I have never left a review on any product, but after giving this cleanser/mask MULTIPLE tries I feel compelled to leave this review. Not only does it NOT live up to it's claims; but i feel like I am washing my face with body butter when using this stuff. My feels GREASIER than before I applied this stuff. I've tried using it as both a cleanser and a mask and neither worked for me. Not to mention taking it off, it comes off in chunks, literally; it's like this super weird consistency and i have to keep rubbing my face to take this crap off.
AND TO TOP IT OFF, it broke me out horribly! Before throwing this stuff out, I decided to give it one last try. Big Mistake. I have sensitive skin, but this stuff made me break out horribly. Seriously. I woke up this morning with acne near my ear and my jawline. I have never had breakouts there&& I know it was this "cleanser" because it was the only thing I changed in my skin care recently.
Save your money; this stuff is CRAP!

When I saw this at the drugstore I decided to give it a try, as I have oily skin and usually have to blot a few times during the day. When I used it a few times I thought I would really like the product as it did keep my skin shine free for a long period of time. After a few days of using this as a cleanser, I started getting dry patches on my skin which made makeup application really difficult. As well I do not recommend using this cleanser at night as it does not do a good job with taking makeup off. I stopped using this cleanser after the dry patches appeared on my skin. It works much better as a mask than a cleanser.

Honestly, I hate this product. I purchased it about two years ago and I still have most of the cleanser. When I used it the first time, I was excited since I had never really used something like this. It smelled nice, and I put it on my face. After using it for a while, I started getting hard painful lumps on my skin. Turns out, it was causing me to have nodular acne, though it claims to not clog pores. I take very good care of my skin and never had any issues like that before. It took months for them to finally go away and they haven't returned since I stopped using this face wash. Needless to say, I threw it out and I'm never going to buy it again.

I'm surprised by all the negative reviews on this! I love it! I use it every morning and it's the best cleanser I've found for oil control. It's creamy and smells nice and unoffensive. I let rub it on wet skin and let it sit while I make my bed, etc. Then I rinse it off. My skin is soft and not dry after. I don't use it at night because it's not good at taking off makeup. It's the perfect morning cleanser for me! No breakouts and no complaints

Just started using this, i took the risk of getting it after reading some of the terrible reviews, but i thought this would help my oiliness I get during P.E combining with my makeup, and have it help dry up my acne.
I don't use this as a daily cleanser, i use it as a mask, and I think if you use the mask instead of the cleanser, it changes what happens to your skin. My highschool has a schedule where we have classes 1,3,5,7 one day, and the next day 2,4,6,8. So I only use this every other day, the day before i have P.E, which works out well for me. After i do the mask, I moisturize with a moisturizer that treats acne. Before I use it, I cleanse, then exfoliate THEN use this. Crazy. But that's my skincare routine and it works out well for me. i have NO acne and im proud :)

Why did I buy this? Oh yeah, because I was looking for some retail therapy. Generally I don't buy things without checking reviews or at least making sure the company has a stellar reputation. Neutrogena is hit and miss. This was a miss for me.
At first I was duped by the colouring and texture, it almost seemed like I was washing my face with cake icing. Within a day or two, I noticed tiny breakouts. Another cheap cleanser that does more harm to your skin than good. I used to think that cheaping out on a cleanser was ok since you're washing it down the drain, not true ladies! One of the biggest mistakes people make is cheaping out on a cleanser. It can sabotage your entire skincare regime. Do yourself a favour and visit the higher-end section of your drugstore or go to a department store, Your skin will thank you.

I love the texture and scent of this facewash, however I bought it for the shine control and it doesn't help AT ALL. In fact, I'm almost convinced that my face is shinier at the end of the day than usual. I am so disappointed in this product! My face is pretty oily/shiny by the end of the day, so I wasn't expecting a miracle, but I was expecting a little bit of a difference since it claims it helps! Definitely will not repurchase.

Ick... not only does this actually burn your face when you apply it ("feel the cooling intensity as it goes deep down" my foot), it smells terrible and breaks me out like crazy. It also doesn't even remove my face makeup. Not good.

I have sensitive oily skin and this stuff broke me out . Doesn't do anything for my skin . I don't have really oily skin but after using this the next day my skin looked like I smeared grease on my face. Now its just sitting under my sink.

I have really oily skin in the summer and I bought it to keep the shine away, but the product did nothing to the shine.

It is one of my favourite cleansers, but it doesn't live up to its promises.

Expected better results with this product. I have extremely oily, acne-prone and sensitive skin and while this didn't irritate my skin, it really doesn't do what it claims. It doesn't even come close.

I tried using this as both a cleanser and mask, but as a cleanser, it does an extremely poor job. It removes virtually no makeup and leaves oil on my face, so deep cleaning it is not. It also doesn't foam at all and I don't like that.

As a mask, honestly, I feel as if it makes my face produce a ton more oil, and it tends to sting a bit.

However, I will continue to use this product until it's finished, why? Because it contains a small amount of Salicylic Acid and I feel like it might help a bit with my acne. I might eventually get tired of this and give it away. Will definitely not repurchase.

I honestly have no reasonable argument for buying this cleanser/mask other than I have ADD and I was all "OMG it's a mask!" when I saw it at the drugstore. I don't even have oily skin, in fact I have dry skin, so why I thought it was appropriate for me I have no idea. On the upside, my skin really seems to like this, which is kind of amazing. I've used it as a mask a half dozen times and as long as I apply it to my face while it's wet it doesn't dry me out, but has been great for banishing hormonal breakouts. I have used it as a cleanser a couple of times just to remove my nighttime moisturizer, and it's been okay, but as a mask I really like it.

I bought this for shine control and it doesn't do that for me. It smells good and leaves my face feeling clean without drying it out but if you're an oily person such as myself this is probably not the best cleanser to reduce shine.

This scrub doesn't live up to any of its claims. It had no effect on oil control, it left a film on my skin so it's not particularly "Deep Clean"ing, and it is definitely not gentle enough for daily use. It made my skin feel really irritated and dry even when I only used it once per week. I threw it out.

This is the first cream cleanser I've ever tried, and I really, really like it. I have sensitive, moderately oily skin and this is perfect for me! Most of the oil-controlling products I've used have been too harsh and ended up making me oilier, but I have not had that problem with this product. I tend to use it as both my cleanser and my mask, since I usually leave it on while I remove my eye makeup. It does sometimes feel like there's a bit of residue if I don't rinse it off thoroughly, but it leaves my skin very soft and it doesn't feel tight or dried out at all.

At first, I thought I really liked the product. I have the daily scrub, not the mask, but I think they are similar. It doesnt prevent shine from cooming back for hours (at least for me). I got shine back in an hour tops and I have to use blotting sheets throughtout the day anyways. I will be looking for a new scrub, and see if that one will work better...The price is affordable and you get a lot of product, but the longer you use it, the less is seemd to work for me..:/

WOW! you have no idea how HAPPY i am to FINALLY come across a cleanser that works for my super clogged pores! i have been struggling with clog pores (esp on the nose area) for 3 years. i have tried a good amount of cleansers (aveeno, other neutrogena cleansers, cetaphil, burts bees, etc and even those more natural cleansers from whold foods) and exfoliating didn't help much either. pore strips work just ok. no matter how many times i squeeze out the clogged stuff, they still come back. i have also spent numerous hours researching methods to clear clogged pores.
who knew this product would work like a dream?! i was skeptical of first. i doubted that it would absorb 85% of build up oil it claims to remove and i expected it to leave my face dry even though the packaging said it wouldn't.
however, this cleanser proves me wrong! the cleanser smells good and has this foamy/mousse texture with tiny blue beads. but you don't feel them.
so i massage it on my face for 20 seconds or so and on the first try, my nose was dramatically less bumpy/clearer and my skin was soft. it didn't dry out my skin at all!
but for the sensitive people, like i am, i wouldn't use it everyday. maybe every other day at night or something. i have realized if i use it everyday, i would get more clogged pores (just a little) and this red patch i have on my face would get even more red. plus, my face would get oilier. so now that i have toned down my usage of this cleanser, my skin is back to the way i want it.
on days that i don't use this, i use straight up oatmeal.
overall, i would DEF repurchase this!!

I was initially unsatisfied with this product, so I put it back in the medicine cabinet and there it sat for half a year. I generally prefer to scrub my face with my cleanser in a washcloth, and this doesn't lather so it wasn't working for me. But I ran out of other salicylic acid-based cleanser, so I pulled this one out of the medicine cabinet. Now I love it! Here's why:

I rub it into my face with no water at all. I let it stay on like a mask while brushing my teeth or wherever. After 2-3 minutes, I rinse it off with a washcloth. So it seems to work best if you leave it on for a bit. And use water only to rinse. My skin looks amazing, inspite of being very oily/breakout prone! Wahoo!

I'm loving this for summer. I have oily skin and I was intrigued by this when I first saw the ads. I wouldn't say that it keeps my skin shine-free for 8 hours, but it does work! Amazingly, it mattifys my skin and leaves it feeling soft. I can't wait to try the scrub when I finish my tube of the cream cleanser. Smells great too.

I have oily T-zone during summer and I've been using it every morning which has been really refreshing without stripping all the moisture out of my face. It doesn't keep out all the oil out during the day but it doesn't make my face extra oily. I have not used to remove my makeup or as a mask. But I'm lovin that it has not caused any breakouts and it only cost less than $7 CVS for a cleanser so I can't complain. Good summer cleanser for me.
