Ok so I have very fickle hair. My roots tend to get oily while the rest of my highlighted hair is dry. I have tried expensive $20+ shampoos and cheaper drugstore shampoos. I've been on a hunt for the last year. At Sam's Club they had the shampoo and conditioner set for about $5. I thought I would try it since the kids needed new shampoo too. I wasn't expecting to like it at all. I was very surprised. This shampoo and conditioner is exactly what my hair needed. It doesn't weigh my hair down but makes it soft. It's a fabulous product especially for the price. I recommend it.

I generally use Wen, which I adore, but when my budget doesn't allow for Wen, I use this and the matching conditioner. Keep in mind I have a big stash of Redken, Biolage, and other expensive salon brands, but I still go for this when I'm not using Wen. If you check the ingredients list, the good stuff, like Almond oil, Shea butter, and tons of plant extracts and vitamins start right near the beginning, which is very impressive. I can't say the same for most Suave shampoos, but for some of this Suave Professionals line, (I think that's the name of this line, but don't quote me.) the ingredients are great. Also from this line, the Rosemary & Mint and the Aloe Vera & Ginseng have excellent ingredients, and are good shampoos/conditioners as well. The others I mentioned are for different hair types/needs, so check them out. This Almond & Shea butter one is for dry/damaged hair. Even if your hair isn't dry & damaged, you should try this. Often shampoos and conditioners designed for dry & damaged hair will give your hair the best moisturization and won't strip it as badly. All shampoos with sulfates strip your hair of vital oils, and color, but this is more gentle than many. This, along with the Almond & Shea condish, leaves my hair soft, silky, moisturized, and clean without feeling stripped. I get mine from Walmart, and the biggest size bottles are only $3, and come with a pump, which I prefer. (Until the bottle starts getting low, then pumps suck). You can't beat the price, but that's not why I use this. Just because my budget doesn't sometimes allow for Wen ($35 a bottle), doesn't mean I can't buy Paul Mitchell or use the Redken, Matrix Biolage and other salon brands that I already have. (I hoard when there's a sale is why I have a big stash) I genuinely love this! I can't believe I'm recommending a Suave shampoo & conditioner, cuz I'm a product snob, but I still won't deny when something's great, I don't care what brand it is! Well maybe I'm not such a product snob after all then lol, I just like high quality, which is more prominent in expensive brands. But that doesn't mean there aren't cheap/drugstore gems! You need this if you love a great shampoo/conditioner, whether you're on a budget or not!

I love this shampoo. First of all, you can't beat the price. I get the shampoo for around $2.50, much cheaper than other shampoos that don't work as well. I love how it moisturizes my hair and makes it shine. The ingredients are very natural and good for you. A great shampoo. I will continue to buy it

Love this shampoo. I have a really hard time finding a shampoo that doesn't leave my scalp feeling itchy, dry, and generally unpleasant. I avoided Suave products for a long time because I always found their shampoos stripped my scalp too much, but I decided to give this a try and I'm really glad I did. It cleansed my scalp and hair perfectly, smells fantastic, and has great natural ingredients. I would still be using it, but I started coloring my hair again and switched to the Suave Keratin Infusion line since it's better for color treated hair (and I love that too!).

Excellent formulation. Great ingredients (shea, almond oil). I have straight, color treated hair. This is a God-send. Super affordable and easily accessible. Make this FOREVER! H.G.

This is my HG shampoo. I often stray and try others, but I always come back to this. I have oily, fine hair with damaged ends and this leaves my hair shiny and smooth and not weighed down. Also can't beat the price.

When I heard about this product, I brought the conditioner first to do a co-wash and my hair felt really soft. After using it for a second time, I couldn't help but to buy the shampoo which was great also. It smells great and very inexpensive. I would recommend it to anyone. Great product.

When I purchased this shampoo, I thought it only worked for dry and damaged hair. My hair is oily so I avoid using moisturizing products. However, this shampoo did not make my hair dry or oily. It was a perfect balance. For the cheap price, I definitely recommend this product!^^

I will say i'm not a big fan of suave products this it the best suave conditioner I have used. The shampoo is terrible to me it dried my hair. The conditioner is actually really moisturizing to me and i would recommend people get that and don't get the shampoo.

This is by far my favorite shampoo and conditioner out of any that I've used over the 34 years I've been alive!!! It's cheap, easy to get and works beautifully. After using these together my hair is softer, shinier, frizz and tangle free. My fav hands down!

The first time I used this shampoo, I thought it was a great find. My hair felt soft and clean, and I liked the fragrance. But after I used it 3 or 4 times, my scalp began to feel itchy and my hair felt drier and drier. I also noticed a lot of suds left in the tub after shampooing, even though I only used a dime-sized amount ( my hair is fairly short). So my guess is that this shampoo is heavy on sulfates or some other kind of foaming agent that my scalp doesn't like. I've tossed it. I don't like to waste things, but I like a crazily itching scalp even less. As with all personal care products, YMMV.

It's pretty good for a drugstore shampoo but it still leaves my hair kind of dry and my ends tangled. Not expensive at all, so good for the price and better than the rest of suave's shampoos.

As a Wen by Chaz Dean only girl for close to 4 years, I really felt like I wanted to suds my head up and I knew I wasn't going to do this very often at all with how damaging all the chemicals they put in every shampoo are, cheap or expensive, especially Sulfates. Many women may not know this but it's the same ingredient in your laundry detergent. But that's besides the point. I sent my husband to Walmart & told him to get me suave. He called me and told me what kinds & came home with this huge bottle that cost under 2 bucks. So I expected it to di what most all shampoos do, leave my hair stiff, feeling gross & in a tangled mess & it did not! I was shocked. So I I took a full pump from my Wen gallon and put it in and clipped it up and just had to read the ingredients. I was very surprised at all the wonderful things put into this shampoo. Before Wen, I used to waste so much money trying every brand of salon shampoo & had to use all kinds of serums for frizz. Now I think I will use shampoo & Wen just as a conditioner cuz it's the best product ever invented & a little too expensive to be using 40 pumps a wash. And even after using shampoo & Wen, my hair was still bouncy, shiny & frizz free like it's been since I started using Wen. So Kudos to you Suave, you have yourself a wonderful product, pretty oackaging & smells wonderful!!!

Love this! I pretty much will use any shampoo and conditioner, but I noticed that Suave professional line, and especially this, was amazing on my hair!! It really helped tame the strays, keep the curl bouncy and added shine! Almost nothing seems to do that for me. And the price!! Wow!! Please note I have frizzy curly unruly hair, so maybe it won't work on every type. FYI, The only in the line that didn't work for me was the "Brilliant Brunette" knockoff. It made my hair amazingly silky, but greasy the next day, and I am NOT a daily washer. Otherwise, amazing job Suave!

Used this same exact shampoo last night. DID make my hair soft, though idk if amazingly. Though was making my scalp itchy and it felt dryer and flakier than normal. Though wouldnt totally blame that on the shampoo, my mom said Ive had dandruff since I was a baby and Ive also gotten the dry, flaky scalp from my Aussie and Dove too. I'd say all right for the moment, did make my hair soft and it doesnt look too bad :P though REALLY hope I dont get the hair loss other members mentioned, Im just growing my hair out again after going OCD with thinning it out, I dont have a lot to lose. Though no hair loss for now that Ive noticed. And also care to mention I got this shampoo because it was a buck and my sister uses it, which shes kind of obsessive with her hair and doesnt use a lot of shampoo varities that Ive noticed so I figured, might be a good shampoo. And I also got the conditioner.
Also smoothed out my top layers, which looked kind of thick yesterday before using it. And it did give my hair a bit of a bounce. But the itch and the dandruff, had to massage my entire head just now to try to get it out and its still itchy :/ havent had these effects with just this shampoo and cond. Though so I'll see how it works out.

i love this! it held my curls, and moisturized them, in conjunction with the conditioner. however, the improvement was not drastic, and i still had to use serums/oils to make my hair soft. it is dirt cheap though, and i might repurchase it, but only after trying a lot more shampoos/conditioners. i say try it, if your hair isnt as dry as mine, it will do you good

I have very dry hair that's prone to breakage due to being so brittle. I used this when it first came out and there was quite a bit of hype about it. It was moisturizing when used in conjunction with the conditioner, quite a bit more than others in this price range. However there was not a significant enough change nor improvment that would compell me to repurchase. I'd buy this again if it were on sale.

While I was excited to purchase and try this product (based on MUA reviews)...it just never performed the way I thought it would.

Now, please note that I have fine hair.

I really think that this was just too heavy of a shampoo for my particular hair texture.

Now, because I have fine hair, if I don't have the right products, my hair just sits there, lifeless and limp.

This made my hair very dense, and I couldn't go more than 24 hours between washes. Consequently, because it made my hair shaft so heavy, it always looked greasy. When my hair required frequent rewashing...that would exacerbate the oil production even more.

It was a vicious cycle. I wanted to love this product...but it just didn't work out for me.
