I purchased this from Sephora in a value kit. I was hoping this would control the oil in my t zone that develops throughout the day. I saw no difference in oil control (in fact I may have looked a bit worse at the end of the day), however it did make my pores on my nose and cheeks look smaller. I don't really have an issue with large pores and can usually disguise them with primer. I have no use for this product.

I've used Dr. B's regular Pores No More in the past, and was pleased with the product. I've recently developed an oiliness problem on my nose, and so I've been looking for an effective mattifier. I decided to give this a try. First, it totally "fixed" (albeit temporarily) the large pores on and around my nose. Yay! Second, it seemed to mattify my skin under both powder foundation (Serge Lutens) and liquid (Koh Gen Do Aqua foundation). HOWEVER. Within a couple hours my nose was an oily mess again. So I'll be returning it to Sephora. I feel like if the product isn't really offering oil control, I may as well just use the less expensive regular Pores No More.

NC25 Chinese, oily skin.

With the 1/2 face on and the 1/2 face off test under my makeup, no perceptible difference in oil control.

No company should claim mattifying w/out first doing its trials on me. Har.

I received a sample size of this from Sephora and have used it for the past 2 days, and I must say I am sold! I have been using this instead of my normal face primers (I have them all: Laura Mercier, Bare Escentuals, Smashbox, even Monistat ;)) and this stuff rocks! I put this on under my makeup this morning at 7am and it is now 7:20pm and I have not needed to touch up or blot the oil off my face one time.

I have been a member here for a long time and this is the first product I have felt compelled to review.

I am heading over the ebay now in search of some affordable options

I purchased this lotion because I was looking for something that's anti-aging but also suitable for oily skin. ( bought mine from ebeauty.ca for $50.) I have combination skin and this lotions leaves my skin feeling great all day. It feels very smooth and hardly oily at all compared to my other moisturizer. I don't have many wrinkles yet (I'm more in a preventing wrinkles phase right now) so I can't really comment on the anti-aging benefits just yet, but I love the texture of this lotion and my skin has never looked better.

This is the first Dr. Brandt product I've tried and I must say I really like the feel of it on my skin! I have acne-prone skin and I do get a lot of breakouts from time to time with normal-semi combination skin. I find that most anti-shine mattifying lotions make my face really tight and dry but this one does the job without that stuff which is great!

Smell: Good! It doesn't smell like fragrance nor does it have a medicinal smell.

Feel: semi-creamy but not too rich. I'd say this would be good for normal-oily skin types and not just for combination/oily.

I haven't really noticed any anti-aging or any pore refining effect (I've been using it for over a month) but I do like the way my skin feels after! Great under a primer or can act as a primer in itself!

Overall I would repurchase the product seeing as it contains a lot of great ingredients that will help my acneic skin in the long run since it contains Retinol and Apple Stem Cell (for cell repair and anti-aging)

I recommend this moisturizer for people in the same boat as me :)

I received a sample of this from Sephora. I just used it two days in a row - applying it to one side of my face. After a few hours both times I tried it - you could not tell which side of my face I had applied this to because both were oily.

I have oily skin. This product, if it worked at all, did not work enough for me to bother continuing its use. Also, I found that the product dried in the nozle even though the cap was on it. To me this is most annoying because a lot of product is being wasted and you have to clear out the hard part before applying what you dispensed to your face.

I am really liking this treatment/moisturizer. I'm not actually sure if it's a skincare treatment or not. The SA at Sephora told me it's a moisturizer but I thought it was a mattifying treatment. Either way, who cares if the product is awesome! Does indeed help my pores to disappear, skin is soft/smooth, and helps my makeup look flawless when first applied in the morning.

I definitely feel like my skin stays matter for longer than if I didn't use it. It gets 4 lippies because to be HG would require me to be poreless and shine free the entire day but I still require a tissue blot by midday.

As far as the anti-aging properties and increased cell turnover, I can't really make comments as to that claim since I'm 27 and luckily still lineless. As far as price, it's definitely pricey compared to drugstore brand but overall (compared to other high end lines) it is well priced. You have to think in terms of volume. Most other lines give you only 1 oz of a treatment or moisturizer and this is 1.7 so it's $35/oz. And if you buy it on ebay it's WAY less.

I got a sample of this from Sephora and didn't expect much but it turns out I *love* it. My skin has gone through what my dermatologist says is a 'hormonal nightmare,' with my chin constantly breaking out no matter what I do to try and keep it clear. I know this is for mattefying the skin but it has made my skin clearer and yes, my pores smaller. I have combination skin so I'm not sure how this works for those with very oily skin but I would highly recommend trying it for 2 weeks.

I wash my face, use a gentle toner and the mattefying lotion. During the day I put on moisturizer & sunscreen but for the most part I try and only use this so it sinks into the skin. If you already have small pores you might not notice much of a difference but I'm so happy it's cleared my chin up I'm going to continue using it.

$60 at Sephora is overpriced (for 1.7oz pump).

I like that this contains apple stem cell culture extract - that's the anti-aging part of it.

It doesn't smooth out my big pores completely (*sad face*), but it does smooth them out appreciably. I'm still looking at my pores in the mirror.

My face is less oily than it used to be but I still have unwanted shine, & this lotion mattifies the shine nicely without a pasty or cakey look. It leaves my skin looking natural (I go without makeup nowadays) & velvety.

I may buy this again. The pump bottle is large enough to last a long time. I use 2-3 pumps on my face. The scent is mild but icky, & it dissipates after a few minutes, thankfully.

This is my HG mattifier and I've tried them all. It feels great going on and doesn't make my skin feel tight like a lot of mattifiers. And the best part: It truely controls oil ALL DAY! I use Retin A so even though my skin is oily, I get flakey dry patches. This is the only thing I have used that doesn't make dry patches worse. Don't know how it does it but I'm sooooo glad it does!!

This is a great moisturizer for middle-aged combination/oily skin. It controls oil without making my face feel tight and dry. It's also a great base for makeup. Yes, it's expensive but I will definitely repurchase, especially during the hot and humid summer months in the DC area.

I have been using a sample of this lotion for the past week and I really like it! I've liked other products from the Dr. Brandt pores no more line (the cleanser, for example) and found the "pores no more" claim to be pretty accurate. I use this primarily at night because skincare is supposed to be more effective at night due to increased blood circulation in the skin. In the morning, my skin feels soft and even. The directions say to use it both in the AM/PM, but I think my combo skin would feel too dry if I used this twice a day, so I stick to once a day at most. The consistency is light and it absorbs quickly, so it's ideal for using under makeup if you decide to use it during the day.

I've tried this out for a few months prior to reviewing, and think i am able to give a pretty good opinion on it now, so here goes.

I bought this because the pores on my nose/cheeks were large/visible which really irked me, so i went to sephora and found this and thought, hell, why not? and anti-aging, that can't hurt. it was fairly expensive, but man, totally worth it!

i've used it every day under my makeup and within a WEEK i noticed that my pores were much less visible. i've never had a product work like that and SO quickly, i was in shock! my skin looked soo much smoother and i got a ton of comments on it.

After a few months of use, the results are only better and my skin looks more amazing than i can ever remember it. I can't comment much on the mattifying aspects as i haven't really cared/paid any attention to that, but if you are looking for an amazing pore refining lotion, look no further.
