I picked up 3 colours because they were on clearance for $11 in Canada. I got Amethyst Android, Locket Book & Glamorous Thief. The Urban Decay liners just don't do it for me at all. They smudge and disappear after two hours and Perversion, while it's very dark and pigmented, balls up at my outer corner really quickly which is unattractive. These wear very well on my oily eyelids and lower lashline. These are the best eyeliners I've come across so far. In my own rating system I would give them a solid 8 out of 10. And for the price, you can't beat it. But that does mean I can't pick up anymore :(

I'm so sad Sephora isn't carrying this line anymore. I've used UD's liners and I've used these, and they are comparable, but these are $5 less. In fact, I stocked up while they were on sale. For $9, they are a steal! I mostly use Tommy Jet (black) and the pinkish color whose name I'm forgetting. Both glide on easily as could be, never tug. They last pretty much all day (although the pink does not last as long as the black). The black is a perfect matte black color, that is very dark like I like it. The pink I often use for my inner crease or to line my bottom lash. The only problem with that is it tends to get on my lower lashes, and because the color is so light, it looks bizzare. But, I just put some mascara on my lower lashes if that happens and everything is well again.
The packaging is very pretty with the silver top and the price is fantastic for the quality. I recommend these liners (if you can still find them).

I LOVEEEEEEE this liner, and am so sad Sephora won't carry them anymore. I just bought 8 of them in one of the stores that still had them. Hopefully that will last me a while. I have it in all the neutrals.

I had raccoon eyes within an hr. even after priming with UDPP and e/s. I have watery eyes and wear contacts. This was not used on my waterline.
Pro: soft, creamy, true black, great for smudgy look
Cons: Not waterproof, too soft to draw a fine line

I've recently had problems with my eye makeup smudging beneath my eye (even though I don't use liner or mascara on the bottom of my eyes), and have been searching for a liner that stays in place. I prefer pencil liners, just because I'm lazy, and always in a rush in the morning. I had previously been using NARS (the self-sharpening one) in blue, and even though I was using the NARS primer, it still smudged. Going on MUA advice, I picked up Cute Robot at Sephora and LOVE it. Very pretty color - brighter than navy, but still dark enough to be neutral. And it really stays in place. I still get a smudge or two at the corner of my eyes, but it's much better than any other pencil liner I've tried.
As others have mentioned, this is extremely soft, and does need frequent sharpening, so it's not perfect. But I am very very pleased, and plan to buy more colours as I need them.

I have Sparkling Ammunition, which is a very dark green with gold shimmer. I love this eyeliner and will definitely get other colors later. The color is super intense with one stroke. Also, it is very smooth but not too soft. I am happy with the wear time. It usually stays on for about 6 hours on powdered lids, and minor smudge after that. If with eyeshadow, it's 8 - 10 hours. It's cheaper than Urban Decay's 24/7, which makes me feel nice when purchase. The only complaint is that I need to sharpen it after every one or two uses. I can live with that, since all those pencils with softer formulas need to be sharpened very often.

Thanks to the MUA reviews, I purchased in Tommy Jet. I must say, I agree with the other reviewers, I love it. The Sephora SA told me this was not long lasting and I should get Givenchy. I got both. Guess which one is headed back? :)

I really, really like my new eyeliner! I bought it in Locket Box, which is brown with gold flecks, and I think it's super cool! It goes on perfectly, the color is lovely, and the flecks are tiny enough to truly just enhance, not stand out like crazy! I feel that it's long lasting as well. Really pleased!!

NC25 Chinese, oily lids.
Testing testing testing.. TT vs UD pencils. TT lasts longer and does not budge for several hours over the UD Potion Primer. Unfortunately does not work for tightlining. I'm reserving 5 lippies if I ever meet a pencil that does not move from day to night. :)
Love the Ultraviolet! It is so dark purple, it is more like a soft black which I prefer. I had bounced all around Sephora and liked this deep, matte purple best out of all other purples I found.

I love this eyeliner. It goes on very smooth and stays put for the entire day. It sets pretty fast so smudging should be done right away. The only con I can think of is that because its soft it doesn't last as long as harder pencils. Also its very difficult to sharpen to a fine point. If anyone knows of a good sharpener for this pencil please let me know.

I was at Sephora looking for UD 24/7 liner in Electric and they were out. I was looking for a good dupe and I came across this liner in Kanzashi. I was surprised at how well it went on, and the color is amazing. I have no issues with the color coming through on any eyeshadow that I use. This hidden gem was a great find and I highly recommend it. The color range is smaller but they are all gorgeous. I may just have to pick up some other ones as soon as I can!

I can't believe I haven't reviewed my Tommy Jet eyeliner yet! It is my HG black liner pencil and I am a black eyeliner fiend. I have tried Gosh, Lise Watier, UD, Too Faced, MUFE, and some other brands I can't recall in my quest to find the darkest, longest lasting black eyeliner pencil. Tommy Jet is a true black colour, and is much darker than the aforementioned pencils except for the Too Faced one (but the TF one smudged on me), and is the longest-lasting of them all. I love Tarina's pencils because you can smudge them after you apply them but after they set they stay put! I really hope Sephora continues to carry this line.

I bought Rockstar Love the week TT released in Sephora and I absolutely love this liner! It doesn't smudge (and everything seems to smudge and slide on me, even with primer) and the bit of glitter is gorgeous. I need to find the right color for day because the glitter is a bit much for an office. This liner is worth the money

I bought this in Ultraviolet and it is a gorgeous plummy shade with a metallic sheen. I have been searching for a plummy purple liner and I finally found it! It's very creamy and doesn't pull/tug at the lids. The consistency is comparable to UD's 24/7 liners. Staying power of the two are pretty much the same on me - but they last all day! The closest UD shade would be 1999 or maybe Crash, just minus the glitter chunks. In my opinion there isn't an eyeliner shade quite like Ultraviolet that I have found. I love it!

I bought Cute Robot a while ago, and I was looking for a new white pencil for my waterline. Stila and UD were both sold out, so I picked up Crystal Gun.
I love them both. The material is soft, creamy but still firm enough to maintain decent control and goes on easily. The line stays in place all day, even on my waterline.
If you plan on using a brush to smudge the line, you want to do it quick because it sets pretty fast.
I am a contact lens wearer and I haven't experienced discomfort yet. Will definitely buy again.

This is the best eyeliner pencil (lasts long, doesn't smudge) I have found in my 30 years of wearing eyeliner. This has beat out Urban Decay's Eyeliner Pencil (please see my past review)
The SA was wearing a beautiful blue "Cute Robot" and I tried it but didn't think it had a chance to last as long as Urban Decay. Wrong - it lasted longer and stayed even more in place than Urban Decay Pencil! This pencil lasts and lasts. The pencil glides smoothly and right after I apply this pencil on the upper lid, I use an eyeliner brush to perfect the line (as the "soft" texture does set into place). The only complaint is that the pencil is a tad bit soft so it can wear down a little quickly.
Colors I bought:
- "Cute Robot" - most beautiful dark blue/slight violet tint with slight shimmer but still looks professional enough for day, makes brown eyes pop. The only other beautiful dark blue I have found is a C. Dior Powder Eyeshadow from the 1980's! I am stocking up on this pencil in case the company goes out of business!
- "Rockstar Love" - black w/ slight shimmer, I normally use black eyeliner but this black is a perfect "softer black" (not as harsh as black but still has the strong impact of black, grey liner looks too wimpy on me). Perfect black for day!
As I am Korean, Asian Eyes have a different shape (esp the upper lid which tends to be more "flat", with less of a hooded lid which encourages easy smudging).
Some tips to prevent smudging:
- I used a primer, Too Faced's "Shadow Insurance" which IMMEDIATELY worked (one eyeliner side didn't budge while the other side without the primer smudged a bit). I prefer Too Faced's over Urban Decay Primer Potion as UD's Primer makes my eye shadow cake.
- For a richer, "Sophia Loren", cat eye look (like liquid eyeliner), I put black or navy iridescent powder eyeshadow on top and seal it with Trish McEvoy's Finish Line.
Other brands and types of eyeliners I have tried (I am 43 and I have been wearing eyeliner (navy and black) since I was 14 years old):
- Urban Decay - was my tops until I tried the Tarantino pencil.
- Sephora's Waterproof Eyeliner - 3rd place compared to Tarantino (Urban Decay is 2nd place).
- Make Up Forever's Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil: pretty good but less rich color and doesn't last as long and smudges more than Tarantino and Urban Decay.
- EVERY pencil out there (Almay, C. Dior, Chanel, E. Arden, Maybelline, Revlon, Stila etc.). None of these compare to Tarantino and Urban Decay. When I was a teen and sometimes even now, I'd light the tip of the Maybelline brow pencil with a lighter to "lightly" melt the eyeliner, and then when it was ALMOST hard/cool, I'd draw on my upper line and it would "cool" and set perfectly and not budge (this technique does require some skill and a makeup artist taught me this).
- Bobbi Brown's Long Wear Gel Eyeliner: this is the longest lasting liner in a pot/cake eyeliner (more smudge proof and doesn't dry out like Stila's Smudge Pot). BB's deep blue "Cobalt Ink" is a GORGEOUS however Tarantino's "Cute Robot" (Deep Blue/Violet is even MORE gorgeous). Fun and glamorous to use, but I find this smudges more than the UD 24/7 Pencil or Tarantino Eye Pencil.
- Liquid liners (whether brush or pen style) simply do not work for me as when my eyes water, I have a horrible huge black smudge on my eye which unless I'm lucky enough to have a friend inform me, I have no idea I'm walking around with a partial black eye.

Twice now I've run into Sephora aiming to buy an UD 24/7 liner. I swatched a bunch on my hand, wandered over to the Tarina Tarantino liners and swatched some of those... the first time, I did go with an UD liner, but the second time I bought TT's in Crystal Gun. The clincher? As I walked out, both times, I wiped my hand down with makeup remover and the Tarantino liners hung around way longer! I really had to rub to get them off! So I bought Crystal Gun for my undereye as it's a nice sparkly white-- it really highlights the area, blends nicely at first, them dries down. I haven't experienced any smudging around the outer corner like I do with other liners. My cleansing oil takes off every trace of it, but I can see it being hard to remove with traditional eye makeup removers. Next time I need a new liner, I'm going to go with a Tarantino.

I have to admit that I've been around the block when it comes to eyeliner. I normally don't buy makeup until I do my research but while I was playing at sephora I came across this liner, which I'd never heard of but after messing with it I had to buy it. I have it in Tommy Jet (deepest black) The color is excellent and it glides on soooo smoothly. It's also waterproof. One thing that it doesn't have is a smudger on the end so I have to use one from another liner. I always smudge, and with this liner I can draw the line and lightly glide a smudger over it once or twice and it looks perfectly even, rather than having to pull or drag the skin and have it bare in certain spots and clumpy in others. I really like this one, it just needs a smudger.
