Beautiful warm burgundy. Easy to apply and looks good with my bluish green eyes. Too bad it was LE.

I LOVE this eyeliner! It goes on so smooth, and stays on forever! You just have to smudge it after you apply it so it doesn't go into the crease of your lid. I would DEFIANTLY buy again!

I discovered this gem at the Grocery Outlet and will be going back to grab a couple more at $1.99 a pop before they're gone because I missed them the first time around and apparently they are now discontinued. This is THE shimmery plum shade I've been looking for forever, up to and including UD's 24/7 pencils (which I think are too pricey and tend to smudge on me despite their lofty claims). It's a bit on the red side of purple, like a plum rather than an eggplant blue-purple; doesn't smudge once it sets and is a breeze to apply and smudge out if you want to- but work fast because they dry fast. My 4 rating is because they are so creamy I tend to go thru them quickly by having to sharpen after every use, hence the backups. Pity L'Oreal got rid of a lot of their HiP line and what I thought were some of their best items: these, the creme e/s dupes of MAC Paints, the Shadestick dupes, the powder kohls like Guerlain's, the glosses and a couple other things because they are all really good. This one looks amazing on my brown/hazel eyes and blows all my other plum/purple liners out of the water. Looks great with my plum and berry lipsticks and blushes for a sort of monochromatic Fall look! Grab one while you can if you see it, because I fear they are now gone forever except for dollar stores and Grocery Outlets like where I found mine.

I got this on sale for $3.50 and what drew me to it was the color. SO PRETTY! I'm so glad I picked this up...it glides on so creamy and smooth and lasts all day (especially if you apply an eyeshadow on top). Definitely my favorite eyeliner in my small make-up collection...I hope to pick up a black version of this if it's on sale next time.

First, the stuff that matters: this eyeliner goes on like a DREAM. It's extremely soft (which is also a bad thing, since you go through it pretty quickly) and doesn't tug at your skin at all when you apply it. Also, once set with a little powder over it (always a good idea with any pencil eyeliner), it can last the whole day without fading, smudging or creating raccoon eyes. (I have oily skin, too, so it's hard to find a pencil that can stay this well!)
As for the color... This is the interesting part. Under artificial light, it's a pretty bright violet, almost like an eyeshadow. However, under natural light (like when I'm in my car), it's very dark and surprisingly natural looking, almost like a dark brown. Personally, it looks great in both situations. :D What a fantastic find! I hope L'Oreal keeps expanding on their HiP line, it seems like they're on a roll!

This has to be the prettiest plum eyeliner I've ever seen, gorgeous plum not too dark or light, just right with a pretty soft sheen and lots of pigment.

This is new for Fall 2010 but exactly the same as the HiP Color Chrome Eyeliner. They have the same clear plastic cap and the same length, lettering, and amount - 1.1 g. Dark Romance was one of 3 new colors from a display of new HiP items. The other colors were Dark Sky and Dark Night.
Dark Romance is a plum color with a sheen. I took a picture of a swatch of it on my arm (NC35) with HiP Color Chrome in Violet Volt (a bluish violet) and Prestige Total Intensity in Deep Purple (a blackish purple). It's a liquid pencil and goes on smoothly with lots of pigment. It lasted as long as my other HiP eyeliners, all of which I like. As much as I can like any pencil eyeliners. I have problem hooded monolids so everything transfers on me after a certain amount of time. It's a cross I have to bear.
