I've had this product a while and used it a lot when I first bought it however I've since put it aside - until now. I came across it again before and decided to try applying it with a lip brush and it's a million times better! It's a very intense fuschia but still very wearable. I have a few from mac which are lovely but they are on the blue side so look overwhelming at times but this is just a simple fuschia. I took one lipstick off due to the texture. I do much prefer mac lipsticks in terms of texture. The Ysl ones feel quite think on the lips and almost gritty. However with that being said I do get the colour payoff so I don't mind. Applying lipsticks with a brush is the way forward for me I think as it makes such a difference.

I love this color!!!! Yes it's intense, but so cool! I alway get compliments when I wear this! :) I'm super picky when it comes to lipsticks and this is one of my favs! Smells really good too. The only thing is that you have to be really careful because it can get messed up kinda easy.

Firstly, I love the smell of this lipstick. This is exactly how lipsticks should smell like. It is a beautiful lipstick, as expected from YSL. The colour is very bright and intense so i don't wear it often. But i still really like it. YSL lipsticks are the best.

Great, really great colour! It's a very intense, hot fuschia, highly pigmented with a creamy and slightly(almost unoticeable) sparkly finish colour.
When it comes to the name, the term "Tyrian Purple" isn't exactly correct when it comes to describing the colour but it's not entirely false either. "Porphyra" (purpura in latin) was a very expensive, elite fabric dye used in the ancient years by royalties and produced strictly by Byzantium which was an ancient Greek region. This substance derived from a seashell and -depending on how it was processed- there were four shades as a result:
1) Bright Tyrian Purple(which is an intense hot fuschia which also matches the shade no.128 Tyrian Purple of Rouge Pur)
2) Medium Tyrian Purple(intense blood red colour)
3) Tyrian Purple(imperial purple/plum)
4) Dark Tyrian Purple(intense midnight blue, blue/black)
Hope the trivia i added didn't bore you while reading :p
Anyway, back to the actual lipstick... Very hydrating, colour doesn't change with time, it doesn't bleed but unless you use a lip liner, you're gonna have issues with staying power.
Packaging is a piece of jewel and it feels amazing to have it in my beauty case.
Costs 30Euro (as all Rouge Pur lipstick shades do).
I would highly recommend this colour for every woman: On fair complections it gives a lovely Lolita look while on darker complections it gives a sensual Exotic result.
I've loved it and i will definately rebuy when it runs out !!

Yes, I would repurchase, although, as I do not use this hot pink colour on a regular basis, it will last me a while :-)

As the previous reviewer pointed out, this is more of a hot pink/fuschia colour vs. purple. I bought the classical #19 lippy from YSL first and although it is a nice colour, found it to be a bit dark and too blue for my skin tone (but I still love it). I wanted a more wearable bright pink so on my next trip to YSL counter I discovered #128 and fell in love with it. Ladies who tend to be on the warmer side of the spectrum will be able to pull this off no problem, I am sure the ladies on the cooler side as well. As the reviewer below pointed out it does have a slight shimmer and my version seems to have a few (albeit very small and sophisticated) glitter particles. Please do not be alarmed if you don't like glitter, these are tiny and can only be seen very close up and they really give your lips a sexy look.

I disagree with the statement that this one lasts long on lips, on me it doesn't, but as this is my 3rd YSL lippy I am kind of used to that by now. I have better performance in terms of longevity on my lips with Chanel or Dior, but then, no one has hot pink colours like YSL :-)

It does not bleed and can be worn without a lip liner (which I tend to do).

If you want to match nail polish with it, I recommend OPI's It's all Greek to me (with shimmer) or OPI's Pink Flamenco (without any shimmer).

Highly recommended, but 1 lippy off for the staying power.

This is one of my favourite lip colours ever. I bought it instead of Rose Culte in the Rouge Volupte collection as I was a few dollars short of Rose Culte. This is more sparkly than Rose Culte but the shades are almost identical. The formula is creamy, non drying and very long lasting. It is a bit pricey but if you like this colour you will use it over and over again, it is that wonderful.
I should add however that despite the name it is not a purple at all, but a gorgeous hot pink :)
