What a fantastic cheap buy. I got a liter each of the shampoo and conditioner for $25 total and it will probably last me and my husband a year. The shampoo gives the richest lather I've ever gotten from a sulfate-free formula and the conditioner is just divine, thick and creamy but clean rinsing. I've been using the pair of them for about two months and my hair (shoulder length, fine, color treated) just loves it. And it smells like some fantastically decadent dessert. Win-win-win.
$12.49 for a 1 liter plastic pump bottle.

This is a very nice shampoo. I wash my hair daily and it does not dry my hair out. Lathers well and I only need 1 pump. The pump is hard to use at first, but it gets easier over time. My hair does get some build up so I use a clarifying shampoo or apple cider vinegar rinse once a week.

I used to use Pureology Hydrate (my HG!) shampoo and conditioner but I fell on hard times and had to switch because of the price. I decided to try a cheaper sulfate-free alternative so I chose Kirkland Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner in the 33oz size. I think I paid $9.99 for the shampoo and $7.99 for the conditioner. Since I started using this shampoo and conditioner the top half of my hair gets greasy and tangled by the end of the day. Also, the ends are really dry. Seriously, I can't even get my hairbrush through it! I tried using a leave-in conditioner and de-tangler to help with the knots but it only adds to the greasiness.
I'm so frustrated with this Kirkland shampoo! Time to try something else. See my review of Dove Daily Moisture Shampoo!

After using every other product under the sun, Kerastase is still my all time favoite. HOWEVER, for the price? forget it. The Kirkland moisturizing shampoo is the bomb. I have colored hair and it doesn't dade my color out. My hair is moisturzied, and I'm happy when I look at my checking account.

LOVE this stuff. Love the smell, love the way it cleans my hair. Love the price! I cant say one bad thing about this shampoo. It cleanses my hair well without drying it out or leaving a heavy residue. I love the smell also. And the price cannot be beat!

This is my subjective review based on my hair type and personal opinions, so take it for what it is.
For reference, my hair is very fine in texture, extremely thick (I have a ton of hair), and is slightly wavy/has body. Not damaged or color treated, but the wave/body of my hair type can have a slight fizziness or poof if I use the wrong products(i.e. highly alkaline and "clarifying" products).
Now to the review of *this* product-
PROS:
*Tames (if not **over-tames** for my hair type, SEE CONS) frizz and poof-hair -
*Provides a lot of shine/slickness -
*Moisturizes scalp, seems to reduce/eliminate flaking from scalp that is common in winter months -
*Fabulous scent, it's a sweet fruity flowerly unique scent that I really like a lot. But it's faint. (SEE CONS)-
*Probably a great product for those who want to shampoo daily, such as persons who go to the gym every day -
*Dirt cheap (at Costco, anyway)
CONS:
*Over-tames my hair to the point where styling it with a flat iron or curling iron makes my hair stick to my scalp and just "hang flat" and lifeless (if that makes sense). All body is counteracted with this shampoo. (Again, for my hair type.)-
*I have to shampoo **every day**. Which I know many people like, but I don't. I prefer to shampoo my hair every other day or every 3 days. This shampoo will not allow for anything less than **daily** shampooing(again, for my hair type). My hair looks like a dirty "haven't washed my hair for a month" mess after 24 hours.
I have side-swept bangs, which look and dry amazing after shampooing with this product, but they seriously stick up on end like Mary in the movie "There's Something About Mary" after only one day. Only greasy instead of 'crunchy' or whatever was going on with her bangs after the 'incident.' -
*As I said in the pro's, I really like the scent of this shampoo. But I'm used to using salon shampoos, so I'm used to my hair smelling amazing for at least 2 days. This shampoo smells great when you pump it out, but the scent completely disappears to something like a "fragrance-free" product during the lather. It just..vanishes. And my hair is completely absent of any scent after my shower. It smells like nothing whatsoever, not clean, not anything. That may be a pro for some, but it's a big fat con for me. And it's especially disappointing because this is probably the best smelling shampoo I've ever come across.
*My hair gets static with this product. (If I don't use a product like TGI After Party, but After Party smells amazing so the need to use it also counteracts the completely "fragrance-free" consequences of the con listed directly above)
Would I recommend this shampoo? Honestly, I probably would. I definitely think it's a handy product to have in your gym bag and shower. Would I recommend it to permanently replace anyone's favorite shampoo? It really depends on your needs and your hair type, but in all likelihood... probably not.
The pro's are why I think it might be a handy shampoo to have on-hand for many, and the cons are why I think this product is certainly not a "Holy Grail" product for many, but most especially, for myself.
As a side note, I noticed other reviews for this product commented about the lack of lather {note: this review was originally written on Amazon}, but for me, yes, this product definitely had a lot less lather on the first shampooing (as with most shampoos) but on the second it lathered to an insane degree (as with most shampoos). And by "most shampoos" I mean salon shampoos, not drugstore because I haven't used a drug store shampoo since high school, probably. So, 15 years? They may have improved since then for all I know, but the difference between salon vs. drugstore was so significant that I never went back, and my venturing out to trying this Kirkland brand shampoo was only because I deeply respect and trust Costco.

I really wanted to like this. As a nanoworks lover, I thought this would be a great alternative and much less $. I gave it a solid MONTH to try it and can hands-down say its CRAP. I have fine, highlighted, long hair and it just kept getting more and more limp, snarly and gross with continued use. I even did a few clarifying trtments thinking it was build up. Sure enough, I went to get a touch up with my normal hair stylist and she told me to STOP whatever it was I had changed in my routine..my hair was breaking inches off all along the crown area and that is the ONLY thing I had changed in my routine. Two days in to switching back to my usual nanoworks and its back to its soft, shiny, happy self. Worst $ I have ever spent. Set me back MONTHS of growing out my layers. I hate this product and so mad I listened to the hype.

I have 2b/ 2c medium/ coarse textured hair with normal porosity and normal elasticity. I blow dry and flat iron regularly. I have tried a number of sulfate free shampoos and have to say I do like this. I do clarify every couple of weeks as I use styling products regularly.
Pros
- Dirt cheap- £8ish for 1litre. I was spending £10 for 250ml on shampoos and this is a fraction of the cost.
- Cleans really well, without stripping and without leaving a waxy coating.
- Gives a really gentle lather. A lot of sulfate free shampoos don't lather well, making them difficult to work through the hair properly. This isn't the case at all.
- Smells fresh without leaving an overpowering lingering scent.
- Doesn't cause breakouts which some people have reported in reviews
- Sodium chloride free so safe to use on BKTd hair.
Cons
- The big bottle is cumbersome and doesn't fit in my shower rack. I keep it in a bathroom cupboard and take it into the shower with me for hair wash days. I wish it came in 2x 500ml bottles.

this is a good sulfatefree shampoo, it smells amazing (very similar to pureology nanoworks) but that being said ... if ur useing a sulfatefree shampoo how do you get rid of the build up of hardwater minerals silicones ect.. this shampoo has 2 different silicones in it then the condiioner 2nd ingredient is silicone ... so this sh/conditioner combo is just full of cones ... so its not really cleanning your hair is just wrapping the strrands in silicone. i have the biggest curly hair that STILL has good volume when i straighten it i used this combo s/c for a week every other day and clarifyed with redkens clarify shampoo (HG product) but then over the month of using it i noticed my hair wouldnt feel as clean because of all the silicone build up and it would get oily by the end of the day .... ive NEVER had a problem with my hair getting oily so fast, i ussually can go for 2 days without washign my hair and it wont get greasy, but with this shampoo it got oily so fast -__- and FLAATTT absolubtly zero volume. this happend to me with the moroccanoil shampoo too. yes i know it smells good but that DOESNOTT mean its good for your hair.

For the past 6 months, I have been striving for healthier hair. One of the things I switched was my shampoo...to this one. This shampoo transformed my tangly, thick, curly, frizzy hair into long, shiny locks!!! This definitely is my HG shampoo FOR LIFE!! It works absolutely amazingly and I totally recommend it for anyone...especially if you have kids!

This is the first shampoo that has not made my hair all knotty when I lather it. I love the way my hair feels nice and soft after I rinse it out (even before the conditioner). The price is spot on ($9.xx/liter) and it's always available at Costco. Nice smell, not too strong. I also like how I only need one pump for my shoulder blade-length hair. This will last me a long time. I think this will be my HG shampoo for a long time.

HG status...one of my favorite shampoo/conditioner duos and I have tried it alllll from kerastase to suave. I am not a hater of sulfates ...So I will use products depending on how it makes my hair feel/look. I have tried several products from pureology and this brand outbeats it by far! My hair is left unusually shiny and smooth! Also the scent is nice and my hair never seems to get buildup ,etc.

My hair is a hot mess. It is fine, thin, curly, dry, grease prone, frizzy, color treated, and falling out like crazy (for the past 6 years from the pill) and also has tons of regrowth baby hairs all around WITH cowlicks. Hot. MESS. I had been using high end volumizing products (Amplify, Big Sexy Hair) knowing full well my hair was getting stripped and completely destroyed. I got a hair cut and was given Pravana sulfate free shampoo. I used it, and was completely enamored with the idea of using a non-stripping shampoo and ending up with just as much volume as before. Snooping around for sulfate free shampoo I found this, and ordered it on Amazon (I am not a Costco member...yet).
Pros:
Smells great (subtle sweet smell)
Great bargain for such a huge bottle
Pump (tight, yes, but controlled so you're not wasting product)
Getting my shine back
Lathers a little
Hair turning out smoother, less dry
Cons:
This was working great for two weeks (I shampoo 3x weekly with lots of heat products) but recently and suddenly I'm noticing stringy hair, it's getting greasy fast, and when I wake up, the bed head is devastating...I cannot style my hair in any reasonable shape...it's stuck on one side of my head and I have to wear it up or something. Now I want to blame my horrible hair for this, but I'm not sure. I will keep using and see what happens. Hopefully I'm just having a greasy week! This seems like such an amazing product.
*UPDATE
I've been using this for months now and it's great. Really a good shampoo and I have no complaints. My stylist doesn't like me using this because it's Costco brand but I really can't afford $15 tiny bottles of shampoo.

*** edit *** the Silicones in this shampoo & conditioner has made my hair really gross. At first it worked good after a few months my hair was looking dull and not retaining moisture at all and eveb after deep conditioning. I actually clarified my hair once weekly and still ended with the same results (limp, dull, dry hair) I switched to an all organic shampoo with no silicones and my hair have had a 360 change. So it had to be this product. Check out Shea Moisture line can be purchased at your local target.
This shampoo and conditioner combo works great for my dry, fine but alot, long, dyed, bleached, and damaged hair. This shampoo is the only shampoo to ever leave my hair not stringy and straw like when done washing out, it actually feels moisturized! Conditioner is amazing as well love the scent! I can't believe how many times i've passed the isle @ Costco and had purchased dove instead. Thank goodness i decided to try it. Definitely give it a try I'm sure you won't regret it.

I am a BKT addict - and need a good sulfite free shampoo and conditioner. This is it. hands down. Beats Marcia Texeria , Keratin Perfect, and several other salon luxury ones I have used in the past. Especially the shampoo - a little goes a long way so who knows when I will use up this bottle!

I have used a diverse number of shampoos in the past (aveda, joico, macadamia, garnier fructis, tresemme, herbal essences, etc. a wide range of shampoos) but this is the best!
First of all, the packaging (although it is extremely big) is very convenient because of the pump. However, i found the pump to be a little hard to press at first (hence the 4 lippies instead of 5).
Secondly, the experience of using this in the shower was amazing. After reading some of the other reviews I didn't know what to expect because some people mentioned how the shampoo felt "different" but I know exactly what they're referring to. The shampoo lathers very well (despite it being sulfate free) and it produces more of a foam than bubbles. Also, it feels rather creamy instead of squeaky or watery. Also, I really love the smell. It is very sweet which I normally would hate but it has a floral scent to counteract the almost-candylike smell.
After I use this shampoo (and matching conditioner) my hair feels ridiculously silky and smooth. I have tried frizz-taming shampoos before but this controlled my frizz much better than any of those. I noticed less breakage in my hair over time.
Then there are the obvious reasons to give this a try.
a) it is sulfate free, paraben free, gluten free, 100% vegan...all that good stuff
b) for a liter (that's 33.8 fl. oz.) it only costs $9. That's crazy! Even my L'oreal everstrong sulfate-free ( a drugstore sulfate free shampoo) cost me 6 dollars for 1/5 of the product and it's not nearly as good.
c) If you don't like it for some odd reason Costco will gladly take it back and give you your money. No problem!

I wanted to love this because everyone said it compares to Pureology Nanoworks. I haven't actually tried Nanoworks, but I love other Pureology products (I've used the smoothing, hydrating, and volumizing lines!). This shampoo was so rich and moisturizing (obviously...) and it did make my hair feel healthy. BUT I noticed it made my hair oily a lot faster and it gave me a few of those large painful bumps on my scalp.
I'm using this (huuuuuuuge) bottle up as a shaving cream, and it's great for that purpose. My legs feel really soft afterwards! I love the pump bottle and I'll say that all in all, this was worth $8, but I'm going to stick with Pureology for my haircare.

When I first tried this shampoo and conditioner, I absolutely HATED it because it weighed down my long, fine hair. I realized later that I had used the same amount of conditioner that I would have used with my old, sulfate-laden shampoo, which is completely unnecessary with the sulfate-free stuff (because it doesn't strip it of its natural oils).
So, my advice to you fine-haired folk is to use however much shampoo you normally use then only a fraction of your usual amount of conditioner. I use about a nickel-sized glob for my hair and it's pretty long (and I only apply it to the ends). hope this helps! :o)
