Did they change the formula? I used to use this product all the time and was obsessed. I then, for some reason, stopped using it for a while and when I went back, it reacts so differently to my hair. It soaks up oils just fine... and I don't have the problem with gray/white patches a lot of others are having... but........

........It makes my head SO FLIPPING ITCHY! It's not even worth using because my will be scratching my head like a dog with fleas! I use it because it's what I have at the moment but cringe at the thought because I know I will itch. I don't use it use to absorb oil, I mostly use it for texture and volume.. and it works.. but because of the feeling, I will not buy again.

Absolutely love this product.I'm not keen on dry shampoos as a rule, but sometimes if I'm late home and have an early start I really don't have time to wash my hair. This not only freshens up my hair it does a pretty good job at hiding greys , something I didn't expect.I just wanted away from the original white dry shampoo. Ok , it won't do much for grey when it's badly needing dyed, but when the roots appear at first it's great. It does look white when it sprays on but as you rub it in it is brown, youcan see it on hands.Sometimes I use it at roots even when
I've just washed my hair.I'm a very dark brunette. Will keep on using this.

I really like Batiste dry shampoos in general. Picked this up because I saw it on sale and loved how I didn't have to be really careful to rub in a lot or have an "antiqued" look of the white powders. Since then, I have tried some other brunette dry shampoos and this one is so much better. Doesn't get color all over my hands after application when I'm brushing my hair or pulling it back. Will repurchase.

I don't have oily hair, so I'm not sure why I felt the need to purchase this. I guess I wanted to freshen up my 'do on days i didn't shampoo. After a month or so of occasional (2x per week max) use, I developed flaky dry scalp right at the edge of my hairline where I most commonly used this product. It's a great idea, but totally dried out my scalp. Now I have been combating flakes for the past month and can't seem to get back to normal. Will not repurchase! Plus, even the brunette variety made my hair look gray and dusty.

Although I can't stand the smell this product saves me so much time in the morning and because it's got a tint to it I can use it to add some colour to my roots. You just have to spend some time combing it in properly , you don't want to look like you have a lot of dandruff.

This shampoo has literally saved my hair. I have very fine, oily hair. And on top of that, it's super curly and has to be washed daily to appear clean.
This is the ONLY dry shampoo I've found for dark hair that has a white powder spray that ACTUALLY disappears. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE CAN. I don't have a problem with the smell, nor have I found it lasts terribly long. Personal opinion of course. I got it for $8 at Ulta (it was the last bottle!)
I would definitely recommend this. I have used three other common brands from Walmart, Target, CVS... They weren't worth the money. Cheaper, but not helpful in cleaning my hair at all.
This dry shampoo gave my hair life and volume and a super quick refresh! HOORAY!!!
UPDATE::: this is now being sold at TJMaxx and Marshall's for $2 less than Ulta. For $6.99 I picked up a spare bottle!

My only expectation of using this product is that it can transform my greasy/gross hair into clean looking haiir in a short period of time. I looked for this stuff for a while and got it for 5.99 at tjmaxx last week.

I had a hectic week, got home late last night, had meetings today and woke up with my regular greasy hair... until I used this stuff... now it looks kinda dried out, but honestly? What do you exepect out of a dry shampoo anyway? It's supposed to soak up the grease somehow!

Anyway, this worked fast and I am in love with this product! I think I'll order a crate of it!!!! Holy Grail!

The original Batiste gets 5 lippies from me but I just can't stand the brunnette one.

Like others have said, the smell is just awful. Sweet and creepy. And in my experience, it doesn't go away. I hate hair products with strong smells. Additionally, the powder comes out brown but it turns white anyway, so what is the point? I have dark brown, thick hair and the original white absorbs and isn't detectable. I'd just stick with the original.

If you don't like the scent of the original (it just smells...I dunno mineral-y) the "British" scent (what does that even mean?) is much more neutral than the brunette and the can has a cute union jack design - I'd go with that.

This dry shampoo does a good job of absorbing the oil in my hair and leaves a matte look. I got this brunette one to try and avoid the why spray that other dry shampoos spray out, but this looks the same to me. The reason I wouldn't repurchase this is because of the smell; it smells terrible and the smell lasts for a loooong time! If the smell went away soon after it's sprayed on, I would totally repurchase this (or maybe the original since this doesn't actually spray out a dark brown color), but the scent is just too much.

I have tried this and the original Batiste, and I prefer the original. My hair is very very dry - I could get away with one wash a week if it didn't tangle and frizz - but if I straighten it sometimes the roots get a bit greasy on day 3-4. I don't dislike this product, it does what it should. I only ever need to use it once as I will always wash the following day, but I was concerned that when I washed my hair, the colour came out in the shower! I won't use it now as I live in the UK where rain is not uncommon. I don't want to have not only bedraggled hair but stained clothing as well. I'll stick to the original or even talc if I need to.

I love dry shampoo. Love it. I was nonchalantly introduced to dry shampoo by a dear friend when I studied abroad in England (ah memories) and it changed my life. I used to have to wash my hair every day and hope it wasn't greasy before 2pm or put it up in a nasty, slick pony tail. Not anymore!! She gave me the original Batiste to try and I love that stuff. When I discovered the brunette one, however, I fell in love with that, too. It's cheap, it doesn't stain clothes or hairline or anything, it works(!), it's easily accessible, easy to toss in my bag and it smells good. I also like that it doesn't have any propylene glycol or isopropyl myristate in it, which irritate my scalp. I would most definitely purchase again and again and...you get the idea. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wish it would last longer. It's 5.05 fluid ounces, but only lasts a few months for me. Other dry shampoos I would rec are Oscar Blandi loose dry shampoo, Rene Furterer and Klorane loose dry shampoo.

For reference, I have brown-black hair

Pro:
- hair looks less oily

Con:
-hair becomes frizzy and chalky looking
- does not eliminate odour, in fact massaging the product spreads the odour from the scalp to the whole hair so it smells like unwashed hair and fragrance ew.
- hair feels uncomfortable, not refreshed

everytime I get annoyed by how dirty my hair feels but can't wash it, I use this but always regret it, and it makes me even more tempted to wash my hair. Its has its pros but its not perfect. I might try the TRESemmé dry shampoo next despite its bad reviews.

I much prefer plain old Pssst to this. Even though this is for brunettes, it left more of a white cast than I have to deal with using the Pssst. And the smell is not nearly as pleasant and fresh as Pssst.

This does get rid of oil and gives me nice volume. It's better than the original one at doing these things. I don't like the smell of the original one, but this is definitely not a good one either. It smells kinda heavy powdery. Not overly sweet, but just heavy, and the smell lingers for quite some time. This is why I'm not going to repurchase.
I have no problem with white residue - I just simply brush it out. As the rest of the Batiste dry shampoos this leaves my hair matte, although I really have very shiny hair, but that doesn't bother me much - it's better than oily hair.
Only thing that saves this from 3 lippies is that it actually keeps my hair not oily for quite a long time; I won't need to apply it again for at least 12 hours.

Not bad at all! It's definitely not my favourite dry shampoo but it makes the grade to keep in my stash. I like it because many dry shampoos can leave white deposits or streaks that don't brush or rub out easily, whereas this brunette formula conceals well (although it is more of an dark ashy-grey than a true brown). I don't find it as effective as Klorane or Ojon, but Batiste Brunette does a decent job of disguising oiliness for at least a solid day, sometimes two if I want to push it. Unlike other Batiste Dry Shampoos, the smell of this product is very subtle. I'll definitely repurchase!

I find that the Batiste dry shampoos all work very well. Give volume and soak up the oil. This was my fave of all the ones I have tried, until I found Got2b Rockin it. I actually don't mind the smell of this one... all the other batiste I find are too sweet smelling. This one just has a neutral sorta warm smell. Will repurchase to alternate with the Got2b until I find my HG

I love this as my fringe always gets greasy much quicker than the rest of my hair, so a quick spray of this makes all the difference :) Cheap as well - although it does run out fast (I prefer to spray in short bursts, and this seems to help it last a little longer).
Only complaint is that the colour isn't really 'Brunette'. If you spray a little on the back of your hand and wait a minute, you'll see that it's more of a dark greyish colour. It's still a big improvement on the original but because my hair is auburn it still leaves a slight ashy cast to my hair.

Like that its got a hint of colour to it and how it feels on my hair. Compared to other dry shampoos like Klorane and Lee Stafford this is not as 'powdery'. Instead I can really sense how it cleanses my roots with a more 'wet' formula.

However good it felt when I applied it it still didn't help me. The scent was really strong and my roots didn't feel clean at all. The hint of colour didn't help as my roots ended up with a grey powdery finish :(

My hair gets greasy the day after washing which is annoying! This dry shampoo is fab-I can get a couple more days out of my hair and the product adds a bit of volume to it too which is a bonus. The Brunette formula is a good match for my hair as you don't get the talc-like deposits you can get with other dry shampoos. I took a lippy off because although this stuff is not expensive, it gets used up really quickly, so you don't get lots of uses. I therefore don't use it lots, but it's great for times you may not have time to wash your hair or can't be bothered!

How I use this product: On the second day I spray this at greasy looking spots near my roots, leave it there for a few minutes while I do my makeup, and then brush it out by wiggling/massaging my roots with the teeth.
Alternatively you can use this at the end of the first day (before you sleep) to prevent your hair from getting greasy, instead of using it to remove the oiliness.

* PROS
- My hair definitely looked and felt a lot less greasy and more presentable. Of course it's not the same as actually washing your hair with shampoo, but this helps preserve my styled hair for another day.
- LOVE how this matches my hair colour. I tried the regular one before and it left me with white-grey roots. You can brush it out but it looks awful if you miss a spot.
- Not quite sure if this helped achieve any volume. I mean it probably did slightly, but certainly you're not going to get the same amount of volume as with styling or backcombing. It's barely noticeable, if any.

* CONS
- Batiste is cheaper than Klorane and all those other dry shampoo brands. But IMO, it is still expensive for the tiny amount of product you get! Plus this gets used up pretty fast. Regular shampoo is nowhere near as expensive!
- The aerosol sprays out very forcefully and the area is quite concentrated. Be sure to hold it a good distance away from your head and avoid your face!
- There is a 'I have product in my hair' feeling afterwards, but it doesn't bother me since I have hairspray in my hair every day anyway.
- EDIT: After using this for a bit longer, it leaves white flaky residue even AFTER I wash my hair, which could be mistaken for dandruff.
