I would buy this if it wasnt discontinued. It was great. Length, thickening, just perfect!

Let me start off by saying that, naturally, I'm pretty gifted in the eyelash department. My lashes have decent length and volume with nothing on them. I don't know how this mascara would do on sparse-lashed girls, but on me, it is DIVINE. I like it even better than Covergirl Lash Blast!
XXL Pro Extensions comes with a white primer on one end, which I think gives really good volume. The other end is a regular black mascara, and it gives great length to my lashes! My lashes have never looked better than with this mascara. I'm telling you, they look like falsies!
EDIT: The only teensy complaint I have about this is it smudges when I wear it on my lower lashes. That's no big deal for me, though; I have other mascaras that work in that area that won't smudge. Still love this mascara! :)

This is usually my go-to mascara, but man! Head's up! Do NOT sleep with this on! I got some in my eyes and it was like glue, first it made it so I couldn't open my eye, then once I could it stuck to my eyeball and made long threads of sticky gunk that I needed to touch my eyeball to get off, and dig out of the pink part of my eye for like an hour afterward. That totally freaked me out! Definitely wash this off asap after coming home. Otherwise it is awesome lol.

XXL Pro Extensions has been my HG for almost a year now and still has yet to let me down! The primer is definately what makes this mascara a 5 star, I use it with my other mascaras as well and it always packs a punch. I have naturally long and curly lashes but have problems with other mascaras clumping and weighing them down as well as smudging-not this one! Long, separated and fanned out lashes everytime. Only drawback (as with any primer) is that if you apply the primer too thick then you can see it through the mascara but I think that only starts to happen when the product starts to dried out and by then you should get a new one anyways ;o)

I use the waterproof version. Makes my lashes super long, it's the best primer around. However I follow up with Maybelline's Illegal length fiber extensions waterproof.
To remove the mascara, I use lots of baby oil (only Johnson & Johnson) on a giant cotton ball or pad. A little work and it's gone without losing any lashes.

Some words of warning... Do not apply the primer if you have a waterproof version of this mascara. You will never get it off without sacrificing some lashes.
I was amazed at how difficult this product was to get off my lashes after my day was threw. I took makeup remover of all sorts in hopes to get it off. Advance two days later and guess what.. I still had dark shadows of leftover mascara under my eyes. Three days and i finally got all residue and goop off.
The lengthening ability to the product is decent. Nothing extreme or amazing.
The packaging is a pain.. It "locks" into place with a gentle motion.. which also leads to being opened in a gentle matter. Not convient for travel. Oh yes and let's talk about the brush.. It's actually really the only feature to this mascara I like. It's a classic mascara brush and wand. Not bendable but certainly workable. It does deliver to much product onto the brush, but just blot the wand on a paper towel and it will remover the unwanted goop.
I think there is again way better products out there then to waste my money in re-buying this mascara.

Well, if not for MUA this would not have ever been in my shopping cart, but, based on the reviews I wanted to try it. I cannot believe how well this stuff works. I have NEVER been impressed by a Maybelline mascara EVER but this one is great! I was impressed right off the bat. No clumping, no goop. It went on nice and smooth, seperated my lashes and did extend them. I did not expect much at all. My only complaint are the product chambers are extremely small. It seems you get more of the case and not enough of the product. Perhaps they should sell an extra primer and mascara with it. Other than that WOW is all I can say. Nice one Maybelline!

I have the *waterproof* XXL PRO Extensions mascara and it is really nice. It doesn't flake and it lasts all day. I agree with the other reviewers, you do have to be cautious with how much of the white primer you are putting on your eyelashes because then it will make it difficult to cover it with the black mascara and that will cause you to have to use more than you need and the results will leave your lashes very cakey looking. Other than that it is a good formula. My eyelashes really do look longer and the thin brush surely hits almost every strand of hair making them look full. I just wish the formula made my lashes look really thick AND long, but this is fine for now. Also, the price of the mascara matched it's quality, so I won't complain.

I've gone searching for many different mascaras over the past couple of years. Many don't seem to do much to my eyelashes but this one made them MUCH longer than I expected. When used correctly with the primer, this does give the false lash look. My only problem with it is, just like another reviewer said, sometimes the primer shows through the black mascara. Just don't apply too much of the primer and check to make sure you don't see any on your eyelashes before you leave. But overall, very good product.

This mascara gives me the false lash effect. It is easy to use and provides plenty of drama to the eyes without making your lashes clumpy, flaky and/or any smudging. Only downside and the reason I deducted a lippie was because if your are not careful the white primer can show through the black mascara.

I really liked this. And I'm a mascara junkie. This met my standards and I totally recommend it! First off, the base coat works really good, and the top coat is even better! They're an amazing combo. The only con is that you have to spend some time using it. You have to be very careful using it. It's definetly not one of the mascaras you use when your in a rush. Other than that, it's good :)

I love the primer on here! It keeps my pages curled all day. You don't find drugstore mascara primers so this is a good primer and probably the only reason I would but it again. I don't really like the mascara tho. I use my other mascaras on to of the primer.

So, the primer is the bomb! The mascara is just OK, maybe a 2.8. The combo (I can't tell if it's just the primer or the mascara too) however holds the best curl I have ever seen! My lashes are longer and super curled all day. It's amazing!!!
I now use this combo mascara with Lancome's Hypnose (after applying both ends of Maybelline) and constantly have people asking me if my lashes are fake. AWESOME!
I'll give it a 5 when they improve the mascara so I don't have to turn to Lancome to finish the job.
Another boo hoo is the stuff is SUPER Hard to remove, like eggs on a window. I go through so many cotton balls at night and I still wake up with raccoon eyes.

I saw no discernible difference between this "pro" formula and the non-pro formula. Primer dried out before the mascara on both versions. Would buy again for primer portion, not mascara.

I love the mascara but I don't LOVE it yet.
I always splurge on mascara and I was in the mood to buy a new one. Before this, I never tried 2-step mascara. I bought it in Very Black w/p.
Like the majority of other reviewers I wasn't so sure about the white primer. Sure, it built some volume&lots of length but it's WHITE for crying out loud! I put on 2 coats of the actual mascara&voila! Really long&lush lashes w/ minimal clumping. Altho I could see some white flecks on the lashes on my right eye.
Summary: it's a great lengthening mascara w/ some volume.

For me, this mascara is a mixed review. I absolutely LOVE the primer - very lengthening, and it has the extension fibers in it so they stick to the ends of your lashes, which make your lashes seem longer. Primer is good to go. Now, the mascara on the other hand makes my lashes look like tarantula legs. No joke. It seems like it gets really thick at the base of my lashes, then tapers off, so it looks scary and un-natural. But, I decided to pair the primer with my other favorite lengthening mascara - Covergirl Lashblast Length. It was really awesome. Because it seems like the Lashblast is so "light" and doesn't lay apply very thickly (is that a word?!), it takes a lot to make sure that you don't see the primer in the end product, which by the time you can't see it, for me, the mascara looks a little thicker, which for me makes me kind of wary because mascara is the only makeup I wear. But, overall, the primer is amazing, but the mascara paired with it is not. So, I suggest that you play with it, experiment with different mascaras with the primer, and you may just find a concoction that you can't resist. :)

I love the result of this product. My lashes looked like I WAS wearing false lashes. my lashes were much longer, blacker and nicely separated. But it seems to smudged and I use the waterproof one. so I am very disappointed because the look is fabulous. I will try again tomorrow and see if it smudges again. I did work out with it on, and sweated so perhaps you can't do that with this one.
Have dried definicils that is great for long wear, but gives not drama.
Hypnose was like attaching clumps of black coal to my lashes, they all stuck together n chunks. Horrible!
Any comments?

Ok, So I brought this based on all the hype. Does it lenghten YES it does lengthen quite a bit. I believe it is the primer that makes it happen. However, it is not buildable and it gave me the spider legs lashes, does not separate too well. Also hard to remove, I did get the waterproof version. Sale Price: $5.59. I like the cover girl lash blast , separates and volumizes whereas this only lengthened. Also recommend, Prestige my biggest lashes

I have really long lashes already but had heard that this stuff was pretty extreme so I decided to give it a try for my holiday and special occasion makeup. It definitely extended my lashes, all the way to my eyebrows! In fact, I have to be very careful when I apply it so as not to overdo the look. Definitely not a mascara for my daytime wear.
My only complaint, but not enough to dock the 5 star rating, is that it's nearly impossible for me to remove the product from my lashes. I've actually been able to wash my face and eyes and not have to reapply mascara for 2 days. I've tried all kinds of makeup removers but this stuff is stubborn as heck.
