Actually, I won an on-line contest which included all the eye shadow singles mentioned in the aforementioned review. Out of curiosity, I looked up all these shadows on the Estee Lauder website, and I was shocked how costly this stuff is! Yeah, the packaging is extremely rich looking feeling, even though these compacts were not easy to open at all. The good: it fell off my dresser and didn't break.

Now, on to the product - VERY underwhelming. For $20.00 for a single eyeshadow, these colors are very blah. They wouldn't do good for most people with any color in their complexion. The pigmentation is really just OK. You can buy NYX for $5.00 and get a better deal at 1/4th the cost. I want bright and strong color that packs a punch. Not this soft girly stuff. Thumbs down.

Through the convenience of GWPs (my mother is a big user of EL), I have tried 5 of the 8 Duos. I have tried:

01 - Mocha
05 - Pink Dusk
06 - Roseberry
07 - Plum Sugar
08 - Black Moon

All of them have varying satin or frosty texture. All of them are sheer and the ligher color of each duo is usually worthless and not pigmented at all. I usually depot and throw out the ligher shade and only use the darker shade because these have some subtle tones that are interesting. The darker shade in Plum Sugar is an interesting lavander bronze. Sheer, but interesting. For the regular retail price, I cannot recommend them tho. I will say that I HAVE tried the EL singles and the quads and some of them seem to be more pigmented then these.
