I can't believe Lush is discontinuing this product! I was given a free sample of it not so long ago, but how mean of Lush to make me fall in love with an ending product! I am really not into self tan, it's too much hassle and can smell nasty but this is so easy as I put lotion on everyday anyway so I just swapped my regular lotion with this and I've got a healthy glow to my usually albino-like skin and my skin is allot softer than when I use any other lotion. The violet and banana fragrance smells lovely and exotic and it really does look perfectly natural on my skin. Really cannot praise this enough, my only criticism is the fact that Lush is taking it off the shelves!

I love this product. No it does not streak and yes it does dry fast. It's fabulous, does not stink. It's such a natural tanned colour. I don't understand the bad reviews :S This product is fabulous. Makes your skin feel soooooooo soft too! I can't stop touching myself! Definitely recommend this. For reference I am fair skin, Chinese.

I love this product!!!! I got the small bottle at first to see if I liked it, and I will definitely be going back to get the larger one soon.
I like to put this lotion on my face and body as soon as I get out of the shower. It gives me such an amazing glow under my foundation. It smells great also!

I don't understand a lot of these reviews.
This product does not streak, I'm actually not even sure it can streak. You apply it like a lotion and it the consistency of a liquidy lotion. If you have applied self tanner even once in your streaking won't be a problem for you. I would not deign to use this on my face, I use bronzers specifically made for the face for that.
Also, it does smell like bananas but that isn't a secret, it's in the description. However, the smell fades quickly. Again, if you have ever used self tanners you know how much they can reek; this doesn't have any such odor. It's not a self tanner, after all. As for the patchouli complaint.... there's no patchouli in this product so I'm not sure how it could smell like it.
A for it's tint ability... It is slight but it's also build able, just let it dry and apply another coat. It also dries fairly quickly. The color is a little more chocolatey than you might be used to if you use self tanners or body bronzers that tend more towards golden. I like the color, it's almost like you just have a naturally darker skin tone than you really do.
It's almost a slightly pink shade.
Now, all of that said, I am Italian and have olive skin tones. I'm not entirely sure this would be appropriate for an extremely fair skinned person although the sale woman at the store was a red head and she was wearing it and it looked fine.
So, to summarize my ramblings: is it like am airbrush tan? No. Its not even a mystic tan. But it will turn you 1-2 shades darker. If you hate the smell of bananas it might not be for you but honestly it really isn't all that fragrant once it dries. It does not streak or transfer to clothes.

This is my favorite self-tanner! I hate gradual tanners where you feel like you have to stay on top of an application regime otherwise the product will go streaky. Since this is a washable formula, I don't have to worry about keeping up with a regime, and I have instant color. I haven't had any problems with this product streaking, but even if it did you could easily wash it off. The scent of this product is amazing - much better than the average self tanner. I will definitely repurchase this when I run out!

This product is OK. It gives a natural-looking tint to the skin but it smells absolutely terrible to me --like rotting fruit. I like that you can wash it off daily but I just can't stand the smell. I also used it on my face and it made me break out :( so for the ladies and gents out there with sensitive skin, please keep it off your face! Looks good on my chest/legs/arms until I start sweating, then it gets streaky. Don't wear it if you plan on perspiring haha. I love lush products but my gawsh do some of them smell nasty!

I bought this product because I liked the cocoa-banana scent, what I didn't know at the the time was that smell quickly fades away and leaves you smelling like patchouli!!!! I did NOT sign up to walk around smelling like a hippy. What a waste.

Pros: Suprisingly good color. I think it 'tints' your skin the color of a true tan. Little to no shimmer (if you like less this may be for you) Goes on sheer. Not greasy. Reasonably priced. All natural ingredients except for parabens :/
Now for the big Con: smells like an herbal infused rotting banana peel! I was kind of hoping it would smell more like lemon like it claims it does. I do happen to have a very sensitive nose and this may smell more powerful to me than it would to others. Unfortunetly, though, the smell does not go away quickly. It does fade into something less obnoxious than rotting banana..dies down to kind of a cocoabutter scent. Smell is pretty huge to me because i don't like anything that conflicts with my perfume. I almost feel like writing them to tell them they should change the scent because it is a good product.

I like this in theory but it just isn't for me. The idea of giving your arms or legs a little bronzy gloss is nice but the colour didn't show on me. I'd say i'm NC25 on my body and this dissapeared right into my skin. Shame as I think the colour looked promising and the smell is really really nice.
I also think it's a pain the way Lush only lasts a year. Yes it's all fresh but that's a lot to use up in a year!

I really like this product. I hate bananas with a passion, so I was hesitant to buy this. Luckly, after it has applied, I can't smell it at all. It gives me a subtle bronze glow, and because my skin does not tan easily, this was such a good find. It also evens the color of my skin out.

well .. i bought this, to be frank, because it smelled awesome.
im very pale.... ghostly in fact, and i do not tan. its just not possible. so a self tanner that isnt orange made me very excited. the fact that it was LUSH made me even happier.
i cleansed and exfoliated before hand.. put it on... and yeah... all bad news. the product actually sloughed off in little grains... almost like when you use a hand sanitizer on really dirty hands and little beads of dirt come off LOL
it was ... not pleasant. the scent changed to a really unpleasant sour wine mixed with rotten bananas smell and my roomates actually turned up their nose.
now because i have a funny body chemistry with scents.. and i know this.. i forced the product on my house mates and the same thing happened with them. the product sloughed off in a weird manner... like rolling lint... and left an unpleasant version or the original scent in the bottle.
too bad really... lovely color....
hope its just my bad luck!

I'm really pale and this works so well for me. I use it on both my body and my face. No more faffing about with fake tan - yaaaay!

I hate this product! I love bronzers and have tried many of them. My two favorites are Clinique Non-Streak Bronzer which is marketed for men, but works beautifully for women. I am also a huge fan of the discontinued MAC Sun Dressing. I was so excited to try this new LUSH bronzer. I have tried it three times on my arms and chest and each time I had to get right back into the shower to scrub it off. It comes out a streaky disaster on me. I don't see how you lades are blending it. Maybe it is because I am so fair skinned, but I have never had a problem with any bronzer in the past.

This stuff is great. A good wash-off body bronzer is so hard to find and it is such a thrill to find one that is of superb quality and all natural to boot! The color is rich and natural lookin on my NC20-25 skin. There is no noticeable shimmer. The smell is earthy but this won't bother anyone who is familiar with the fact that lush does not use synthetic fragrance to cover up harsh chemical smells because they don't use chemicals. The smell is redolent of chocolate and patchouli with a subtle banana whiff. I can't tolerate patchouli and I still find the smell pleasant. A little goes a long way and I reccomended spreading it on shower damp skin or post-moisturizer to avoid streaks. I expected this product to feel heavy and a little greasy like Lush's other lotions, but it is very very light. I wore it out to a riverfront tiki bar last night (hot and crazy humid) and it did not sweat off. I have been using a tad on my cheeks as well and so far no breakouts. I highly reccomended this product and commend Lush on a great success! Check out the new color supplement while you're at it, it's wonderful too!

I have been looking for a good wash-off bronzer for my legs for literally years. I've tried a lot of products and hated them all. They were streaky and either invisible or ludicrously dark. Eventually I tried Charlotte Island because I'm an old Lush fan.
This. Is. Awesome. No streaks. Seriously. I don't bother with fake tan any more because I can't manage a streak-free application, but this was easy. The colour looks natural, with a hint of pink to it. Warning: if you UNDER-apply, you will end up with just a red tint. Well, I did, but then my legs are crazy pale and very yellow-toned so YMMV. But applied more generously I have a natural, believable tan and even, glowing skin. The scent is OK but not great, and your skin is left slightly sticky, same as if you'd just moisturised.
There's no shimmer here and as usual for Lush you have a choice of bottle sizes.
To get the best possible result, follow the same principles as you would with a self-tanner:
moisturise as much as you can the night before.
exfoliate.
moisturise lightly.
leave as long as possible between getting out of the shower + moisturising and application, because the moisturiser and the heat from the shower and any remaining dampness will all stop you gettng an even result.
apply the product, using your palms rather than your fingers so you're applying it evenly.
check for any bits you haven't rubbed in!
And leave the house looking all glowy ansd goddess-like.

I love this product!
Ive bought the small bottle (and I would prefer a jar) and Ive been using this for the last couple of weeks.
The colour suits beautifully (Im a nc20) and blends in really well. Ive used it on my arms and neck and Ive also used it on my face as a bronzer (added some moisterizer as the product is a bit thick and used a moisterizer with SPF first).
I used a Lancaster fluid bronzer years ago (the brush thing) and I think this product comes close to Charlotte Island.
Im def. gonne buy this again. It has all the pro's of the self tan but not the no's.
Only downside: I would prefer a jar.

i liked the idea of this product but it sucks! with has full on pink undertones and can make you look almost sunburnt! it does blend in easily though but it comes off on your clothes. I seriously hate it and don't recomend it!

I LOVE this. I am super pale - NC10 and I can pull this off!
I hate self-tanners and I don't go tanning (even though I love it) because I am afraid of skin cancer..so this is perfect!!!
It helps my crazy white skin get some color without any chemicals or sun damage. I mix it with my regular moisturizer and it adds a nice sun kissed effect. If I put on a bit too much it kind of looks like I got a sun burn. Surprisingly natural looking though!
The best part is that it smells like chocolate. mmm. so so good!
I really can't rave enough about it. Awesome product, highly recommend.

I only review products I like. I have to explain this product to properly review it. When I bought it I was expecting a bronze gel type product like L'Oreal Sublime Bronze One Day Tinted Gel or perhaps something like Bonnebelle Gel Bronzer. It is really more like a tinted moisturizer really unlike any product I have tried before.
Pros: Great ingredients (other than parabens, you be the judge on whether you will use products containing them or not).
Nice neutral smell.
Warm color that seems to even skin tone and cover some flaws without looking like anything has been applied at all.
Great moisture without being greasy and no annoying shimmer. Just a warm milk chocolate pudding color.
No animal testing.
Very reasonable cost, especially considering all of the high quality ingredients.
Worked great on my face, made me look healthier but not fake. Did not shimmer or shine, just made me glow.
Cons:
Very subtle color. Hardly a bronzer, more like a skin tone evening body lotion.,
The L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Tinted Gel works much better at making my arms and legs look tan. The Bonnebell Gel Bronze is great at making my face look naturally tan.
But.... when I used this after sunscreen and then applied the Bonnebell Gel Bronze in Coppered Bronze I got so many compliments on my skin. Several people told me how well rested I looked etc.
I also have been using the Lush Saving Face Solid Serum after washing with Olivella Soap during the day. At night I have been using Alpha Hydrox 10 percent along with CeraVe PM and Lush Full of Grace Solid Serum. This combo has resulted in more compliments than I have received in a long time.
Bottom line. This is a great, warm toned tinted moisturizer, reasonably priced and full of fantastic ingredients. I love it.

Lowered the rating. I couldn't get over the dirt smell and I never used it. and then had to throw it out.
Smells like dirt and grass maybe? But makes your skin look very even and no streaks. Dries very fast as well. I really like it, besides the smell but it fades quickly.
