I accidentally bought the Kurobara brand that seriously looks exactly the same as this in terms of packaging. But it is also 100% tsubaki oil so I can't imagine the effects to be any different. I just finished the bottle and I really love it for its smoothing and softening effects. The oil is light and golden. I find it leaves my hair feeling smoother than when I apply coconut oil as a leave-in conditioner. It doesn't smell nice like coconut oil but that is a small drawback.

It is quite inexpensive (around $10 a bottle) and is worth it because I use 4 drops on my long hair and the bottle lasted me 7 months. I would repurchase, but this time I will make sure I get the Oshima brand to see if there is a difference.

This is a quintessential Japanese hair product that has been around for a really long time. I like to apply it on my damp hair and the next day my hair is smoother and shinier. Lots of shampoos/conditioners use this as an ingredient (like the Shiseido ones), but I think the real deal is better. I have shoulder long hair and 3-4 drops is good enough for me (sometimes it can get too greasy). A bottle lasts a long time and only costs something like $15 in Japan! There are also other brands of tsubaki oil but I've never tried them.

I was wondering where I could buy this product in Canada. I read alot of good reviews about it and it seems like a great treatment for dry and puffy hair, I also love the looks of this little bottle. My hair is curly and gets dry especially the ends. Thanks for the help :)

Amazing product. Better than argan oil.

I have to use about 5 drops for my hair because there is so much of it.

My hair looks better. I've used Fekkai, Phyto, Kevin Murphy products and my hair doesn't feel any better, but this makes a huge difference.

I put about 4 drops on my hand and rub them together and then I apply this to my hair and my hands don't feel greasy afterwards and it probably doubles as a hand cream for winter.

This oil makes my hair super soft and shiny. I have thick, long, frizzy, wavy hair and I use the tsubaki oil once or twice a month as a treatment before shampooing. I completely soak my hair in the oil (about 3-4 tablespoons), comb through, and tie up for an hour or so. After a regular washing my hair feels super moisturized and looks shiny and thick. I also use a few drops on my ends after blow drying. I love that this oil is rich but has no smell. Great value as well.

I used to have dry, wavy hair.
But after switching up my hairnets regime where I use about 6 drops for my hips length hair. I get smooth as silk hair that's easy to comb through, shiny, strong ends, and overall healthier looking hair.
This oil is very light, it's viscosity is that of a very light olive oil. The container is super easy to use, and the bottle will last you for ages. It is also supposed to be good for you face but I haven't been brave enough yet.

I finally got a bottle of this new treasure of mine. I wanted to get camelia oil for so long but only the pure one, and as most of them are mixed with silicones I left it aside until someone on this board (alia135) recommended thisone. This is a 100% pure camelia oil and was rated as a top hair care item a several times in a row in Japan so I decided to give ths a try. As far as I know Oshima is a peninsula on Hokkaido which is in the north of Japan so the name may also mean that the oil is pressed there, but as I donīt speak or read japanese I canīt tell, as their homepage doesnīt have an english version.

You get a nice simple glas bottle which comes in a yellow sealed package with a huge camelia japonica flower on it. Man I just hate the yellow colour in genereal, but I like the glas bottle =D The oil itself is non-scented, which Iīm really fond of but be carefull with it, itīs suuuuuper concentrated and whey it says 4 drops for styling, they mean 4 drops or youīll end up with greasy looking hair. It depends on your hair length how much you need. I put 4 drops on my (long) washed and towel-try hair length and ends and then blowdry my hair. Voila, shiny, lightweight and less frizzy hair ist the result I get. I also use this as an overnight treatment. I take a bigger amount then and massage this on my scalp, comb my hair with a wooden comb, so the oil dispenses evenly and my ends get a nice treatment too (yes, it will look totally greasy and nasty, but youīre going to sleep anyway, so who cares =D) put a towel around my hair so I donīt have to change my pillowslip the next day and go to bed then. I also noticed that my hair is not just more shiny after I started using Oshima Tsubaki, but my scalp also doesnīt get greasy that fast anymore (I donīt need to wash my hair every 2nd or 3rd day anymore, I often can wash it on the 4th day, which is a huge plus.) I think thats because I do the scalp massage night treatment. My hair is also less frizzy in general now and much easier to comb. I highly reccomend this if you are looking for a qualitative tsubaki oil without any additives. Itīs said you can also use this oil for your face as its pure Camelia oil but I didnīt try that out yet.
