I have long, straight, lightened hair so all the damage really shows. I realised about a year ago that silicone products were making matters worse so since than have been trying other measures to sort ot my dry, frizzy, staticky hair. For about two months I slept every night with oils on my hair - I tried coconut, olive, rosehip, lavender, argan, pomegranate, passion seed, macadamia etc in all sorts of combinations as well as various purchsed blends without any benefit.

I've used Karastase Chronologiste six times now and the results are better than any product I've used before. I know this has silicones in it, but the benefits persist even several weeks after a treatment, and accumulate with continued use, so I can't think that's the main reason for the change in my hair. It's now soft, shiny and non-frizzy, and much easier to style. The product is extortionately expensive (hence the loss of one lippie) but I have already bought a second box.

Several reviews have mentioned the very strong scent. I hadn't noticed this myself, but when I paid enough attention to give it a sniff I had to agree, it's quite potent! May be a deal-breaker for some but I'm obviously not too sensitive to that feature.

EDIT: The pump that dispenses the grey pearls gave up the ghost completely when I had a third of the product still left. So I unscrewed the top to add the pearls by hand, but that failed to break up the pearls and release the contents, so they sat intact in the cream, only to scatter all over my shower when I tried to massage it through my hair. Much less benefit to my hair. I emailed Kerastase about it and they didn't reply. Shoddy product design and customer care for such an extortionate product. I am now using Philip Kingsley's Elasticizer with excellent results and at a much lower price. Will not repurchase Chronologiste.

I have colored, fine and very curly hair and I have always straightened it, so, obviously, it became REALLY damaged. Even though I used only expensive products (most of them from Kerastase and Redken) nothing worked.
When I first used this mask, i thought it was a miracle. But a few hours later, my hair would look extremely dry again. I was using this mask every week, doing the complete ritual that it demands for about two months, but my hair got even worst!!!!!!
So, I went to a hair dresser that CHANGED MY LIFE.
He said that products from Kerastase have a lot of silicones, so they just cover the damage,so dont treat the hair at all. He recomemded me a mask from Lazartigue (bancoulier), and after using about 4 times my hair changed!!!!!
Since then, I have only used more natural products, both from Lazartigue and from Leonor Greyl, and I should say that is much better! My hair really changed.
DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS MASK. It will only cover the damage.

I don't really have problematic hair. It's a little dry, no split ends, not too frizzy, down to my waist, thick. I like products that nourish my hair, and make it smooth, soft, and shiny.
I needed a mask, and my mom had bought this, so without her knowing, I took a little for myself every 2 weeks. ;)
From the first time I washed my hair I noticed a great difference. My thick hair was softer and more manageable. It became healthier and shinier and much easier to style. My hair looks like I've just had it professionally done. It lasts too. I absolutely adore this product.
The only downside is the price. Just so you know, I'm 16. I cannot afford to replace this all the time. And another thing? Try l'oreal evercreme mask. Same results. Almost $140 less. Yes this is amazing. But no hair mask is worth this amount of money, especially when it's the same as a $7 drugstore mask.

This is the first reviewI have ever written, although I like to read them. Time to give back. I am a total product junkie when it comes to hair and skin. Tried and used all of the most expensive brands. For hair I most often use Kerastase, Redken, Alterna, Pureology. I really like Alterna Caviar Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner for my hair, probably the best I tried. When used together you get amazing results. Well, back to Chronologiste. My hair is fine to medium, very fine in the front around my face from all the highlights and more thick towards the back. It is naturally dark blonde/light brown with a bit of wave, which goes away the more damaged the hair gets. I get highlights about 3 times per year. Am 35 years old. That is the situation. The biggest problem I have with my hair is that the front gets too damaged and weak and very limp and since I like it light around my face, it is a never ending cycle of highlights and breakage. Also, I like it wavy, which almost never happens anymore due to the damage.
Like the nice addict I am, I had to buy Chronologiste to try, even for the price. It comes in a very nice box and the directions are pretty straight forward. Mix the cream with the pearls, wash the hair, towel dry, apply, rinse after 5-10 minutes. I washed my hair with clarifying shampoo as I always do before doing a treatment. I think it is very important to get all the junk out of the hair so the treatment could do its magic, I would advise not to skip this step. Pureology makes a really good clarifying shampoo, which protects colored hair. Then I towel dried my hair for a bit and applied the treatment. I do think that the reviewers who did not see a difference did not apply it very well. There is a video online, I think on Kerastase website even, that shows you how to do it. It is important to take the time with it and really work it into each hair strand. Starting with scalp just like you would apply color, part the hair and apply and keep doing that until the whole scalp is covered. Massage very well with slow motion. Then do the same thing for hair and massage the mask into every single hair making sure it is saturated. I gently brushed each section of hair at the end to make sure every hair fibre is taken care of. The whole thing did take me good 15-20 minutes to do. I was fine with the exact amount that Kerastase recommends using, did not skimp. My hair is long below my shoulders so maybe somebody with shorter hair could use a bit less. With this amount it would last me 10 treatments.
After I was done I waited about 12 minutes, emulsified with a bit of water, massaged again and rinsed. I did nothing to my hair afterwards at all to see the real difference. Did not brush it, did not put any product in it at all, not even my beloved Elixir Ultime. Just let it air dry.
Well, what can I say? I did this in the evening and really liked the results when it was drying. I was very happy. The real shock though came this morning. I slept with my hair in a loose bun. When I woke up and let my hair loose, I could hardly believe this. After one single use of this treatment, my hair was light, bouncy, wavy, shiny and with tons of volume, especially at the front! Totally unheard of for me lately. It is keeping its style like I went to a hair salon to get it done, think Jennifer Anniston when she wears it wavy. Really impressed. I have not had this kind of a hair day for about 10 years. And this is after only one treatment. I am persuaded the effects will be cumulative, it makes sense. I noticed my scalp is very happy since all the little bumps I would get lately, especially around my face are totally gone. I think this really takes care of the scalp, which means you will have healthier and denser hair. And the longer it is used, the more time will the scalp have to make progress. I noticed people had the best results when used weekly, which is exactly what I will be doing. That way the scalp and hair will always be in the best condition and protected.
I am sure my hair will be only getting better from now on and I would recommend the treatment to every hair type out there. Just make sure you really apply it correctly and take the time with it. For this kind of money, it just makes sense, you know? Highly recommended from me, will always buy it from now on. Even for the high price. I hope this helps.

I am a Kerastase fan since i was a teen. I love the shampoos and Masquintense for thick hair is a product i can not live without so, when i first saw this new treatment and read all the marvelous things that it is supposed to do i bought it (though it hurt my pocket since it is very expensive, 95 Euros for a box with 200ml cream and 50ml perls). I was very anxious to try it on and of course I expected miracles with all the rave reviews and the outrageous price. The result? TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT.
Did not help my dry hair at all (I get better results with Masquintense than this), no shine, no softeness, no nothing... i have dyed hair and i wanted the extra treatment to make my hair healthy, soft and shiny but i got absolutly nothing. It feels very velvelty and soft when you rinse your hair and it detangles my curls but that is something my hair mask does too.
The smell i did not like either but it was not a big problem for me.( I was more interested in the "amazing" results). The reason i put 2 stars is only for the elegant packaging. The box is very beautiful and when you open it you have the feeling that you opened a box that contains a precious set of jewels.
I will put this "treatment" until it is over since I still "mourn" for my 95 Euros to simply throw it to the garbage, but from my experience i'd say "Save your money gilrs for something better than this" or... if you wish to give it a try first go to a hair salon and try it before you buy it.
If you think i am too harsh with the product since i only tried it one time i say this. When i give so much money for a product that promises heaven (for hair) then I expect nothing less that miracles!

Fantastic stuff! I have overprocessed hair (permed, coloured, straightened, you name it!) and this really sorted all that out with just one treatment. Bought it as an alternative to signing up for a package of hair spa treatments, which would have cost way more than this product. After just one use, my hair felt stronger, fuller and was definitely shinier. The salon I bought this from told me the effects could last up to 4 weeks and initially I was sceptical but IT REALLY DID! Yes, it's crazy expensive but I'd definitely bite the bullet and repurchase.

P.S. ladies sensitive to scent may want to avoid this product - it has a very strong fragrance. By no means unpleasant (it does smell 'expensive' like others have pointed out!), but if you're sensitive, this could be an issue.

I looove love love and worship this product!! And have little candles and have a little altar for it! Ok not really, but I would. Anyways I requested this for Christmas and had used and and it was amazing but i had ran out of the white masque cream conditioner, so I just had the pearls in a drawer, I had been out of my purrology shampoo n conditioner n just had been putting hair up. So yesterday I wanted to wear it down and it was horrendous little haystack no matter how much morroccan oil and other products I used and I seriously wanted to cut off my hair. Anyways I remembered I had the pearls and a little bit of conditioner left of "it's a 10" masque hidden somewhere in back of my sink so I mixed them n voila my hair was beautiful and soft n like I had gone to salon . Today I got paid so I'm gonna go buy the kit again, Yaay! I am very OCD about my hair and looks so this Is top of the line so I love it!

This is a very good conditioning treatment. It left my hair feeling soft and silky and more manageable. As others have said, the packaging is beautiful and it has a very nice scent. I actually use a scale when I am measuring out the products. The 10 pumps of the beads always ends up needing additional pumps. (It has 50ml in the bottle and should last 10 treatments so I estimate 5ml per use which is a teaspoon.)

As nice as this was, it was not a miracle treatment for me. I certainty liked it and if it was a little more than my normal Kerastase conditioner, I would buy it again. However, at ~$150 it is just too expensive. I have longer hair and am able to use about 3/4 of the normal treatment amount, so it will last me slightly longer than the normal 10 weeks.

So far I have used it twice. If I feel differently with more treatments, I will update my review.

***EDIT*** July 22, 2011
Well, I bought it again so I changed my response about buying again. I only use it when my hair is starting to feel dry and it really does help. Even my stylist commented about how well my hair was doing, considering we went much lighter last summer. It had started to dry out which is why I bought this in the first place.

My only complaint is that the bottle with the pearls has a horrible pump. Both of my bottles are difficult to use. I shake it a little before each pump to get a better "pump", otherwise only a few pearls worth of product comes out. I have been considering using a mortal and pestle to crush the beads. I thought I could do it with the spatula but ended up with whole beads all over my bathroom! Oops!

I still do not think this is a "miracle" but it certainly is nice and luxurious.

I have used this treatment 3 times so far. I have very thin, fragile, colour treat hair.
Pros: Made my hair looking shinnier, healthyer and thicker looking. It has a nice scent, like expensive perfume and the packaging is nice. Id say its one of the best hair treatments ive tryed.
Cons: Apart from the steep price, for me it wasnt a miracle even tho it was very very good. Also i am not sure if its effects cumulates as you use it.

All in all, if you can afford buying it without breaking the piggy bank, give it a go. I am very curious to see if my hair will be in a better general condition after finishing this treatment. Will try to update.

I am a Kerastase devotee. Great company; high quality products. I've spent enough money on this hair care line to be a stock holder!
This one could be a 5 lippie-er. I've only used it twice on my baby-fine-thin-bleached-shoulder length hair with impressive shine, body, and sleek, swingy, HEALTHY results. The jury is still out, though. If this product does indeed have a cumulative effect, then I expect my hair can continue to get miraculously better!
Minus lippies for cost and fragrance:
--All Kerastase products are pricey, but one hundred and fifty USD? Really? Can't say that Chronologiste is cost effective just yet! I'm using half the amount directed to ease my sticker shock!
--Even more disturbing to me is the scent. YUCK!
I've been a dental hygienist since 1983 and I can block out unpleasant smells like nobody's business, but this stinks! It's a cross between over-perfumed shaving cream and patchouli. (Think: Man wearing too much cologne and Grateful Dead concert!) My husband, who is oblivious to all fragrances, commented on the smell! And... it lasts until my next shampoo, regardless of what other products I layer! I have never been a smell hater, but I would send this back for that reason alone.
However, I'm really curious to see how much improvement my hair can attain with this enigmatic product! I have high hopes, to say the least!
I will update at a later time if I experience 'best ever' results. For now, I would not repurchase. I'm certain there are products that cost much less, ("It's A 10 Leave-In") smell inoffensive, and deliver similar results.
LATE BREAKING UPDATE: Nope! No repurchase here. Great product but (short term) results do not justify the cost!

I've been using Kerastase products for the past 5 years and usually love them.
When my stylist suggested I try Chronologiste, I was skeptical but figured my hair can use the help.

My hair has gone through perming, coloring, straightening and after living in SE Asia for the last few years, can be a big frizzy mess. I tried the in salon treatment which left my hair silky smooth and shiny! It smelled great. But since I also colored right before I did the treatment, I figured it'll go back to normal after I wash it. But it didn't! I was surprised the effect lasted for nearly 3 weeks. I use the in home kit every 2 weeks for touch up. I follow all the instructions except I leave it on for 20 min. But will try the half dose next time as it's way more products than what I need.

It's super expensive but I haven't had such soft shiny hair in so long that it's totally worth it.

Age: 30-35   Skin: Normal, Tan, Warm   Hair: Brown, Relaxed   Eyes: Brown

I'm sold. Yep. That's it.

My hair is relaxed, so I must be extremely careful with it. No coloring, no razor trims, no flat-ironing (well, I flat-iron about once a quarter, so that's not often at all), and 90% of the time I wet-set with old fashioned rollers and sit under a medium-heat drying bonnet. I sleep on satin. I wear my hair in a bun most days (not tightly, just so the ends are tucked away). Yeah, I'm committed to my hair being gorgeous when I want it to be.

So this stuff intrigued me. And that intrigue is WARRANTED. Hot damn, this is good! My hair feels substantial, yet it's not weighed down. It's glossy, luscious and the ends are not crispy. Even with all my precautions, my hair didn't look or feel like this before. Bouncy-luscious and full-bodied. Even after using Aphogee and then series of Masquintense masks, this stuff trumps it.

I do use the full amount recommended (I haven't the guts to slight it - it's kind of not a matter of just getting more beautiful hair for me. It's more like preserving what I have and preventing breakage. My hair grows at a snail's pace and I've so far coaxed it into bra-strap length, after, like, 6 years).

I haven't yet left it on longer than 10-15 minutes, but I will try that on subsequent occasions. I wash my hair once a week, and each week, I've been using this. The results are cumulative. Very glossy, feels fantastic, ends are nice. Bouncy. SMELLS INCREDIBLE. Seriously. But my color has not been affected.

I don't mind shelling out extra for this stuff. It deserves the accolades. I don't know about how it's effecting my scalp (at the slow rate my hair grows, I'll likely never see any effects), but I *can* say that I am extremely happy with how my hair is looking and behaving. Thrilled.

Oh! I got my hair blown out this past week (3rd time in my life!) and the hairdresser couldn't believe my hair was relaxed. It seemed too healthy, too glossy. It shone like glass when she was done. I normally wear my hair a little curly/wavy, and the shine is strong there, too! I'm impressed. If it works, I'll buy it. I'll just save up more to get it.

I have mid-back length, thin, sensitive hair that is coloured every four weeks, so as you can imagine, I am always on the look out for a mask to help me with my dry, split and crispy mid-length to ends. This product is probably the best hair mask you will find on the market right now. I have tried quite a few other brands in the same price category like Wella Repair Mask, Milkshake, Phytodess, but this one really cracks it. It finally made my hair soft, shiny and healthy looking. And as a few other reviewers wrote, it is true that the longer you use this product, the more beautiful your hair becomes and you will start to see the benefits. I have been using it now for 2 months once a week. My hairdresser even commented on how healthy my hair was looking recently. She only sells Wella products in her salon and does not know that I am secretly using the Kerastase Chronologist on the side! LOL. Naughty me!! No heavy, oilyness to the hair just pure moisture and softness to my hair now. I also noticed that it is not necessary to use the full dose the package insert suggests. With half the dosage i.e. half the required cream and 5 caviar drops is sufficient for my hair mass. I find that if you mix it quite rapidly, the product increases in volume and amount. The product obviously lasts longer this way. I have a lot of fine hair so should work for most people. Really, a little goes a long way. I also comb the product in and leave it on a bit longer for 20-25 minutes to really get my monies worth! Overall, the best that high end hair care has to offer until something even more sensational comes to market! LOL.

This product was a huge splurge -- even for a huge product junkie like me -- but I am so glad I took it. I bought Chronologiste on a whim when I received notice that Kerastase was offering a 20% off Friends and Family code on kerastase.com a few months ago (I'm such a sucker for a sale) and started using it immediately. The results have been amazing and have transformed my fine, thick 2b curly hair into gorgeous, shiny ringlets. The results last a couple of days and Chronologiste seems to work better the more I use it. If you are at your whits end with your hair, I highly recommend trying Chronologiste. I adore it.

Well, all i can say is come back kerastase, all is forgiven!! I have dissed kerastase for quite a long time now for their lack of products for fine, oily hair. They seem to be the experts when it comes to dry, coarse hair in terms of conditioning treatments but for those of us with fine hair, they suck- none of their "volumizing" products have done jack for my fine, limp hair. Until now that is.... and ironically this isnt even a volumizing specific treatment- how crazy is that?!! Anyway, i bought this product on a complete whim- kind of a "I'm worth it" moment and as soon as i had pressed "complete order" the panic set in- I began thinking, "am i crazy?, why the hell have i just spent £100 on a hair product- and a kerastase product at that!", especially after my philip B russian amber shampoo fiasco (don't ask- the hairboard is united in their disappointment in that useless product!). Anyway, it arrived and i took a deep breath and used it. Its basically a pot of white cream that you spoon into a little bowl with the spatula which is included and then add 10 drops of what looks like teeny tiny pearls in some kind of oil from a pump dispenser. You then mix together and apply like conditioner, after shampooing, on towel dried hair. It recommends leaving for 5-10 mins so i left it for 10 mins and then rinsed thoroughly. It smells gorgeous and feels very rich and creamy. I always air dry and so i did my usual redken products afterwards and left to dry. Well, the results on my hair were stunning- it made my hair so thick (which i wasnt even expecting- i thought it was a "rejuvanating" product but i had masses of shiny volume, i was so happy (and relieved that i hadnt made another huge fool of myself over a hair product!). My hair was shiny, healthy and very very bouncy- the kind of hair you see on commercials! The other strange thing was that i didnt need to wash my hair the next day (my roots are usually super-oily) but my scalp seemed to be perfectly balanced- what a result! I will confess to you that i have seen been using a tiny bit every single day as i am now addicted to this product and if i dont use it, i dont get the same amazing results. I am a little worried about this as it is insanely expensive but i just cant go back- how could anyone go back after having 7 amazing hair days in a row?? The only thing i would say is, dont expect this to be a deep conditioner- it is moisturising, but it is in no way a deep conditioning treatment and if you need that, you will be disappointed in this product. It is more like a transformative product that improves the scalp and integrity of the hair, rather than conditions it. It will not weigh down fine, limp hair as I am testament to that and it will refresh your scalp and thicken your hair, it realy does renew your hair and give it extra bounce and vitality. As for the price, well, thats a matter of personal preference, it is bloody expensive but if it works consistently then i will just have to find a way to keep buying it! Also, just a heads up that if you buy from the kersatse website they will let you return if you dont like it. Well done kerastase- smooch.

I was skeptical to try this product because of the high price tag, but after reading the reviews (which were limited but positive) I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! I would reccomend buying it from Kerastases' website as they are offering free shipping right now for products over $85 and you get to choose 3 free Kerastase samples with your order. Plus, they say you can return it for any reason.
I used the treatment last night for the first time and followed the instuctions to a "T" except for the fact that I ended up leaving it on my hair for 1 hour instead of 10 minutes. My hair immediatley felt softer and this morning when I used my flat iron it was super soft, less frizzy and just looked sleek over all. Very impressed, more so than the Frederick Fekkai Overnight Hair Repair which cost more ($195) although that product is good too. My hair is bleached every 6 weeks and straighted with an iron every couple of days so I am constantly on a quest for a miracle conditioner and I think I have found it.
I feel it is my duty to write a good review for a product that works so well, especially since reviews for this product are limited at best. I will probably not use this product once a week as reccomended because of the price, but at least once a month and I will definatly purchase this again!

I work in a kerastase salon and won this product for doing the most in-salon treatments (75 for 1, 150 for a box of 10 to do at home) This is a really expensive treatment , but i think i will actually buy it when i'm done. Basically this treatment is supposed to do in one what every other treatment does (give shine, volume, repair and help the scalp) in my opinion it does what it says so far (i've done 3 in the past month) my hair was in need of serious help after bleaching, when i would blow dry (with the brush) my hair was stiff and frizzy and just gross. Now i'm starting to see a healthy shape come back , my volume lasts for 2 days and my hair doesnt get greasy on the 2nd day anymore! it's awsome ! (i had been washing my hair evey day for the past year) i have fineish hair and when i used to wake up in the a.m the whole bottom of my hair was like a hay texture mess (i can't even describe it) well that doesnt happen anymore. i used this product with bain de force shampoo and conditioner and blow dry with nectar thermique.
overall i thought this was a real treat, i used to use treatment as conditioner so it's really hard to find a masque that wows me.

MWEH.... I don't know how I feel about this... I just tried it for the first time yesterday and while it was fantastic - as pretty much all Kerastase products are - I can't say that it was much better than the other hair masks which are less than half the price. I typically use Masquintense III or Chroma Riche masks. My day-after hair does have a sort of thickness/heaviness to it today that I don't get with other Kerastase products, which I kind of like. Otherwise, it's about par for the course with their other masks - my hair is smooth, shiny, smells great. For the price, I'm not sure I'll buy it again. Will update after I've used it a few more times.
UPDATE: I'm loving this conditioner and think it IS better than the other Kerastase masks. You can see a definite improvement in hair texture, shine, and color is brighter after using this. Results seem to be cumulative, the more I use this the better my hair looks and feels. My hairdresser commented on how healthy my hair was at my last haircut. I've changed my "Buy this product again" response to yes.

I am in love!! I've tried this product only twice now and love the texture and look of my hair afterwards. It is steep but you can get way more than the 10 uses that they say. I have long bra strap length hair..and I only use a little bit at a time (given the price tag..I'm spreading out the uses to decrease my cost per use). i have fine hair.

Okay, I was browsing the kerastase website just because I love kerastase hair products and noticed that they had just launched something new which immediatly caught my interest.. Chronologiste! Which they claim is there most incredible and technological formula to date! So I curiously dashed down to my local Kerastase hair salon to purchase a pot (they also do the ritual at the salon but I really dont have time right now to go to the salon.) Well, it cost 95 euros!!!.. This didnt change my mind as I excpeted it to transform my hair into silky, shiney, glossy locks.
Packaging was very nice.. looks very good quality.. the product feels very rich and smells perfumy.
so blah blah blah, did the treatment (takes a bit of time mixing and parting the hair, Kind of like applying colour) and I just like to leave my masks on longer as I feel they penetrate my thick hair better. I then proceeded to rinse and style then after...
My hair felt well moisturised, somehow felt fuller too, it acually looked really good that day. Well I did this yesterday and woke up today, looked in the mirror and thought about it.. My hair isnt any different than what it was before I did this treatment. I dont know if my scalp feels any different as I never have issues with it to begin with (it claims to leave the scalp smoothed and hydrated).
Will I purchase again.. No! not for that price.
Its a good treatment but the resluts for me were not any much different than when I use the masquintense 3. I did expect alot more!
