I'm tired of these low pigment, thin eyeshadows that last 1 hour before fading. I have to apply so much product just to get a visible result. They are not high pigment nor does the product apply well. Sure, I love the earthy colours, but it shouldn't take me TEN MINUTES just to achieve a visible result. Maybelline are a cheap drugstore brand to me, and their products never amaze me. I'm through with them and their crappy, low qaulity eyeshadows. Better off in the bin.

I love this trio :) It retails for $5.30 at Rite Aid but due to the 40% and a $1 off coupon and the cashier made a mistake, I only got it for $1 and some change. The colors are pigmented and buttery smooth. The highlight shade was what drew me in since it looked like a taupe but it is the most uneven and powdery shade. The lid shade is a gorgeous medium brown with shimmer and the crease is a darker brown.
The swatches I did were on bare skin without a base so imagine them with a primer! :D Great buy and unfortunately it's Limited Edition but it shows how much Maybelline has stepped up their game :)

Best in Brown is a limited edition eyeshadow trio that I just purchased from my neighborhood Walgreens. It looks like it is part of their Fall 2010 release.
This trio has three colors: a pale taupe-silver shimmer, a neutral medium-brown with gold iridescence, and a cool-toned, dark, smoky brown with a hint of plum. The iridescence is not over the top and therefore, you can wear these colors during the daytime.
I love these colors, especially the dark, smoky brown. I have neutral to warm undertones and reddish-based browns look horrible on me. So I was excited to see that this trio had a cool-toned brown.
The pigmentation is great and so is their texture. I have no problems blending the colors.
I also love that Maybelline switched to a black-colored plastic packaging. It looks so much better than their blue plastic packaging.
