Okey I get it, Chanel sets the trends but I don't like this color. It has strong brown undertones meaning not so hot. If you like it and looking for a cheap dupe, look for Flormar 413. Pastel 75 pulls more purple. I personally prefer purple undertones.

I purchased this polish when it was first released, right when "greige" polishes were beginning to surface. I was in love with the color, but quite disappointed with the application. Two coats was opaque, but it was streaky and required a third coat to remedy this. The lasting power is awful. Even with a good top coat, after two days it is chipped and looks terrible. I have had this problem with most Chanel polishes, though. Less than a quarter of the way through the bottle the polish began to get thick, and I had to add thinner to apply it.
Also, since purchasing many other greige polishes, I began to notice that Particuliere has a brown tint to it, and others are much more flattering without the brown undertone (Ex: China Glaze Below Deck).
I would not repurchase this.

I bought this color shortly after it was released in Spring 2010, and it is still one of my favorite polishes. I am planing to go buy another bottle of it this week! I polished my nails with this shade last Saturday, using a base and top coat, and it is now Thursday and only 2 nails slightly wore off at the tips - the nails I used to scrape off a tag. I touched them up yesterday by applying another coat of color on those nails and they look great.
By the way, I do not work for Chanel or any marketing company or have any affiliation with promoting the product - I simply love it and want to share my opinion.

Like all Chanel polishes this one is of exceptionally bad quality.
It chips within hours even with 2 layers and a top coat!
You will find loads of online reviews where people complain about the exceptionally bad quality of Chanel polishes.
Chanel polishes have to be some of the worst quality polishes around.

Due to some many positive reviews I bought this nail polish. This is the third time I bought a chanel polish. I didn't like the quality then and this time I made my final conclusion; it's not worth buying! Chanels' nail polish chips within a day and needs three layers for an acceptable result.
I find the color particuliere boring and old fashion. Maybey it has to do with my yellow undertone but it looks darker than in the bottle. The color is too brown. I had hoped that it would be more grey/taupe.

Very nice colour, although I don't like weird colours normally. The same quality as other Chanel products - lasts long if you do nothing with your hands, or 3 days if you do (and I am really hysterical about chipping). I really like it.

I can't stop staring at my toenails. Such an intriguing colour. Chanel does such unbelievably good quality polishes. Applies effortlessly. Stays on forever.

I LOVE THIS COLOR. I'm addicted to it. I've worn it every day for the last month and I'm still not tired of it. I've gotten so many compliments on the color as well. Chanel nail polish is always great too, it takes a beating and doesn't chip easily. I seriously plan to go buy 2 more bottles just in case it turns out to be a limited edition color.

I remember that I saw this nail polish on one friend's nails last year. I was impressed by the soft grey-coffee colour and its shiny texture. Unfortunately it was sold out in Italy and I couldn't get one. Two weeks ago I saw it at the Chanel counter of a department store in Florence, where I live, and the sales clerk told me there were just a few available. I couldn't resist and I bought it. And then I realized that Particuliere was the "it" colour in Italy. It is on the nails of every MUA and every girl who wants to look cool. To be true, I prefer to be original, but in this case, I'm very happy to be part of the club! Highly recommended nail polish. Check the latest Chanel Coco Mademoiselle ad: Particuliere shines on Keira's hands!

I've been on the lookout for a good neutral polish color for when I'm really busy at work, don't have time to fuss with my nails, do touch ups, etc. I also like to have a serious change up from my usual favorite dark reds, rouge noir, etc. I like the way this looked at the store in the bottle, and took the leap of faith based on all the rave reviews & hype. I also liked the fact that it looked like a creme with just a hint of shimmer - enough to catch the light, but not frosty or blingy.
It is all those things, but unfortunately, it just doesn't work for me - must be a skintone thing. That's unusual, as I'm your garden variety brunette with brown eyes, fair skin. I can wear just about any color.
But this one looks flat out "muddy" on me, and I can't even get away with using it as a neutral/taupey color. It looks bad.
There's nothing wrong with the quality of the polish, so I feel bad giving it a low rating, but I definitely will not be purchasing again. In fact will be looking to swap it or pass it along to someone else. My advice would be that if you're unsure about the color at all, try it on a nail or two at the store, and then go back the next day to get it - after you get a chance to see it at home, outside, etc. It's a bit tricky and not as neutral/universal as it looks in photos or in the bottle. And at $25, that mistake burns a bit.

With as much money as I've spent on trying to find a dupe for this... I might as well have bought the real thing. Well this past week I finally broke down and did! I'm very happy with it so far. It goes on really smooth and it dries to a shiny finish. The color is like none other; none of my "dupes" come close when I thought they did. I have fair skin with neutral undertones and it doesn't clash with this color. I say.. just go and buy it! I purchased it straight from the Chanel website.

It's been years since I've worn nail polish because of my jobs. I recently started during my vacation. I was immediately drawn to the "greige" polish trend I saw in magazines. I first purchased American apparel's nail polish in Mouse. This polish was only $6. The color is a taupe with more of a gray undertone. Even though it didn't flatter my skin tone, I wore it any. My boyfriend commented and said my hands look like "corpse hands". I have to say I am tan with more olive undertones and if the lighting wasn't right my hands looked definitely on the gray side.
So, I looked into various polishes, I read so many great things about Chanel's Particuliere, but I was hesitant about buying it because of the hefty price tag. I looked for dupes, but nothing seemed to match. I broke down and purchased Chanel's. I'm glad I did. Particuliere is a taupe-y polish with more brown to it. I like that because I don't get that look of having "corpse hands" like American Apparel's. I can't really comment on chipping since I don't wear polish for longer than a couple of days. But the application is smooth and I don't need more than two coats to achieve opacity. Also, it dries very fast. I hope Chanel decides to make it a permanent part of their collection.

I really love this nail polish. The color looks beautiful on and I am happy with how it applies and wears. It lasts a decent amount of time on my nails with seche vite. Not so happy with the price tag but this was my first chanel polish and I am overally very happy with it.

Unfortunately, this polish just does not do justice on me.
On my NC20 skintone hands, it looks like milk chocolate. Creamy milky coffee. Not a bad thing, but it just doesn't stand out. And that IS the point, I suppose.
However, the chipping is not good at all, whereas some of my other Chanel polishes last a week or so without chips!
Not a fan of this shade... Sigh.

I have several dupes for this colour, but have to say that none of them come close. Its like the new french mani...you can wear it with anything. It takes me from casual days to work and then to functions. I agree with the quality and how it does chip disappointingly. I feel this is ridiculously expensive for the quality. Even my pharmacy bought polishes last longer. But alas, its the colour you are purchasing. Would I continue to buy..yes...its become a staple in my wardrobe unfortunately.

I love this colour! By far one my favourite nail polish *colour*, it goes with everything, it's stylish and understated at the same time. However, I do wish that Chanel nail polishes were better quality. This only lasts 2 days without chipping. I'd expect more from Chanel.
Since this polish has been released, there has been countless dupes for this shade, but I'm yet to find one that is as nice as this. I guess I just have to compromise and do a mani every other day :/

This color is amazing like everyone else has said. But I also have had a heck of time trying to keep it on. It looks great for about a day and chips and peels off. I have tried it with a base coat and without, with a top coat and without ... it makes no difference, it comes right off. I am bummed. I wish I could find this color in a different brand!

Ok, this is the "IT" color right now. Its pretty much the same as OPI's "You Don't Know Jack". Almost identical in color. I have tan skin, so I wasn't sure how this was going to look on my skin. It is a gorgeous color in the bottle and also on my nails when looking just at my nails, however it doesn't look that great with my skin tone. It looks a little pale. Not pale enough that it discourages me from wearing it. Its such a preppy fall color but its not a "go to" go out color for me. However, if Im running errands or am dressing casual, I really enjoy this color. It helps to put a clear top coat on with dark skin to keep it shiny.
Cons- all of my Chanel nail polishes chip a bit and are hard to remove. HOWEVER, I started buying PURE ACETONE nail polish remover at CVS and this takes any color even blacks nail colors off quickly so that is no longer a problem. I still love the color variety's of Chanel so it does not discourage me from buying them. They are a little pricey, but if your like me SOO worth it.

One of my very favorites! I just love everything about it! The color is fantastic, the quality is supreme. I usually apply a base and a top coat, but if I'm in a hurry I can easily skip those steps with this polish, because it just really lasts for about a week (as most of my chanel polishes do, if I have my nails healthy, of course). It is also very easy to apply, the formula is the best! Two coats and your nails will look fabulous, shiny and sooo chic!
I hope they eventually will make this shade permanent, because I will repurchase again and again and again!

First, I am in love with this color and will most likely buy it again, but it has chipped on two fingers after only one day...a day I wasn't at work! It is very expensive compared to Essie and Opi which usually give me a flawless look for four days or at least three. Since I am a nail color junkie I will wear this to go out since I know not to expect it to last. Come on Chanel!! If we are going to pay double the price for your to die for colors can you please improve the formula? Oh, I won't under any circumstances be guiled into buying another color until they do. When I find a dupe for this they will be out of luck. {{{love their fragrances}}} they are worth every penny.
