I have this quad in Smoky Night and using it all together (using the web's directions), it all looked like one color. However, using all of these together I decided to maybe try them separately. By using Maybelline's 24hr Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Pink, Paint Me Purple, Tenacious Teal and Audacious Asphalt, I have found a smoky-eye heaven!! Now that I am reading the rest of the reviews, I found that Smoky Night is actually one of the worst quads so I will try out Sapphire Siren because even though this quad didn't look great, it felt real nice and it doesn't crease in my smoky eye experiments (LOL). Incase interested, here is my directions to do the smoky-eye with the Smoky Night quad:
1) Choose one of the four colors in Maybelline's 24hr Color Tattoo Cream Shadow: (Pomegranate Pink, Paint Me Purple, Tenacious Teal or Audacious Asphalt) and place all on the lid with your finger, blending outwards
2) using a brush, apply the matching shade in the quad (Pink with pink, Purple with purple, Teal with blue, Asphalt with black) to the outer corner of your lid
3) blend into the crease, these shadows are VERY pigmented so use the shadow sparingly, also blend along the upper lash line
4) apply black pencil eyeliner and using brush blend the liner into the shadow
5) apply mascara
Once you have some practice, you can create the easiest smoky eye of your life in five minutes!!

Got this in Mad For Mauve and this definitely doesn't work on my skin color. No matter how much I applied to my lids, the color just didn't stand out and the moss green color looked so shabby. The packaging is quite bad and likely to be so badly scratched even though I keep it in my soft box.

Got this in Sapphire Siren and I absolutely adore the color. Nice pigmentation but like another MUAer mentioned, the packaging is vulnerable to breakage so you gotta be careful. I don't use the applicators it comes with but with my own eye makeup brushes to get the best of it. They last quite a while but I always use eyeshadow with UD's primer potion so I'm good in all-day wear. Nice vibrant colors, thank you Maybelline.

How and why I've lived without these shadows for so long is beyond me. My husband recently bought Smokey Night for me on a recent trip to Wal-Mart since I loved the tutorial emilynoel83 did on it. I'd also been wanting to try these quads anyway, and this was a good excuse. I actually wasn't very impressed with Smokey Night. It seemed to fade. Still, curiosity was killing me because I'd always loved the color selections from this line. So I got on Ulta.com one night and they were having a buy two get one free of Maybelline products so I ordered all of these along with the Color Explosion line. I've used not even half of them and I am in love. All of the quads are incredibly pigmented and blendable. The other thing I've been super impressed with is the colors, they don't always come out to be the colors they seem in the pan, but I've not been disappointed yet. For example, today I am wearing Legendary Lilac. In the pan, they look like a boring purple quad, the two first shades look like they are going to be so sheer that you will need tons of eyeliner to get any definition on your eye. NOT the case. They are all pigmented and this particular palette made my eyes look ethereal. I finished the look with Benefit's Hervana and L'Oreal's Color Riche Balm in Tender Mauve and LOVE the look. I don't think it's possible to be more impressed with these shadows.

AWESOME Pigmentation, stays on all day even without primer, great colour range.
However, the lid comes off too easy (i have 4 of these and 2 of them are broken)
Other than that, Well done Maybelline!

I am new to the whole eye shadow thing, I have always used just one one color on my lids, but want to try to learn how to do the whole dramatic look. I bought 3 shadow sets today, this was one of them, I got this one in Taupe Temptress, its the most beautiful palette ever, BUT (and like I said I am new at this) but I used all 4 colors, no it doesn't look good but like I said I am new at this I have no idea what I am doing, so I am sure it looking like crap is my fault. However I don't even see these, I kept putting it on and putting it on yet I look like I hardly have anything on, I look almost bare. WHERE IS THE COLOR???? I only see a little bit of the darker shade and seriously its only a little. Very disappointed, but then again it might not be this make up, I am just a sorry excuse for a girl when it comes to doing makeup.

I have a mixed feeling about this product! I bought one of these palettes [copper chic] three years ago and I absolutely loved it. The pigmentation was amazing and it went on smoothly and there was barely any fallout. I then started to work at Ulta summer 2011 and I bought 2 more because I remembered how much I loved them! The new ones were the biggest disappointment ever!! I think Maybelline changed their formula or something. The new ones had chunky glitter, a ton of fallout and it would mess up my contacts when it got in my eyes! I just threw them away after that and I will never buy them again until Maybelline adjusts the formula.

I love these eyeshadow quads so much that I bought every single one Maybelline makes. I taped little labels on the ends so I could easily find the one I wanted, and I want them frequently. I used to use Revlon's shadow quads, but Maybelline is my new favorite. The texture is smooth with excellent pigmentation and staying power. They last all day without a single touch-up and the color doesn't fade at all. Because the shadow applies so smoothly, you can control how much color you want to apply. Sometimes I only want a hint of it, and others I am going for dramatic color. They all have a bit of shimmer, but are suitable for both day and night. The color combinations are great, but I don't always stay within one set - I like to mix and match. They blend beautifully and even work very well as eyeliner. They don't flake or "shed" down on the rest of your face, which is a common problem with drugstore brands. Other reviews have criticized the packaging, but I like it and have never had a problem with it. I think the chevron design is aesthetically appealing and inspires the artist in me. The bottom line - these are my favorite eyeshadows, bar none, and I'll be the first to buy any new shades Maybelline makes!

The pigmentation in these quads is great.
The packaging STINKS!
In the store I broke the clear plastic lid off. Then at home I did the same. Maybeline has awful packaging in general. I have their Cream shadow trio which also broke. The eyeshadow is the only reason I like these quads.

I've tried out two of these and they're such a fail. They can get clumpy, don't stay in place for too long and I just hate their color combinations. Blending isn't too fun, either.
I do agree the white that comes with a lot of them is quite good for high lighting but you can get much better quality white shadow to highlight.
They also feel very very heavy on my eyes and always feel kinda damp.
I would never buy again.

I only bought this because it was on sale and decided to give it a go. Wasn't very satisfied though, I have the brown/gold one and the colours just don't stay. the white eyeshadow was okay though to highlight the corners of your eyes but overall it's not a great product, and judging from the other reviews I probably won't try out the other colours.

Truly one of the worst eyeshadows I have ever used. I purchased this in two shades (gray and purple). They were both part of the Diamond series so they had a lot of shimmer. The eyeshadows were too soft and I also accidentally stuck my nail in the pan while opening the case. It's incredible that this has happened to so many people. The fallout was just insane, and there was zero staying power. Yesterday I swatched all the colors on my arm to take a photo. The colors were quite nice and vibrant. But, I got distracted for 5 minutes and then when I looked at my arm again, the white (highlighter) shade had disappeared completely, and the other 6 shades (3 from each palette) had faded to the EXACT SAME dirty gray color. All the color had disappeared, leaving each shadow with the same ugly base. Very odd product.

I was told I should try this from another member, and I am glad I did. The colors are beautiful. I am a big fan of shimmer and these are definitely loaded with shimmer, so be careful if you don't like that. I don't use all of the colors together, I use most of these as a wash on my lid, and a matte for a highlight. I wouldn't buy this again only for the reason that I have so many eye shadows, It would take me a long time to actually finish this.

Not bad, Maybelline, but not great. Usually not a fan of their products, but this caught my attention when I found it in my mom's makeup bag (she had the Purple Icon palette). The colors are really really pretty and shimmery, which I love for nighttime eyeshadows.
The first time I put it on I was not too impressed. The colors were nice, but nothing special and they came off quickly.
HOWEVER the next time I used the palette I did two things differently. First, I used MAC's prep+prime eye primer and second I wet the applicator with a little water. THE WATER MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE. The colors came out pigmented and goreeeegous the second time around. I first put the shimmery pearly white that's on the left side of the palette all over my lid and browbone and I was quite impressed with how glamorous it looked. I followed with the other colors and they looked very pretty, glam and very purple :)
After wearing them for a day though, I found that the pretty colors didn't have that much staying power. I noticed glitter all over my cheeks and nose that must have fallen out from the eyeshadow. This isn't great eyeshadow, but I can see myself wearing it on a night out, where by the end of the night I won't care what my makeup looks like, haha.
If you want a good eyeshadow palette for a cheap cheap price, try Wet N Wild Color Icon Trio. Cheaper price and better than this :)

I wasn't going to buy this originally, but with Maybelline being 50% off at my Ulta and the coupon I had, I'd basically be able to get something free along with this. Mine's in Copper Chic.
The colors are very pigmented. You barely need any on your brush for it to show up. They shimmery, but they do look very silky as opposed to just glitter. I had the slightest little crease on my eye at the end of the day, but the colors were still showing up vibrantly, and hadn't run together. Honestly, they are very good eyeshadows. I feel like I'll be wearing them a lot.
Only two cons here (combined = minus one lippie: the price and the packaging
These cost about $10 each, which is what took me a long time to want to buy it in the first place. It's good, but I really wish it was cheaper. If that were the case, I'd probably buy more shades. And for the $10, the packaging is pretty lousy. It's hard to open. The first time I opened it, it would barely budge. When I finally got it, the one side of the lid popped off and my nail made a dent in the highlight color. I wish these had a bit better packaging and a cheaper price, but overall I'm very pleased with my purchase :)

disappointed.
i own a quad in Copper Chic and another in Taupe Temptress. first off i paid 8$ each quad. for Maybelline eyeshadow? it was a bit pricey but got it nonetheless. i wanted to try the beautiful pigmented colors i had seen in all my mag ads. the golden brown colors in Copper Chic are nice, smooth and subtle. the quad in Taupe Temptress i did not like at all. for dark colors they were extremely sheer. both quads are extremely shimmery. the color does not wear very long. primer help's this a bit but the eyeshadow still fades quickly. the double sided applicator was pretty neat. one side is a regular sponge tip the other is a pointy sponge tip. which makes the application more precise. overall out of the 8 shadows in these 2 quads i only liked 2 shades out of the copper chic. not really worth my 16$.

Maybelline's products have always been okay, but since found this eyeshadow, I knew I was a believer in their products. The colors are beautiful and plush, and they make my eyes REALLY stand out in the crowd. Although there were a few defects. First off, the color rubbed off a little, even after I used primer for my eyes. Since the colors are vibrant and very saturated, it's hard to clean them off your fingers. But I would buy this product again because I love the different shades!

I purchased this one in give me gold, i never been a maybelline fan, I always their product is just so-so, and a lot of their stuff breaks me out. But with this quad, I've changed my mind. This is perfect for my eyes. I have asian eyes and the shimmer really makes my eye stand out. I love the silky texture, how smooth it is and also the pigmentation. A lot of western eyeshadow I bought, if it's matte it makes my eyes look old and chalky, if its shimmery it kinda make my eyes look old and show the pore around my eye( even in normal they're very small) but I found it different when it comes to Japanese eyeshadows, they're sheer so they dont make my eyes look chalky or cakey. And this Maybelline quad is the closet eyeshadow I can find in drugstores in Canada what I'm looking for. I'm gonna go back to buy the other color but this combination is perfect for me.

I purchased this with a look for summer but it got tossed to the back of the vanity and while cleaning one day it appeared. Glad it did! This is on of my favorite eye shadows that I have. The colors last all day and do not crease in my 46 year old eyes. I have the sunset colors. I hope they keep making these, compared to some EL, Clinque shadows they made my eye itch these did not. Surprise to me a drugstore brand. My go to eye shadow! Would recommend
