I waited to pick a few of these up until Walgreens was nearly throwing them away, the price was so low. At less than $2 they were being clearanced out so I rummaged through the few left. I found a pretty looking gloss called Ablaze and another I can't remember. I could barely wait until I got home to try them. When I did, i was equally disappointed. No color payoff, they both looked the same on the lips but different in the tube. Ablaze looked so pretty like a warm flame, but no color payoff at all was noticeable. But, the smell was what made me return them. An awfully strong watermelon smell invaded my every breath. I can't remember if they tasted bad, but the smell drove me nuts and nearly made me sick to my stomach. First time ever a gloss did that to me. These glosses deserve less than one star.

this lipgloss is just horrible, the texture is greasy, looks shiny and glossy for like 2 minutes, after that it's gone.
Isn't that cheap either, theres alot of cheaper drugstore lipgloss's that are ten times better then this. dont buy!

*sigh* While I like the CG line for the most part, I've come to never expect greatness from their lip glosses, and this one is no exception.

I got one of these in a generic pink shade on clearance at Target for about $2, and even at that price I feel it wasn't worth it. The consistency of this gloss is absolutely gross- it feels like slime. No joke. Mucousy, in fact. Every CG lipgloss I've ever bought has been thin & slimy, with the same oily, suffocating texture. I've gotten glosses from the DOLLAR STORE that are better!

I'll probably give this to my little sister to play with, cause I have no use for it. ZERO color payoff, barely anything in the tube, it wears off within minutes, and I really don't like the NAIR-like scent of it. I seriously pity anyone who paid full price for any of these.

I too picked up a couple of these on clearance at my drugstore. I got the clear and 880 (why is there no color name listed on it? dumb) which is pretty much a straight up orange shimmer.
I like the consistency, taste, and color all right. The orange one goes on very sheer but puts a nice shimmer on my lips. I can use either one of these without a mirror. The lasting power isn't super long at all, but I know that's the case with most glosses so it's not like I am disappointed. I do like that when it wears off (and I've said this in other reviews about lip products--how it wears off is my main concern; I hate if it feathers or makes my lips flaky or runs or leaves a ring around my mouth) it does so naturally. I have had no issues with it drying out my lips.
My big complaint is the packaging. I don't know if they overfilled the tube or what, but after a few uses the product starts seeping out after it's closed, making a sticky mess. I don't pump my lipglosses or anything either. Every few days I have to take a tissue and clean off the applicator wand and the top of the tube. Which wastes product and is an all around hassle.
So all in all, these are okay for the two bucks I paid for each of them. Definitely wouldn't repurchase at full price.

i also bought this on clearance at the drug store. i got the color 'ablaze' which is a peachy gold color. overall i like the consistency and the color isn't super notice but i do like the hint of shimmer it has. the smell is pretty awesome and for some reason i'm really digging the applicator. i like how it's kind of flat on the one side. it goes on smooth and feels nice, but i would never, EVER pay 10 dollars for cover girl lip gloss. or anything by cover girl for that matter. if you are going to spend that much you might as well spend the couple more bucks and go for a high end brand that has good pay off and lasting ability.
conclusion:
worth 2 bucks.. but that's about.

I bought this today while going crazy at Walgreens. They had so many makeup items discounted! I bought this lipgloss for 2 dollars! Yaaa! Originally, I noticed this gloss was closer to 10.....way too expensive for 10, but just right for 2 :). I had a lip gloss I loved by Rimmel and couldn't find it at my local drugstores. I bought #880 Fire because it looked similar to the color and to the consistancy. It's sheer and sparkly. Smells amazing too, like watermelon. I really like this for keeping my lips moist and for a hint of shine and sparkle. This will be great for summer when I go to the beach and don't feel like wearing a lot of makeup.

This is the WORST gloss ever! I bought 2 of them at CVS with a $3 coupon and BOGO50%. First of all, the regular price is $11.99 each, which is ridiculously high, especially for the little bit in each tube. Secondly, there is no color payoff. I bought them to wear alone and it doesn't work for me. I don't find them to be very shiny at all. I'm returning them to CVS today and I never return cosmetics.

Nope. not for me. This is an extremely sticky lipgloss. i have this in the number 805.
pigmentation wise, its ok. it shows up as a sheer color on my lips.
I like the packaging and how its so sleek but i HATE how it leaks like crazy!!
The staying power is alright. it lasts me a couple of hours like normal lip glosses.
overall, save your money for something worth buying. TRUST ME

I have two of these, the clear and the gold. The gold glitter is very gritty and patchy. I love the idea of having these to apply over lipsticks but, I rarely use them. The quality is not bad, but not great either. Covergirl makes much better lipgloss, stay clear of these. Also the packaging seems awkward to me, like to keeps in a purse.

Honestly, I really didn't have the highest of hopes for this product, so finding the negative reviews of this one is no surprise. I bought this in a buy one get one 50% off deal, with a $4 off coupon. So I paid about $6 for two of these. One was a berry-ish shade in Smolder, the other is a clear brownish shade, Ember. I bought these for quick trips out of the house when I want something more than chapstick. This gloss isn't richly pigmented, the color is very very sheer...so for me it serves its purpose. There is an odd chemical taste, but it dissipates after a few seconds. You get such a small amount of this stuff that it doesn't justify paying full price for this. Would not buy again unless these were super-discounted or a buy one get one type of deal.

Another product I got pulled into buying from magazine advertisements!! I saw the printed ad with Drew Barrymore wearing this and brought the shade Aglow 810 and it is a nice pink shade. The shade works nice for my skin-tone, that's not the problem. My problem is how glittery this gloss is! I didn't get see swatches of it before I brought it, so if I did, I would have not brought this. Sigh. Wasted my money on yet another disappointing product.

I was never into lip gloss, but decided i needed to up-date my make-up. I saw Drew Berrymore touting this stuff and it looked so nice in the photos, so i picked up a couple, one pale golden with gold glitter (Flare - 845), one slightly milky with iridescent glitter (Glimmer - 870).
.
The packaging looks cute. But when you pull out the doe foot applicator, the container is only about half full. Yes, nearly half the volume of this tiny tube is taken up by the applicator.
.
And the gloss is just GROSS! First, it smells like a cross between melon/cucumber (which isn't so bad) and some toxic chemical (which is appallingly awful). Second, it has the consistency of wet mucous - totally disgusting. Third, it isn't sticky, the bane of so many glosses, because it's just like slime, slime, i tell you! Fourth, it sure is shiny which is fine, but it's so "wet" it just wears off in seconds - a real waste of money - if you can stand the stinky smell and the revolting texture.
.
I have a lot of glosses i love now (esp. MAC). I only use ShineBlast when performing, to add shimmer on top of my on-stage lip look, 'cuz i'm stuck with it. I certainly wouldn't recommend this to anyone for any reason. I don't normally say this because we all like different stuff, but eeeew! don't waste your money!

I bought sparkler because it looked bright pink but sadly it goes on clear. It smells and tastes nice but doesn't last too long because the formula is too thin. I wouldn't buy this again because it's clear. If it was bright pink I would.

I received a free sample of this in color #880 which is a nice orangey color. I really like it. It isn't sticky as most lip glosses tend to be. It has a nice fruity smell & the detail of the actual "doe foot" wand is such a cute touch. The color is sheer and shiny which is perfect for me as I just like a hint of color for a natural-looking everyday use. The price seems kind of high considering you are just getting a sheer gloss so I would probably only get it again if it was a great sale price.

Blech! I bought this on a whim while in the drugstore - never again! I purchased the brightest pink available, and it appeared clear on my lips. There isn't much product in the tube (once the wand has been removed), and the formula was extremely thin. It only lasted an hour on me, tops (and I wasn't eating or drinking). I don't recommend this lip gloss at all!

So I bought this first of all to go with my maybeliine lipstain. For some reason I thought it would be like a mac lip gloss. I thought this has to be good because this is soooo small and yet its $8.00! So first of all the smell is ok, I do smell the watermelon. But this thing .13oz, just like everyone says the applicator fills up most of the container so there isnt much lip rpoduct in there. AND its small in the first place! Theres nothing extordinary about it. It doesnt feel very good, I like it to be thick and kind of tacky or REALLY slick, if Im gonna pay that much I expect something to stand out in it. I got 805 which is one of them (compared to the others) that seem to have more pigment in it, than just a colored gloss. BUT NOPE. it looks clear. There is no way I would ever buy this again..I have this bonne bell lipgloss in strawberry parfait and yeah it doesnt feel like ne thing special but the color is great and it cost like 3 bucks IF THAT. I dont see this as beeing something thats gonna stay around!

I bought this in two separate shades (one pink and one natural colored) when it was on sale Buy One Get One 50% Off at CVS.The original price was $10.75 for one little tube (it's all wand) which is disgusting for something that small...But needless to say this product is Eh. It lasts for about ten to fifteen minutes on my lips. Nice shine but NO color whatsoever. I couldn't see either color once it was on. It would most likely look better over the Cover Girl Lipstain for that touch of color, which is how this gloss is advertised...I found that it also can get drying on your lips, so I would have to use Chapstick about 5 minutes before applying this product. Overall I probably won't buy again 1) because of the price 2) the amount of product is minimal and 3) there is no color behind these glosses. You are better off buying chapstick.

I just bought this today after being turned off by the ads, which mainly feature what appear to be bright pink and red or purple-y shades, not what I am interested in. However the brand had a buy one get one free offer at a pharmacy and I was already to re-purchase something else in their line, and noticed what looked like a very sheer, bronzey shade. Its # 860, though in a magazine ad I saw tonight it's used to top CG's lip stain and also called, "Gleam." I have long wanted a sheer, natural looking bronzey shade and was pleasantly surprised by this gloss.
The pros are this is very pretty on. Though sheer you absolutely see the wash of color and on my warm toned skin this warm shade is quite flattering. Its not frosty nor glittery. Its very much apply on the go, no need for a mirror for touch-ups, which is also high on my criteria list, its then mistake proof.
The cons are not the color nor formulation but rather more a personal dislike. Actually more than that as I hate doe foot applicators. On sheer glosses, which are the types I prefer, I feel the doe foot absorbs way too much gloss to get the coverage I want in one swipe let alone two. I always end up reapplying and that leads me to another thing I'd change, there seems to be very little product. I think companies that make any type of wand gloss should make the gloss part larger, and not equal or near equal to the length of the wand. I plan to buy the berry shade of lip stain (forget the name in the ad) to use underneath this for a more dramatic night time look, but for day this is almost perfect for me.
I should add that I took a wand with a brush tip, from another brand of a nearly finished gloss, cleaned it, then tried it with this one and luckily for me, it fits! So I get to have brush applicator with this. I now plan to try other shades as well.
