I just found a sample packet of this and started using it... and was so sad to find that it's discontinued. I love it! It makes my bare skin look way better when I don't want to wear makeup, and looks great underneath makeup as well.

This is a pearly-white illuminator for the face and less of a primer. I have not noticed that it keeps my foundation on longer or makes it any moother or anything like primers claim to do. What this does for me is it gives me a lit-from-within glow that is just really beautiful. I just wish it was more hydrating. This primer is more liquidy which helps it to spread easily and evenly upon application. The glow lasts all day, and I wear sheer to medium coverage foundations with this, so i have no problems seeing that glow come through. I hightly recommend that this primer be worn with the Lancome Teint Miracle foundation for that perfect-as-a-vampire beauty (and no, i don't mean sparkly). It's really gorgeous with that foundation on me! I may repurchase, but since Sephora is phasing out the Tarina Tarantino line, only if it's not too much trouble to order online.
Update: I actually returned this since it dried out the area under my eyes so bad. I just own better primers. Will not repurchase do the drying issue.

I got a small sample of this from Sephora and was excited being there are no silicones. On first glance it seemed like a great product when I tested it on my hand. Then I applied it to my face before normal makeup. This has a horrible scent. The only way to describe it is spoiled makeup with a very chemical aftersmell. Ick. The product itself did not really smooth on that well and it seemed to not sink in very well. This left a coating that felt a little heavy and while my makeup stuck well it also seemed to seem rather tacky. There was really nothing special to the white coloring of this. I would not purchase being this is nothing special for the price.

Wow, I'm sad to read negative reviews about this product, as this is one of the few I can truly call my HG (I am kind of a product wh....junkie). Although I admit I rarely use this as a primer -- but that's because it makes my skin look so nice in its own! (Well, with a little concealer judicicously applied on top...) This is high praise from someone with skin that is a bit blotchy (a little rosacea, etc), dark circles, some aging (I'm 40), and just generally with dull skin I've always be unhappy with.
This looks pearly in your hands, and maybe when you first apply it, but it immediately softens to a lovely, healthy-skin-looking diffused glow. I've gotten so many compliments on my skin since I started using it (about 9 months ago, maybe?).
Now I'm looking forward to mixing it w/my foundation, as another reviewer suggested (Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation -- my other HG!).
I think *both* of these products prove that heavy coverage isn't the answer to healthy-looking skin. Products that can replicate that youthful "lit-from-within" quality...that's what does it for me.

This stuff definitely gives your skin a glow, which is nice for that well rested look. This might be an awesome product for people who have worry free skin, not me unfortunately. I've been having tons of brekouts in areas where I don't usually have this and I think this primer might be to blame.

I tried this product as soon as it debuted at Sephora & I'm sorry it doesn't seem to work for others but this is my favorite primer out of all of them. This gives a really pretty pearly glow & it lasts all day for me. I use this over Make Up For Ever Face & Body but I don't use the foundation all over, just where it feels like my skin tone is uneven. My skin just seems to look fresh & glow whenever I wear this.

Didn't cause my skin any problems which is a plus.. But just not good enough to purchase' I received a sample from sephora & I find it to be blah! Laura mercier illuminating timed moisturizer give the real glow... As well as GA light fluid primer.. This is a waste of money and an unnecessary product. I am a huge primer junkie and I'm all about the glow but this is not it!

It's not a terrible primer, but not as mattifying as I desire in a primer or base.
It has a pretty shimmer to it- but this would be better as a highlighter than an actual "all over the face" primer.
It is ever so slightly 'tacky' and holds on well to other products.
It has a soft 'milky' smell I really like!

I like this primer because it has a buildable shimmer and no silicones. It shows through some foundations more than others. For example it looks great with my True Match, but it shows through too much when I pair it with ColorStay. This is kind of annoying because it's a guessing game but it wears nicely enough. As far as application over this primer I find it to be just okay. It does allow for a very even application but I wouldn't call that an exclusive benefit of this product. I received it as a sample from Sephora, in a large enough glass bottle with a pump so no comment on price or packaging. Having used this product for a month, I will not purchase it because while it performed decently, there was nothing special about it and I would prefer to have consistency regarding its ability to blend with several foundations.

Got this as a sample. I am sort of new to primers, but I know how the good ones will look under makeup. This one does have a "glow" to it which might look nice even without makeup. However, under my mineral foundation, it was too much glow. It was easily rubbed off more than usual and 2 hours into wearing it, wrinkles between my eyebrows were showing. Never had that happen before since I'm young..
If you have OILY/NORMAL skin, I'd avoid this. If you have very dry skin, it might work for you.

I bought this product because I thought it was going to be awesome. I've always wanted to master that "dewy look". The primer was a plus when I read the cute package! I really wished this would of worked but sadly it didn't :( it gave me no slight shimmer and only made my makeup last a tad bit longer than usual. I saw no significant difference. It's not worth the 32 bucks.

Feels great going on, but does nothing for my foundation in terms of longevity. I'm definitely "glowy" right now, but I wouldn't rely on this as a foundation primer.

I got a sample of this from Sephora. While I love primers (The Smashbox is my HG), I'm not too crazy about this. Unlike other primers where you have the option to wear it alone or with makeup, You MUST wear foundation/powder after this or else you'll just end up looking like a ghost. I'm not sure if it has any brightening effects because my makeup looked the same.

I'm not much of a fan for primers, but this one does not give you that slick gross finish like some do. It kind of smells like peanuts...which is strange, but it does give a nice smooth finish. I don't feel that there is much of a shimmer to it like it claims.

I use this in coordination with my foundation. I received a decent sized sample from Sephora this fall. I generally add a pump or two to my foundation and mix it all into my face at once. Not to brag, but my skin looks fantastic when I do this. It just adds a touch of flare to foundation. I'm stopped at work and questioned about my skin routine. This stuff makes me glow. I would never put it directly on my face as a primer, though. I just use it to diffuse the thickness of regular foundation. I really like this product the way that I'm using it. For that reason, I will definitely purchase again. As for breakouts, I haven't had a single problem with this. Skin is behaving the same as it always does. Combo, slightly sensitive, but by all standards, it's in good shape. For reference, my daytime foundation is Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light, applied with fingers. I wouldn't mix this with my evening foundation- Nars Sheer Glow. Also, I would say it's pretty expensive, but I work full time and I don't mind paying for a quality product.

I so wanted to really like this after reading some reviews. But alas, it really did not work for me at all. As a matter of fact, I believe this was a contributor to a huge clogged pore I got on my nose. I'm not really a primer fan, but I know I need one for my enlarged pores. I was hoping to add a little luminosity to my skin with this particular primer. I got neither. No pore minimizing, no luminosity at all. It really did nothing at all for my skin, my makeup was sliding off my face after a couple of hours and seeing as I am more dry rather than oily, I thought that was weird. I am returning this to Sephora.

I also received a free sample of this from Sephora for downloading their iPhone app. In general, I agree with what others have been saying about the "pearl effect" not showing up once you apply foundation.
(For price, I only based this on the fact that it was free. The free sample packaging was also mediocre. The part of the container that held the product was nice and solid - either a frosted glass or a heavy duty plastic - but the lid is horrible. It creaks, and you feel like if you twist it too much it will crack. I can't speak for the actual, full size product.)
When swatched on your hand, or even when looking at your fingers after applying, there is a definite pinkish/fuschia duochrome-y pearl finish. However, applying it over your face doesn't really do much. There might be a bit more of a luminescence or glow, but not too noticeable, and it completely disappears after applying foundation, etc. Also, since I usually use a highlighter as part of my face application anyway, the effect really is minimal.
Also, being called a "primer" I expect to be able to use this under my regular foundation and have some sort of payoff, but there isn't much difference (in the way of glow, smoothness, staying power, etc).
I have not noticed any negatives (such as pilling), just it doesn't seem to do much and I would not pay a lot of money for this product.
I will, however, try someone's suggestion of mixing it into my foundation and see how that works.

I got this for downloading the Sephora app and was all excited about it but pretty disappointed overall. It didn't make me break out or feel bad on my skin but I don't notice any sort of pearly glow or difference to the look of my skin when I wear this. Also the lid broke very quickly but I'm not sure if it'd be an issue for the full size product.

I wanted to try this primer out after seeing it on yt, i wanted to have the pearl dewy look, when you swatch it on your hand you can def see the pearl glow but i agree with others as soon as you put on the foundation its gone :( , it does leave you with a dewy look. and I def. didnt want to pay $32 bucks for 1oz primer that doesnt completely satisfy..... but i highly recommend asking sephora for a sample, they give you plenty that will last about a week or so ;)
