I do like the sheer pigmentation of these lipsticks and I don't mind the scent either, but don't expect me to purchase another one of these lipsticks. Yeah they're fricken cheap, but I guess I'm paying for what it's really worth. I just got this in the mail TODAY and it BROKE ON THE SAME DAY! I wasn't even using a lot of pressure while applying it on, and then the whole thing snaps. I know how to fix my broken lipsticks, but it's such a hassle and I'm not going to waste even a dollar on something that will break on me on the first time I try the product. I'm so upset this product didnt work for me, because the price is definitely a steal!

I love ELF, and I especially LOVE their lipsticks. I bought ALL their colors that were in stock so I could just try them out (I mean they are only a dollar..) At first I thought, wow what a nice case of lipstick. However, the lipstick sometimes touches the top of the case which causes the lipstick to break (Stupid design I would say.) In any case, the actual quality of the lipstick is great! I love the pigment of the colours, and the smell (It doesn't smell like crayons like most dollar lipstick.) I tried them on and I decided to make a video to show everyone as some people can't understand how a dollar lipstick can be good. The video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj_XMxYPZ38 and is for informational purposes only. I am of dark skin so the lipstick shows up on me differently, so if you are dark skin this might be a great video for you to watch! Thanks for reading and hope I helped <3

I bought the color Flirtacious, as I wanted a bright baby pink. I have done the mistake of not exfoliating my lips before applying this lipstick, so it settled right in all the creases and small lines of my lips before I could do a thing about it. So you really have to exfoliate before using this. The color is as it seems to be on the website, not different as it happens sometimes. As for the lasting power, it is not so impressive, but I really don't mind. The smell is sweet but subtle, which I appreciate. The packaging is quite cheap and prone to break soon, but at 1$ or so, it is nice to try shades you would never buy at full price in a store. I say it is a nice treat!

Creamy, loads of colour and generally feels nice on my lips. Little minus for the scent, which I don't find very appealing, and the fact that it tends to settle.

I have this lipstick in the colors Classy and Gypsy. Both of them have wonderful texture and smooth application of color, they simply glide on and are saturated in one swipe. Classy is a tricky color on me as it is quite cool and blue based, but with the right eye and cheek makeup it works. It's quite a "young" girly colour, very pretty and wearable. Gypsy is my favourite: I tend to orbit towards berry colors, and this is a really nice and muted color which I can still wear during daytime. The finish is smooth and not completely matte but definitely not shiny either. Love love these lipsticks, can't wait to try more!

With e.l.f. I find it's often to get a lot of hits and misses. I have bought every shade of these one time or another and at the moment I only use three of them: sociable, flirtatious, and charming. If you can get a good one, these lipstick are great. Most are very moisturizing and don't feel too terribly heavy. I really like the way they smell, faintly fruity and I find it pleasant. The packaging sucks, so I had to take off a lippy for that. And I took off another due to inconsistency of quality. Some can be compared to Mac, others make wet n wild lipsticks look high end. Here is a quick rundown of each of the colors I have currently:
SOCIABLE: The darkest color I own, it can be a little tough to work with. A dark redish pink it's good for days when I want a darker lip. However, the quantity of glitter is a little sickening. It's CHUNKY and if you don't blend it with another color or add some lip balm it can look crusty, which is totally nasty. But on a positive note, the color is cooler and I find flatters me in a better way than a "true red" could.
CHARMING: This is my favorite of the three. It is a very flattering slightly darker pink that is only about a shade darker than my natural lip color, for a gal who prefers a more natural look I really enjoy it. :)
FLIRTATIOUS: If you want a natural or neutral color, take this out of your shopping cart. This is BARBIE PINK. No joke. This, to many, would be considered TOO MUCH for everyday use. But I have found that if I mix it with more natural shades and blend it really well it can create a really interesting color.
These are so damned cheap and easy to find at most Target's and I've seen some at K-Mart too. And even if you get a dud, you lost a buck. Go back, try another shade. I definitely suggest these if you're new to makeup or want to experiment with some stranger colors (they have an orange shade now) or don't want to break the bank with a more expensive brand.

Recently purchased 2 of these in nostalgic and flirtatious. I am so surprised of how lovely these show up on the lips. My lips are naturally quite dark so most nude lipsticks would not show up. Nostalgic did a fantastic job as a nude lipstick for me. As with flirtatious, it is my first pinky red lipstick and I absolutely adore it. It is so beautiful and I love the slightly matt finish. I will definitely repurchase flirtatious.

i have classy colour and i love this colour very much....but the quality on my lips is so bad..it just makes my lips so dry and do not last longer on me. once it dries,it really leaves chunky bits on the lips and looks so gross. I'm still trying to look for the same colour but on the different brand and still no luck to find exactly like "classy" colour. i wouldn't repurchase this one again.=(

Being that I was fairly new to the e.l.f brand, I gave this a try when I found a coupon for free shipping. I mean, hey why not? The products are DIRT cheap and the quality is nothing short of great. Some products. Other products, suck. I figured for 1 dollar each, that's pretty good, price wise and the reviews I saw, matched my expectations, so I placed my order. I picked out flirtatious, classy, and nostalgic.
On first swipe, I fell in love with nostalgic. Let me start off by saying, this nude is not for everyone. I was in the car with 2 girlfriends raving about this, and I let them try. One of them loved it, the other, did not. The colour is a very warm nude. On my lips, it looks like a very very light pink. I have light medium skin (studio fix NC30) so I think this complements my yellow undertones well.
The one I ordered two of because I was afraid I would love it so much that I would need two, was Classy. Let's just say, not so much. It is a pretty color, but not my cup of tea. It is a sheer berry colored lipstick and my first one broke on first swatch.
Word to the wise, be careful with these cheap lipsticks, they are CHEAP and break easily. The packaging sucks. It is a clear plastic when you remove the top and it sometimes sticks when rolling it up. But hey, I didn't buy this lipstick because of the packaging...
Last one I got was flirtatious. This is a deeper coloured barbie pink. Its not a out there pink like the Barbie colour, but has deeper shades of pink and is very creamy and pigmented. I liked it, but I don't wear bold pink lips every day, so I will use this once in a blue moon. Overall, they are pretty pigmented and I will be looking to pick up more at my local Target. These exceeded my expectations and I recommend at least trying one out to see what I'm talking about. For a dollar, its a bargain! I definitely will be looking for more nostalgic's, seeing as I am a nude girl, for life!

I got this lipstick in Sociable, because I wanted to test out a pink color on my lips. Too bad I trusted the colos on the ELF site! This lipstick is not a cool blue-ish pink at all, but a warm orange toned pink-red color. It is a satin-matte finish, with GLITTER chunks in it. Nothing on the ELF page said that this lipstick had glitter in it. The glitter chunks are small-ish, but highly visible on the lips. In my opinion the color would have looked much more sophisticated and less cheap if they just had let out the glitter.
The lipstick is very pigmented, more to the stain-y side than the good side of pigmented. It feels somewhat dry on the lips, and the glitter chunks are a bit irritating. The lipstick smells faintly of sweet berries. The formula feels plastic-y and more like some children's play make up than something designed for actual usage.
The packaging feels cheap, but is sturdy. It is a grey metallic tinted plastic bullet with a clear glass part where you can see the colour of the lipstick. It has the silver ELF-logo on its side, which really easily wears off, and a tiny sticker underneath with the name of the colour.
This is a cheap product, and you get what you pay for. A plastic feeling and -smelling lipstick in a ugly plastic casing. If I ever were to buy ELF lipsticks again, it would be as a gift for small children wanting to have some make up to play with. The glitter chunks in it certainly adds to that image. Even though it is 1/10 of the price of a MAC lipstick around these parts, I would much rather buy one higher quality products than ten of these.

Wow, these lipsticks are actually pretty good.. i am not a lipstick or gloss girl at all, i own some but do not wear it daily, sometimes ill throw on a lipstick but mostly i skip them since i do have extremely dry chapped lips all year round. I dunno if its from allergies or what...
=PRICE/AVAILABILITY=
The Elf Lipsticks are only $1 from the Essential line. These are super cheap and affordable that i had to try them. These are available of course on the Elf website in the Essential line under lips. These are also available at some Targets, Sears Grand stores and i have seen occasional shades in some Dollar Trees. It will of course depend on your area/stores.
=SHADE/FORMULA/PERFORMANCE=
Elf website says: "Indulge your lips with long lasting color and shine. The moisture rich formula hydrates, conditions and softens on contact for silky smooth lips. Instantly beautiful, healthy-looking lips designed, formulated and tested by our professional team of makeup artists." There are 12 available shades which are all so pretty from nudes, pinks, red, peaches, corals..there are 12 shades so Im sure you will find one for you. I own 4 of them so far & plan to get more at some point. The formula is so soft & creamy. Great for lips like mine that normally look hideous w/ any lipstick since they look cracky, cakey & horrible but w/ a good chapstick/balm, then apply these. They glide on w/ easy and are more on the hydrating side than most lipsticks ive tried. Ive tried alot. Im surprised how soft & creamy & nice they feel on my lips for $1. I love how the stay on, not waxy or sticky. They dont have long staying power but no less or more than any other lipstick ive tried. These will stay put for at least 2-3 hours before fading happens. So you may have to Reapply like i always end up doing no matter what lipstick i wear. Also, i suggest, blotting & powdering lips if you really want to layer & make these lipsticks stay for a long while. I just really love how affordable & gorgeous these are. I also want to suggests to try these as Cream blushes. (i did a video on youtube how to depot these & mix up your own cream blushes, the formula is nice on these unlike some more waxy slippy lipsticks.) I love the colors i own so far. I know the Elf site is off on their swatches of their lipsticks/products so id suggests to google search real life swatches so you can see what color you are actually getting.Of the few i own so far, i have to say, i love em all!
Nostalgic- a nice soft pinky nude thats on the cool side. I love this for a smoky eye since it tones down the look. great for daytime or nite time.. a nice soft nude
Charming- this is almost like Nostalgic but a tad more pink & a tad darker but not too much. this is another nude color that i def think everyone would love
Classy- a cool toned soft baby pink.. its a gorgeous color for everyday wear no matter what look this lipstick is so pretty with it. nothing dramatic or intense
Seductive- a true baby pink with cool undertones. darker than classy but not too much. Its nice for everyday as well. its my lips but better lipstick. great for any look
I know im not good at explaining colors so im sorry. its hard for me to tell the differences between lipsticks but i tried. I know there are great swatches out there of these. Ill def post a swatch picture as soon as possible. I have to say i really like the formula on these, the performance is great too, not the best but better than some, the smell is a candy orange scent w/ a hint of vanilla. It smells good to me & almost disappears immediately. They dont taste or smell bad, i like it actually!
=PACKAGING=
The packaging is where this lipsticks goes wrong. Its not so bad but it annoys me sometimes. These come in a silver tube with clear tubing & slide on lid. Its simple & cute but the tube doesnt hold the lipstick securely. Meaning sometimes the stick will crack since the tubing isnt securely around the stick itself. ive had some that were good while others cracked as soon as i twisted them up. These are mechanical twist up lipsticks. You do get a good amount of lipstick- 3.5grams. So other than the not so great packaging, i can deal with it since these are great. The Elf logo is on the silver part of the tube and the shade name is located on the bottom of tube on a sticker.
Overall, These are FANTASTIC lipsticks and even more amazing for $1- the colors they have are awesome and pretty and so wearable. They have any color you want and i hope they continue to put out more. I def think these are worth trying & playing around with. Like i said, the formula is also awesome to try for cream blushes. I really do enjoy these and will continue to repurchase and try the newer shades. I def want to try a more red or berry one next!! I love em and wish they got some more credit since ive tried more expensive ones that dried the heck out of my lips & looked awful- these are great!

Pros: Perfect matte color,easy to apply,very cheap price,quality of a 8$$ lipstick,perfect size.
Cons:
The lipstick doesn't go Down all the way so you could break it when you put the cap on,has a toy putty smell -yuck-,a little drying -just put a little bit of lip balm on before- packaging could be better!
Overall: Great lipstick when considered will defiantly be buying more of these:)

I adore the nude color I have in "Fantasy". It's perfect for when I want to do a dramatic eye and a nude lip. It's a very natural color and nearly the same shade as my lips. Unfortunately I had to take off a lippie because of the super plain and boring packaging. I know it was only a dollar but it would have been nice if they added a little flair to it. Oh, well. Still a lovely color nonetheless.

I'm an asian NC40 and have this in Classy, it's a My lips but better kinda color. I don't have any special relationship with this lipstick. It's a color you can put on without a mirror and won't look overdone. It has a semi-matte finiish.
The biggest issue I have with it is that it doesn't last very long on my lips. I need something like Mac amplified formulas or Covergirls lip perfection to make the lipstick stay on me.
It has a scent of berries and is quite creamy in consistency.
Packaging feels cheap, really plasticy, it like "grinds" when I twist it up and the lipstick broke after a couple of uses. I won't repurchase or buy any other colors, I rather save up and buy a lipstick with the formula that suit my lips!

love these lipsticks! they are only a dollar each and i would really recommend that everyone try them especially for the price. i wasn't expecting anything from these when i first purchased them but i actually find myself reaching for these as much as i do my mac lipsticks! they are very creamy and go on super smooth. i have most of the colors and they are all really pretty! these are a must have!
