I used to be a big fan of all MAC products. I've used so many different brands of gloss - Dior, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, NARS, Lancome, and many more. I really like this gloss. I like it more than my glossimers, but I like those, too. This is very pretty on its own, but also really lovely over other lipsticks. I wore it over Chanel Legende this morning and then over Chanel Extatique in the afternoon. Amazing. It last well and is not sticky/tacky like MAC lipglass (they look nice, but too sticky for me!). It's more sheer than the glossimers. I will definitely repurchase. This color is really fantastic. The packaging is kind of heavy, but to me is luxurious. I love Chanel beauty!

Love this! Recently bought b/c wanted to try something different from glossimers, and bc of all the reviews here. Barbie pink never looks good on me bc of my skin tone/coloring but this one really brightens up my face without looking garish or like I'm trying too hard. Agree with other commenters about the wonderful texture etc.
But here's the main reason I'm writing this -- b/c as I was doing makeup spring cleaning, I found that I have an almost exact drugstore dupe for this that I'd bought a year ago ? and just forgot: Revlon Super Lustrous in Pink Pop. On my hand they look almost identical, with the Revlon being more pink, and less of the slight coral tinge in Insolence. On lips, Revlon's of course doesn't have the same plush feel, but the resemblance is amazing, and also feels good. In short, I love Insolence, but probably would have bought another color had I realized I have something so close to it. If you want to try Insolence but are turned off by the high price, Revlon Pink Pop is sooo close. I'd give it an 8.5 to Chanel's 10.
PS--I marked that I'd buy it again, but that's not entirely honest -- I really wouldn't (b/c it's just a fun color for me, and Revlon is so close); and the other colors in this line aren't something I'd get... but hate to ruin perfect score here, and this is really beautiful.... Think I'll stick w/glossimers, until something really unique comes out in this line.

I am a hugh fan of chanel products and I own alot of glossimers, which I love. I recently tried the Rouge Allure Extraits De Gloss In Insolence at the Chanel counter and fell in love. These are very high shine and glossy without glitter. Very pricey at $32 but they do last about 3 to 4 hours on me and I can't get over the shine.I will purchase more in the future.

After reading these wonderful reviews, I headed to Nordstrom yesterday to purchase Insolence. Just hearing it had the same formula as my beloved Rouge Allure lippies, I knew it would be incredible and I was not disappointed. I love this with the pencil in Natural, gives a defined, but understated lip. My lips are fairly full, so i do not want to have a bright lip, but do not want to look dead either. Kudos to Chanel for another awesome lip product. I wear RA Imagination with Maline gloss and on other days I just pop on the Insolence, both over Natural. Thanks Chanel and MUA.

I love this lipgloss. It is an absolute dream, so luxurious, the colour and texture is 10/10. Looks sophisticated and even lasts through an intense workout ! I have Genie and Emoi, but this is my favourite !

I love this! Has staying power, not sticky. This lipgloss can truly be worn without lipstick. I agree with everyone it's expensive, but sometimes you pay for what get.

This is my favorite lipgloss. Love the pinkish natural shade that it gives my lips, sort of MLBB for me. I usually wear it alone, and it makes my lips look so polished and plump. No glitter, which is something I like as well. The price is horrendously high, but thats Chanel for you.
The only other thing bad I have to say about this gloss is that the case is black, so you can't see how much product you have left. But I guess Chanel was going for the sleek sophisticated look. The applicator works fine for me too though I know some people complain about it.

This is the best lip gloss ever! I'm a very fair Asian and this colour just brightens up my face even when I'm not using blush. It's glossy without any shimmer, plumps ur lips a and the colour is a healthy coral pink, love it!

I bought this from duty free so it is a lot more affordable than at a regular mall. I couldn't decide between Insolence or Imaginaire but decided to take a gamble and for for the pinker of the two. It's turns out super cute on me. Not too sheer, not too opaque. The bubble gum pink didnt look that scary on my lips. As the others before me have described, the quality of this gloss is so good I can't think of anything to complain about at all.
If you're looking for a gloss that has some colour and no glitter particles at all, this is for you.

I did not want to like this lip gloss as much as I did, because $32/tube isn't cheap! I was running low on my staple lip gloss, NARS Chihuahua and Insolence caught my eye at the Chanel counter. It's a medium candy pink, leaning on the bright side but not too Barbie pink, which I knew would perk up my rosy-mauve pigmented lips. It's fairly pigmented but the color shows up better when worn with liner and lipstick underneath. The scent is nice and the packaging feels luxurious and sleek. Unfortunately, this is limited edition (according to the SA) so I'm glad I snatched it up, sad that I probably won't be able to repurchase when i run out!

This lip gloss is a very raspberry soft pink. I picked this over the lipstick because the lipstick seemed too bright. I wear it with the pulsion nail polish from the 2010 holiday collection. Lightly blotting this gloss takes away some of the tackiness, which is a good thing to me. Light enough for day wear and good for evening with the polish. This is very expensive but can be worn year around. I would repurchase.

I'm either a natural lip kind of girl, or, when the mood strikes me, a deep red or raspberry. Hardly ever does the candy pink shade lure me in.
But after seeing online swatches and IRL photos of Insolence, one of Chanel's newest gloss offerings, I knew I had to at least try it. The Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss promised to be a slightly thicker, more opaque and pigmented version of the popular and trusty Glossimers (but not quite as lipstick-like as the Rouge Allure Lacques, which, in my experience, were glosses that morphed into drying lipsticks within a couple of hours. Anyway, I digress.)
When I first saw Insolence, I thought, yikes. It looked way too Barbie-pink and vibrant, and certainly not for my fair-to-medium golden complexion. But I tried it anyway, and was pleasantly surprised that it actually flattered my skintone, and gave my lips a vibrance they were lacking just moments before. I looked healthier, flirtier, and while my lips were definitely pink as pink could be, I still looked office-ready and subtle, albeit fresher and, dare I say it, prettier.
The whole fresh yet polished, flirty yet office-appropriate finish does come with a price, however. At $41 (Canadian, after Ontario taxes), the look doesn't come cheap, although I'm sure it's quite dupeable. What makes this unique is the classic Chanel packaging (which, damn it, makes me feel French like nothing else) and the texture and consistency, which is gel-like and smooth and silky and lasts for hours on end, even after a cup of latte.

This is a new product Extrait Gloss from Chanel. The effect is a full coverage gloss to give you colour intensity with an ease of liquid appliaction. I lurve how the tip is made like, compressed on both sides to give a full control upon application especially tighter corners like the cupid bow and the lip lines. Application is a breeze and the texture is extremely smooth and easy to layer for intensity.
Insolence is a bright cool pink with nary a bit of glitter in it. I got this to pair off with my RA Super although this range has a matching RA 65 Insolence to match, the color feels close to my Super thus did not purchase the new RA. Alone, this pink is rather sheer, like a healthy lip color yet when layer on top of my pink lipstick, it heightens the intensity to a new level. I love that having no shimmers, it has a super high shine that is very 3-D and gives added dimensions to the lips. The texture alone is smooth and very moisturizing, able to last a couple of hours without fading. By the 4th hour later, colour started to fade but is good wear by a gloss's standards. The best part is that the lips never felt heavy or sticky and no whitish gunk after many hours of wear. The feel of the lips upon removal is still very soft and supple. This wins my vote!

The previous reviewer did a fantastic job describing this gloss so I won't go into it. All I have to say is that I 200% agree with her. I LOVE these glosses!! Its my new obsession and not to mention am over-the-top excited and in-love with these glosses because I was looking for a long wearing lip product for the longest time without the drying effect & without the colour being opaque, and this is it!! This is long lasting, extremely comfortable to wear, plus its sheer and if layered it still looks fantastic (i.e. NOT opaque). I have 3 shades - 55 (Confidence - a light pink bordering nude), 57 (this one 'Insolence' - which is candy pink with blue undertones), and 58 (Emoi - raspberry red, which is my 'GO TO' l/g for this fall). LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Chanel, please DON'T ever discontinue these.

I am very excited to do this review since I have been waiting for the release of the Extrait de Gloss since I heard about it. I live in Canada, and although the testers weren't out yet my SA at The Bay let me buy it. The name that is on the box is 'Pure Shine Intense Color Long Wearing Lip Gloss' in the color 'Insolence'. Insolence is a cool toned candy pink that is not obnoxiously bright, it is more muted and very very wearable. It is completely devoid of any shimmer and has just the right amount of opacity, not too much; not too little. I have had glosses before where they were so opaque it was hard to wear, this is not like that. It is shiny but it is not like the Glossimers, it enhances your lips in the most natural way making them look nice and full. I have medium pigmented lips with more yellow in my skin so this pulls less cool and more warm on me. You can also wear it over any lipstick to give it depth and dimension.
Let me just say straight up that this very well may be the best lip gloss I have ever used (taking top spot with Chanel's Glossimers on my list!). The formula is just so luxurious on the lips, it feels 'heavy' in the sense that it is so comfortable and it hugs your lips. It is not sticky but ever so slightly tacky (just slightly), the gloss itself being very gel-like in consistency. When I say it feels really nice on the lips, I mean it! For something that is supposed to be long-wearing, it does not dry my lips out and the color stays true even after a couple hours. I get ~3 hours of wear with this gloss alone (which by my standards a long time!). This does have Chanel's signature scent, which to me smells like roses.
I want to speak about the packaging as well. Right when I took it out of the box, I noticed that this is a very heavy product and feels very luxe in your hand. It has the same solid black packaging as the Rouge Allure Laque, but it is taller. It has the Chanel logo in gold on the cap as well. I don't know if the amount you get has anything to do with the weight but there is 8g (0.28oz)(!) of product. If you do the math, this is actually cheaper per gram than the Glossimer! The applicator itself is also interesting. It is a sponge tip however it is slightly concave on BOTH sides (so you have two flat surfaces). When you lay it flat on your lips I found it really easy to use and was efficient at applying the gloss. Some may find that it may be tricky to work with. One thing also, do not apply too much pressure because the foam applicator is much more delicate than say, the Glossimer.
When I applied with a little force I could feel the tip bending.
My SA told me that all of the colors in this line are going to be permanent EXCEPT this one for some reason. I'm not sure if this is 100% correct. All in all, I had very high expectations for this gloss and it has definitely lived up to them. I was only interested in this color and Fatale (a blue-based red) so I won't be going too crazy since the other colors aren't something I'd wear. Even though there are only 9 shades, I'm sure there is something for everyone. There are nudes, a few pinks, a few reds - all extremely wearable. Go try this one out first at your counter if you feel a little indulgent, trust me it'll be worth it. This retails for $37CAN.
*EDIT* 09/02/10 - I spoke with the owner of my local Chanel counter and she told me that 'Confidence' will be the limited edition item, not Insolence. Confidence is a deeper medium pink, also very beautiful!
