This is probably the most beautiful red for lips that I've personally ever worn. I am very much a neutral/mauve/natural girl; so I rarely wear red unless I need to "jazz" up an all-black outfit. But this color, from the moment I tried it, works perfectly for me. I feel comfortable wearing it for any occasion. It's certainly striking but not in a clownish way. It has incredible lasting power - for me, it almost works like a stain. The shine is not a glassy shine, and the shimmer is not a disco glitter. Just a pretty, sophisticated varnish with lots of allure.

I purchased this from my CCO in January. Hated it at first but then something told me to test it again and I love it. Red lipsticks always make me look like a clown, lol. But not this one. It's got a slight warm undertone which is good for me being as though I am olive. Just the right amount of shine and highly pigmented. No need to wear this over a lipstick because it has so much color on it's own. I will be buying a back-up soon!

Eh. That's about the best I can say for this. It was okay, I guess. I bought it because the color truly is lovely, especially against my fair-medium, yellow-toned skin. The formula, however, left much to be desired, in my humble opinion. Meaning - it dried the heck out of my lips. I also found the brush a little difficult to use - I had trouble keeping the lipgloss from going outside the lines. I tend to LOVE MAC lip products but I would never buy this kind again.

I LOVE this gloss! It's a full color bright red on me (I have fairly colored lips anyways and ALWAYS wear reds) it doesn't feel sticky but isn't so runny that I have a whole lot of issues with it bleeding. It doesn't have the vanilla smell of other MAC glosses but that's ok because the color is awesome!

This is my first and only MAC lacquer lip gloss, but I do like it. It's a cherry red that looks great on top of my red lipsticks and even on MAC O lipstick.

This is the best gloss ever. Wonderful cherry red with a high plastic finish. Gorgeous to wear over red lipsticks. I absolutely adore this product, it didn't make my lips real sticky, and it wasn't heavy.

The MAC site says: "Shade description: Vivid intense bluish-red with red shimmer"

I say: well, this is my first MAC lacquer, and I was disappointed that it didn't have the lovely vanilla scent and taste that I've become so addicted to with MAC lip products - instead this smells/tastes kinda powdery/flowery. Once I'd got over that initial disappointment, I found this to be a useful lip product which I've worn quite a lot, either on it's own or over MAC lipsticks. It's a slightly transparent, sheeny cherry colour with a nice "plastic"-shine finish - more pink on me than the site description would suggest. It's nice over Ruby Woo lipstick, which it kinda matches, and curiously, absolutely GORGEOUS over Lady Danger - which is a VERY orange-toned matte red - the splash of sheeny pinkiness over that lipstick warms it up and tones the orange down a bit, and makes for a complex and unique combo.
Probably wouldn't buy this again, though - there are other red lipglosses out there that do the same job and aren't quite so expensive. It just wasn't "special" or "luxurious" enough to merit the purchase price at the end of the day.

This is an unbelievably gorgeous high-shine shimmery red with blue and pink undertones. Blotted down to a stain, it is the color of freshly bitten, cranberry-stained lips -- which is always what I look for. The intensity of the formula allows for long wear, and it has moisturizers so my lips won't dry out. Will definitely buy again.

To me, this is a light to medium red shimmer color that would go good, over a dark lipstick, if you wanted to tone down a dark color. I wanted to like it, but it's not dark enough for my tan skin. I wouldn't buy it again.

First off: this isn't a "true red" by any stretch of the imagination, so don't bother with this if that's what you're looking for. That being said, this is a completely beautiful deep blue-based metallic red that I think would look particularly excellent on people with extreme coloring (either very dark or very light). I'm a blue-white PPP myself and this is my Holy Grail high-glam lip look for all time. Like all Lacquers, this goes on thick and goopy and makes your lips look like wet vinyl. I have never had problems with the color bleeding, and I never bother using lipliner. It chews off after a while, as all high-gloss lip color will, but compared to others in its class, Lacquers have got some serious staying power. They are also, oddly enough, very moisturizing. My lips always feel awesome after wearing this.

I only wear this for competitions and shows. The red is really dark and shows up well on pictures making your teeth quite white. Although the quality of the gloss is extremely thick and hard to get off. Be careful, you should only aim at your lips (duh .. ?) because getting this anywhere else on your face and trying to wipe off is a hard task. Good luck.. this stuff is brutal

I brought in a picture of Marilyn Monroe to the MAC counter and asked the girl to duplicate the look. After some deliberation, she decided to use Brick lip liner topped with this lip gloss--the effect was perfect!

I do find this gloss to be quite thick; however this seems to prevent it from bleeding like a typical gloss. In fact, it bleeds only slightly more than my usual red combination of Brick liner with Ruby Woo lipstick. A dab of gloss added over the lipstick/liner combo also serves to add more depth (sometimes this lipstick is too matte.) I expect this gloss to last a fairly long time, and most likely will repurchase it when I run out.

This is o.k. if your skin tone is tan or darker...the problem with lacquers is that you have to use them with a liner...it goes very well with Vino. Red never crossed my mine but berry does. Not good for everyday. This in not for everybody.

On my eternal search for the perfect red lipstick I have found the perfect red lipgloss! M.A.C.'s lip laquer in Fanplastico is the perfect deep mettalic red (with a hint of berry) for my lips. The pigmentation is unfaltering, I found that there was little to no bleeding (used a lipliner), and the thickness never once bothered me, in fact, I found it to be beneficial to the staying power of the laquer. Unlike most people here, I loved the brush. It deposited the perfect amount of color and was easy to use with precision.
I've tried one other laquer in the color Metalize and the smell did turn chemical afer a few months. I'm hoping my new Fanplastico won't do that, but the color is so rich I may not mind if it does

This is one of the most horrid looking lip colors I have ever seen. If anyone thinks they look good in this they are dead wrong! Doesn't matter what your skintone is or how little it's applied, it's is not a lip color that should be worn by anyone and it never shoudl had been made to begin with. It's the brightest neon like cherry red w/ a bluish undertone more then an orange one which is in a true red. This is like applying straight pearly red nail polish to the lips and it's god awful! This is one of those colors that you'll see someone in and think what in the hell were they thinking when they put it on and they clearly haven't a clue how ridiculous they look. I even tried applies one dot in the middle of each lip and muting it w/ a soft pink color and all that did was create a bright bright disgusting fuschia. I cannot beleve MAC still sells this! People, get a clue and some taste while you're at it!

On my lips, this shows up as a true red, which I love. It lasted all through breakfast too. My only complaint about it is that it kept bleeding! (I didn't use lip liner before I applied it)

Not sure if I should review this, as I didn't buy it. Still it was part of my scary MAC makeover - I will never forget it.. I told the MA that I'd like any red, just "no pink-reds please", and was optimistic when she chose Fanplastico. It seemed a nice, rich red with shimmer, but once it sheered onto my lips, the crimson-fuschia reality became clear! Red with hot pink undertones, brings out any/all facial pink. oogly. It has good staying power (as I found while tissuing it off), but not the fire engine red I was hoping for.

First off, I have to say that I love this color. It's such a gorgeous red that looks great with my black hair and tan skin. That said, I have a few things I don't like. First off...the taste. Blech..it's such a weird plastic-popsicle taste. Also, it bleeds a lot. I use it with Prestige lip liner in Cranberry and it does the trick. However, if I try and put it over lipstick, namely Carnal and Rocker, it gets all gummy and slippery and icky. This gloss is really nice when you put a tiny amount on your bottom lip (like Natalie Portman in Star Wars) and smack your lips together and rub it in. It makes a beautiful sheer red which looks great with a clear loss over it. I don't like the applicator as it picks up too much product and doesn't allow for an even application. Use a lip brush and your problem is solved.I probably would buy it again if I couldn't find another similar color. The color is just so great that it overshadows the bad qualities.

This is a pretty shimmery metallic red- vibrant, but not a *true* red. The brush is a little flimsy, but the packaging is sleek and stylish. The scent, however, is horrible. The lacquer stays quite well if I line beforehand, but I find the texture a little too...greasy, or something. It slips off my lips.

Had it, swapped it away. I agree with everyone else, it was way too messy and sticky! The only lacquer I have is Glossette and I only keep it b/c of the unique color. I do not care for the texture at all. This seemed very similar to my Chanel Pulsar which both tend to turn a hot pinkish red on me. I do not consider this a true red one bit.
