sigh just found iton ebay..itsmore than $30 each
my shade is classic ivory, cuz im pale and I hate anything pink or peach(orange) I also hate yellow but what can I do when neutral =peach which is worse...
soft ivory =peach undertones (neutral)
natural ivory =pink
classic =warm, yellow = mine good
pale = pinky! ugh
best makeup ever! goes on flawlessly with instant coverage with a tiny bit on your finger..no need to go back and "double up" anywhere like you missed a spot or need extra coverage somewhere!
instantly tightens up pores great for oily skin.
i love it! but at $30 each.. sigh
lancome (same company as L'oreal) OLD FORMULA teint idole was awesome too... the new teint idole ultra doesnt compare IMO
I hate makeup companies for "new and improved" formulas which suck and leave thousands of women on the hunt for years buying like 30 different foundations never satisfied... paying outrageous prices for old makeup on ebay that is expired! hahaha....
that is my life since 2005

Mattique Liquid Foundation. I loved this makeup. It had great coverage and was perfect for those of us who get oily through the day. I tend to have dry sensitive skin but this was a great foundation. It never irritated my sensitive skin and covered perfectly.
I found a few bottles at an old country pharmacy but I believe it is discontinued. Boo Hoo. I wish L'Oreal would bring it back. The shades were great too. The shade I recently found is very light but perfect for under the eye area and especially to cover red spots. It is the best makeup for the money. I plan to use it as a concealor to make it last while I search for a replacement for this HG.
If you are desperate and looking for something similar you could try DoubleWear by Estee Lauder or Revlon Colorstay or Magique Matte. Of course these are all owned by the same company or maybe it is competeting companies. Revlon and EL are one company while Lancome and Loreal the other. I am not sure. They each have their good, bad, ugly opinions. I truly think this was the better makeup for the money and quality.

I have nothing too original to say about this one, but I like it so much that I wanted to chime in. I think it's gone for ever unfortunately. Why do they always stop making the best products? The finish of this was so good! It was great for coverage and shine control. My face never felt like a grease pit when I used it, and that's rare for me with most foundations. I still have an old bottle around. I know the rule about throwing out old makeup, but I just can't let go. :-(

I've used this product for years and it's been great. I'm having a hard time finding it anywere so I think it might be discontinued. I have combination, slighty acne-prone, and extremely sensitive skin. This matte finish lasts through most of the day, however I use Almay Clear Complexion compact powder over it and touch up with that during the day. People have complained about the glass bottle, but in all these years, i've never broken one. My skin is changing a bit since I turned 30, so I'm looking for something that doesn't show fine lines as much after 6 hours of wear.

I think they no longer carry this product but it was excellent for oily skin and blended beautifully. Even better than my Revlon ColorStay. Plus there were nice shade selections.

Have they discontinued this? I can't find it anymore at the store. I'm sad about it because I used this foundation for years ... and got compliments all the time about how great my skin looked. I'm not a heavy foundation user (I have pretty good skin as it is) but I like something to knock off the shine and even out my skin tone, especially around my eyes. And I HATE makeup mask. This product has always been perfect for me, coverage not too heavy or too light, and kept my shine mostly at bay. If this is gone, I am in mourning ...

This foundation is definitely for the very oily skinned, not even normal, the consistency and texture is way too dry. I like this makeup for very hot days and or times when I need my foundation to go from day to night. The only real thing that bugs me about this is that it is so dang hard to blend and apply, due to the matte/very dry texture. It does seem to set and dry very quickly, I would say this is med. coverage, depending how much you use. A good makeup, but I don't know if I will buy this again.

This is one of the best foundations I have tried, not HG material just because it isnt a perfect color match and doesnt cover all of my imperfections, but when I apply a powder ontop it looks flawless. What I love about this foundation is that it controld my oil for 8+ hours. Its so great and its because of the magnesium aluminum silicate at the top of the list of ingredients. Great for controlling oil. I dont get enough coverage and it doeasnt look as flawless if I dont apply a thin layer of Mac Sudio Fix over it, so thats what I do. This is the first foundation that has controlled my oil so well and I am looking into trying it's twin, Lancome Maquicontrole! Other foundations with similar ingredients that I am excited to try will help control oil are: Makeup Forever Oil-Free Foundation, Lola Cream Foundation, and Becca Loose Powder. All of these foundations contain the same ingredient that this foundation does to control oil for so long.

I have extremely oily skin and have been back and forth between all brands of foundations from very expensive to very cheap drugstore brands. I have tried Prescriptives, Lancome, Estee Lauder (Double Wear and Double Matte), MAC, and the list goes on and on. I then went to this brand as my last resort as I basically am giving up on the expensive stuff. I have found this is the best foundation I have found so far - It does go on Matte which is a very good thing, but , just like the others, it does not keep my oily skin under control. Within a few hours, I am oily again. I can't hold that against this product however, because even the other brands I mention have this problem as well.I am sticking to this product. I however, have yet to find a foundation that keeps the oilies at bay all day!!

I've used this product on my combo/oily, acne-prone skin for almost 8 months now. I'm very pale with blue/pink undertones and the color choices for me are considerably better than most drugstore foundations. This product has not broken me out. I wear Pale and the coverage level is medium, I love that I can use the foundation with a concealer brush instead of having to use a separate concealer (which might not match). I do have to blot after a while, but I have yet to find ANYTHING that prevents my oilyness so I don't hold it against the product. I love that the bottle is glass (I'm concerned about chemicals from plastic bottles being absorbed into a product). Adding a pump would be ideal, but the wide mouth on the bottle isn't too bad. I'm happy that there's no sunscreen, it reduces the possibility of changing the effectiveness of my actual sunscreen (Epicuren Zinc SPF 20). It's not HG status, but my skin is incredibly hard to match and this is the best option for me. I have repurchased already. Update: I've stopped using this since I learned that L'Oreal still conducts animal testing. I switched to a Revlon product and find that the color match is better.

I wear this in Soft Ivory, which is a perfect match for my acne-prone, normal-oily PPP skin. I was really bummed when Lancome discontinued Maquicontrole foundation in Porcelain Delicate I, but I actually like this foundation even better (more lightweight)...AND it costs 1/4 what Maquicontrole costs! I purchased it from drugstore.com as I could not find it in the drugstores where I live. I really hope this foundation isn't being discontinued. It's also fragrance free and has no comedogenic ingredients. I wear it with Lancome Effacernes concealer in Porcelain. LOVE this foundation!

This product was way too thick and didn't blend AT ALL. It dried as I was trying to blend it and it made little foundation balls around my chin line. It was horrible. I couldn't get it to blend into my neck so even though the color on my faec matched it was so caked on my neck that it looked way too dark there. I tried using a damp sponge and that just made it look streaky. The only reason I gave it a 2 is because I've been blending it with Revlon colorstay to get the color I need cause the Revlon is a bit too yellow. Once I find the revlon thats right for me I'm never touching the mattique again.

I'd purchased this once before in Soft Ivory, and while I am normally the lightest shade in the spectrum I found that this shade was entirely TOO light...I looked like a corpse! I returned it and got Nude Beige, which is a much better color for my PPP, cool-toned skin....at least, I didn't look dead. :)
First of all, I don't mind the wide-mouthed bottle. I would like it if it were made of plastic, but it isn't, so oh well. As far as germs go....well....the world has germs in it and you have to be totally fooling yourself if you think that you won't get germs or bacteria inside a bottle with a pump or in a squeeze bottle. You touch the foundation with your skin, right? Some of that foundation goes back in the bottle, no matter what kind you are using. You just simply open the product, and it is contaminated. I think we get entirely too worked up about things like this. Anyway...I found that I can apply this with my fingers, but it goes on heavier that way....I preferred using a sponge triangle wedge instead for a much lighter application. The foundation went on evenly, for me, and I found that even a thin layer provided medium coverage. It did cake just a bit in my smile lines, but not too badly. I finished it off with a dusting of white rice powder, and I was happy...I appeared suitably matte and my face looked nice and smooth.
After a few hours (where the most strenuous thing I did was eat supper) I decided to check my face. OMG. I was turning into a grease pit! The makeup was starting to look gloopy and cakey and on my nose, it had melted off....other than where it had settled into the pores on my nose. Lovely. Now I had a shiny, polka-dotted nose. I blotted as best I could, and did a quick touch-up job with the foundation and powder. It stayed for about another hour....then it was back to melting nose. By the time I got home (about 8 hours after the original application) my face looked like it was melting away. The foundation was cakey and greasy and I could not WAIT to wash it off. Seeing as how this is only April and the temperatures and/or humidity are marginal compared to what summer will be like, I can't see using this again. Bleah.

I picked this foundation after my falling out with Revlon's Age Defying Light Makeup. I wanted a medium coverage matte foundation that would keep my oily skin from becoming super shiny, so I bought this based on the reviews. I absolutely love it!!! This very well may be my HG. Soft Ivory is a perfect match for my skin, and it leaves a really beautiful porcelain finish. When I go out or want to look very polished during the day, I use this and Estee Lauder's Maximum Cover Camouflage foundation as a concealer. Although I still have to blot, the oil is nothing like it was compared to the Revlon foundation.
I suggest this only be used by those with super oily skin because the finish is very matte. Those with dry skin will probably hate this.
My only complaint is that I wish it either had a pump or came in a tube. I hate putting my fingers on the opening of the jar.
UPDATE: I've knocked this down quite a few lippies. It doesn't even come close to my HG Shiseido SPF 42 foundation. L'Oreal Mattique only worked well for me when I applied it with a wet sponge, and even then it was mediocre at best. Save your money and get the Shiseido- you won't be sorry!

I like most of Loreal products. This is one of them. If you have oily skin and your foundation easily fades away, you should try this. This product does not cause any acne and does not irritate the skin.

Ths is my daily foundation. It's the best match for my PPP skin I've found yet. It's inexpensive, long-lasting, looks natural, and won't break you out. If you wear moisturizer or SPF underneath, as I do, make sure you let it dry first or this makeup will streak.

After wearing this foundation for a week, I'm pretty happy with it. The best thing: I have found the best color match for my skin (Soft Ivory). And it's oil-free--yay! I normally have oily, greasy, yuck, BLECH skin, and I've noticed a HUGE improvement in the number of Clean and Clear oil-mopping papers I use each day (down to two a day instead of 8 or 9). In fact, I think this would be my HG foundation if it only offered more coverage. I've been pairing it with the Physicans Formula green cube concealer, and that helps some, but I have several bruised-looking spots on my face that still show a great deal. My other gripe: there's no sunscreen. That said, I will continue purchasing this foundation because so far, it's the best thing I've tried.

This is the first foundation I ever started using. I really like it, but the packaging is a little to be desired. If they had a pump for more sanitary application I would like this better and purchase this foundation more frequently. I have very oily skin and this foundation is great at keeping my skin without that oily look. I saw another review comparing this to Lancôme's Maquicontrôle and this is true. I have used both foundations and I have found no difference other than fragrance and price.

I am very fair and also have very oily skin, so this is a good foundation for me. This foundation has never broken out my skin, I like it as much as Lancome's Maquicontrol. The only problem is it does not have an spf, so I wear an oil free moisturizer with an spf under it. I would certainly repurchase.
