Love this stuff! Lasted through about 20min. of serious crying, a real feat. No running or anything--I did not have to touch up before going out afterward. I live in a dry climate so idk if that matters but it held up all day long for 12+ hours. Definitely recommended! Doesn't feel like tar like some of the cheaper wp mascaras do. The color was nice and it did not clump.

At first this was a great mascara, when I put it on, it makes my lashes look like dolly lashes in a way, the fake lashes type. It really makes my lashes hard though. Because I live in humid weather, I found bits of mascara under my eyes. Ever since that day, I did not want to try to see if I would like this mascara, it just doesn't work in humid weather, and it flakes off my lashes after awhile. :/

Okay, I must say, this is your average volumizing mascara. But not great though. I am currently using Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Waterproof and I must say, I love the original (non-waterproof) version more than the waterproof. Why? Well, one thing that makes me say, "Oh! I don't like this!" is that it flakes like hell. Oh yes, even from the very moment you put it, let it dry and set, it flakes! Your liquidy like mascara turns into dry black flakes that scatters around your eye area and for my case, it went inside my eye and I had troubles taking it out. Good thing I was not in the hurry. I am obviously not in love with this mascara and will NEVER re-purchase this again.

This is my most favorite mascara ever. The first tube I bought was in a duty free store heading back to the States for my grandmother's funeral. I never buy waterproof but I bought this one especially for the funeral and because the price in the duty free store was great, something like 17 Euros. The normal price here in Germany is 22 Euros.
Not only did it hold up well for the funeral, I noticed that it was an amazing mascara! It elongates my lashes and gives me the volume I need. I have no trouble taking it off at night with a waterproof eye make up remover (I use ds - Maybelline). It has never burned my eyes and lasts all day. I love, love, love it!

I'm not sure if the lady at the counter of Estee Lauder gave me the right "waterproof" bottle but using the wand at the counter, Estee Lauder's Sumptuous Waterproof Mascara had zero staying power... I was exposed to basically a waterfall amount of water and the mascara did not last. That's how waterproof my HG mascara should withstand. I don't know if I just unfortunately got the wrong bottle given to me/if the formula changed/if the wand really does the magic...

I have had my tube since march (it is now june) and it is still going strong. I do not wear this everyday since it is a pretty hardcore waterproof mascara, but when I do wear it, it isn't dry or anything. I am able to build up my lashes and make them ultra long and thick without clumping, just like the non-waterproof sumptuous. This mascara has serious staying power, doesn't flake and you need a makeup remover to get it off.

Usually use DW in black which I find is the best mascara by far. I need a waterproof one for my holiday and was advised my the sales lady that this one is just as lash building as DW. I have used this twice and while it is pretty good it is not a patch of the DW. Nevertheless, it is very waterproof so will be perfect for my holiday. Think I will use my DW until I need this one though.

It does show up on your lashes (so it's not as bad as some other high end mascaras). However it is very "dry", which makes it clumpy and hard to work with. It completely dried out after 2 months of using it intermittently. So... Very expensive for the few uses I got out of it.
On the plus side: it is really, really, really waterproof! You could go swimming and it wouldn't smear. Which unfortunately also means it is a nightmare to take off! You have to really soak your eyes on biphasic eye makeup remover to get rid of it.
Not buying it ever again!
For reference: my favourite mascara is still L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon black (which is not avaible in my country so I buy it on airports ;))

i bought this mascara because i wanted a super-long wearing product that would add 'fluttery definition' to my lashes- pretty much volumise them, without being clumpy.
i usually use a cheapy mascara, Maybelline Full'N'Soft, which lifts my lashes, adds volume, is not clumpy and the colour suits my eyes (it's the 'right' black lol). The only problem with this is that it falls down a little. i like to do my makeup in the morning, and to have it looking flawless no matter what i do (for the record, i wear minimal makeup- eyeliner/mascara, possibly a little translucent powder or lipstain, depending on my mood- so this isn't an unrealistic expectation).
the EL Mascara stays put all day. However, the formula is too wet for me, so it doesn't give me that 'fluttery' effect that i love. it doesn't lift my lashes very well, or lengthen them. I've tried layering this over my Maybelline for the smudge-proof effect, and while it does waterproof them, the excess of product made my lashes clumpy. not worth the money for me! i would rather spend the money on clarins' waterproof clear mascara.

I'm a typical short, thin, straight-lashed Asian girl, in fact it gets worse, my lashes are so stiff naturally, they grow down from my lid making me see through prison bars daily if I don't curl them every morning.
Thus the joy of curling also has the effect of pulling out my lovley sparse lashes making me have gaps... SAD.
I've tried every Mascara I could get my hands on, these see better days when properly put into the clutches of my eagerly awaiting friends hands as they get freebies and while I lose a lot of money.
Estee Lauder goes on brilliantly, though a little to wet, it doesn't go on my eyelids like Diorshow Waterproof (which takes forever to remove) does but it doesn't say what it's all cracked up to be.
Promise of Length, Volume and Curl.
I got the Length which was nice but that soon became an issue when the weight of the Mascara due to gravity, un-curled my lashes having my eyes stabbed throughout the day, my lashes were extremely stiff. 2 hours after use, my eyes are really dry, the formula feels like it has sucked all moisture from my tear ducks, resulting in the purchase of eyedrops.
I'd say the only good thing was Volume, but that's still not up to scratch to the Diorshow. Both are ridiculously expensive EL £19.50 - DH £21.50)
My hunt for perfect Mascara for Asian eyes continue. Lucky for my sister, she gets a new Mascara.
I'll most likely go back to Diorshow.

I love this mascara but let's be clear: if you are looking for something comparable to Dior, you 'll be disappointed. If you want a mascara that enhances without screaming MASCARA! then give it a try. At my age with problems like droopy lids and fine lines, this is exactly what I am looking for. No problems with wear in high humidity and it came off easily with philosophy's fabulous remover.

I like this mascara but I haven't tried out the waterproof part yet in the pool. I read recently that "older" women should wear waterproof mascara because their eyes tend to be more droopy and I guess that may be why I was getting raccoon eyes with other mascaras (OK the age thing can suck sometimes). This is not the perfect mascara because I do get some smudging but much less than others. And even tho I like a drier mascara, it seems to have dried up pretty fast even for me. It now flakes a little because it is drier than before. I do like that it lenghtens and thickens my lashes, so I'll see how much longer I can use this tube before I break down and get another or something else.

It is waterproof. I had no problems with it smearing but it did nothing for me. If anything my lashes stood out less than with other mascaras. It is not a horrible mascara but by no means is it worth the price EL charges for it.

I really liked this. Sumptuous Waterproof gave me gorgeous thick beautiful black lashes but a tube only lasted approximately a month before it started to dry out. It was most definitely waterproof and stayed on very well considering how much my eyes water this time of year. The brush is a little larger and thicker than I like but I was able to apply the mascara easily even on my bottom lashes. As much as I like it, the price is the only reason I won't repurchase on a regular basis.
Update 9/13/10 - I recently repurchased and I wasn't a happy camper this time. This tube of mascara was drier than my first and it started to clump after a week of opening it. I'm very disappointed in the consistency of this product and will not buy it again.

After using a sample-size version of the original Sumptuous and falling in love with it, I was eager to try the waterproof version as well. And what a disappointment compared to the original. It does produce praiseworthy length and thickness, but at the same time, clumps lashes together like crazy! That's nothing that a good lash comb can't fix though. However, it's not as gentle as the original one either, and I feel slight irritation when wearing this mascara. It is very waterproof though.

This is my new HG mascara! I have to wear waterproof mascara because my eyes tear and my lids are oily and mascara also tends to creep into my concealer under my eyes. This mascara stays PUT and makes my lashes thick, black, long and curved without ANY clumping even with multiple coats. I almost look like I'm wearing false eyelashes and my natural lashes are shortish and very light and sparse. I'm kind of mad at myself for buying this because now I'm hooked on a dept store mascara when I used to use drug store brands only. Drat! Oh well... beauty has no price!

This claims to withstand anything like humidity or when you are doing water sport. I bought it because I really need something that doesnt make me look like a panda. I saw this in the ads and I thought this might be the perfect answer. Twenty-minute later the mascara gets everywhere :P I don't like how it makes my lashes look, too dry and doesnt volumize at all. WASTE OF MONEY.
