I modeled for an event held by Chanel last year and my makeup artist said this one just came out. He suggested that I should get it because it's an amazing highlighter and used it on me. I liked what I saw in the mirror so I decided to purchase one. The staying power is pretty good and of course, the packaging is absolutely lovely. I tried to work with it and apply it as a highlighter, but I was not pleased with it. I got nothing but glitters. I prefer a more sheen glossy look rather than a glittery one. I debated for awhile if I should keep it because it's so pretty, but I figured I won't be using it so there's no point on keeping something so expensive. I admit that I was a little sad to let it go, but it would've been a terrible waste.

I modeled for an event held by Chanel back in January and my makeup artist said this one just came out. He said it's an amazing product, an amazing highlighter and is really gorgeous so he decided to use it on me. Unfortunately, they were not giving this one out as a freebie at the event (it's ok. I got my powder and foundation, and I'm happy with that), but it looked so gorgeous on me when he put it on. The staying power is really good and of course, the packaging is absolutely lovely. I tried to work with it and apply it as a highlighter, but unlike the ladies who reviewed this before me, I was not pleased with it. I got nothing but glitters, which I don't really like as a highlighter. I prefer a more sheen glossy look (if that makes sense) rather than glitter. I kept debating if I wanted to keep this and I debated for about a month, but I finally gave in and returned it. I didn't want to keep it sitting in my vanity collecting dust. I'm a little sad to let it go, but it would've been a terrible waste.

Okay, let me start by saying I'm not a highlighter type of person. In fact, I'm not even a shimmery blush type of person. I'm a matte blush type. So when I was getting a makeover at my Chanel counter and my SA grabbed the Empreinte de Chanel, my first reaction was "Oh God, I'm going to go home with a face like a disco ball!" However, once she put it on me, I was astounded at the beautiful glow it imparted to my skin.
The color of this is very neutral. There are both pink and gold highlights, although to look at the compact, you would expect it to be more of an out-and-out bronzer, which normally wouldn't look good on my pale, cool-toned skin. This, however, is something totally different than a bronzer. It imparts a sheen that gives my face a look as if it is lit from within. It doesn't emphasize the fine lines around my eyes...if anything, it softens them. It makes my cheekbones look more prominent (always welcome in any product!) and gives me just a bit of a sun-kissed glow without being obvious. More like a candlelight effect. I absolutely love this!
I will definitely repurchase this if it's ever in stock again, although that's doubtful since it's LE. If you have a chance to get it before it's sold out, I highly recommend you try it. As with all Chanel products, the price is absurd, but it's well worth it!

I raced to the department store as soon as they had it. I admit I'm kind of a Chanel junkie but this is amazing. So gorgeous. I guess you can use it as a blush but I put it on over the top of blush and it gives a nice shimmer but not too disco ball. The packaging is equally beautiful and comes in its own pouch, like all chanel compacts. This one comes with a nice little angle brush that appears to be natural fibre which I probably wont use but its cute anyway. The price is high but as all lovers of Chanel will tell you its totally worth it. This is part of their Spring 2010 collection but I cant wait until then. I'm sure it will look better then, but I'm wearing it now.

Ok, obviously, this highlighter is way too expensive ($65) and I bought it just because of the cool design. However, I don't regret it! It's a very pretty highlighter composed of shimmery (though not overly so) rosey-beige and gold tones. Looks awesome on my NC20 skin, though I'm not sure if it would work for darker tones. The shimmer actually goes throughout the compact, unlike the crappy overlay that HE highlighters tend to be cursed with. Overall, I would buy again as it is adorable and LE for Spring 2010. Is it terribly unique? Nope. But it is super fun to have and look at!
