I have Mac's prep and prime skin base visage but seldomly use it. Hate the sparkles which accentuate any bumps or dry patches on my skin. LOVE this primer! I have never tried smashbox and won't either because this one has become my HG: smooth and makeup looks fresh all day. I only started getting slightly oily after 6hrs or so and a little blot powder fixed that. Palladio is scoring high on my list. Check out the eyeshadow primer too; it works wonders!

Didn't work for me, I'm not a fan of gooey "velvety" primers. Made me extra oily (how!? right???) but I gave it to my mom who also suffers from oily skin and it did the trick for her.

Point is, if you have touchy acne-prone sensitive skin... don't buy this.

If you have normal oily skin, go for it!

i love this so much! its EXACTLY like smashbox, its a bit creamy-er actually. its a gel, and smooths out all the little bumps and creases, it keeps foundation on allllll day! the only thing is, it DOES have an expiration date, i believe its a pretty natural product(the whole line is...dont quote me on that though! haha) so if you dont use it in about 6 months, it doesnt work AS well. ive repurchased, and repurchased again, the only thing i dont like is the tube, its kind of hard to get the last bit out when youre almost done.

Having used this primer for well over a year now, I can honestly say that it works fantastically well for my skin, and I will continue to repurchase. I have dry-ish skin, but still get the typical T-zone shine by midday, so I apply the primer to my sunscreened moisturized skin, only concentrating on my nose and chin. Atop the primer, my concealer (L'oreal TrueMatch) just glides on in a smooth finish, ready for a dusting of loose powder. My pores remain smooth and invisible through the entire day, and I tend to blot my nose only once in the afternoon and apply a touch-up of compact powder at that time. Essentially, this primer ensures that my complexion looks fresh from morning until bedtime. I've never experienced any blemishes or clogged pores related to the primer (many other ones have caused this in the past for me). I agree with the other posters who reference that this primer is better recommended for the less oily complexions. Personally, I love that it lends such smoothness while remaining non-drying. I'm not certain, but for me it seems to even have somewhat of a humectant effect, in fact. For my fellow MUAers with dry or dry-normal complexions, I think this product is worth a try. I purchase mine at Sally Beauty Supply, where it tends to cost somewhere between $9 and $11, depending upon sales and coupons.

This primer isn't the best I've used, but I like it a lot. I sometimes wear it alone & other times wear it under a powder or foundation. I love how lightweight it is & how smooth it feels on my face. However, I do feel like it just SITS on my face. It doesn't make my makeup longer-lasting & it doesn't work long on my skin.

I'd purchase this primer again though as I've received compliments on my face when wearing it with only a powder on top of it.

I have tried a few primers but I always went back to the Rimmel London primer. I then saw a makeup tutorial and the girl was using this primer so just as soon as I heard herbal i was sold. I am from Europe and if it's anything we believe in it's herbal things! lol

So I purchased this primer on Amazon for about $12 and I love it. I know that people compare it to smashbox's primer but I have never tried it out so I am not sure. It definitely does have a completely different texture from Rimmel London's primer because when I apply it to my face I don't feel anything and then my skin is just silky smooth. I think the silkiness feeling is good for applying foundation just because it goes on smoothly. I really like this primer so far and will definitely repurchase.

I have a lot of primers. This is definitely reviewed after trying at least 100 other primers. I have to say that I really like it. My skin can be really oily at times and if you are woman, you know when... I use this with BE and surprisingly, BE original formula lasts on me. I do not even use the veil in that brand because this primer does a great job in keeping the powder on my face. Great product for oily gals.

This is not designed for oily skin. I wish people with oily skin would stop putting negative reviews out there on this because this is not for you to begin with so obviously it isn't going to do what you want it to do. I have extremely dry skin and it is next to impossible to find any product for dry skin that are "real" and not just trying to sell me some wrinkle crap that I don't need. I was really glad to find this product because it is designed specifically for DRY skin. This has a very smooth finish and it makes my foundation go on smooth and last all day long. As far as the price, I'm used to shelling out tons of money so I am extremely happy that this is so inexpensive. I mean I don't think you can find a good primer for around $12, so I don't know how anyone can complain about that. For all of you that have oily skin, try the MAC mattifying gel or Two Faced Primed and Poreless. Just next time you want to buy something try to find one that is correct for your skin type rather than bashing a product that you shouldn't be using to begin with. that happens all the time on this site and it is starting to drive me up the wall. that and when people use products wrong and then complain about them. Sorry, I'll get off my high horse now.

I bought this after hearing raves from many that it's better than the high end primers on the market. However, I highly dissagree. I don't know what sort of skin-type could make this stuff work, but it certainly didn't play well with my oily skin. For a primer, it didn't prime at all. This product is basically silicone in a tube. It doesn't stick to the skin, & it never dries. Hence, my foundation was still greasy even after using a ton of setting powder. It slid right off my face & balled up any skincare products I had underneath.

I will not repurchase this.

This primer is very comparable to Smashbox Photo Finish, but much more affordable- what's not to like? It does everything I want a primer to do, and I'll be re-purchasing.

This is a very early review, I picked this up to wear out for NYE and WOW. Smoothest surface ever thanks to this primer. Only a small amount is needed, and IMO a little goes a long way, it spreads quite easily. I wore my NARS SG over it, and the finish was perfect. I am a long time acne sufferer, and have a lot of pink marks on my cheeks/chin as a result - this really helped the MU cling and cover seamlessly. I will update if this product irritates my skin, for the moment, though - it's awesome!

I LIVE BY THE STUFF since I tried it. I just cant wear foundation without it anymore! It really helps my foundation last all day. And my forehead tends to get oily throughout the day but since i bought this stuff it doesnt do so anymore. It is so silky on my skin and makes it so soft i absolutely love it! Its so worth the price. I thought 11.99 was kind of expensive but definitely not compared to smashbox and those brands. I will gladly pay the 11.99 whenever I run out because it is such a great quality product.

Palladio Foundation Primer is a great primer. Its been compared to the Smashbox primer but I've never used that brand so I can't say thats true. However I can compare it to Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Primer and I think the Palladio product is drastically better. It goes on smoothly without a greasy feeling, but what I really like the most is how my foundation feels and wears thru the day. It stops my makeup from getting oily. Love it :)

This is the first and only primer that I've used so far, so I can't compare it with anything else. I chose to buy this primer since it's more affordable compared to the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer.

I love the texture of this primer and I like how it makes my skin smooth and prepped for concealer and foundation. It has a powdery finish and it makes my concealer glide easier. It does make my makeup last a bit longer. Without primer, my makeup would last an average of about 5 hours. When I started using this primer, my makeup would last up to about 6-7 hours, provided that I blot during the day since I have oily skin. Given the price of this product (about $11 to $12), it pretty much does a good job of making my makeup last longer than usual.

The only thing I don't like about this primer is that when you buy this and you use it for the first time, you'll find that when you open it the tube is only about 3/4 full. I would prefer to get the most out of my money, so finding this primer to be only 75 - 80% full is definitely a drawback. For the meantime, I would repurchase this if I don't find something that works better. I wouldn't consider this as HG status just yet. I would say that this does live up to its claim of providing a flawless powder/foundation application :)

I like this product because it does make my makeup last, and the feeling when your putting it it's really good :3 the only think that I don't like was the packaging because (at least in my bottle) it had like 85% of the product leaft, when i buy it all the others were the same so /: but overall it does a decent job and does help with the staying power of makeup (:

My first ever face primer (and review, hooray me!). Since I have nothing to compare it with, I'd say that it's pretty decent. I love, LOVE the silky, smooth effect it leaves on my face while applying my make-up. But still, my T-zones tend to appear shiny, really not that oily, from camera flashes. So every 3-4 hours I have to blot them out with a oil control film and/or pat on my in2it powder foundation (my everyday face powder).
I attempted to use it on my oily eyelids with my coastal scents eye shadows. Creases pretty badly.
Will I still buy it? Nope, I could live without it. Probably need to search for my HG primer for me to appreciate face primers. Still kinda new to this products.

This primer is very silky and creates a nice canvas for foundation. I do believe it blocks my pores as my skin has got worse since I began using it. I do hate the packaging as the lid doesn't seal the product properly and it overflows all over the inside of the cap and gets very messy. I think its too expensive as well.

I used to use the Smashbox primer but given the economy I had to cut back on certain items :( I found out about this from YT Emilynoel83's review.
I have sensitive skin and this primer doesn't break me out. I like it as an alternative to Smashbox. The texture is silky but not as silky as Smashbox. It gets the job done and is way cheaper. You can find it at Ulta or Sally's Beauty Supply. It makes my makeup last long. I'm already on my second tube. I like the idea that it is herbal too. Try it!

hmm, this product leaves me feeling very ambiguous!! i'm not sure if i apply too much or too little at times, but i simply cannot seem to find a way to make it work the way i want it to. it applies super silky, but i don't feel that it controls my extremely oily skin. it does help my foundation FEEL smoother but i cant say that it makes it LOOK any better, or last any longer. It actually makes my skin look a bit cakey when i get oily. I did recommend it to a friend with normal skin and she is totally in love, product sold!! i guess it's just not meant for oil control? i'm not sure, but i guess if you don't have oily skin you should give it a try. its not expensive, in my opinion, and i guess the packaging could be a little better.

hope this helps =]
