This is a very pretty color when it dries, but I had to put three to four coats on each nail on to have an opaque finish! The consistency is creamy, but the brush makes it difficult to apply smoothly because the polish drips down the handle of the brush when it's been nestled in the bottle. Not a bad polish, but not worth the $8.

Applies smooth and dries satisfyingly. Looks nice on short nails too.

Bummer. This just didn't work for me. Looks like mud on my nails. Not pretty. I was hoping for a kind of edgy but still flattering look but this just didn't cut it. I might try again on toes. Very sad.

Just like many of us I have thing for taupe nail polishes :) and Ingrid is one my favorite out of all the taupe polishes I own. Other than the amazing color, with China Glaze polishes one coat does it, dries super fast, and I guess it has something to do with the brush, it applies very smoothly with minimum flaws. Will purchase other colors from this brand.

I usually don’t wear brown because I think it doesn’t compliment my skin tone very well, but when I saw the swatch for this polish I thought that I should enlarge my polish collection with this particular brown. And it was a wise decision. This shade is too gorgeous. It is a kind of dusty medium brown / dark taupe packed with very fine golden shimmer. The weather is horrible for the moment so I didn’t get a chance to see it under direct sunlight, but I’m very happy to see that the golden shimmer is still noticeable indoors, so it never looks plain brown.
Formula is perfect, shiny and as smooth as a plain creme. The brush is precise and the polish glides on the nail effortlessly, and it gets completely opaque in two coats.
If you don’t own a similar colour, this is a must-have fall shade.

Another winner from china glaze. Being a taupe polish junkie, I had to have this one and it certainly doesn't disappoint at all!
I have most of the standard taupes (i.e. OPI Over the taupe, YDKJ, Essie Mink Muff, $OPI Metro Chic) ... what I love about this though is the addition of the gold microglitter/shimmer infused throughout. It just takes it from being a run-of-the-mill taupe to having a little something extra to draw the eye and kick it up a notch. This is a great shade for that transitional period between summer to fall, fall to winter, since it's not too light, nor even close to "vamp". A perfect neutral that is timeless. Another great shade from China Glaze!

I love this color looks very chic, dark, mysterious and sophisticated. I expected it to be a bit darker but its a medium dark color . You definitely need to apply 2 coats with this the first coat applies very sheer but with the second coat you can have full coverage. The texture is a bit thin and slightly watery but as I said with 2 coats the color becomes opaque . Its a medium dark brownish grey color looks very unusual and unique if you ask me and has a tiny amount of shimmer in it

I can't believe I ignored this color for so long.Ingrid came out with the fall Vixen collection by China Glaze. It's a brown/ dark taupe color with copper micro glitter. The formula was smooth and it dried in reasonable time. It's a great color when I'm in the mood for a brown/nude but with punch this is great.

Great colour, applies nicely, price was cheap. However even with a top coat this chipped in less than 12 hours - and I wasn't using my hands hardly at all in that time. Love the colour & the price is right so would still probably re-purchase. Will need to touch it up though.

This is such a sophisticated color. Its a nice medium brown with slight light brown shimmer. A touch taupe-y. Anything with a smidge of taupe is right up my alley, and this is no exception!

I bought this color thinking it was definitely "different" than my usual colors only to come home and find it pretty much matched with my entire wardrobe full of grays, blacks, browns and army greens (with a pop of red or coral here and there). Man, I'm predictable.
It's a really lovely greyed-out brown, with a shimmer just subtle enough to distinguish it from those cremey colors that dominate my collection. I've been wearing half-moon style as sometimes I find darker colors to be overwhelming on my pale, wimpy little hands. My first China Glaze purchase and I'm really impressed. Love the name too!

I love this more than any of the taupey griege brown toned polishes out there! Its awesome! And the bit of fine glitter adds a bit of pretty to an otherwise very simple nail polish.

As a dark skinned African-American woman, I thought Ingrid would be too dark and muddy against my complexion. Boy, was I wrong?! It is a beautiful dusty brown with shimmer. I love it as an everyday polish - it's appropriate for work and still chic enough for a night out. My only complaint is with China Glaze's formula, it seemed to chip quickly despite basecoat and topcoat. Overall, though, Ingrid is a gorgeous polish!
P.S. I bought this from a nail polish supply website at a 60% discount. Lovely polish at a great price.

I almost gave this away because I thought it was too close to OPI's You Don't Know Jacques. But as others mentioned, the big difference is that Ingrid has very fine gold shimmer. This makes the polish look very different in sunlight than indoors. In sunlight, you see a green tint and the shimmer is far more visible, almost giving the color a dark khaki/army green feel. OPI's YDKJ is a pure cream with no shimmer and never picks up any green tint for me - just purple/brown/grey nuances. If you are a nail polish fan, I think having both colors is not too redundant. I personally don't like anything shimmery for pedicures, so I would use OPIs for that and Ingrid for the manicure. 2 coats gave perfect coverage.

Ingrid nail polish is exactly what I wanted OPI's You Don't Jacques to be. While OPI's version is extremely flat, Ingrid has a very fine sparkle to it that brings more dimension to the color. I adore this color and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a gray, fun color. In comparison, OPI is a very dull gray and Sephora's Metro Chic is has much more lavender undertones. Ingrid has a golden undertone which makes it look fabulous on warmer skin tones.

I looove griege nail polishes and I enjoyed this because it was kind of greige-plus. The plus being really pretty gold shimmer. The color itself remind me a lot of OPI's You Don't Know Jacques and when I finished my bottle of that, this seemed like a great replacement. Whoever said it looks like chocolate milk was pretty right on. Only thing I would change is the price!

Ingrid is a brown that leans grey-- people have compared it to chocolate milk and that's a pretty accurate visual. Or cocoa powder but darker. there's a slight gold shimmer that helps warm it up but it's not visible except under good lighting. I've been hesitant to try the greige trend so I got Ingrid to sort of break myself in. I was afraid of dead looking nails but I'm pleasantly surprised by how flattering it is. Its a 3 coater for me and I used it with SH quick dry top coat. I'm on day 3 and aside from some minor tipping it looks great.

This polish caught my eye right away, when I saw the display first put out at my favorite beauty supply store. It's a beautiful medium brown with a subtle gold shimmer, and appears fairly close to bottle color. In two coats I get opaque coverage, and the length of wear is considerable. It's not at all streaky, nor is it too thick or too thin. China Glaze for me has had some hits and misses, but this is definitely a hit.

A lovely dark brown color with faint golden shimmer. This color is so appropriate for every day wear, and looks great on my pale fingers.
It is easy to apply and looks great in two coats. The shimmer is not very visible in doors, but in good lighting it looks great. It last as well on me as any other nail polish.
I love "Ingrid"!

This is the perfect fall color! Like others have mentioned, it's a taupey brown with subtle gold shimmer. Was opaque in two coats and wears well. My nails are going to look perfect on Thanksgiving!
