I love this conditioner! I don't know about it making your hair grow faster, but it makes your hair so so so soft! I also notice that it helps to control the frizz. It is so cheap and you get so much product! I love it!

I don't even use this garbage on my horse so I don't know why people are using this on their hair. It leaves a sticky waxy oily residue and is full of nothing but cheap chemicals. Really disgusting

I tried this conditioner periodically throughout my younger adult years, and always ended up disappointed. After a few uses, it would leave my hair crunchy, straw-like, dull and unmanageable from the protein overload and buildup. I finally stopped purchasing it altogether and haven't used it in years.


Now that I've hit my mid-thirties, however, my hair has changed and the products I've been using consistently no longer work for my hair. My hair has been looking dull, limp and lifeless. Arggg, my hair is aging! I decided to try Mane 'n Tail again to see if it would help. It does! I've been using the conditioner for two months now and there's no sign of protein overload or buildup of any kind. My hair is soft, full of bounce and volume, and my waves/curls came back to life!


I'm so glad I decided to give this another chance. Now I'm looking forward to trying the herbal version, as well as the deep treatments and styling products!

I have VERY thin and oily hair. I have, for most of my life, never been able to use conditioners, because no matter what I used, my hair would get instantly greasy. With this conditioner that is never the case! I LOVE this product! I can leave it in for 3 min straight, and after rinsing it out and drying my hair, it feels soft but not weighed down! If you have thin hair or oily hair this is your new best friend!

I have healthy naturally curly hair (mulatto, Brazilian type), I did notice a difference just after 2 uses. My hair was definitely softer and had more volume. Although the first few times it was drying and my scalp was itchy. My hair was more tangled but I think it was b/c it needed moisture. I recommend moisturizing your hair with something after washing. I read too many bad reviews about the shampoo so I nvr bought it and I'm not going to.. Did leave it overnight and my curls did looks healthier the following day. Read to receive the best results you must alternate, so I plan on doing so. I used it for a week and I see growth but I do have healthy hair so I'm unsure if it's solely the product. Got the big bottle in the animal section @ Walmart for $9.98

As my sister has decided to go for a 'nymph' theme for her wedding (don't ask...) I was getting pretty desperate about growing my short hair long for her wedding in the hopes that I would look less stupid in the flowing bridesmaid dress. I bought mane n tail shampoo and conditioner after hearing the great reviews about it.

However, after using it for about five months which is as long as the big litre bottles lasted, I don't think it made my hair grow any faster. But it did leave my hair soft and well conditioned. The conditioner is good and detangles my hair even after the biggest knots have found their way into it. I didn't notice any product build-up and normally this happens with most shampoo and conditioners.

I won't be buying it again though for two reasons 1) It cost a lot to get it shipped to the uk and 2) The smell or lack of smell left me sad - I like fruity smells on my hair.

So about a year ago my hair was completely dry and damaged. It wouldn't grow because what would grow would just end up breaking since it was so damaged. After a couple of months i ended up buying this product and after and with proper care and trims my hair is finally growing! I don't know if it was entirely because of this product but i definitely feel that it made my hair more healthy. After a shower my hair feels soft and moisturized and is no longer dry, I highly recommend this!

I have used this for five months, and have found that this product has no purpose but to make my hair feel residue-y and disgusting. It does not make my hair softer, it has not made my hair grow any longer, and after using this I feel like I have to wash my hair all over again. Also, this might have made my hair fall out more.

I trudged to the store with my unsightly hair in hopes that I would come across a miracle conditioner to save me from my agony. Any feeling of hope had escaped me prior to purchase, for I had such dehydrated, wispy, greasy, flaky, limp, lifeless, and overall unmanageable locks which were uninviting eye. However, when I stumbled upon Mane n' Tail I had remembered the wonderful things I've heard and decided to pick it up. After I had used a tad later that night my hair was immediately transformed. This conditioner literally had my hair in the best shape it has ever been in! Well of course taking into consideration that the past shampoo and conditioner I used before had been crap it was a wonderful upgrade. If you feel as if all hope is lost for your hair, I strongly recommend purchasing this.

I just bought this product today after seeing good things about it online. Anyway, I just used the mane n tail shampoo and conditioner and used a hair dryer to dry my hair. I love the way this product made my hair feel!! I love it so much that im actually writing a review about it.. and that says a lot because usually i cAnt be bothered to do stuff like this. LOVE LOVE LOVE my hair is so soft and shiny and healthy looking now. i cant wait until it grows longer like its supposed to..!! i absolutely recommend this product if you want healthy, glowing hair. ALSO it looks shiny without looking greasy like other productstend to do. i have tried a lot of products that claim to make hair shiny and leave it greasy, but this product makes it soft, light, and healthy feeling. great for horses, great for humans!! finally the price is great!! 5.97 i paid per bottle at walmart and they are big bottles!! compared to other high end products, this is a steeeeeeeeeal!

So I just used Mane n Tail for the first time today. My hair is blonde and damaged; it always looked fried!! After using the shampoo and conditioner my hair feels silky! It has hydrated my hair very well. I'll definitely continue to use this product

THE. BEST. EVER.

I have used high end conditioners in the hope of reviving my lackluster locks. Never has any product looked so well.

For those who are having issues with this conditioner, you hair may be protein sensitive. Instead of fortifying the hair, it just builds up and ends up making your hair a frizzy mess.


If you aren't protein sensitive, then you are in LUCK! This stuff is awesome! Just make sure to use this every other day, that way you can clarify the hair and the protein does not build up on the hair.

i love this conditioner! i have medium-thick wavy hair. i get a dusting on my ends every two weeks, and a trim (includes shaping up my layers) every four to six weeks. i take really good care of my hair, but it's always so dry and dull regardless.

then along came mane 'n tail conditioner.

i usually let my hair air dry, especially now in the summer when i'm not looking to add extra heat damage to it. it comes out as these pretty beachy waves naturally. so i washed my hair with whatever shampoo i had in the shower (i think it was redken, but sometimes it's suave. i don't usually care about the shampoo i use), then i conditioned from mid-shaft to my ends. i left it in my hair for about five minutes. and no, i didn't rinse with cool water like recommended. i take really hot showers.

i went to sleep an hour later, and woke up with frizz-free, shinier than you can imagine hair! this conditioner is my hg for sure. and i got, like, a gallon for $7. it's amazing!

I use the matching shampoo with this. This conditioner started off nice, but ended up being a little less than average. It's slick and kind of greasy. At first it detangled my long hair really well, and made it straight (my hair is naturally straight, but with creases). After a while, like a month, I had to progressively use more and more to achieve my desired results (which is basically detangling and smoothing) from this condtioner. Now that I am at the bottle of the bottle, my hair pretty much won't detangle, even when I comb it in the shower. I will not be repurchasing.

Like I said in my shampoo review, if you want to try this stuff, buy the smaller bottle, not the giant one. Cuz this stuff might change on ya.

This is awful. I tried it, and it totally dried out my waves and curls and left waxy buildup. I gave this to my mother, who has straight/fine hair, to see if it would work better on her. She hates to it too. She said it made her hair dryer and fuzzier than a horse's! We're going to throw this away. I do NOT recommend it for any hair type. The smell is too strong, too! Worst conditioner I have ever tried.

Today is my 3rd day I used mane n tail! I only bought the conditioner. I relive it really does work! My hair is soft an bouncy! Make sure you don't sleep with wet hair or you well wake up and your hair will look like a birds nest! I used the conditioner then combed my hair and used garnier fructis leavin in cream and mixed it with some
Mane n tail conditioner for a perfect leave in!! A hair cocktail :) but anyways I'll write another review after 2 weeks of using this product! I love the big bottle because I can use as much as I want in the shower! Make sure to comb it through in the shower or it will be all knotty. I do believe in the product and hopefully my hair gets longer and thicker! Results did show up after one use! It's def worth a try :)

I have a love hate relationship with this product. After I use it my hair fills fuller after it dries, but my had gets really greasy after I use it. It doesn't matter how through I am about washing it out. My hair isn't prone to getting greasy easy buy for some unknown reason this makes it unbearably greasy for my hair (When it's time to straighten).

As for hair growth I believe it's just the hype. I find supplement pills work a lot better.

I said that I wouldn't buy this product again though, but I'm unsure. My hair still looks nice and wearable if I wore my hair curly, and it's a very affordable shampoo you can find anywhere,

I have VERY thin, fine hair (due to genetics), and this is the only conditioner I have ever found that really makes my hair feel a lot thicker. It literally makes my hair feel about twice as thick (but this is only with the one that says "texturizer" on the bottle). I use it the leave-in way (apply a nickle-sized amount to towel-dried hair). I've been using this for years, and I literally fear the day that they might discontinue it or really change the formula.

I love love love this conditioner. It smells good not fruity, or like a flower... It just smells clean and doesn't lingering after your shower. Other shampoos and conditioner's give me headaches because of the fragrance. My hair loves this conditioner it just soaks it up!!! It makes my hair so soft and shiny, plus it makes it strong!!!! So no split ends! I carry around a travel sized tube of the conditioner and when my hair gets tangled or I just want to smell it on my hair.... I rub a pea sized amount on my my dry hair my hair soaks it up and melts away my tangles!!
