I have "Demure Vix" and not Demure Vixen (Vix is apparently the drugstore version, Vixen the salon version). This is such a lovely, unexpected and unusual color. It's a cool toned, light, dusky mauve with pink shimmer. I'd describe it as a neutral with an extra. It's become a favorite of mine and I wear it a lot, so much so that I've bought backups since it's such a hard color to find. The polish is quite sheer, so to get around this I usually apply a coat of Essie "Ladylike" as underwear, then one coat of Demure Vix. I find this combo makes the polish opaque in two coats, since Demure Vix on its own seems to require 3-4 coats for opacity.

loved this colour but it only looks good after 3 coats. Similar to Tickle my France-y by OPI but with more irridescence. In some lights it looks mauve, in others grey lilac, and sometimes almost pink. It is a classy and work appropriate colour, but I'm irritated it doesn't look good after 2 coats - my nails just look muddy with a visible nail line. The 3rd coat is essential for it to look gorgeous and opaque, but I find it still shows a faint nail line. It chipped fairly quickly, so I think I'll stick with Tickle My France-y for a long wearing mauve-grey that only needs 2 coats not 3.

This is a beautiful subtle color, I would describe it as a mauve/lavender color. One coat will give you a very light wash of color, you'll need 3 coats to get the most opacity and vibrancy. It is perfect for making nails look polished without looking overly done.
I won't give it 5 stars because it take 3 coats to achieve the best look, which means extra drying time.

Very nice subtle color. It's kind of like a good foundation - just makes your nails and hands look great. Doesn't show chips that bad. Very work appropriate. I have gotten quite a few compliments on this. Very nice.

Demure Vixen is one of the only polishes I have owned in mini form and felt it necessary to buy the full size.It is such a complicated yet subtle colour and definitely one of my most worn although I usually gravitate toward blacks, browns and reds. I find light pink shades hard to pull off on my short nails.. I don't even like Bubble Bath by OPI. I would have thought looking at the bottle that this would be in a similiar vein however, for some reason, the light purplish neutral is so much prettier and generally more modern.

The color is kind of blehh....it looks more beautiful in the bottle than on the nail...requires 2-3 coats to achieve the color wanted.

I like very subtle colors for work, and this fits the bill! Swatches on the internet had me a little concerned about the shimmer, but it really isn't much at all. This color works with everything. It is not opaque, so multiple coats are a must. I topped with Seche Vite, and this has lasted 3 days.

Absolutely in love with this polish!!! I can't stop myself going back to this again and again! It's the prettiest colour - a dusty mauve/pink/beigey colour with the prettiest purpley/pink shimmer which really sets it off. It's got enough colour not too look like a plain neutral on the nails but it's also the perfect polish to match everything you're wearing and not be too much for work. I wish there was a little bit more of the purple shimmer though as it only really shows up in the light - but on the whole - a totally gorgeous colour which I would definitely buy again! The name is also amazing! It totally sums the polish up!! Nice and sweet with a hidden glimmer ;)

I'm having some crap luck lately with overly thick formulas. This took me two goes to get right. The second attempt I thinned down the formula a bit and application was much smother. But by that stage it was getting late. It could really have used three coats but I didn't want to go to bed without my nails completely dry so I only did two.
As for the colour it's pretty and inoffensive. A neutral pink. Reminds me of a Clarins polish I have called 'Dusty Pink' which I've always loved. Probably wouldn't bother buying again because I prefer the Clarins one.

I have the european edition with the new wide brush (i dont know if its available in the US) and I must say the formula is absolutely great! Not too thick, not too watery and the color is nice too, very elegant and subtle not too bright. You cant see the little sparkles unless you put in under bright light though.
Formula: perfect
Lasting time: very long, about 4-5 days
No bubbles and absolutely no streaks at all.

Everyone keeps oohing and awwing over Demure Vixen but it's hard for me to see why. Demure Vixen is a warm-toned light beige with purple shimmer on me. And while I adore the shimmer I'd hoped the base color would be more wearable for my NW15-20 skin. It's not. The base is too warm and doesn't sit well with the cool-toned shimmer and my cool-toned skin imho.
It's a nice polish, don't get me wrong. But it's not the A-List material for me.

This is one of the neutral polishes you need in your stash. Its modern, classy, edgy and goes with almost everything. Its quite a chameleon color. In fluorescent light the cool grey purple tint show up. In warm or soft light its more of a muted brown putty color. Its a sheer cream and all you need is 2-3 coats and lasts for a week without touchups.

I love this polish, its a mauvy pink polish with fine purplish shimmer. Its very feminine and girly, appropriate for office. Takes two coats to get an opaque, even finish.

Lovely colour BUT I think it would look best on either very fair og dark skin. Medium, not so much! The formula is very runny -3 coast and I can still see my nail through it! Have not liked it enough to let it stay on the nail long enough to comment on the staying power. IŽll be giving this one away!!

gorgeous light mauve color, with a slight lavender shimmer. Great application, and the shimmer is pretty, be warned though that the shimmer is not as strong as in the bottle.

I loved this polish when I first used it looked great, smooth application. However when I went to use the polish for the 2nd time the colour had changed to a raisin type oclour, not a colour I would have chosen to buy.
Very disappointing

This is a very pretty, subtle nail polish, but like everyone already said, it's hard to classify. It's not light enough to be a true pastel, but it is sort of a milky, browny-lilac color with a pink shine. It looks more vibrant outdoors and much more nude indoors, which makes it a great color for wearing to work or out with friends. The color technically has subtle pink shimmer that you can see in the tube, but the shimmer barely shows up on my nails and is only visible if you look veeeery closely under very bright light.
The formula is quite runny but surprisingly not streaky. It also goes on sheer for the 1st coat but is opaque by the 2nd coat, which makes it much easier/quicker to work with (in my opinion) than the thicker cream polishes from OPI.
I'm taking off a lippie because it's not incredibly long-lasting. Compared to my OPI polishes that last a good week, I think this color lasts only about 2-3 days before chipping.

I really like this color mostly because of how perplex it is. It seems to look different on everyone and it can't decide whether it wants to be a murky light brown, mauve, lavender, or pink. And on top of that, it ends up looking very neutral on the nails. It's a really unique color and the shimmers add to its distinctiveness. Best of all is its easy application, a tad streaky on the first coat but just right with 2-3 coats. It's definitely a keeper and a good year-round color.

This is a hard color for me to describe....it's both subtle and really unique at the same time. In different lights it can lean gray, lavender or beige. The shimmer is very subtle. It's a good office color but is not boring. I intended to buy Chinchilly as I'm crazy for gray polishes but this one caught my eye instead. I'm very happy with this purchase!

So surprised that I love this color. I thought it might be too light and blend in with my skin tone, but it looks really pretty on my NW20 skin. It's hard to describe the color. Kind of a light purple, mauve with a sheen. it applied beautifully. I used two coats, but I really should add another. It's pretty sheer. It's a very pretty spring or neutral work color.
