I have very high expectation on it, since there are many hypes about the product. When I applied it on my face for the first time, the first thought stroke me was that :" dont tell me there is actually silica in it." I checked the label and found "silica" right there...Errr, well , yes, silica is widely used in many "wrinkle-filler" products, but what I expected from this SERUM is to improve the aging from the inside instead of fixing my face like fixing the wall crack(like a touch-up!)!
Some say the serum is helpful in brighting, which I found why from the ingredient too. It was "Titanium Dioxide", which is used in painting, dyestuff etc and was actually named as the whitest pigment in the world. I am not saying it is not OK to use in cosmetics, on the contrary, it is one of indispensable ingredients in "Sun Blocks"....
Again what I am not that happy is that I really do not expect the ingredients used in quick-touch-up-type facial care/cosmetics to be used in a serum that is claimed to be effective in improving the skin condition, not to say its high price tag is supposed to be due to the fact that it can fundamentally tackle the skin problem, not because of the cheap elements that maybe fix the problem temporarily.
I will not buy again.

Bio-Performance is a serum that is absolutely decadent when you apply it to your skin. It is a cream formula that is so absolutely rich and creamy your skin feels luxuriously smooth, soft and hydrated immediately after application. I'm used to serums that can be runny and clear as many of them are that are on the market currently. When I first tried Bio-Performance I became addicted to the product. My skin adored it. There was no turning back.
I'll admit, I do use it in conjunction with the Shiseido line of other products. I use their cleansers, Eudermine and moisturizers. When you use them all together, your skin becomes radiant and within weeks, you do notice a significant reduction in fine lines, texture and there is a plumping where plumping should occur. At times, I'll occasionally switch off to some other products I still own. I need to get rid of them. But I'll never go back to them. I will remain faithful to Shiseido at this point now that I see what it has done for my skin.
This serum is interesting. It acts almost like a primer. It gives a matte finish that is dew-like and glowing. My skin feels good. Now that spring has arrived and the sun is stronger (I am always wearing sunblock) I can feel the products working in a different way. It's almost as if they acclimate themselves to the climate and your skin. I've been using them through two different seasons now, harsh winter temps and now the warmer spring temperatures and that's a difference of over 50 degrees and I have to say the products still work appropriately for whatever the weather is outside. In other words, they don't sit on top of my skin just because it's warmer outside now. They hydrate appropriately no matter what the temperature is and don't make my face look shiny or oilier. As a serum, I still layer with my moisturizer and my skin is never over-saturated with product. It just looks good. Also, a little goes a long way. You don't need a lot of this product. As far as price, I've purchased some serums that were far more expensive and I really can't say that I saw a considerable difference as I have with this serum in as little of time. Definitely will stay in my skin care.

Absolutely love this product, it's the only one that achieve to diminished my forehead expression lines and believe me when I say I've tried most serums and creams in the market, from cheap to expensive ones and this one is a miracle worker, it takes some time to produce it's effects, for me it was only one month after I started applying it, but it's worth the wait!

Right, so three days after I got a sample of this in a GWP, I went out and bought the full size version.
THIS IS AMAZING.
This is more like a gel cream than a liquid serum, it has a lovely silky texture, applies very smoothly and spreads evenly, absorbs quickly. Scent is light and inoffensive and you only need one pump to cover your face, especially if you're using a Shiseido softener or toner first.
Packaging is luxe, a futuristic and elegant gold pump bottle, the only down side is you cannot see how much product is left.
It says to use twice a day but I only use it at night time and I can honestly say, short of isotretinoin medication for adult acne, nothing has changed my skin as much as this product.
It leaves my face smooth, my skin brighter, more finely textured and evenly toned, my pores appear smaller and I am using less foundation and concealer when I apply my makeup. I have been using this for about three weeks now and it has made a noticeable difference to my skin.
As close to a "miracle in a jar" as I have ever found and yes, it's VERY expensive (I think about $175NZD for 30mL) but for something that actually works and makes a visible difference to my face (I'm interested to see how much impact it has on my melasma patches but I expect that will take at least a few months) as far as I am concerned, it is definitely worth it. Every single cent.
If I was only going to buy a single luxury skincare product for the rest of my life, it would be this.
LOVE IT.

I am on a third tube of Shiseido serum and I cannot imagine abetter product. Love the lightweight consistency that takes only minutes to absorb. It leaves your skin smooth, hydrated, revitalized. I can tell the difference in my skin right away- if I don't use it for several days for any reason it becomes ashy, unhappy and dry. I will definitely repurchase.

I've been using this product for 6 months now. My skin normally looks pretty good, but it gets dehydrated and flaky in winter. I find this product to be a very good makeup base/primer and to calm the skin. Besides that, I don't think it does much anti-aging wise. Most of my beauty products are natural (100% pure, Dr Hauschka, Reviva Labs and essential oils blends) and they work much better than any high end/ big cosmetic companies products that I've used (Shisheido, Chanel, Dior, Clarins, 3LAB, Guerlin, Clé de Peu, etc). I get influenced by the hype surrounding a new product and go buy it. It's true that these brands have very nicely packaged items that look and smell great, but natural ingredients are best. So, bottom line is that this is amazing under my mineral powder, (so I'll buy it again as a primer) and prevents my skin from further drying in winter, but for 60-100$ (price tag in Canada) there are better and more natural products that counteract wrinkles, firm the skin and add radiance.

I started out with great hopes for this cream but it didn't pan out.I'm an older gal (ahem) and have taken very good care of my skin over the years but needed an extra boost. I did notice some slight improvement but not enough to justify the cost, since like most serums it comes in a dispenser that doesn't allow you to see how much product remains is problematic for me at least. I think it may be worth a try for younger gals (I don't mean teens)in their 30's and on up.

This stuff is amazing. The first time I used it, I noticed my face was so smooth and bright. It reduced the oily shine on my skin, and made it feel soft and delicate. I've been using it for several weeks now, and my face is different. It also works well as a primer, under makeup! (I used cheaper primers and had to stop because it made me break out and stripped the moisture from my skin. This Shiseido serum has double impact, as serum and as primer!)

I really wanted to love this due to all the reviews here but I just didn't. I find that the smell is overpowering which isn't generally a big deal for me but the main thing is it just didn't seem to work.... I find that you have to pump out quite a few squirts to ensure your face is covered with this and it didn't really do anything in terms of hydrating or the look or feel of more luminous skin. What a disappointment considering i generally do like Shiseido products.

This is a pure beauty potion in an innovative looking bottle! My first sampling blew me away for it literally diminished fine lines on my hand within minutes! I'll never forget that i left the store with such a heavy heart by not taking this serum home with me that day. This is more or less $150 in my country (due to taxes I guess) which is ridiculous compare to $80 US price. I'm using this now & always have extra bottle as my reserved back-up coz this serum is beyond HG for me! This product works before my eyes! It's an understatement actually to just plainly say that it works! Shiseido made a miracle worker and this is it. It makes my skin creaseless, firmer, soft & incredibly smooth that I can't rave enough. The texture is rich & can be used on its own as moisturizer. I tried to switch to other anti-aging brands from time to time, but I kept going back to this one & I crazily feel that I'm cheating on it whenever I do that, LOL! Bio-performance serum is my true love & I'm not sure if I'll ever exchange it for another serum. I'm not closing my door for the better Shiseido products, but right now I can only take a deep breath by just looking at the much expensive Future LX serum.

I got a small sample of this serum after an online Sephora purchase, and was blown away. This serum leaves my skin feeling amazing- it dries to powder and makes my skin feel incredibly soft. The serum itself feels like a very heavy cream, but spreads well. And the smell is divine. It smells like expensive cream to me :) I splurged on the Shiseido Bioperformance cream on my 30th birthday and this serum has the same scent.
I just wish this serum wasn't so expensive, I'm not sure I can afford it right now :(

I had received a sample of this from Sephora, but unfortunately, it broke me out horribly. I haven't really had a breakout in 2 years, and it's the only different product I was using, so I know that's what it was. I prefer L'Oreal Youth Code or Olay Regenerist.

I have been a user of MakeupAlley for years but this is the first review I've written as this product is AMAZING. I received a 9ml sample (full bottle 30ml) and have been using for almost 2 weeks now. This product has made leaps and bounds in extra moisture for my skin, and really does correct some blotchiness & evens skin tone - I've had a friend remark today my skin was just looking so good. The best is the feeling of supple toned skin.
An extra pro that I love is that is that at night when I have my "night" face on with no makeup and moisturiser my face is often shiny and unattractive, but with this under my moisturiser my face is love and matte. WOW.
Only con is the price tag for such a small bottle - I suspect a full bottle would only last me 3-6 months used sparingly.

I just started using this yesterday so I know my review will not be the most helpful. But I thought I'd write a review right now and then update a couple weeks to a month later on results. Compared to the Dior One Essential serum (which trashed my skin---see separate review of that), this serum is pretty thick and takes longer to absorb into your skin, which I'm not too fond of. I agree with reviewers who compared this to a moisturizer, as its consistency is definitely less like a serum and more like a moisturizer/lotion. Since it's thick, it's harder for a tiny amount to cover your entire face. I need more of this serum that the One Essential to cover my whole face. But I don't mind, since this is $80 and the One Essential is like $120 (pre-tax). I can see why the smell bothers people---it almost reminds me of that baby-smell. It doesn't bother me much because though the smell is pretty strong at first, it quickly fades. I also agree with reviewers in that this serum leaves a film on your face that leaves your skin powdery smooth, yet not uncomfortable. As some other people have been doing, I haven't been using a separate moisturizer with this because I don't think it's necessary. That's what I love about it. It also works as a great primer for make-up so I haven't been using my primer either. I like it so far, esp. since the One Essential immediately produced breakouts, and this one hasn't broken me out thus far. We'll see if that lasts, and I will definitely update. I haven't seen any results so far, except for smoother skin, but I also use Dior's exfoliant and toner everything morning and night, so I can't necessarily contribute the smoothness to this serum. I'm glad to see this doesn't have salicylic acid and castor oil in it like the One Essential (yuck!). I hope to see positive results like everyone else has!
**2-Week Update---my skin is softer, smoother, more hydrated, and CLEARER!!! So far, I'm loving this stuff!!!!! Still not using an additional moisturizer. =)
***3-Week Update---had to add one lippie back because my skin has never looked/felt better! Skin is more supple, softer, and breakouts have practically ceased. Dryness is all gone. Fine lines & wrinkles are lessened considerably. Still no additional moisturizer necessary.

I got a deluxe sample of the Bio Performance Super Corrective Serum from Bloomingdales and used it for a week. I also switched up my entire skin care routine this month-- 1st time i did this in 8 years (bad, i know). My skin has recently gotten very dry and flaky-- when 5 years ago you could fry eggs on my face it was so oily. (I would give anything to have that oily skin back, BTW)
I am, and have always been a cult user of Shiseido, they out out a GREAT product and are always improving the technology behind their products.
I believe a serum is only as good as the products you layer it with so I'm going to give my entire routine to get the full spectrum.
My routine in order:
- cleanse with Shiseido Future solution LX Extra Rich Cleansing Foam
- apply Shiseido Benefiance Nutriperfect Pro-fortifying softener
- apply Super corrective serum
- use Shiseido Future Solution LX Total Regenerating Cream Night cream (or super restorative cream during the day)
- Benefiance Concentrated Wrinkle resist eye cream (night)
- 3lab WW eye cream (day)
All i have to say is OMG. what a difference i see in texture tone and softness. I mixed the Super Corrective Serum with the b5 gel and it's like i have a different, softer, more even texture of my skin. I have dry skin and this really helps lock in the moisture BEFORE you use moisturizer.
I have used Skinceuticals CE Ferulic and B5 Hydrating gel for years. Years. until i switched it up a few weeks ago b/c i need to focus on restoring my skin's barrier and moisturize (ill go back to anti oxidants in a few months).
I have not broken out from this at all either and it smells amazing, like all Shisedo products. Expensive as it may be, sometimes you just have to pay for better quality. This is definitely one of those products.

I bought this after reading good reviews on beauty blogs and MUA. The airport was selling it in a box of 2 for about SGD$200. The serum is more of a moisturiser consistency and has an obvious scent. It spreads relatively easily when you apply it, and you feel like there's a slight film over your skin but it's not uncomfortable. I like how it makes my skin feel really smooth and soft when I wake up the next day. It also worked well on my smile lines, as after using it for about 2 weeks I realise that the smile lines are getting fainter.

I've been using a sample that was sent to me with an online sephora order and I really like it. I mostly just need serum under my eyes and on the pores beside my nice on upper cheeks and this really has a smoothing healthy effect. I may have to buy a full size. Beats drug store options by leaps and bounds.

I really like this serum. Initially, I got a sample in one of the magazines; then after trying it for a few days and getting great results, I decided to splurge and buy a full size bottle at Nordstrom. I've been using it now for about two weeks and I'm really impressed with the results. It is a serum according to the label, but the consistency of it is more like a moisturizer. I use it as a last step in my beauty regimen (in place of a moisurizer). I found it best works that way and i relly don't need anything else after i put it on. My other serums are more liquid in consistency and absorb very fast, whereas this serum forms a nice protective barrier and gives me a nice finish as soon as I apply it.
It's very soothing and smooths out my complexion. I use it once a day, in the evening, and wake up with nicely refreshed skin in the morming. I'll definitely continue to use it and maybe even try other products from the Shiseido line.

I got a sample of this as well as the bio performance whitening moisturiser together a few weeks ago. I love the way this serum glides on my skin giving it a soft powdery feeling.
The next day- did not notice any drastic improvements in fine lines or pore like some other reviewers, but skin did feel smooth and radiant.
2 weeks later- pores don't seem to be so large ( although i did start using a Mac primer in the meantime) subtle improvement in fine lines and i have noticed that i don't get acne on my nose when i get my period anymore !
overall really like this product !
