Wow...what can i say? i've used a lot of curling irons in my life - ranging from good ol' Conair to CHIs but this is the first time i am so impressed with a curling iron. this is a clampless ceramic-coated iron which heats up to 360* Celsius (this is the only heat setting it has). a large pink glove is also provided.
i had to spend a few minutes learning how to tilt the rod the right way. i like my curls to be loose/tousled/natural so i tilt the rod downwards and curl out/away from my face. there a bunch of youtube tutorials available for anyone who needs help!
the great thing about the iron is how long the curl lasts WITHOUT hairspray. i curl my hair before i go to bed and i wake up with loose curls which only needs a minor touch up with some sort of texturizing cream like Garnier Fructis Style Surf Hair cream (my fave). unlike the other irons i have (Conair, Babyliss) the resulting hairstyle lasts ALL DAY and i just saved myself 15 minutes in the morning.

I love this clipless curling iron. I have the 1 inch black that I recieved for my birthday last year. It creates smooth curls or waves depending on how you hold it [horizontally or vertically]. You're able to create those loose beachy waves also by combing through your hair after you curl. Heats up very quick and hasn't caused a lot of damage to my hair. But let's be real..We all know any kind of heat to hair is going to damage it. But I love that this is clipless because I don't do well with clip curling irons..My hair always gets tangled or caught in the clip. The only dislikes I have about this is that it's expensive [bought mine from Sephora] & that there is no heat settings. There is only an on/off button. So i'm not sure how others would feel about this not having settings. However, I have fine medium length hair that is colored with highlights and my hair doesn't feel fried after using it. This also came with a pink fabric glove to use so you don't burn yourself but I don't always use it if I'm in a hurry. It also comes with a little fabric so you're able to put your iron down on that so you don't burn the table you're putting it on. I also wrap my curling iron in it when I'm not using it. Also comes with a warranty so make sure once you get it to sign up online. Hasn't caused me any problems since I had it. They also have a pink one around breast cancer awareness month that I wish I had got instead but I love mine regardless. If you're looking for a good quality clipless curling iron and you're willing to drop down some $$ then give this a try.

I bought this in Sephora after the sales girl did a demo on me, and it looked great. The problem with this iron is that I've zero experience with any kind of clampless wand and I have no patience to play around with it, switch the glove from one hand to the other every time I switch sides to curl my hair. I ended up burning 3 fingers and that one experience turned me off from this curler.
While the waves/curls are great, you can get the same result from a $30 drug store curling iron.
Maybe some people had the experience where their curls stayed put for the next couple of days - I had the same thing, only after I put hair spray all over my hair - but without product, the my waves fell apart (the sales girl told me you don't need to put any product in your hair, the curls should still stay). So again, this brings me back to my point of a $30 curling iron.
Honestly, based on the hype surrounding this product, I bought it, but I guess my expectations were too high because it just didn't do it for me.

This iron curls super fast and lasts a whole night. Even though it doesn't have a clip, it is easy to use. I was intimidated at first, but the glove makes it manageable to use without any burns! I want to make the dive and get the straightener/ curler combo, but I need to save up for that!

This product is AMAZING. I am not a patient person but I can curl my long length, medium in thickness hair in 10 minutes! Not only is this curling iron time efficient, but the results are salon quality (or better). I curl my friends' hair all the time and they loveee it!.
time efficient + easy + salon results = amazing :)
The only thing I have to say, is the pricing is expensive. However, I think it's well worth it for all the use I've gotten out of it, all the time I've saved, and all the compliments I've received. Not to mention, the money I have saved from not having to go to the salon alone.

Best $130 I have ever spent. This curling iron has given me the hair I previously looked at in magazines and wished I could have. The best part? No "burned hair" stench! I almost returned it at first because I wanted a bigger barrel, but I've since figured out how to achieve big, awesome waves. My hair is thick and bra strap length, with long layers. I blow dry with a round brush, then quickly run a flat iron over it. Then I part my hair as I normally do and make a ponytail just behind my ear on each side (like low pigtails). Then I just take big pieces and curl away from my face. After this I pull out the ponytails, flip my head over, lightly spray my hair with hairspray, and bam....BOMBSHELL hair. The whole curling portion of the process, which used to take like 45 minutes, takes about 10 if that. The curls last (before they would fall in about an hour) and they're just as bouncy two days later. This iron is no joke.

This curling iron has totally changed the way I feel about my hair. I have fine, colored-treated, mid-length hair that I've never really liked. My hair naturally dries pretty straight, but it always just looks so blah to me. I've tried everything under the sun, but my hair never holds a style. I'm also kind of lazy and I don't want to spend an hour on my hair every morning. For some reason last time I was in Sephora this curling iron caught my eye. I looked it up here on MUA and decided to take the plunge. OH MY GOD. First of all, no matter what I do my hair usually doesn't hold a curl for more than a few hours MAX and living in windy/foggy San Francisco just makes matters worse. I honestly have no clue why this tool is different, but I don't care. I can curl my hair in 10 minutes and it lasts for 3 days. That's right, 3 days = 2 nights tossing around in bed, one night of dancing, an hour at the gym, outside in the wind etc.etc. For the first time in my life I really love my hair. After playing around with products I think this works best for me with Kerastase Chroma Thermique to protect my hair from the heat, and hair Bumble and Bumble a la mode hairspray (which I looove and highly recommend on its own). Also, I'm not exactly a pro when it comes to hair tools, but I got the hang of this within just a few uses. This is definitely pricey at $130, but I've spent way more than that looking for some product that will magically transform my hair. I love being able to just spend 10 minutes every 3 days after I wash my hair to have beautiful wavey curls. Honestly if you want great looking waves/curls and you can afford then definitely try this out.

Ok so after months of wanting this, I finally caved. I secretly hoped I wouldn't like it so I could return it knowing I gave it the ol college try. Unfortunately I love this darned thing!
I do not know what the magic is, but the curls stay. I mean stay. With no hairspray, 50% humidity and a 90 min workout, I still had curls at the end of the day. Unbelievable. It's also super quick to heat up and easy to use once you get in the swing of the wrapping thing. Oh and the curls/waves are super shiny and healthy looking too.
Love love love! Definitely recommend. It's pricey, but worth it!
For ref: I have long, processed hair. Normal to fine but a ton of it. It's naturally curly but oddly won't normally hold a curl from a "normal" iron or rollers for more than like 20 minutes.

WOW this is the best curling iron/ wand I ever have had. I have thick hair that will not hold a curl longer then 30 minutes with a regular curling iron. But with the bombshell I have full gorgeous curls all day. I can go to sleep and wake up with my hair still full of body. If you are looking for that gorgeous celeb wavy hair this is the answer. The price is so reasonable if your hair will not hold a curl I will never purchase another clamp curling iron again. This is the HG of all wands.

So this curling is really great and I understand and can relate to all of the 5 star reviews. I myself purchased this curling iron and absolutely loved the results. I've been using a 1.5 inch curling iron for the past 2 years and despite of the half inch difference, this 1 inch clampless version can yield the same results.
BUT, I cannot justify the price for this. I am a junkie who probably owns about 9-10 curling irons and obviously care about getting gorgeous waves. Though I'm not an engineer but I've learned to think like one! With that being said.....
HERE'S what to do to acquire a cheaper alternative (sans glove, which you can just purchase off ebay):
1. Acquire a newer generation, Hot Tools Nanoceramic curling iron 1 inch. You can get this at Ulta, eBay, or any Hot Tools retailer. The model is HTBW44 and the link is here: http://www.hottools.com/product_detail.cfm?product=HTBW44
*Normally I used to think Hot Tools were too heavy and damaging, but the new nanoceramic is SUPER smooth. It has the most super smooth barrel, better than their older ceramics and tourmalines, and your hair will slip right off if you don't hold it in place. They also now weigh only a fraction of what they used to!*
2. Using the approrpriate screwdriver, unscrew the clamp. Using a smaller screwdriver, unscrew the spring.
3. Basically, you should have in your hands a version of the Sultra Bombshell iron for less than $50! Mine cost 37.99 via eBay, to be exact. I ended up returning the bombshell back to Sephora.
I uploaded a photo of my version under my pictures so visually I can convince you not to pay more money than necessary to get a bomshell iron, but pay less to get its cheaper equivalent. The only con you might experience, though it doesn't affect performance (so don't be paranoid), is that since the clamp is unscrewed and you see 2 small holes in the barrel, you see the heat/smoke escape, but that doesn't make the iron cooler (besides the iron goes up to 430 degrees as I believe the bombshell went up to around 360-365).

WOW! The Bombshell is an amazing tool, it yeilds the MOST beautiful curls / waves in the world!! My hair is Long and thick and have a lot of it and I was able to do my whole head in less than 20 min. The curls will last a very long time, until I wash it again ( not exactly the same but still nice and defined )
You will get shinny curls, sexy and natural looking. Please get it and try it,this is a product you cannot miss out, prive was worth it for me. Just be careful and wear the glove always and keep the iron away from your skin ( face). I truly recommend it if you like gorgeous curls.
Sultra rocks and if u like then in Facebook, they have givaways of their different products very often.
Lastly I want to say that is a MUST HAVE for me. Love it so much!!!

I love this curling iron! Completely different and WAY better results than the traditional clamp ones. Take your time and section your hair off into nice sections depending on the thickness. Start from the bottom working up. This iron will give you glamourous hair, fit for your wedding!
I hope I don't break mine and can keep it around forever, I won't be able to afford $130 on a curling iron too many times again in my life.

This truly is HG product among any hair curling tools! I just wished we had more cosmetics/cosmetic tools that were this effective. I have fine hair but lots of it with a bit of a wave. I usually straighten it with my GHD flat iron as nothing I used before would curl my hair for more than two hours at a time. Well this product is everything it says and more. Sure the pink glove should be more heat resistant and there should be two instead of one so you don't waste your time switching it from hand to hand. It's also pretty expensive - $130 - but worth every penny. The curls are lovely, long lasting and very shiny. My hair because it's so fine doesn't get very shiny but this product takes care of it. My curls last all day till next morning. All I use is a non sticky hair spray afterwards and voila! perfect hair style. Love it!
PS. I wish Sephora sold the Sultra hair products too.

I was always hestitant to use curling irons because of the annoying dent in the curls from the clip. That's not an issue with the Sultra! It heats up so quickly and curls your hair beautifully. My recommendation is to pin the curl afterwards to let it cool. The curl will hold longer and it makes it easier to curl my thick hair. Works great for a sexy, wavy look. It was truly love at first curl!

I never write reviews on here, but I feel like I need to tell everyone I know about this curling iron. For starters, my hair is very fine, and around collar bone length and so soft that is never EVER holds a curl. I have spent hours before curling and spraying etc. and it always falls in a matter of an hour.
I saw this curling on a few blogs, and decided to give it a try. I really wanted to hate it bc of the price tag.
So, I curled my hair on saturday with just some volume mousse, and then curled it. Set it with some hair spray and it looked gorgeous! It stayed all day! In fact it stayed most of the next day too. Even when I brushed it out Sunday night, it still had some wave to it. This is so unlike me and my hair! I am so impressed with this curling iron, my only gripe is that is is so expensive.
But it is totally worth it. Does take some getting used to but it is worth it!

Best curling iron I've ever used! This is clampless, so you just wrap your hair around the 1" barrel and hold there with your hand. Iron heats up in what seems like 5 seconds (there's only an on/off switch, no temp settings) and takes less than 10 seconds to give your hair a great curl (less if you want a looser wave). I curl my hair a few times a week in the morning and this cut my styling time down significantly. Can give me ringlets or loose waves. Tried it on my hair today and didn't use any product whatsoever and it's still intact at the end of the day.
Iron comes with a glove that's supposed to resist heat so you can hold the hair to the barrel, but it's a pretty weak glove. It helps a little, but you can definitely still get burned if your touch lingers.
Price is really high for a curling iron, but the results speak for themselves. Also, there's supposedly some technology that "mends your hair" as you style, but I'm not sure if I believe that. Will update if I notice any improvements as I continue to use.
If you didn't think your hair could hold a curl, try this out!! For sale in Sephora, so if you don't like it, you can return.
