I love Trader Joe's for their food and recently discovered their beauty section. I picked up this face lotion randomly just because I ran out of my old lotion. It was under five dollars. The lotion has a VERY light citrus scent, nothing overpowering or that irritates my skin. I love how its a bit gel-like in consistency. I wouldn't call it a lotion. I love this and use it everyday! I just wish it had SPF.

I've been using this product for a few months now. I really like it at night. I like the smell it smells sweet and kind of earthy. I think it moisturizes really well.

For the first 5 days, I loved this. It made my skin glow. Now I am dealing with completely spotty breakouts around my whole face and the worst chin congestion I've had in months. I know it was this because it's the only thing that's changed in my routine. I am banishing it! I have to go deal with this breakout now. :( VERY disappointing.

This is a wonderful moisturizer~! Especially for really dry skin! I have oily/combination skin so this works best for me as an under eye moisturizer or if i need that extra boost of moisture :3
Also the ingredients are free of harsh chemicals, like papabens~

I tried this because I was looking for a good but inexpensive moisturizer and I love Trader Joe's products most of the time. When I used it the first time, the smell almost knocked me over! Some people are saying in their reviews that it smells like oranges or Tang, but the bottle I had didn't even smell citrus-y to me, just overpoweringly of "fragrance" in a bad way. This makes me wonder if there is some inconsistency with their batches. I almost stopped using it because of the smell, but I actually really like the formula. It absorbs so nicely and leaves my skin feeling smooth. I am currently using a different brand of moisturizer, but when I finish it up I am going to give this a shot again. Hopefully the next bottle will be lighter on the scent!

I tried this because I liked some of the ingredients and loved the price. The pump bottle is a nice feature as well. I have very dry skin, and this wasn't quite moisturizing enough. It also felt a little sticky. My main complaint, though, is that it smells strongly of fake oranges and reminds me very much of those citrus deodorizers that public bathrooms sometimes spray, only much, much stronger. I used this for 2-3 weeks and had to throw the rest away because of the smell. Wouldn't have repurchased anyway because the performance wasn't good enough, but the smell was unbearable.

I used some at a friend's house in Boston - it was a light, slightly oily moisturizer with a citrus smell and it was fantastic! Then I purchased some at home in Seattle, and it was the grandma smell lot that has a bad matte feeling to it going on and the smell does not go away. Obviously the company has two completely different lotions under the same label - disappointing. Smell before buying.

I'm pretty sure this lotion broke me out, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it for the acne prone. The thing is, it's very oily and no matter how non-comedogenic the oil is, it's never good to have this much on your skin if your prone to breakouts (at least, this seems to be the case for me). Anyways, I have combo skin, and like I said, this lotion made me REALLY oily throughout the day. I don't usually wear powder (with the right moisturizer I never have to) but this stuff had me breaking out the baby powder. Not an hour after I'd powdered it on, I'd look into the mirror to discover that I'd become very oily again; it was like a really disturbing flashback to my overly hormonal teen years and it happened every time I wore this stuff. So I had to delete a 'stick for that. Another 'stick had to be deleted for the overpowering scent. I actually love scented products, and this smelled really good to me at the store, but man, every time I put it on the scent was just so overpowering that I often felt like I could taste it during application!

That said, this IS a nice light moisturizing lotion (those are hard to find in my opinion) and I did enjoy the hydration and suppleness it seemed to give me. I think it's probably suitable for every other skin type. It's definitely one of those things that I wish I could wear, and it's only $3.99 (!), so it's worth trying. Someday I'm hoping I'll get the courage to wear it just at night.

My HG face lotion. Most face lotions cause breakouts for me, not this one. It smells sweet and citrus, I love it's scent. It is non greasy and absorbs quickly. It's also inexpensive. I really love it and have repurchased several times. The only con is there is no SPF.

I don't know what all of these other reviewers are talking about, this lotion isn't stinky at all. it smells like sweet oranges and is a fairly light scent. It's not floral at all. Maybe it varies in batches, but I have repurchased 3 times and have never gotten an over powering stinky smelling lotion.

Good stuff. I wonder if the batches are inconsistent, because the smell on mine fades soon after it's dried, and I have a nose like a bloodhound. Smells of citrus when it's going on. Moisturizes well if you like in a drier climate--may not be enough for those with very dry skin or very arid climates, but it's OK for me in Chicago in springtime. I'm oily (but prone to dehydration), and it's not too heavy either. A nice, inexpensive find!

I agree with Oosagi - I forced myself to keep trying to use it but the smell was just awful! I couldn't even use it as a hand cream, it's that strong (and overpowering.) I gave it to my neighbor with a warning, but I don't think she liked it either. I don't know how good it works because I didn't make it past three uses. Stinky!

I love the SPA cleanser, smell and all, but ohmygod this moisturizer reeks! It doesn't smell orangey to me, more like a floral grandma smell, or a like a cheap hotel soap. Ugh. And it's so strong, totally overpowering! There is no way I could wear this stuff on my face, and it's too bad, because the texture seems really nice. Packaging is great. Price is good. It just stinks.

This has been my daily moisturizer for several months now. I use it underneath Neutrogena liquid sunscreen and at night. I'm already on my second bottle and I like it pretty well - the pump is sanitary, it doesn't break me out and it moisturizes well. The only real drawback is that it smells like Tang, but it absorbs quickly and hasn't bothered my skin.

I have to agree with the other reviewers about the smell. It's really awful and overpowering. I smelled it all day long and there was no chance of wearing a fragrance. It would have clashed horribly. I think the moisturizer itself was decent, but I kept imagining my skin absorbing that icky smell!

I bought this face lotion about 3 weeks ago and so far I'm definitely liking it more than any of my previous moisturizers. My skin is somewhat dry but this keeps my face moisturized very well throughout the day, I wouldn't however recommend it to someone with VERY dry skin as it probably wouldn't do the job. It's very light and doesn't make my skin look oily or greasy at all. It is a little bit sticky compared to other lotions out there, but I don't consider it very noticeable at all. The smell does put some people off but I find it a very pleasant citrus-y scent that isn't too overpowering, but definitely noticeable. In the past I've used Clinique and Murad moisturizers but they were a bit too thick or oily for me; this face lotion seems to be a good fit for me and I recommend it to people with average to oily skin who aren't too bothered by a strong smell.

I bought this because I was totally out of moisturizer and it was super affordable. I love the ingredients and how it feels blah blah blah.
The fragrance is whats keeping me from loving this. I don't know how they got it through testing when every time I put it on I can taste it. To make matters worse its a perfume type scent, not a natural flowery scent so that makes it gross to me. With that said I can't beat the price so I'm going to stick with it and keep coffee near by to repel the taste.

If perfume doesn't bother you I say go for it, you have nothing to loose! :)

This lotion works the best of all of them, on my skin, and it's my go-to lotion right now. My skin is oily and dry at the same time, and very sensitive. This lotion is light enough for the oily bits and moisturizing enough for the dry, flaky bits. I can't give it 5 stars because the fragrance sometimes makes me queasy, not because I dislike it, but because it is a bit strong for a face lotion. I absolutely have to avoid getting any on my upper lip.

My best friend has started borrowing it from me, even though he hates the smell more than I do. He's one of those people who always had beautiful perfect skin up until two years ago, when it started to get drier. Age, I guess. The only two lotions that don't make him break out are this one and Cetaphil.

As a side note, I was at Whole Foods today looking for a lotion with similar qualities and ingredients with less fragrance when I found the exact same lotion (fragrance, color, and exact ingredients) under a different branding, at over $18 a bottle. I guess it's a steal from Trader Joe's.

This is a great basic moisturizer for me. I have combo/oily skin, and this wears non-greasy for me. Very light, wears well under makeup. I mix a tiny bit with my MAC Studio Moisture Tint on days I want even less coverage and more moisture. The pump packaging is excellent, its very easy to dispense the exact amount of product that you want. And its super cheap at Trader Joe's!

Potential cons for some folks: no SPF, and the distinct 'Tang' citrus smell. Neither of these things bother me, but its something to keep in mind. I would no recommend this product for dry skin types, as it will probably not be moisturizing enough for you. This also doesn't really have an anti-aging/etc. special effects, its just a basic moisturizer.

This has become my daily go-to, and I might purchase it again in the future.

i just bought this last night and used it this morning and i am GAGGING on the fragrance. how can anyone think this smells ok? this is so overpowering that it has been 3 hours and i can still smell the lotion emanating off my upper lip into my nostrils and its just so CLOYING! the texture very light but it dries much too quickly and doesnt moisturize that well. i have very oily, acne prone skin so that shouldnt be a problem for me. there were still dry patches of skin after application. ok so all of that, i can deal with, but the FRAGRANCE? the smell is why i am returning it. if it was fragrance free, i would keep this for $4.99! but its so gross that i feel a migraine coming on. back to my more expensive obagi lotion... :( love the price, HATE the smell.
