I like the cloth that it came with...I will use it until I run out but won't repurchase. I have oily skin and like my face to feel squeaky clean after I wash (but not tight). This made my skin feel too soft...almost a coated/waxy feeling.

This is really great. I love balm/oil cleansers and have tried all the major ones. Recently I picked this up in boots for €14 because I couldn't yet afford the Emma Hardie cleansing balm and was surprised by how gentle and effective it was. It also comes with an included muslin cloth which i think is a nice touch although i still prefer to use a flannel. I'm on to my second tube of this and I will continue to repurchase.

I think this could be my new favourite cleanser. And from 'Soap and Glory' - a brand that I dismissed as merely a fun bath/shower range, and never a 'serious' skincare contender!!!!
I love hot cloth cleansers for p.m. cleansing, and my two favourites (that I've had on rotation now for the past few years) are Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and Elemis Pro-Radiance.
I tried this version out of mild curiosity when there was a 3-for-2 on at Boots (along with the Sanctuary hot cloth cleanser - which was ineffective at deep cleansing and actually clogged my pores).
It has a remarkably similar ingredients list to that of the Liz Earle version - little more difference other than a higher glycerin content, a different blend of essential oils and the addition of a paraben.
Nevertheless, Soap and Glory has always struck me as a style over substance brand, so I didn't have high hopes.
However, I was soon converted! I found the product left my skin super clean but supple. It even looked and felt slightly firmed and toned. I was a bit afraid that the essential oils would sting my eyes (as warned of on the packaging), but it was nothing a little splash of water didn't fix. It removed full makeup and, by leaving it on for 2 minutes, I felt like my face was undergoing a treatment, too. The cloth is quite abrasive when compared with my usual soft Liz Earle muslins, but it did the job without irritation (unlike the Sanctuary cloth, which merely smeared the product and my makeup over my face). All in all, a wonderful find and I've already repurchased.
Pros: thick paste texture (which is comfortable and non-sticky, and doesn't run); multiple purpose (makeup remover, deep-cleanser, exfoliator when used with the muslin cloth, and treatment mask); quality ingredients, including essential oils that give it a lovely smell; reasonable price (especially when on offer at Boots)
Cons: I suppose the essential oils might sting some eyes (though I'm a contact lens wearer and have suffered no issues); muslin cloth is more abrasive than some (though it softens up after a few washes in the washing machine); obviously won't suit everyone. I'd recommend it to normal/combination/oily skins - the essential oils might make it a bit much for sensitive types; would be easier to use if it had a pump like the Liz Earle and Elemis versions.

I am on my second bottle of this now. It's one of those products I wanted to buy again as soon as I'd run out. It's easily the best cleanser I have used, but I don't usually use it as a cleanser, I use it as more of a face mask a few times a week. I prefer cleansers to be a wash where as this is a cream and I don't like creams for removing make up, they get my eyes all sticky. I leave the cleanser on for a few mins and ta da hello much better looking face! Dont really know how it does it but skin looks much smoother, more even and looks like you have had a lot of beauty sleep! The cloth is nice although I think it is a bit unhygienic unless you wash it every time you use it. Otherwise it will just sit there soggy! Ew

This cleanser is the best cleanser I have ever used. It made my skin look amazing! My pores look smaller too. I literally received this today and used it for the first time a few hours ago, and I see no signs of a bad reaction (hopefully). I hope this continues to work for me, as its the only cleanser that's been gentle on my skin and has actually made a difference. Any other cleanser I have used (clean&clear mainly) has been rather damaging to my skin and upsets my skin. Oh by the way, I LOVE the smell, reminds me of my childhood.
I have tricky sensitive combination skin, so there may be a chance of a different reaction over the next few days or weeks, possibly negative or MAYBE dramatically positive! I will definitely update this review if it gives me any trouble. If you're looking to buy it, good luck!
UPDATE: This has not affected my skin negatively in any way, and I have very sensitive skin. It has continued to work for me :) you should buy it

Okay guys, if you struggle with slightly oilier skin (like myself) or just generally have quite a few spots (like I did) then you will know that it makes you feel terrible and are constantly trying to figure out ways to hide them from people. After trying pretty much everything from slightly cheaper companies such as Freederm, Clean and Clear, Clearsel, Simple etc (in which none of them worked) I decided to spend a little bit more money and get a better one. I purchased this product and was actually really excited to try it! All I can say is that it changed my confidence levels and quite literally made me a happier person. Within around two washes my skin was clear! It took such as huge relief of my chest. It's actually helped me so much. I know it may seem expensive but, omg, is it worth it?! YES! Please go buy it and TRUST ME you will not be let down. It has next to no scent (which is always good for sensitive skin) and is lovely to apply. I simply filled my sink with clean warm water, applied the mask kept it on for around two minutes and rinsed with warm water and a flannel. My skin has never felt so good. I finished a full size one very quickly and it is still easily my fave. AMAZING.

I am a fan of hot cloth cleansers and have used a fair few brands. My HG favorite is Liz Earle's but sometimes I just like to change it up a bit.
This is very good indeed and does exactly what it says - not quite as naturally derived ingredients but if that isn't important to you then it doesn't matter. I love the scent which has a floral Lavender scent and I do prefer it over the Eucalyptus of LE's. This hasn't caused any problems with my sensitive skin and doesn't dry it out either. I remove eye makeup before using this so cannot attest to mascara removal but it works well on facial makeup. Price is good too, I think I paid about £10.00 in Boots and there are often 3 for 2 offers on.
The only downside is the muslin cloth which is a little inferior to some other brands but does soften up after a few washes. Just on that note - when you do chuck them in the wash DO NOT use fabric conditioner as it will stick to it and you don't really want that on your facial skin next time you use it. It also makes the cloths too soft.
I would re-purchase this again but its taking me ages to use up my tube up :)

I've been using this for a few days now and I'm really impressed! It's quite similar to my Liz Earle if not better. I love the smell and my skin feels amazing. I found this at a time when my skin was at it's worst. I've been suffering from breakouts on my cheeks, forehead and jawline and this has definitely calmed them down a lot. Thankyou S&G for this amazing product!

I bought this as a replacement for my Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser. I have been using Liz Earle for a few years now and thought I couldn't live without it, but living in the middle of damn no where I can only buy it online and I'm too unorganised to order a new one before it's actually run out and then I always seem to miss the damn delivery. Anyway, I'd read a few reviews for the soap and glory one and thought I'd give it a bash, and was hoping i'd love it as it's a few quid cheaper than Liz Earle and theres always some 3 for 2 dealy on the go in boots which is a plus.
I'm actually really impressed! So impressed that I haven't even thought about going on the liz earle site to make an order! I don't know whether it is AS good as Liz Earle or not, i mean... actually it probably is, I have just become very set in my ways over the past few years and the weird-ass rosemary scent of liz earle has become like a very comforting old friend to me in my sad little life. But it seems to do the job at least. The lavender scent of this one is quite nice in my opinion, and I say that as someone who usually hates lavender scented products. It takes all of my makeup off (although I am wearing less and less makeup at the moment as its summer) and doesn't dry out my weird dry face which is good. I'll probably go buy this one again when it runs out, instead of repurchasing liz earle which i am quite shocked to say but hey ho the economy is shit and times are hard. The packaging is pretty cute too, I'd prefer it if it had a different lid, like.. one you can just snap open and close instead of having to screw it off and on although I'm not really sure why when I actually think about my reasons. I DONT NEED REASONS OK?! Anyway yeah this is a good product and I like that it comes with a cloth.

I have dry-normal combination skin. I wanted something that would help me to remove my dry winter patches and also remove my makeup.
I do NOT recommend this product to anyone. It claims to "melt away makeup". It comes in a tube of cream, when you rub it together in your hand, it dissolves a little bit into a more milky texture. The cream leaves a "film of makeup" all over my face. And I HATE that feeling! My face hasn't improved a bit after using this. I just use the cloth sometimes after I cleansed my skin with other stuff I try to use up. I don't like the strong lavender smell either, It smells like old lady. I'll stick to brands who are experts on just doing skincare rather than a mix of body, makeup and skincare etc.

I LOVE this cleanser!! Have been using for about a month now and my skin has definitely improved. It isn't an overnight magic trick but I think gradually, with regular use, this product definitely improves overall complexion & I've had no problems with breakouts since using this. I don't really use it as a makeup remover so can't comment on that, will use a facewipe or two first particularly for eye makeup and then use this last thing before bed. It smells lovely when applying. I soak the cloth in boiling water from the kettle with a dash of cold so it doesn't burn and then clean off - gives you a great fresh feeling and doesn't leave skin feeling tight after, just smooth and soft. The packaging is nice too and I love that it comes with a muslim cloth included. Great product for the price, especially if you get it in the 3 for 2 in Boots!

I have combination skin at its worst (super dry cheeks, super oily t-zone with raging blackheads). Used to only find that L'Occitane's Red Rice cleanser took care of the oil with Almond Apple Velvet Concentrate for the dryness on the rest of my face. However, I've had a recent psoriasis outbreak over my nose, which the Red Rice cleanser left horribly dry and raw.
Enter Fab Pore Hot Cloth Cleanser. I picked it up based on good reviews, have used it for around 2 weeks now, twice a day. It's unbelievable - my blackheads are almost invisible, and sometimes I don't even need to moisturise my cheeks for the day - can just put primer straight on top. How did this product escape my knowledge for so long? I couldn't recommend it more. Hint: do use a good amount, it'll work better than being stingy.

I have to say this is one of my new HG products, and I only have about 2 or 3 which I consider to be 'HG' as I am hard to impress and I rarely ever re-purchase a product unless I think its fantastic. This is one of those products, its such a great way to cleanse and feels amazing. I use this as my night time cleanser, after removing the majority of my make-up and eye make-up with face wipes. This claims to 'melt away make-up' but I always remove my make-up before cleansing, doesn't make sense to cleanse with a full face of slap.
I rub a fair amount of this into my face concentrating on my forehead, nose and chin and massage it in for atleast 30 seconds and then I leave it for a minute or 2 then soak a muslin cloth in very hot water and ring it out then lay it over my face before wiping the cleanser off. Usually there's a tiny bit of make-up on the cloth from where I haven't got it all off with my wipes. Skin feels so soft after using this that I don't need to moisturise at night, I just use this, then apply S&G Dr Spot on the couple of spots I get and thats it. My skin in general has become clearer since using s&g products, I love them!
I have a back-up tube of this because I love it so much!

Bought this when I ran out of my usual BB cleansing oil - and very pleasantly surprised by it. Has a similarity in smell to BB as both smell of lavender - which may evoke "old lady" associations with some.
I take my eye make up off separatly, then use this for the rest of my face, let it sit while I do my teeth and take it off with a hot wash cloth.
So far I've never been left with make up on my face (there's barely any on the cloth even).
I alternate this with either the Fab Pore mask or the No Clogs Allowed self-heating scrub (which I use when I shower) - my skin has never looked better.
The essential oils could possibly cause problems in folk with very sensitive skin - saying that I have an inclination towards eczema and I've been absolutely fine with this.
Will repurchase until they stop making it.

I read quite a lot of reviews of hot cloth cleansers and decided this seemed to be the best value for money one in my budget! I used it for a week and saw no improvement, and ended up having to take my eye make up off with an additional cloth - I used it exactly as described, even left it on for longer for one or two days, but it didn't remove every smudge of make up at all!
But worst of all - the smell. I don't know if my product is an especially bad whiffing one, but I can't abide by the smell, it's so overpowering and when it's on your face you really can't avoid it! Between the smell and the lack of effectiveness, I've given this away to a friend - who also hates the smell!! It's a very strong lavender, which I like in light smells but this is very heady.
The cloth is good though - I've been using that with Cetaphil :-)

I'm going through a bit of a Soap and Glory phase, and having been disappointed by the Liz Earle Hot Cloth cleanser, thought I'd try this one. I was so excited at first, it seemed to leave my skin so soft and I saw definite improvement in my pores. And then I broke out. Horrifically. After about two weeks. It was awful, this product is just no good for even slightly sensitive skin. I'm still dealing with the scarring from the breakout now, weeks later.

HG!!!
I have always hated cleansing. I tried so many wash-off cleansers thinking that was the way to clean skin, but ended up with nothing but stinging eyes, lingering mascara, tight skin, and water all over the bathroom.
Anywhooo... I love the soap & glory range but have never tried this. I was looking for something to replace my unemployment-induced buy of garnier soft essentials range that gave me a red, bumpy, itchy face. The 3 for 2 in boots coincided with my first payday at my new job so after reading rave reviews on here about various soap & glory products, I set off for boots, debit card in hand (always dangerous!).
I have been using this for 2 days and my cheap, crappy product, itchy skin issue has gone! My skin is perfect again :D The cleanser is easy to apply to damp skin and gets rid of all my makeup (I usually use quite lightweight makeup, so like other reviewers have said, you may want to use a separate product first depending on your preferences). It smells beautiful. It doesn't sting my eyes. It leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, plumped out even! I massage the cleanser in well so that gives my skin a beautiful glow. I have no idea how, but it was still like that when I woke up the next morning, and continues to look that way now. I'm thrilled! I boil the kettle, and pour the water in a little dish with a bit of cold water so it's not scorching to soak the cloth in. Massage the cleanser in (big bonus - you don't need much, I think this will last well), leave it on for a minute (perfect time for teeth cleaning) then take the hot cloth, squeeze the water out, then put it on so it's covering my entire face. If it's hot enough, it feels like the open-pore feeling you get from a sauna. Beautiful. Then I scrub off the cleanser, which is a great exfoliant, then wash off any residue with cold water to close my pores. I follow with make yourself youthful serum and catch a wrinkle cream, which are both awesome, I'll review those when I've been using them a bit longer. Thank god for boots 3 for 2, these products are amazing! I can't see myself ever using another cleanser, except maybe one of those 2 toned blue eye makeup removers I like so much (lancome bi-facils I think? Boots no 7 do a similar one) as I'm partial to the smoky eyes look quite often and may need the separate product for that... Otherwise, £25 for 3 products that make me look and feel like I've just had a facial twice a day? More than worth the money! Highly, highly recommended :)

I discovered this cleanser about a year ago as I have dry/sensitive skin which does break out easily if I don't look after it and I was advised to stop using any foaming cleansers on my face. Having been impressed with other Soap & Glory products, I purchased this and I was very impressed... However, last Christmas I was given a Liz Earle set and I haven't looked back! So unfortunately, whilst this is a decent cleanser, it really isn't as good as Liz Earle, in my opinion. However, I do always keep a tube of this to hand because Liz Earle isn't available on the high street and I do sometimes run out before I've ordered from her website, so this is a fab cleanser to keep as a back-up because it's still a million times better than any other cleanser available on the high street! Also, I'm not sure if they've changed the packaging recently, but mine has a screw-top lid which is very annoying! Hopefully they have now changed it to a flip-top lid as it can be difficult to use with wet hands in the shower! Overall, a decent cleanser and if your budget really can't stretch to Liz Earle (it's about twice the price, plus P&P) then I would highly recommend it as an excellent alternative.

Hot cloth cleansing - try it it is far superior to anything else providing thorough cleaning with gentle exfoliation all in one. This hot cloth cleanser is exellent. It gives Liz Earle a run for her money.I think it is equally as good. I find it gentle enough to remove eye make up too.
The muslin cloth provided is adequate for a few uses but must be washed thoroughly between use. If you use fabric conditioner then it will reduce the efficacy of the cloth. I would recommend purchasing a LOT of cloths, separating them from the main washing and wash all the cloths together at high temperature. This will reduce to absolute minimum the risk of bacterial transferrence.
I will pass on a tip. I use microfibre cloths which are meant to be used for cleaning your home. I bought them in bulk from a supermarket at a fraction of the price of muslin cloths and they work soooo well.
I have purchased a so called dermabrasion cloth in the past only to find that the fibres were identical to microfibre cleaning cloths.

I had to purchase Soap and Glory from the UK as i cant find it in Australia. However it was well worth the search. This is a fantastic product which left my skin feeling and looking great. I have had a couple of break outs but i figure it is just bringing out all the gunk from in my pores. Very happy overall.
