I really can't believe all of the negative reviews on here about this eyeliner duo. I really like both sides of it. I've used it for about two weeks straight and I haven't had any issues with it running at all and I have really oily skin and makeup doesn't like to stay on my face. It glides on super smoothly and for $3, you really can't beat it.

First of all, I have to say that I cannot STAND when people give a product a negative review because the color on their computer screen didn't match the color of the item they got. Listen up, people - every computer monitor is calibrated differently. What looks sky blue in person can look cobalt on one monitor and ice-blue on another. To give a product a negative review simply because the color was off is so unbelievably unfair and really pretty dumb.
Whew. Glad that's off my chest. I really like half of this item. I have it in Pearl/Glow, Green/Moss, and Plum/Purple. I use the shadow end of the Pearl/Glow for highlighting under my brow, and the liner end for the inner corners of my eyes. With the other two, I just use the liners. Like others have mentioned the shadow ends crease pretty badly, even with primer. But the liner ends work great. So I averaged a 5 for the liners and a 1 for the shadows, and added a point for the great packaging.

I bought this to use on mornings when I'm short on time... I really like the idea of multiuse products. The shadow stick isn't anything to write home about, I found the consistency really hard and it dragged. I really like the liner, though. It's called 'Brown,' but it's really a pretty bronze color. It went on smoothly for me and it lasted all day without smudging (I used a setting powder). I bought this in Brown/Basic.

Was so excited to try this product! But it turned out to simply be smudge city. The shadow stick was (in my eyes) streaky and creased almost instantly. While the eyeliner had nice color payoff it was too creamy and ran like crazy and just wouldn't stay put.
I love E.L.F., just not this product.

Wow! I am impressed! Why? Because it is only 3$, but it delivers as much as more expensive products do.
I may sound raving. It's not like they invented smth new. But the quality and price rocks.
I had Stilla eyeliner( 18$), almay wake up ( around 8$), others from grudstores and not only, but this one is even better.
This is a gel eyeliner and shadow stick. I have it in basic/ brown. Basic is more like bronze or smth like it with some shimmer to it, which is appropriate for everyday. Gel eyeliner is brown seems to have tiny amount of shimmer, but when applyed you don't see it.
At Target they carry only this shade but on Target. com you can find other.
The gel eyeliner is soft and glides easily on the skin. The creamy shadow stick is also soft, glides easily and well- pigmented.
I hope other colors are as good as this one.
I am definitely going to buy light shadow stick for eye widening effect and darker colors for smokey eyes.
Really good job Elf!!!

I bought this not realizing this was an eyeliner and a cream shadow. I bought it for the eyeliner which goes on smooth and looks fantastic. Since I got it in black/smoke I don't find the shadow to be overly useful since its such a dark color, but it has a nice consistency and its a good base for a smoky eye. I like the consistency enough that I'm debating grabbing this in a few more colors. Great product and the price can't be beat!
--Tried to do a smoky eye with it and found that this eyeliner oddly has fallout (without primer) when you try to blend with a brush. Still a great product, but I'm knocking off a star.

Really liked this when it first went on but it started smudging within hours. I also used the E.L.F. eye primer before hand and it still creased and smudged.

I own this in Pearl/Glow and Black/Smoke. I especially love using the Glow cream eye color for highlighting underneath my eyebrows with. And, I am a huge fan of using the Pearl liner to line my upper eyelid with. It really helps to give a more striking look to your eye makeup overall.
Black/Smoke is great for doing an easy smoky eye with. I simply apply a light colored base shade all over, apply the Smoke cream eye color to my lid area below the crease, and I use the Black liner to line my eyes with to perfectly finish off the look. Totally simple to do!
To make sure that the colors from the shadow sticks last as long as possible on my eyes and don't smudge, run, or fade, I always use eye primer beforehand. I do have oily eyelids. And, I do know that without priming my eyes first, these eyeliner and shadow sticks wouldn't last a half a day on my eyes.
Overall, E.L.F.'s eye shadow sticks are amongst my very favorite products that they actually make. They come in great colors and they are super easy to use!

I bought this product in black/smoke a month or two ago, & I actually really like it. The eyeliner part does smear sometimes, but I found if you use the liner, & then go over it with the shadow, it helps it stick more, since the shadow is more "sticky". The color of the smoke is really pretty, & the black is nice & dark. It's not a super high-quality eyeliner, but for a teen on a budget, it works fine.

I am writing this review for the shade moss/green, because I have a problem with the colors as they are in the ad vs. the actual product. The product itself is nice. I love, love, looove that it's retractable! Both the shadow and liner went on smoothly, and since I was wearing a base on my lids I did not have a problem with creasing.
My problem is how e.l.f. inaccurately advertises the colors on their site and packaging (which really isn't uncommon). The shadow, according to e.l.f. ads, looks like a minty green shade. The liner, a forest green. Well, the shadow is actually forest green with gold glitters (which is actually very pretty), and the liner is a green-grey color. But the liner is just about as dark as the shadow, so if you wear the liner on top you can't even see it. It's a good liner to wear alone, just not with the shadow it comes with. I can't speak for other colors in this line, but I am willing to try them provided I can find accurate swatches first.

Hum. I just got this product recently in brown/basic, and I really don't get the low ratings... because I REALLY LIKE IT! The liner side is a dark brown/gold colour and the shadow side is a bronzey-gold shade, and I haven't quite worn them together, but they each function really well on their own. I'm wearing the shadow side today and they really brighten up my eyes with the golden shimmer, and last week I wore the liner on my upper and lower lashlines (over primer) and they just make my eyes stand out so much more without smudging. These come really cheap (3 USD each) and are easy to wear (don't need any special tools, just fingers), which is great for a college student like me who don't have much cash nor time but want to look good in a jiffy ;)
Will definitely repurchase when I'm out of it!

I bought the basic/brown combo. I have a terrible time getting eyeliner to look good on me, and this is no different. That being said, I do really like the shadow end. The color comes out more of a very sparkly gold than a cream like on the box. But I'm not disappointed as I have green eyes that look okay with gold. I use the elf primer, and over that found it incredibly easy to apply and it didn't crease or fade all day long. It's so nice to put is on and not have either dust under the eye from a powder, color on my fingers, or a sponge applicator I have to try to store without it getting all over. Just rub this on like you are coloring with a crayon almost and put the cap back on, walla, done.
I'm going to look at Target and see if there is another color that would match with the gold (basic) for a duo tone look though.

I dont know why this gets such bad reviews because I LOVE this product. The eyeliner/shadows are very creamy and easy to put on. I bought this in pearl glow and its amazing with my bright blue eyes.
I never use the shadow for an all over shadow though because its pretty thick and would feel weird. I use the shadow part as eyeliner ontop and in the inner corner and the liner part on my bottom lashes/waterline area.
I dont recommend these for eyeshadow all over your lid but for eyeliners/brighteners its awesome!

I bought this in black/charcoal and loved the concept, however the product is pretty much useless in real life. The shadow end (charcoal) is a lovely colour but too greasy to get an ever layer of, and has creased (tried numerous primers) after about an hour of wear! The eyeliner end worked nicely first time, but then it just started falling apart for no apparent reason and about a week later there was none of it left.
I now just keep this in my make up bag to use the shadow end for emergency smokey eye top ups. As I said, like the idea and colour but e.l.f. need to do more work on this one!

This stuff sucks.
The liner smudges all around my eyes, no matter what. And the shadow stick isn't pigmented at all.
Both are too greasy, and neither of the caps would stay on.

I bought this in purple/plum and really don't like it. The eyeliner is waxy and the eyeshadow part is too creamy. Neither stays on. I buy a lot of E.L.F. products, but I would not buy this one again.

I have this in midnight/blue (although you can hardly call it ''blue'' it is a dark greysih color with a hint of blue) and brown color. I really wanted to like this because I love the idea but it's just not very useful. The shadow side is a bit hard, it actually hurts when I apply it all over my eye. The liner is ok but not very precise or and the color isn't bold enough. It does crease after a few hours but I don't apply a primer underneath. I didn't think there was anything wrong with the packaging. I think it's an ok product to have in your purse or your car for emergencies to create a quick smoky eye but not for everyday use.

I hadn't tried ELF makeup before this purchase, just their brushes, which I love for the price. I bought this duo in bloom/pearl and do not much like it. Haven't used it as an eye shadow base, but I feel using this as such is a waste, it would be much better to just buy a nice primer instead of a slightly greasy cream that won't last.
I wouldn't use this as an eye shadow, I used it simply to brighten the inner corners of my eyes and line my water line for brightening. Overall, this doesn't last and isn't very pigmented. You get what you pay for of course, but even three dollars can be wasted.
The real problem is the packaging. The liner is so soft it just loses chunks at a time without any discernible cause...the lid just destroys this liner, even when the product is twisted down inside the tube.
I would not repurchased for the packaging alone, but the :shadow" end of this is good for brightening, but it's not worth $3, Should be in the $1 line.

Hm.. Very pigmented, and creamy, but creases without a base! I love the colors, they are beautiful and shimmery. I have the purple/plum one. I took some picture and attached them above!
