This is an amazing nail strengthener! My nails are so much stronger and healthier. I initially tried using it as directed by applying one coat every day and removing the previous coat before appling a new coat. I think I lasted exactly one day before I said to hell with it and tried to figure out a way to make Nail Repair work for me without the laborious and wasteful daily removal and application process. Not only can I not stand naked nails, but the Nail Repair has a tendency to chip or peel off, leaving my nails completely unprotected.

In general, this does not work very well as a base coat under polish. Most of the time, the polish will start lifting by the second day. The entire polish may pop off or it will start peeling off in chunks. I've learned to wear Nail Repair under my regular base coat and polish on days when I want to wear glitter or dark colors because I know my polish will start peeling off after a day, thereby saving me the need to get out the polish remover and stain my fingers or wrap them in foil to remove the glitter.

Once, I did a maniture with Nail Repair followed by Deborah Lippmann Turn Back Time, and 4 coat jelly sandwich of OPI Boy Meets Galveston and Pirouette My Whistle. I finished off with Posh Fast Dry and for some reason, this lasted for two whole days without any signs of chipping, peeling or lifting. I tend to change my polish every 2 or 3 days anyway so I'm just fine with my polish popping off after 2 days. Try wearing Nail Repair as a base coat, but also use a regular base coat and experiment with different polishes and top coats.

My only complaint about Trind is the awful cap. It's too tall and I can't ever put my Trind away without having to turn it on its side. Trind is also on the expensive side on top of a smaller bottle (.33 oz to the standard .5 oz), but I get mine from Amazon for a little cheaper.

My nails have always been thin, weak, brittle , would crack, split, warp, and the free edge would rip right off.
I have tried every single nail strengthening product available in toronto drug stores and spas.
sally hansen, essie, opi, nutranail, mavala, etc do nothing for me.
witchcraft made my nails hard and long, but yellow and eventually they would snap off on slightest impact
I had artificial nails, acrylic, then biogel, then brisa, for years until i developed an allergy even to brisa gel.

even with all the damage after following the trind challenge my nails grew so long i had to keep cutting them, people thought i had put gel on again. after the specified time of taking it off and putting a fresh coat i used the balsam and repair as a base prior to using nailpolish

and having to wash my hands multiple times a day at work did not ruin my nails.

Wow, Trind. Where have you been my whole life?

After I used Nail Repair for just a few days I noticed a big difference in my nails. I just used it as a base coat at first... didn't do the daily removal and reapply process. Still, within two weeks I had fantastic nails. No more splitting or breaking!

Now I just use two coats of Nail Repair as a base, then top that with one coat of Nail Brightener. This gives it a lovely pale violet hue. After that I top it with Trind Top Coat. My nails now last five to seven days, and they are gorgeous.

I ordered my Trind products from Trind.com. Yes, you can get them elsewhere for slightly less. But if I'm going to use a product like this, I want to be sure it's new and untainted. And since the product lasts so long, my $53 investment will be a bargain.

This has made wonders for my nails. I've always had dry and brittle nails that split, and I've been through a bunch of nail treatments over the years, like OPI Nail Envy that did nothing for me or Sally Hansen Nailgrowth MIracle that hade some effect, but not as good as Trind. Without Nail Repair or other treatments half of my nails are constantly split so far down I can't even cut or file them down. After 4 months the nailtips on my index finger and middle finger on my right hand (I am right handed) still split once in a while, which I believe they always will du to the nature of my nails and the kind of work I do. My nails have never been in this good condition, and they feel like they are still improving. The laqcuer is white in the bottle but opaque on the nail and can be worn by itself or as a basecoat.
This product contains formaldehyde. The bottle is rather impractical with a tall cap/handle that makes the bottle to tall to fit in my drawer of polishes.

I agree with the previous review...Trind Repair is amazing. I applied it daily for the first 2 weeks, & did remove the prior coating before reapplying. My nails felt/were stonger almost immediately. I also use Trind Nail Balsam, too. For ref., I've used Duri, Essie, OPI, & Mavala nail strengtheners. None of them have even come close to the results I've gotten from the Trind products. I purchased mine from Skinstore. ***EDIT- Removed 2 lippies. This dries out my cuticles horribly, & they never recover.

NAIL REPAIR (Basecoat/Treatment): For "Breaking, Peeling, & Splitting Nails":

I received both Trind's "Nail Repair" and "Nail Balsam" as a gift from a dear friend in the Netherlands. This review is for the "Nail Repair". Prior to receiving them I had never heard of them...and truthfully only gave them a try because they were a gift from this wonderful friend. I was, at that point several months ago when I received them, happy enough with a qtica nail strengthener I was using.

Well...thank goodness for friends who know a thing or two about nails! I have become so devoted to the "Nail Repair" in particular I haven't done a manicure without it in months and have had to get another bottle. My nails, which in the first 2/3 of this year were splitting and peeling and breaking, now have to be cut as they grow so long....and no peeling or splitting at all - not once in months! Now, mind you, I do a manicure every 5-7 days so I don't think I could blame the nail polish remover -Onyx purple- I use for my peely/splitting troubles. Was it all the extra hand-washing...or what? I do not know. But what I do know is that my nails now look nice enough to wear just a clear coat of the "Nail Repair" if I like...no color needed to hide my peely/dry/split nails. And they are so strong (strong, not hard if that makes sense)they must be cut/filed each week. As a great additional benefit (a really great one!) this product seems to help my mani last a long time and prevents staining.

Although I have received "Trind" exclusively as a gift(s) from my generous Europeon friend I see it can be ordered directly from Trind as well as several online retailers if you are looking for it and don't have someone to send it to you as a gift. It is not inexpensive but it is Good...Really Good(!)...if you have dry, peely, or splitting nails:-)
