Showstopper and I don't get along very well, but it did teach me a very important color lesson. My NW20 skin, almost black hair, brown eyes (with dark under eye circles) can NOT wear red based browns. I need to stick with honey based browns. This color always made me look like I had been on an all night bender. So yes, thanks to Showstopper I now know what to buy and what not to buy. I even passed on a recent quad because this was one of the colors even though I would have loved the other three. It is a very deep red based brown (matte). It isn't a bad color for those that can use it, but on me, it is a very, very bad color.

This color came in a quad I bought a few years ago. I use every day for my brows! Also use to smudge in corners of outer eye for smoky dramatic look. Otherwise not easy to blend at all but absolutely the best brow color ever! Will continue to use as I have for years!

Purchased at a CCO for $10, originally $14.50
Purchased to use as a crease color, bad idea
Doesn't blend well in the crease at all
HOWEVER, I use it almost everday to line my lower lash line with angled brush
Not too dark, not too light

I didn't purchase this eyeshadow to use for my brows but that is what it has become! I apply it with the 212 brush and it matches my natural eyebrow color almost perfectly. Sometimes I also out it in the outer corner or crease of my eye when I do a smokey brown look and it looks good. WIll definately continue to purchase

Best Brow filler ever if you are a WOC/Olive with strong yellow undertones, dark brunette. Perfect brows every time with this & a small angled brush. Brow gel 2 set & I'm good to go! I've hit pan & will def repurchase when it's gone because I use Showstopper almost every day.

I kind of forgot I had this until I cleaned out my eyeshadow collection. Started wearing it again and remember how much I really like this shadow colour, even slightly more love for it then my go to dark brown Brun. Looks great in the crease to darken up any look instantly. Even better as an all over lid colour for a quick smokey eye. Pigmentation is rich, but I find I have to work a little harder to blend it out.

I got Showstopper specifically for my brow color. I have black hair with medium skin with yellow undertones. I usually use Mysterious eyeshadow but the there's too much red in it and I notice it alot when I'm taking pictures. I have been on a search for a black brown without the undertones. Although I can't use Showstopper alone it's the closest dark brown I combine with Carbon for my perfect brow color. I do also use Quite Natural paintpot as a base because I have very oily skin and will not last as long without it.

When I spotted this color, I thought that it would be the perfect crease/outer V color for me when I do more dramatic neutral looks. In the pan, it looks like a very dark brown with purple undertones. Sadly, once I apply it, it looks like a regular dark brown, regardless of which base and other colors I use with it. It doesn't blend out as well as I'd like it to, either.
EDIT: I definitely underestimated this eyeshadow at first. I still don't like it as a crease color, but it is the BEST lower lid color for a smokey eye, and I use it every single day as eyeliner on my top lashline (and sometimes on my lower lashline). It looks much truer to the beautiful color in the pan on my lid that it does in my crease. This is a shadow that I will have no problem using up, and when I do run out, I will pick it up again if it happens to show up in another collection. I love it!

This is THE perfect brow shade for those with dark brown hair. I used Brun prior to Showstopper, and although it was good for its ashy brown tones, it had just a tad too much gray and looked slightly off against my yellow undertones. Showstopper, on the other hand, is the perfect dark, ashy brown. Not too warm, not too dark or light, no strange tones. The best brow shade I have found.

I love this color. I love it a lot. I've seen it used as a eyebrow color (although I find it too dark for me). With this color you can create killer brown dramatic smokey eyes or even bedroom eyes. You can even turn it into an eyeliner (just use visine to turn it into a little paste). It's just such a versatile color. Although I hear Brun is a color very similar to it and it is limited edition although it has come out more than once. Again, love this color! (MAC NC42/43).

I don't use this as an eyeshadow, but use it to darken my eyebrows. I'm asian with sparse eyebrows and I use this little gem to fill out my eyebrows and darken it to make them pop! Best eyebrow darkener EVER!

My new favorite shadow. It is similar to Brun, but is not the same. Brun has more gray under tone, but this is a slight purplish color. Both are brown, but this one is more brown. Really dark, but softer than black. Even if it is matte, it is blendable. My eyes look super green with it. Really pigmented. Too bad it is LE.

Love it!! I bought this to use as a brow colour. Deep matte brown with no strange purple, red or orange undertones on my skin. A perfect choice if you have black hair. Looks far more natural than using Carbon. Highly recommended!

Totally surprised at how few reviews there are for this *gem*.
I have this from it's original release in the Diana Eyes 2 quad and this is quite possibly the perfect brown for my complexion and brown eyes. It's a rich chocolate brown that is mostly neutral .. not overly warm nor overly cool toned and I detect zero red tones to this which makes it the perfect crease shade that I can pair with just about anything .. soft pinks, peaches, light greens, looks amazing of course with neutrals and works equally well with gold shades. Applies smoothly and with rich pigmentation, blends wonderfully and wears well. Can't rave enough about this shade! It looks so-so in the palette, but really comes to life upon application.

Dont waste your money. It's Brun with a different name. It is not nearly as pretty as what the website says. Save your cash if you have Handwritten or Brun or both.

I originally had this shade in the Royal Assets Warm Eyes palette from a couple of years back and I used it up. I was so glad to be able to buy it as a single in the All Ages, All Races, All Sexes collection. It’s a very dark brown with no orange tendencies and a perfect liner. Sure, it’s not the most exciting colour, but I used it all up from that palette and never found anything I liked as much so I know I’ll use this.
If you like to smudge your liner or smoke it out a lot then this might not be the best for you because it’s not the most blendable formula. That’s the trade off for adhesion though and this gives me no fallout troubles (I use a 208) and lasts all day. It works great wet or dry.

I always think MAC over-does it with warm toned browns. I only own one and me being the platinum, olive toned nc35 that i am , I really dont need many warm colors, i feel that cool toned colors look way better.
I'm guessing it's harder to make cool toned browns because I never seem to find a brown that does NOT have red in it! It's a freaking mission. Anything with red makes me look swollen and tired, which is why I treasure a good brown. I treasure Showstopper. Probably the coolest brown MAC has, making it like the brown sister of shadowy ladi; on me it's a nice dark brown with a tiny purple tinge. It's one of those that looks brown whne you first see it but if you put it next to a bunch of other browns, it looks purple, you get me? I also like using it in my eyebrows since anythign with red makes them look, obviously, colored in, and im a cool-toned anything love (secret: i actually use Shadowy lady on my brows sometimes).
I picked this up with the All Ages, All Races, All Sexes after I missed out on it from Smoke Signals (it first came out with Liza PM quads) and couldnt be happier.
Matte formula, not the most blendable but it's still workable and a great e/s to ahve in your kit.
