I agree with the reviewer who said this is Club eyeshadow but for the lips! I've had this color in my stash for a couple of years but hardly wear it. It's a reddish brown with a green cast. Weird yes, but weird colors for me. It's a really strange, unique but sexy color. Definitely not for everyone. GGG NC40 I need to start wearing this color more often. It's sadly discontinued now :(
It's similar to Hyper Lipstick minus the green shimmer

Hmmm, I am sure the sticker on my lippie is Spanish Fly? On me, the color is more brownish berry with a bronzy cast. True it does look red brown with green glitter in the tube but it doesn't apply to my lips that way. I'm a Chanel Teint Fluid Universale Shell / Beige, Stila 30 watts and on me, Spanish Fly looks better when I'm paler (Shell) like in Autumn and Winter. It sits in my B2M bag most of the time, can't decide whether to keep it...because of the strong berry color on me my teeth look bright yellow when I wear this lippie no matter what season it is. I can live with the color but I'm too self conscious wearing it because of how yellow it makes my teeth look. I think I'll keep it in my B2M bag.

Very unique and interesting color. Might be hard to pull off for some.

I've wanted this color for a long time, everytime I would try it on at the counter the reaction would be so-so. Based on that I never purchased it. The beauty of MUA is that you can swap for items like that without feeling like you've wasted your money. So I got it in a swap. I like it. It reminds me of Club but for the lips. I apply it over chestnut liner and I usually work club or a soft brown eye. It fades to a brownish red color. It's not a color that I wear very often, but when I decide to pull it out - it works for me. DDD/C7

What a cool color! The description held me off for a long time, but I finally swapped for it, and I am so glad it did.
Spanish Fly is a brown-based lipstick with a dramatic metallic blue-green effect (read: go lightly w/ the eye shadow). The lasting power is so-so, but I don't mind reapplying because it's such a neat shade!

I bought this cheaply on ebay on a "feed my MAC habit" day and I was so surprised when I first opened it. Yucky brown with death green tinges. But being the determined type I had a go with it and it was so weird. This must be some sort of miracle colour because it looks fab on me. I nearly fell on the floor in surprise. I love it!!! It does need care with the eyes - neutral seems to work best on me. This is such a surprising colour in the tube but it looks strangely natural when I've got it on. I'm LLL, pink based (NW20) skin with hazel brown hair and green eyes.

True love :) Spanish Fly is one of my favorite MAC lipsticks - If you are familiar with MAC Pigments in Green Brown and Blue Brown, I'd say it contains a bit of both. It's base is a brick red infused brown, which is laced with turquoise and green iridescence. It's quite unique, and the blue-greeness of it is not outlandish. Infact, I dust a bit of Blue Brown over the top sometimes to enhance it's fly-wing sheen. I will definitely repurchase. Olive NC30.

I just B2M this and love it. After perusing the vast sea of lipsticks this one caught my eye. Some say this is Club eyeshadow reincarnated and I have to agree. Don't be put off by the colour in the tube (a very dark red brown with obvious green sheen .... almost goth) cuz it goes on a medium red brown with subtle green iridesence. So subtle in fact that I can hardly see it and then only in certain lighting and just to give the shade some dimension. If you're looking for a slap/go/no mirror YLBB look, look elsewhere. This one leaves a very polished lip look (especially with a nude lipliner for more definition) and is great for darker skintones (I'm an asian MMM). It's a frost but doesn't really come across as one and has incredible lasting power without being drying. Nice finished look .... what a surprise!

Well, this sure is a lipstick to remember! I love this color. It is fair to mention, however, that I things that are different and not mainstream very often.
SPANISH FLY lipstick by MAC is a unique color. It is a red brown base with an icy turquoise shimmer in it. If you are a MAC PIGMENT FAN, think BLUE BROWN pigment, but with less startling shimmer. It is more subdued than the pigment, and the base color of the red brown is more intense.
This lipstick looks great with coppery auburn hair, icy turquoise clothing in a warmer hue (think spring colors).
During the day,if I want to tone it down a bit, I put a layer of either MAC FORCE lipstick over it which is a glaze lipstick with a warm gray base and the same icy turquoise shimmer in it.
I also find that using it with L'OREAL COLOURJUICE gloss in CARAMEL CREME adds a nice dimension. That color is a translucent beige with icy lime green shimmer in it.
I love the texture of SPANISH FLY. It is very moisturizing and lasts longer than many lipsticks when on. I have a big problem with lipsticks drying out my lips in the winter and this is one of the few lipsticks that does not do that on me. The color will fade some after application, so it is not as dark as it looks at first, but the moisturizing stays strong.
I love this lipstick color and texture. I find that with the right hair color and clothing colors, it looks tremendous. I like to echo the color by using MAC PIGMENT IN BLUE BROWN as an accent on my eyes. It nicely ties it all in for me.
I do not want to forget to mention that the fragrance of this lipstick is not awful either. I have been nauseated by many different lipsticks, but this is one that does not bother me. It has a slightly vanilla taffy sort of fragrance to my nose.

No one could be more surprised than I am at how I love this lipstick. It is one of the strangest colors I've ever seen, yet I put it on and it just knocked me out. I am LLL with a lot of pink in my skin, blue-green eyes, honey blond hair and very pigmented lips. I have had very little success with brown lipsticks, and this is not only brown, but has very prominent green irridescence as well. I can't explain it... you just have to try it before you write it off.

I love this color because it's so, so weird. It's greenish-greyish-corpseish, and I'm sure it'd be lovely on someone, but on me... NO! NO! I tried it on today and wished it had looked better on me, because I'd love to have a lipstick with a greenish tinge. Alas, it was just a little too ghastly.

This is the only dark lipstick I've kept since dumping the rest of my scary-dark-matte-vampy looking lippies. It's not any of the aforementioned. Yes it looks a bit green in the tube, but with some clearish gloss on top it's a nice nighttime shade. When I get sick of J.Lo nude or ultrashimmers, this is a good alternative brownish red.

Love! Love this color. I think it works well with Olive/Brown skin tones.. It's a very pretty silvery/pink color. I don't see the green on me that everyone has mentioned. IT actually looks like a silvery pink/brown frost on me. Beautiful!

This is the first MAC lipstick I tried. I love it!! I admit, I looked at it a little strangely before applying, but it works well with my brown skin. I will admit, I like it better with clear lipglass than alone.

Hmm, guess this is a love-or-hate shade. If you love it you're normal, and if you hate it, you suck... kidding, kidding! Yes, it has green shimmer. Now, you have to treat the green shimmer with caution. If it gets angry it will make your lips look like a lizard, and no one wants that (except maybe lizards). I've found that the way to make the green shimmer happy is to give it some clear gloss to play with. With this combo, you get this juicy cherry lip look, with the green adding dimension but muted by the clear gloss enough so that it doesn't actually look green. Then again, maybe I just have a soft spot for green on lips, since I'm a Squirt lipglass advocate as well. Or maybe I'm just a lizard.

I actually really like this lipstick. Its such a unique shade...a brownish red with a green tinge. Okay it doesn't sound too appealling and it should be noted that this color won't work for everyone. However, on my very pigmented lips, this shade is definitely wearable. The green cast does not show up a garish green, but rather a cool coppery color with a slight green undertone. Its hard to describe, but it creates a really neat ethereal effect. I would definitely recommend trying before buying because, as I said, this won't work for everyone.

This is a reddish brown color with the oddest green shimmer. This is a Halloween type color for sure, I couldn't imagine walking down the street wearing this shade. Yuck!!!

This looks like a rust brown with greeneish shimmer on me. I don't think it works with the slight olive undertones in my skin, though it's a really pretty and unique duo-chrome color that may work with darker skin tones. (I am a PPP).

Okay, for the question who would Spanish Fly suit? DDDs and GGGs I suspect! :) Spanish Fly is indeed Club reincarnated as lipstick - a lovely deep reddish-brown shot through with an iridescent green cast. Unusual, definitely. Beautiful, too.
