I was using the highlight as foundation due to it being only slightly darker than my natural skin tone. However, the staying power was terrible and it came off within minutes.
I've never tried the contour, but the patchy application of the highlighter makes me not want to

This review is for the contour. For me the highlight was total waste.Just did not show up at all on my NC35 skin. The contour was another story. Its very dark. When I first applied it,I thought it was a waste same as highlight. But I soon figured out how to work with the contour and believe me I don't use anything else. Its the best. The trick is in the technique.I pump one DROP of product on the back of my hand.I dip my finger in the product and put two small dots on each side of face where I want to place the contour and blend with finger .the trick is to work fast.It may get few trial but you will get it.the color is just perfect. It has that grey -taupey undertones which make it perfect for creating those shadows on face.I love it.I am trying to find similar color in powder form but still looking.

I purchased this online seperate from the contouring shade and i must say i was disappointed. This highlight went ashy grey on my nc30 skin tone. It did not blend well at all. Consistancy was smooth and creamy and the pump packaging was a plus, it was just the actual product that was lacking. A cheap fantastic highlighter is available from elf that is amazing and costs a dollar. Id buy that first ladies. In this case cheap wins over expensive garbage any day

Purchased both of these during the $1 sale. The packaging on both is great. Nice pumps with lids that stay on until you're ready to pop them off.
Highlight was awesome. I LOVE that there's no glitter/shiny junk in it. Great for oily gals and large pore ladies. I highly recommend it! You only need a tiny bit, so I can see the $15 bottle lasting for a very long time.
Contour was... confusing. Why is it so dark? I realize a contouring color should be dark, but this... was like melted chocolate dark. I'm sure this might work out for other skin tones, but if NYX is only going to make contour in one shade, you'd think they'd make it a bit lighter, so it can work with multiple skin tones. Since I have no reason to keep this product I am contemplating washing and sanitizing this bottle out and using it for my ColorStay, as I really do like the packaging.
Three lippies overall, because the highlight is AWESOME, but the contour is just a waste of money.

Like most others, i bought this on the NYX $1 sale. I do like the highlighter but it's only just okay. It is not shimmery or too sparkly, but gives a nice glow. I'm not sure how to use these products either, but I use these after applying my liquid foundation (dont know if this method works if you use powder). It is VERY pigmented so a little, VERY LITTLE, way less than you'll expect little, will go a looong way. I use it to highlight my nose bridge and cheekbones and it does give you a glowy/dewy effect and i admit it's pretty. However, i only give 3 lippies because too much of the product and it will cake. You'll need to spend a lot of time contouring and blending it out to make it look just right/natural. Also, I dont think $17 for the original price is worth it.
The contour does not work for me! It is TOO DARK and ashy for my fair-medium w/ yellow undertones Asian skin. I used to joke with my lil sister saying she could use the contour for her Oprah Winfrey getup she needed for a class presentation. (I'm not trying to be disrespectful, but trying to give you an idea on just how dark it showed up on me. We both respect her and her works, why else would we choose to do a presentation on Oprah?) Still, it works okay if use a tiny amount for a large area for sculpting. For a dollar's worth, these aren't bad.
I probably wont buy this again bcuz I dont use it much and it will last a long time for me. Plus, will only get it again for $1.

I bought the highlighter only during the nyx $1 and i think its pretty good just because the highligher has a matte finish and its not shimmery at all! which i really like. it gives a pretty good glow to the face..but it can be better. i like it better than some other highlighters. it does has a nice finish and good staying power. Also, you only need a little bit..it goes a long way.
the original price is $17 of nyxcosmetics.com
$15 on cherryculture.com

I just got the Highlight in the mail. The consistency is a little thick and creamy. I heard it is the same formula as the Makeup foundation, but in a lighter shade. I put it on my hand and it blends really well when i have no lotion on, but i tried it on my face when i had moisturizer on and it started caking. I'm not very sure how to use this..before or after foundation? I need some help with this, if anyone knows of a good way to apply, please let me know! Thanks!

I wouldn't have tried this product if it wasn't on sale for $1 each bottle. But now I'm really glad that I did. They are really pigmented, so the wearer needs to be pretty careful. I thin it out with a little bit of aloe vera, then swipe it on the right areas of my face with two different foundation brushes. It looks gorgeous! I kept worrying that the taupe color would be too grey, but on my medium-light Asian skin, it looks fantastic. This is a great beginner's kit to contouring, I highly recommend.
However, I do think that it is a bit pricey when it's not on sale, and the bottle is deceptive, you don't actually get that much. However a little goes a long way, still a fantastic product.

I couldn't understand why there were no reviews for this yet.
I have the highlight and contour foundation and I like the highlight cream. I havn't totally used it yet..just opened it up and put some on my hands. They both seem to have good staying power. The Highlight foundation is matte (which I'm VERY happy about since too many highlighting creams, shawdows, foundations, etc...tend to be too shiney and I already have enough oily skin.
This set is mainly to sculpt your face before using powder and the rest of your makeup. I'm not quite sure if this highlight/contour is to be used as your basic "Foundation", or if it is to wear UNDER your foundation--I'm guessing it is to be weared as your basic foundation since putting foundation all over it may defeat the purpose of hiding your hard "contouring" work. ;)
So I will update after I use it on my face.
The package is nice..the size is generally the size of a normal Foundation bottle. I love that the highlighting cream will most likely last me much more longer then the contouring cream. the contouring cream tends to look a bit too dark for me..but I don't mind since i won't have to use hardly any bronzer, and I always use fake bake self tanner on my body too, so this will match. I do believe blending and patience will be key to having to acheive a perfect contouring look. :) The price is ok...$17.00 per bottle..so I was hesitant at first (since i ordered it straight from their website). But overall, I like the way the texture is. Will update soon.
