I relax my hair and generally tend to stretch out my relaxer for 3-4 months at a time. So I deal with two textures (relaxed and my natural textures which is a mix of 3b - 4a) I was experimenting with my regimen when my hair started to break and feel dry and crunchy. So I saw this product and purchased for $1.62. I shampooed my hair, added only half of the product from tip to roots, left in for 20 minutes and rinsed out. I then deep conditioned with a separate product and sat under a hooded dryer for 30 minutes. After regular styling, my hair is no longer crunchy/dry feeling and is not breaking from styling. This product contains protein so if after you rinse it out and your hair feels hard (which is a good thing - means your hair has been strengthened), you need to moisturize with a deep conditioner (so it won't break from lack of moisture). It smells great, is readily available, cheap, and effective. I highly recommend and will repurchase myself.

Okay, for $1.49, I can't complain toooo much...but this "deep conditioning" pack made my hair look terrible. I have very thick/coarse, curly, long hair. I applied the conditioner per package directions, waited 30 minutes, rinsed, and then let my hair air dry. A few hours later, my hair looked MORE frizzy, fuzzy, and just plain dry than when I use my regular conditioner!! Seriously. A coconut oil deep conditioner that made my hair look like I stuck my finger in an electrical outlet. What the heck.

i LOVE the smell of this, but unfortunately it doesn't do much for my hair. it leaves my hair silky, but that's about it. for the price, i'd rather buy a jar of another Palmers hair product, which will last me for ages compared to only twice.

I have mixed feelings on this deep conditioner. I didn't find it conditioned that deeply. It just kind of felt like some of my older more "siliconey" daily conditioners I used to use on a regular basis...Which is kind of nice on occasion as I do miss that super slick slip when I rinse out my daily conditioner as I (usually) avoid sulfates & silicones these days. I can say though, that the next day when I styled my hair, it appeared shinier and it did not get greasy at the end of the day, which I was happy about because sometimes with silicone based or heavy conditioners if I put them near my scalp, my fine hair is weighed down and gets stringy by the end of day 1. The other positive of this product is the smell. I did not really like the scent when I applied it in the shower...But the next day and the day after that, my hair smells FANTASTIC. Literally, I saw my sister that day and she repeatedly stuck her face in my hair and inhaled deeply because the scent I was originally unsure about had become a gorgeous coconutty scent that stuck very well. Yummy. The packaging sucks especially because I can get three uses out of one pack but have no way to close it up for future uses, but whatever. Overall this is not that impressive, not the best deep conditioner I've used. But I would repurchase sometime probably months down the road, for the softness and the scent, just as a fun cheap treat.

I hated this product. It's a lot like Bed Head's Resurrection conditioner. Both leave your hair pretty parched. Well at least mine that was severely damaged at the time from bleaching. I hate how this gives you quite a bit of product, if your like me with shortish hair, but the pouch has no way to close to save what is left over.

This product does smell incredible however it didn't really do anything for my hair.
When I first rinsed it and left the shower my hair did feel noticeably softer however when I straightened it the next day I felt pretty much no difference
I have rather thick hair so maybe I didn't put enough but I did leave it in for the suggested 20 minutes.

My hair is professionally relaxed and color-treated, and other than going to the hairdresser for those services, I'm on my own. By itself, my hair tends to be dry give the relaxer and color, so I use products that add moisture. I couldn't resist giving this product a try and I really wanted to like it. My routine entails using a super-moisturizing shampoo and quick conditioner, and typically follow-up with a deep conditioner, and I did that tonight using the Palmers Protein Pak for the deep conditioner. Well, this stuff left my hair a complete tangled mess that was extremely hard to comb out. Idk, maybe it was the protein(?). Anyway, thank God for Mizani D'tangle; I had to use quite a bit of it just to comb my hair out after rinsing this Palmers stuff out! All in all, my hair wasn't any softer nor better moisturized or conditioned after using the Palmers, had it been, my hair would not have been sooooo tangled after using it.
**********All in all, this Palmers Protein Pack gets TWO THUMBS DOWN... I'll stick to the two deep conditioners I currently have in rotation which reliably deliver far superior results for my hair: (1) Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner/Pak or (2) Creme of Nature Argan Oil Intense Conditioning Treatment.**********

This is the best deep conditioning product I've come across. After one application it has left my hair super soft, silky, and managable. Best part is, it's super cheap! I'm definitely buying more. I would recommend this treatment to anyone with any type of hair. You won't be disappointed.

Saw that it was cheap and was in an obsessive mood to try something coconut oil-related on my hair so I bought this and tried it. Good thing it's so damn cheap because it did nothing. I usually use really good expensive products on my hair so idk. Just not for me. My hair felt no extra softness or silkiness. Also the packaging SUCKS, and I am typically not one to bitch about packaging.

This is my go-to deep conditioner now that I have tight kinky-curly hair. My hair loves protein and coconut oil, and every time I use this on my hair, I end up with super soft, well-defined, frizz-free curls. It smells like coconuts, but it isn't overpowering. I have a complaint about the packaging; I believe this ought to be bottled, since I, and a few others I know, tend to buy this in bulk and squeeze all the packets into our own bottle. But, on the positive side, each packet is only about $1.50 USD and has enough product in it for two or three applications. I can't say enough about the positive effects this has on my hair. It's difficult to describe; curly hair can be so finicky. But I can say that so far, nearly every time I've used this conditioner before styling my hair, I've gotten complimented on my hair that day. For the price, and the fact that so many people have had success with this, I say it's worth a shot, even if you don't have curly hair. Coconut oil is supposed to have a beneficial effect on all hair, not just curly, in that it supposedly aids the hair in holding onto protein and providing a light, protective moisture barrier to the hair shaft. I've seen this sold at Target, CVS, and Wal-mart.

I have repurchased this product a few times now and I love it. I must say though as much as I love the formula, I feel like Palmers should bottle this up, it's so amazing. My hair is not too thin, not too thick and not too short or too long so it would just be a waste to use the entire packet of this. I can use it up to 4-5 washes depending how much I use, so it would be nice if this came in a little bottle rather then a little packet you have to tear open and cannot seal shut. I guess I could pour this into an empty container but it seems like you're paying a lot for a little product, it would be nice if they could at least package it in a convenient manner for the costumer. I suppose i can see the convenience in some ways, but I wish i could keep a bottle of this stuff in my shower!

I am half black and Japanese, curly hair with a mixture of both races. This is now my new favorite deep conditioner. I've been reading so much of how important it is to use deep conditioner so I finally decided to use this stuff. It really does what a deep conditioner is suppose to do. My hair is softer, more manageable, healthier, shinier, and smells good. However, I've also used different hair products such as the Brazilian Keratin Therapy Smoothing Treatment, so this might have helped a little. Overall I think EVERYONE should try this because a packet only costs about $1.50 and lasts about 5 or 6 washes (for me at least). One girl told me I smelt like coconut (not a bad thing) and another two girls complimented me on how nice my hair looked.

I really like this conditioner. My hair is pretty healthy overall, but my ends are kinds of dry right now. I was afraid this would be too heavy, but I was pleasantly surprised. My hair is pretty fine, and I used this all over and left on for the recommended time and it rinsed clean and didn't feel heavy at all. It left my hair very soft and shiny as well. I'm not a fan of the packaging, but I just bought a couple packets and emptied them into a plastic travel squeeze bottle.

I love this! I workout outside and it takes a toll on my locs. I have locs and this is excellent for a deep condition. I didn't use a lot in the pack probably not even half. This is great for once or twice a month. My locs were soft and it restored moisture to my locs making them soft. I don't like that it's in a packet making it hard to re-close!!

Long, oily roots, dry ends, bleached hair type. This stuff is fantastic. I was really worried about my hair being greasy, or weighed down because I have never used coconut oil or milk products, and my hair is on the normal to fine side. The texture was really thick but runny in the package, so I was expecting a lot of moisture but with coating. When I rinsed every bit of the conditioner came out, and my hair felt so clean. It had enough slip to detangle my hair, and I only used 1/3 of the pack for my long hair. When I rinsed I could tell it was not like a normal deep conditioner, because my hair didnt feel silky after I rinsed the product out, but when I went to detangle the brush just slid through my hair, and I didnt have to use my detangling spray. My hair was moisturized, and my ends were tame, but not at the expense of being heavily weighed down. Another thing I love is the way the scent works. Im not a huge coconut fan, and this luckily doesnt smell like suntan oil, it smells like pure coconut. When you rinse and dry, it has more of a lighter sweet scent, that sort of smells like a cookie but is not overwhelmingly strong or easily identified as coconut. My hair still has tons of volume, my layers are not flat, you can easily see them, and my hair is not flat to my head like with most deep conditioners when I use them from root to tip. I am really surprised, I thought this product would be more for ethnic or overly curly hair, but my straight finer hair is completely soft & nourished but has volume. I had no idea coconut oil products could be so light. Dont let the name scare you, def try this product. It was under $2 at walmart , the single trial size pack should give you 2-3 uses. I cant comment on its protein effects, as that would take several uses, but my hair looks & feels great. The scent is not overwhelming. Great buy!
