primer duo - the combined effect gives me the length I want.

In the past, I was a devoted Voluminous mascara user. I loved the way that it thickened my lashes and made my lashes seem miles long. After craving something "more" from a different mascara that I had been using, I went back to Voluminous. I was very disappointed. When the formula is wet (new), it clumps quite badly on the brush which results in a lot of clumping on my lashes. It does nothing to curl my lashes and while it does make them thicker, it is just not the effect that I was craving. I now have to apply this mascara and follow it with a sweep or two of my Cover Girl mascara (to hold a curl and lengthen). It seems the formula for Voluminous has changed in the last few years and not for the better. I will finish this tube but I won't be repurchasing this again.
I do want to add that it does seem to stand up to a trip to the gym and a blubber fest during a chick flick. Bonus marks for durability. :)

By far one of the best mascara's out there! Please ALWAYS ask me what mascara I use and this is it!! I love it!!

I've read reviews about this mascara. I've read how it thickens & lengthens blah blah blah. Soooo, I stashed my HG Mascara in order to try this out only to once again be disappointed with a drugstore brand mascara. It seemed to dry out quickly & I didn't have the same great results everyone else raves about. Nope. I'll stick with my Cargo HG mascara - this one is getting tossed!
