This is such a high quality eyeshadow. I've had this for about a year and some change but I just started using it this week after I saw someone review it on here. I have loads and loads of browns for my crease, let me tell you but this is the darkest brown you can get! It is so beautiful! And finely milled! And pigmented! I just tap my brush and it goes on so silky-smooth! I love it! NARS, a job very well done. I would definitely repurchase.

The perfect matte dark brown eyeshadow.
Very pigmented and a little goes a long way - great for filling in brows and as a crease shade. It isn't chalky or too creamy, it's just the perfect consistency. Cute packaging; expensive ($24) but it is so pigmented that it will last a long time. If I ever needed to repurchase, I would.

Rather overpriced but I dont regret spending the money...Its a very deep matte brown, very close to black. It applies dark than it looks in the pan. It has so many uses that it worth the money. Works as a contour for the face, eyeliner, to fill in eyebrows and ofcourse as an eyeshadow. It blends really really nicely and its typical NARS quality..

I was super lucky to get this in one of the NARS 6 e/s palettes.
I posted asking for a rec for this look:

And someone suggested this color. It is really perfect for this look!
Then, reading the reviews here, others suggested using as brow and liner too. This makes this color even more awesome. So versatile and what a good value for what you are getting.

LOVE this. If you ever need just one eye beauty product, this would be a good investment. It's really hard to find the right matte dark brown eyeshadow and this is holy grail for me. Great for lining eyes and brows as there's no fall out, it's creamy and easy to apply but not oily or greasy. Perfect! And I suspect, with a light hand, for eyeshadow, too. I don't think I will ever buy another eyeliner for a while. Highly recommend investing in this.

This is an amazing color. It is a great eyeliner brown, and it is very dark. I highly recommend. Black eyeliner is just too much for me and it looks bad, but this color does everything. It is also a wonderful eyeshadow. Extremely pigmented.

I love this brown! I use it as a brow powder, eye liner, and as a shadow when I want to create a smoky eye in a shade other than dark purple or black.
It is heavily pigmented and a little goes a long way.

This was my first Nars eyeshadow and the MUA knew what she was talking about when she recommended it to me! This is fantastic - wet or dry - as an eyeliner. I think for that purpose alone, it would be worth a purchase. The color is very intense and highly pigmented. As a shadow, it doesn't sway cool or warm but sits prominently in the middle - a platonic ideal of dark brown. I use rather sparingly in my crease and a very light 'dab'll do ya.' Although I would buy again, I find it hard to fathom the day I will need to since I use this so sparingly! I haven't experienced any fallout with this at all, though I do use with an eyeshadow primer. I would categorize this shadow as a great basic to have in your collection.

I debated for the longest time to get this shadow, for about 1 year after it came out. It the darkest brown I've ever come across, matte, and blends like a dream. I use this in the outer v with my MAC 217 for an everyday look. Also at night I used this all over the lid as a brown smoky eye and it looked amazing :). I am a NW50 and its hard to find a contour powder for me because I am dark, but this e/s is great for that also. I dab my contour brush in the pan once and contour my cheekbones, along my hairline, and my nose. It looks amazing. This is my favorite e/s out of all the ones that I own just because I can use this color for so many things <3

At first when I saw this I was like :O so small? This is my first NARS eye shadow but I have a few other nars products-blushes and brushes. The packaging is typical NARS packaging with a little mirror. For 23US you get 0.07oz of product vs 15 US for a 0.05oz single MAC eye shadow. It is pricey but def worth it. Coconut grove is a matte brown. It can be used on brows. I use it to line my eyes. Makes my brown eyes pop. This also pairs well with mac vex. I usually put vex on my lid, coconut grove in on my outer V and crease (blend), albatross as highlight for a quick and stunning look

This has become one of my favourite eyeshadows of all time- and I haven't had it for longer then 2 weeks. The pigmentation is unreal, it blends so perfectly, the consistency is incredibly creamy. You wouldn't think that finding a deep matte brown colour would be so hard but it took a lot of searching and testing to find coconut grove. I love using in my outer-v, smoking out any neutral eye, and using it as eyeliner both top and bottom. I even used it to help my brother fill in a little gap in his black eyebrows one day. the only downside is the price-but well worth it in my opinion given the amount i use it and how happy it makes me.

When I think of the money I have wasted buying eye pencils I want to cringe. Applied with an angled liner brush, (I use ecotools) this makes the sexiest eyeliner in the world. It is the most perfect shade of brown ever made. It is matte and dark with absolutely no red undertones. It sets off my fair, cool skin, blond hair and dark brown eyes beautifully. Applied dry it is soft and alluring. Applied wet it is stunning and dramatic. Is it pricey? Yes. But it is worth every damn penny. The color, the texture, the ease of application and the durability of wear are what makeup dreams are made of.

I effen love this shadow! I'm a NARS fan to begin with, as far as quality goes, but practicality doesn't usually come to mind when I think of the line. I'm one to wear makeup to enhance, not mask, so I don't usually go for the uber daring colors or copious amounts of glitter. This shadow is so practical and so damn SEXY! I mainly use it to line. It can be used wet or dry. Smudged or streamlined. No matter how it's used, you'll fall in love. It does the work for you. Dry & smudged looks gorgeous and somehow looks "naturally dramatic". Wet and winged out looks more intense and like a blackened brown. It's super pigmented and rich, but also DEEPER and MORE COMPLEX than most matte black shadows used as liners. They have a tendency to 'gray out'. This looks like the darkest coffee bean you've ever seen. Smooth in its formulation, sultry in its color pay-off, and subtle in it's color hue, Coconut Grove is heaven-sent! It's almost perfectly neutral (not a red brown or a golden brown, a true balanced brown), but ever-so-slightly on the cool side. It also makes a great shadow for a brown smokey look, or to add depth to outer corners and creases. Regardless, anyone can find a million and one ways to wear this shadow. Worth every penny. Will replace over and over again.

A really nice dark matte brown. I use this wet as an eyeliner (even if I smudge it out across the lashline, I still wet my brush lightly to apply), and what I love most about this product is that is doesn't fade to an unnatural grey-ish color like a lot of black shadows do. Instead you get a nice black-looking brown throughout the day.

I think this is a definite "must have" in everyones makeup stash. Like mentioned, it is a very deep blackened brown. The pigmenation is insane. Its probably my darkest, matte shadow. The consistency is perfect - it's super blendable on the lids. This is an awesome shadow to smudge on your upper and lower lashline for a natural, smoked out look. I wear this very often smudged on my upper lashline.. I practically dont have to do any work to make this look awesome. Just take a small brush and run it across your lashline and take a smudge brush and blend it. Its also perfect for a brown smokey eye or for deepening the crease/lighter browns. Someone asked me if they can use this for a brow filler.. And the answer is, yes you absolutely can if you have very dark brown..almost black hair/brows.. But with the lightest touch. You barely need to tap the shadow once with a brush and it should be enough for your one brow. Cant say enough good things about this shadow... Check it out for yourself!

This is a beautiful blacky brown shadow! I like to use it to smudge out my liner almost daily. I am NC15-20 or Deauville in NARS Sheer Glow & this color is not too dark for me. NARS shadows & blushes are the best!

I don't think I will haev to repurchase this for a while, since the color is so pigmented. I honestly just tap my brush and I have enough on my brush. I personally think it fades a little, but maybe I need to experiment a little more. Overall it a great color, I love the fact that it is a dark matte brown with no red in it.

This is a wonderful LE shade from NARS. It looks boring, like it is nothing special but it is a gem! It is matte in texture and highly pigmented. Very dark brown, almost black in color! I use this to either line my lashes or darken my outter v! This is one of the nicest shadows I have ever used to define my eyes! It doesnt fade away (which tends to be my problem when I use other name brands darker shades to deepen a look)! If you haven't gotten yours do it before they are gone! Totally worth every penny!

Like George Lopez says, OMG! I have been looking for a dark chocolate shade like this! This shade is the darkest brown you can get without being black. There is no purple or red in this shade. It applies darker than it looks in the pan. In the pan it looks chocolate, but on the eye/skin, it's dark chocolate. The very smooth matte texture makes this especially wonderful. It's limited edition and I had to stop myself from picking up a backup. (NARS eyeshadows are expensive as it is. Besides, my boyfriend just dumped me and I was doing retail therapy as it was). Gorgeous!
