I bought this when it first came out, love the decorative packaging however the color was quite a disappointment. It is very sheer, to the point where it doesn't even build up to become slightly opaque. The color looks beautiful in the pan though, I just wish I could find a way to make this work.

I purchased online after seeing how beautiful the color was... unfortunately there isn't much pigmentation. I don't use this color much because I can never put on enough to achieve the color I'd like.

This was totally on the money of what ive wanted, a med basic purple. All of my other purples are in the plum family so this will be a nice change from that. This looks even better over a purple shaded primer/base, it made the color so intense.

I was totally not going to buy this (I own a ridiculous amount of purple shadows & have no need 4 any more) , but while I was waiting to be checked out I saw it and on a whim got it. Well, I should have swatched it in the store. It is a beautiful color & I agree with the person who said it was a toned down stars & rockets, but I find that this has like no pigmentation! I would have to layer this like 10X to get a decent color payoff. As 4 the packaging, i'm not a fan which doesn't really matter because I depot all my shadows & blushes anyway. I only liked the packaging on the lip products in this collection. This was a disappointment.

This a pretty purple, a calmer version of Stars'N'Rockets. I have fair/pinky skin so I have to be very careful not to overuse so I dont look like I have crazy sick eyes. I have other purple e/s like Creme De Violet, Plum, etc and I really never use them. I bought this because of the London Collection otherwise it is a shadow I can live without.
Pretty color but nothing special.

This color works way better than I thought it would. I have a lot of issues with purples, everybody thinks they are automatically supposed to look great on people with hazel eyes, and that is not always true. I have many mac purples (satellite dreams, beautiful iris, parfait amour, flirty number, shale, etc) but this one is my new favorite. It is the more mature version of stars n rockets (less violent duochrome, more satiny finish and consistent color), more befitting for laid back (daily) wear. looks great as a "neutral" with black eyeliner and good mascara. I am loving this. I recommend.
EDIT:
While all those things I said before are still true, this color does definitely fade, even when applied over a base. I am sure that is more the case on me than most people (as everything fades to 50% of it's former glory on me within a few hours), but I still think that this eyeshadow in general is going to be a fader. So I would recommend applying this wet with mixing medium to get the best vibrancy from the start.
PS- If applied over Red Violet it is beautiful, and lasts much longer.

If you have green or blue eyes, I would get this eyeshadow! I find it really brings out my green eyes like no other purple has. Its labeled as a frost, yet I find its more like a satin. Overall, really pleased!

I'm a WOC; several shades of purple just don't work with me. They either don't show up or make my eyes look like they have dark circles. When I first saw this color (when it came out in the Liberty of London collection, I wasn't into MAC when this color came out in the Dame Edna collection) I was excited because I thought this color would work on me it being a frost and all.
Except it didn't.
I tried it on several minutes ago with primer and a white base. Up close, you can see the color (somewhat). But further away, like two feet away, it looks like I'm not wearing any eyeshadow. Plus, it looks matte from further away.
I'm contemplating whether I should keep it and add it to my MAC collection, give it away to my much paler friend (her bday IS coming up), or return it for something else. Hmmm...

Dame's Desire is a frost duochrome from the collection Liberty of London that has just come out, the colour is between Parfait Amour and Satellite Dreams with a blueish duochome to it, it's a medium purple, it looks great paired with Parfait Amour or Satellite Dreams in the crease.
Mac does it again with another "IT" purple!
this is one amazing colour!
