Not a fan. I personally love Neosporin Lip Health. Took a few days to love that one as it's thin and doesn't feel as though it will wear for any period of time but it lasts all night and it's fantastic! My HG! Well, they were sold out so I was perusing the counters at the mall, ran across the Kiehl's and grabbed the Vanilla.
It does feel nice going on however, I find that I have to apply every 10-15 minutes. It is a petroleum based balm but it is more than just vaseline. On me, it doesn't work any better than just vaseline. It does look nice over lipstick. I have been using it all day, every day and giving it a chance but I'm not impressed. I'll just chuck it my purse and use it on my cuticles. Not a total waste.

I always loved the Kiehls #1 lip balm but hated the smell. I picked the Vanilla one up at Nordstrom the other day and am completely in love. Its smooth texture really feels great on your lips. It is petroleum based, so it helps keep lips moisturized, but I do agree that this probably works best on lips that are already in good shape. The one downside is the applicator, i'm not a big fan of using the finger.

It is far below freezing and snowing here, and this lip balm is performing well for me. It is just a petroleum based product - Kiehls call it a "skin protectact" which is accurate. I apply before I go out into the bitter cold, and it creates a barrier protecting my lips from the elements. It is not that moisturising in itself but it holds in the moisture that's already there. It feels exactly like Vaseline but with a pleasant vanilla flavour/ scent - a nicer, less synthetic-tasting vanilla than MAC's lip conditioner.
I do feel that it's overpriced for what it is. This only works for me because I use a "proper" nourishing lip balm morning and night, Bobbi Brown's, which actually conditions the lips as well as protecting them. The Kiehls is good for top-ups when I'm out and about - it would not be good enough for very dry lips on its own. It comes in a hygienic tube, but stupidly, it's not slanted so that it can be applied direct to lips. You have to apply to your finger first, which kind of defeats the purpose of a tube IMO.
*UPDATE* - I've found that this is excellent layered on top of a more sophisticated lip treatment - at the moment I'm using Nivea Repair in the mint-green tube, but anything will do as long as it is moisturising and not just petroleum. The Kiehls really seals the other lip balm in, so it works for much longer - especially if, like me, you find your lip balm evaporates in cold/ dry weather and has to be reapplied frequently.

Completely in love with this lip balm. The tube says it is petroleum, but I find it is much better than Vaseline. Yes, it is similar in consistency, but I find it is just a tad more substantial. It gives a really light healthy gleam, but for the most part I just use it underneath lipstick. Once it wears off, it seals my lips and never leaves them chapped or feeling dry. I love the vanilla. It's a light & simple vanilla, in my opinion.

Got this at Saks. I had read reviews of Kiehls Lip Balms and was weary of trying them due to the Vaseline comparisons. This goes on extremely smooth and feels like a gloss mixed with balm. It shines like a gloss as well, not too much, but it gives the lips a subtle sheen. I didn't get much of a vanilla scent. I hoped to though. The moisturizing it provides is actually quite good. My lips can get very dry and this protected them from that. The price is up there for a balm, but I adore Kiehls, so I don't mind the price.
