OPI's Marquis D'Mauve isn't mauve in any way, shape, or form. On my pale with slight yellow toned skin it's a warm medium-light copper with warm rosy undertones. The finish is shimmery and has a "lit from within" glow. The application was very smooth and opaque in three coats. Wear time was my usual OPI six to seven days with Seche Vite topcoat. IMO this is the perfect fall color and I'd definitely buy it again.

I love this color and so does my bf, it's hard to explain this but to me this looks like a shimmery version of kreme de kremlin on my nails. I have to agree with the others that this isn't really a mauve color.

This isn't quite a mauve color, but I like it better that way! It's a pretty deep dusty rose color with some shimmer. It's one of the only colors that is darker that I've ever used on my nails...and it works! I'm still sticking with my sheer nail mostly...but this is a pretty color :).
I'd repurchase if it was available, but I THINK it's been discontinued?

Not really much of a mauve, Marquis D'Mauve is a medium neutral-warm rose with rose-gold shimmer that looks really lovely with my warm skin tone (both on tips and toes). It has the same warmth and glow as OPI's Smokn' in Havana where the base shade is enhanced but not masked by the subtle shimmer. Beautiful streak-free coverage in two coats, it was pleasure putting it on as it is wearing it.

In the bottle, this color looked kind of brown to me. But it's not brown at all on the nails - it's more of a coppery rose color with microscopic gold glitters in it. I really like the color!

While this shade was easy and smooth to apply, I did have to apply three coats to get opaque color. But, even with three coats, I can still kind of see through it on the tips of my nails. It apparently takes a LOT of coats to get a completely opaque color on your nails!

I would repurchase this, even though it's so sheer, simply because the color is so beautiful.

One of my favorite OPI colors. This isn't quite mauve, but a pretty pinkish/plumish/peachish color that looks great on my hands. It's a nice fall color, though pretty enough for summer

This color is an ok toe nail color but not for hands. I am pale with a yellow undertone and it just did not look flattering on me.

In the bottle I thought that this color looked a little more reddish, but once it's on your nails, it's a lot more pinkish. This is a great color if you really like pinks, but I'm more of a dark color person. Although I would use it again on my toes! Just doesn't come out looking like it does in the bottle. Nice color, just not a favorite for me.

part of the Fall02 European collection, i have this as a mini-bottle. it came with Changing of the Garnet (which i gave to another MUAer) and Basque in the Sun.

Marquis de Mauve is an interesting color, kind of hard to describe and categorize. i see it as a metallic dark mauve with gold sparkle, although it looks brownish in the bottle. it was just a bit pink on me, not bad at all. very striking, but not flashy, if that makes ANY sense at all.

this went on very smoothly, very evenly. it is sheer, but it is easy to layer - no bumps and whatnot. it chipped within 2 days, though, just around the edges. and i did use a base and top coat this time around, AND made sure i made time for each layer to dry. after 5 days it was mostly still on.

i doubt i would repurchase this color. it's not that i didn't like it, but OPI polish lasts SO LONG that by the time i got around to repurchasing, there would have been 3 or 4 new collections by then. also, in this case the ease of application was offset by the price (7.99) and the durability (not very). i guess my final verdict is 'eh.'

This is a rose shade with a whole lot of golden shimmer. This is a very pretty shade.

A gorgeous shade -- especially for fall & winter! A dark rose with some gold shimmer! Your usual excellent OPI quality, of course!

Gorgeous, run to get this beauty! One of the new shades in the 2002 European Collection. Sort of along the same line as Senorita Rosalita one of my favorites ever. But less rose, more peachy gold. Great color for short or long nails and also toes. This is sort of hard to describe. It is a deep mauve pink with gorgeous gold in it that gives it a sort of peachy mauve look. I got the matching lipstick and it too is gorgeous. This color is perfect for my skin tone and will be a staple in my polish collection. Love it!

This is one of my new favorites---it goes on beautifully, and like Helen said, it's more of a rose-gold.

First off--this isn't really mauve at all. This is a gorgeous rose with tons of gold shimmer particles to make it a very warm color, much warmer than "mauve." Great on tips & still office friendly.
